The staff were very helpful and the price was a bargain. The pier is approximately 5 streets away from this motel (to the left if you're facing the pier). I don't understand some of the criticisms about this place: 1) our bathroom was huge 2) our room was nicely updated; definitely nothing out of date about it 3) my fiancé has Verizon and didn't experience any "dead zone" issues. I have T Mobile and didn't have any connectivity problems either. 4) yes there are train tracks nearby but hardly 100 yards. The tracks are parallel to the beach so if you're going to stay on the beach, you're pretty much going to hear it. 5) On TripAdvisor-there's nothing wrong with the parking spaces. I was next to a truck and a SUV. There were also minivans and other big ass cars parked without problem. Unless you are driving a bus or you just don't know how to park, it should not be an issue. Just don't expect it to be as spacious as a supermarket parking space Karen! Lastly, don't complain about being shoved into a room without an ocean view. How about asking if there's a view when you book your room? Use your words ahead of time instead of your pie hole after the fact. Stop crapping on a place simply because you're stupid.

Also there is a very good bakery next door with great coffee! The motel is also dog friendly, offers on-site parking, and has clean, comfortable rooms. We appreciated the kitchenette area, which was convenient. Also includes a small fridge and freezer. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The biggest area for improvement is the WiFi. Unfortunately, it either didn't work or was extremely slow during our visit. This was a major inconvenience because cell service in the area is already spotty. Without reliable WiFi, it became difficult to research things to do, make plans, or even communicate with friends staying in another room. We couldn't call or text each other because neither the cell service nor the WiFi was dependable. Overall, Studio East Motel is a great value for the location and clean accommodations, but improving the WiFi would significantly enhance the experience. Please fix it!

Our rooms had a queen bed, pullout couch, small efficiency kitchenette and dining area and very clean bathroom. If you're looking for fancier accommodations, you can pay twice as much and be twice as far from the center of town. Free parking on site is priceless. Never sit in traffic waiting to pay for parking. No more waking up early to race down to the beach parking lot before it fills up and pay. Next time you're in Ogunquit, stop by Studio East for a visit. I'm looking forward to next years trip!

The Sparhawk rooms are right at the water's edge and you have wonderful unimpeded views of the Atlantic, Ogunquit Beach, Little Beach and the outlet of the Ogunquit River, with the mesmerizing tides. Plus the views are due east and the sunrises are amazing. However- though the rooms are clean and comfortable with a private patio or balcony, there are some misses for a higher end "resort" property. Our balcony door's deadbolt lock didn't work (which is a safety issue!), the bathroom sink's drain stopper was broken, the walls are rather thin so you easily hear your neighbors (and snorers), and we had ants in the bathroom. Plus it would be nice to have in-room amenities like a coffee-maker (coffee, tea, hot water are available in the lobby but only starting at 7AM, so early birds like us in need of a morning brew are out of luck) and mini-fridge (for keeping those leftovers or desserts fresh - instead, we had to wastefully throw them out). The complimentary Continental breakfast is welcome but the offerings are on the scant side - there should at least be cut fruit available and it would be nice to have hot fresh oatmeal instead of instant oatmeal packets. There are many other choices to stay in Ogunquit that offer such amenities and are more sound-proofed, though perhaps not with the amazing views that Sparhawk offers. But if The Sparhawk would like to be a top-notch stay, I think they need to up their game a little!

Lots of stars for being an an awesome throwback with great bones, and the common areas (the lawn) feels like a backyard BBQ with all sorts of lawn statues and a gazebo. I'm sure if we were there in the summer, we'd be grilling with our neighbors and feeling right at home. Felt like going back in time. And the price is right. And the place is clean. 95% is awesome, and the other 5%... needs to be maintained. Like, you can't have the heat not working in a bedroom when it's 2 degrees above freezing. We went to the office, the owner (?) told us she'd send the manager. The manager tried to help us out, brought a part from the heater in his cottage, but it didn't help. We left the door open to the other rooms, and were happy for the extra blankets -- we were fine. The manager also mentioned there was an issue with the heater in his cottage. Little things like a kitchen where the pot lids didn't fit the pots, no cutting board or can opener. Little things like the sofa bed futon that folds out doesn't have supports under one side, so if you're on one side, and someone is on the other, and one of you gets off, the other ones tips over onto the floor. I mean, listen, we'd go back (when it's warmer!) But it's a pity when you have something going back close to 100 years, and basic maintenance starts to lag. I hope the new owners do Pride justice.

I have been going to the Footbridge for years and have only found the motel to be extremely clean and the owners extremely friendly. When I went, they didn't have housekeeping services either, but I'm really not that much of a pig that I would need housekeeping services for five days and I do know how to make a bed or not. I had plenty of fresh towels. The room was immaculate. The decor is beachy and wonderful. The owners do not advertise the motel as a hotel. Their pricing is in line with all the other places in Ogunquit, the temperature of the water in the pool I think is like artwork. It depends on the persons preference. I personally find the pool refreshing. The beds I find extremely comfortable but again I think that's a preference. As far as the dogs go how dare you????THEY ARE NOT SNIPPY AT ALL. Both Brandy and Brady are so full of love if anything they will lick you to death. As far as them being shaved, you have no idea what you're talking about. They are not shaved down to the skin. They have at least 2 inches of fur still left on them. It is a lot cooler for them and much better in the summer. I can only assume that this they person was on some mind altering product while they were there because their review was so so so far off. If that is what you are looking for then this is it, though this is one of about 50 versions of that in a 5 mile radius. Here's what this place is not - it's definitely not a hotel despite its $300 a night room charge - and it's not really a "beach motel" either. It happens to be down the street from a pretty beach. There is no beach equipment to borrow - you need to rent that from a third party. There's not even housekeeping service - we were causally told during an awkward check in (not a "welcome" or anything, no hotel or beach or area information provided with our key) that due to "shortage on staff" we would not have housekeeping for our entire multi day stay. Cool. We did get a lot of towels in our room to cover our entire stay though! This place isn't a bed and breakfast either - despite the owners always being present at the pool, seemingly on vacation themselves. If you want to spend the day with guests, at least do some wine and cheese and have some entertainment other than cheesy music blasting all day long. Complete the bed and breakfast vibe, cause if you don't, you just appear to be intruding on the guests' experience. Actually, they had some family reunion during our stay and honestly, it felt like we were intruding during their own families pool time. Instead of spending the day lounging on a floaty with us in the freezing cold pool with the hazardous steps, how about you spend the time housekeeping so that your guests have the clean rooms they signed up and paid for? Apparently, "short staffed" means that the owners are on vacation too. Can't have it both way, gentlemen! If what you promised on your site is now what you can't deliver, you should modify the price accordingly especially with something as basic and expected as housekeeping services. Would have stayed somewhere else even for the same price just based on that fact alone had we knew in advance that this was something that wasn't accurate and going to be delivered on when we arrived. Also charged us twice for a pet fee due to "changing computer systems" - nice touch! We had to course correct them on that, so watch the charges if you do decide to stay cause everywhere else is filled and you'd like to spend some time with their cute but snippy dogs whose coat they shaved cause it's the summer time and they are "much cooler" this way (that's cruel - their fur keeps them cool in the summer because it protects their skin from the sun - everybody knows this, duh). We should have listened to the golden rule of yelp - if the owners have a history of vicious replies to previous honest reviews of their business by other yelpers (especially at a $300+ nightly premium for this dump), you stay clear. Wait... I feel it coming now - a nasty and misspelled reply coming my way right now, replete with bad grammar in an immediate response to my review - or at least as soon as these guys can put their alcohol down and get off their pool floaties to get to their phones to type a reply. Pass this one by and go to a place where the business actually lives up to their social media snapshots.

There was a humid, musty feeling in the room. AC is out of date. There was also a load of dirt all over the counter from the AC unit. When I awakened the next morning, I found all my food in the fridge completely frozen. Management or whoever was there decided the best thing to do was to blame the guests (stop placing blame on others). It is YOUR reaponsibilty to make sure everything in the room is set for the next guest. Went to get ice, it was full of dirt and debris.

When i booked the room I knew we would have a bay view to the ocean, but I didn't expect the view we got...WOW! Because it was October, it was a bit chilly the day we checked in, but that didn't stop us from sitting on our patio for a couple ours in the cool late afternoon mesmerized by the view. The next morning we got up and although still a bit chilly, we opened our door to get the sea air and watch the Lobster boats head out of the harbor for a day of work. It was so beautiful and so peaceful we didn't even want to go look around, we just wanted to stare at the water. The room had a comfortable bed and pillows, it wasn't huge, but big enough for the two of us. We will definitely be back!

When we got back that evening the tv wasn't working so I called the office. The same woman came by my room and she discovered that the problem was not only my room, but the hotel. Instead of waiting for the cable company to come out on Sunday the woman, Uzma, worked with the tech on the phone and had the problem fixed within 30 minutes! She was great! I was impressed. Great place to stay. I would definitely recommend it. I will definitely return at my next trip to Maine.
