Sampler Appetizer had Cream Cheese Wonton (8) Veggie Roll Chicken Sate Curry Fries Garlic Edamame
Leslie S.

I finally had a chance to try this restaurant. Loved the music that they were playing. I wanted to jump to my feet and dance. A friend and I had their sampler appetizer and ordered 1 side of rice. It was a perfect portion for 2. My favorite was the coconut prawns. The food tasted fresh and dipping sauces were tasty. My friend ordered a mango soda which was not too sweet and great flavor. Cute decor! Service was definitely below average. Definitely worth coming back. Happy to be able to get a discount on my bill by using my Passport credit card.

Mango curry

Tldr value and tasty Thai food I randomly found this place and decided to try it with my family. We were not super hungry so we just ordered two dishes: mango curry and pad thai. We were very pleasantly surprised by nothe the flavor and the portion size of the food. The pad thai was very flavorful and the sauce they used to try it was really good. Most other pad thai places I have been to tend to be on the sweeter side but this was very savory and well balanced. The mango curry tasted more average but the mango chunks were interesting. I wasn't really a fan but my family enjoyed it.

Blue Mango is located in the San Jose Market Center next to Trader Joe's. Parking is challenging in this ultra busy plaza. Interesting concept of Thai and Japanese Sushi. The inside is decorated like a Thai Restaurant, though, you can see the Sushi Bar and refrigerated display case for the assorted fish. They currently offer a BOGO for their Basil & Chili Stir-Fry: choice of protein (chicken) w/ bell pepper & onion. Choose your spice level 1-10 (3.5/5). They used chicken breast meat, in their flavorful sauce. Thai Ice Tea (4/5). Not too sweet, but creamy. Pretty standard. The service was nice and friendly.

Cha Cha Wings, $14

IMHO Generally good food. I eat here often. I wanted to try new dishes this time. Loved the 6-piece Cha Cha wings! Didn't like the Peanut chicken salad. Chicken was horribly dry. Won't order again. Seaweed salad refreshing. Combo pad thai good.

Cream Cheese Wonton (8)

Update from vegetarian reviewer: I visited the restaurant again after about 5 years yesterday and I definitely want to update my review. Happened to try a bunch of things yesterday in a big group and it was a good experience for the most part. 1. Veg papaya salad tasted refreshing, maybe 3.5/5. 2. Roti curry - curry was on the sweeter side but great, roti was oily and not crispy. I wouldn't recommend this dish here. 3. Dynamite- spicy and yum, a great try for vegetarians 4. The other deep fried sushi was not worth it, also too sweet. 5. Creme cheese wonton- crispy and simple, this was great. 6. Green curry - yum, it's a great order too 7. Drunken noodles was a good order too - spicy and appetizing. 8. Red curry- was good too There was one sever taking care for about 5-6 groups and she did a great job. The restaurant has few tables and chairs so it's not easy to find a place on a busy day. Loads of parking available in the lot where the restaurant is, even on a busy day.

Chicken Pad Thai

Absolutely delicious Pad Thai--honestly, it might be the best I've had in the area. Perfect balance of flavors, fresh ingredients, and cooked just right. Service was fast, friendly, and very attentive. Everyone was so kind and made the experience even better. I'll definitely be back!

Blue Mango Fried Rice
Yuki K.

Maybe we got lucky with the food because both of the dishes we ordered were delicious. The "Blue Mango Fried Rice" with chicken and sweet garlic pork had perfectly fried rice with the grains being fluffy rather than oily and tasted fragrant too. The mango poke bowl had a good amount of tuna, salmon, mango, avocado, and cucumbers with dried seaweed as well as seaweed salad mixed with lettuce on top of rice. I have no idea what the light orange sauce covering everything was but I'm guessing it was the typical mayo + Sriracha + rice wine vinegar combo I see in recipes. Service was prompt and friendly. We were the only people there around 1 pm on a Saturday. The smell of incense is really strong but I like it. Some people might find it off-putting though. Hoping the restaurant will still be around in the future and we can visit again to try something else.

Blue Mango Restaurant, so good!!!!

I got Yellow Curry, family got sushi. Best of both worlds, waitress was on point - where can you go where the staff has worked 14 years, Blue Mango!!! Crazy. I took a photo of the place, so clean, was able to get seated very quickly. I will definitely be coming back.

Panang Curry with veggies
Umang D.

Ordered from here through a delivery app recently. Had a Panang curry with veggies and Eggplant stir fry with tofu and veggies. The food tasted ok. Though felt the quantity was kind of less for almost $16 per dish.

Fire wings
Cristina N.

I picked up an order for dinner. Pad Thai was good but the "fire wings" defined on the menu as "crispy chicken wings" were so so bad. Not cooked, not crispy at all and flavor such a disappointment. Couldn't eat it. They are very fast with putting the order together...maybe too fast. Prices are too high for what it is.

The spring rolls and the golden rolls appetizers are top notch--it would not be hard to convince me that the spring rolls contain something addictive because I cannot seem to get enough of them! Coworker's favorite appetizer is the wonton poppers, which are also great! I've tried several things on the menu and while my coworker and I have some favorites (the lemongrass beef must be tried, and the green curry and curry noodle soup are both also fantastic), we haven't had anything so far that we haven't liked. I did bring my husband for a meal on the weekend and he wasn't a fan of the fried buns for the char siu bbq with lotus buns and thought the char siu was too sweet, but he enjoyed the spring rolls so hopefully he'll give it another chance later. Vietnamese iced coffee here is also good, but it's not one of the places that brings the little drip filter out to the table etc. in case you're looking for that (my coworker was hoping for it when we first came). The decor is fairly typical of a place run by the Supreme Master Ching Hai group, and the menu has the same vibe if not the same items (my sandwich-loving husband was dismayed by the lack of banh mi), which is a bit of a change from when I had been here previously almost a decade ago. I think it's a change for the better. The location is clean and the wait staff are friendly to the point of sometimes being suspiciously chipper, but it's actually pretty endearing. They also have a little mini market by the door where a few vegan dry goods and instant coffees can be purchased, although I haven't tried getting anything there yet since we're usually on our way back to work. Merit is part of my regular lunch rotation, so I expect to be back many times! Maybe someday I will have tried everything on the menu, even!

Grilled Octopus was excellent as always, my favorite dishes here. Lamb Osso Bucco was served with orzo rice, peas, morels. Lamb was tender and well-seasoned. Tamarind Glazed Salmon served with kale and red quinoa. The salmon itself was good, but I don't think the quinoa was a good match with the dish. The flatbread was the most disliked item we had. It was a bit bland and too doughy. We enjoyed the Peyrassol Rosé (France 2025), which was not only nice to see but also nice to drink. Love the smooth texture and taste. Vanilla Crème Brûlée was enjoyable, the shortbread cookie was somewhat bland. Chocolate Date Cake was rich and quite sweet. Even we shared it among 3-4 people, we still couldn't finish it. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience.

Food was overall good but the server oversold everything. The taste and balance was decent but pricing was 100% unjustified. Review of our table's order - excluding the obvious lack of value and weird plating choices: - mezze dips: skip. rip off. - cauliflower: maybe the best dish of the meal - octopus: sauce was unnecessary and portion size was terrible - caesar salad: not good - lamb shank: tender but the sides were trash - branzino: parts tasted not fully cooked. - lamb chops: DRY. Hammered the protein and drenched in oil...? Do not get. - chicken: large portion and maybe the best bang for buck when feeding large parties. it was ok. No wonder they closed shortly after. I get the high rent given Santana Row pricing but do a little better when hiring service staff.

We bought the annual pass, which takes 20% off everything, and ordered the Moroccan braised chicken with mashed potatoes, the sea bass, and the banana cream pie. All of it was top notch. The fish is excellent, and that pie is SUBLIME. Even with the pass, it's a great deal, especially when everything in San Jose is so expensive. The food is healthier and not greasy. We're they bigger before? Yes, but that's everywhere. My only gripe: it saved my credit card automatically. For an annual pass, I don't get why they need to keep it on file, and it wore me out a bit. Service: the person at the register was not friendly or helpful. Food: When I asked about if the "aioli" was mayo on the Grilled Chicken Sandwich, she said no, but, it was just mayo with little bits of herbs, not even a hint of orange-basil and very little chicken. The Grass Fed Grilled Steak Sandwich had no discernible seasoning and was smothered in aioli/mayo. The bread on both sandwiches was almost doughy and not toasted so we only ate half of the bread. The restaurant looked nice and modern, but several of the tables around us were dirty and remained that way by the time we finished our meal.
