I have just read the horrible review that somebody left for the Footbridge Beach Motel and had to say something. I have been going to the Footbridge for years and have only found the motel to be extremely clean and the owners extremely friendly. When I went, they didn't have housekeeping services either, but I'm really not that much of a pig that I would need housekeeping services for five days and I do know how to make a bed or not. I had plenty of fresh towels. The room was immaculate. The decor is beachy and wonderful. The owners do not advertise the motel as a hotel. Their pricing is in line with all the other places in Ogunquit, the temperature of the water in the pool I think is like artwork. It depends on the persons preference. I personally find the pool refreshing. The beds I find extremely comfortable but again I think that's a preference. As far as the dogs go how dare you????THEY ARE NOT SNIPPY AT ALL. Both Brandy and Brady are so full of love if anything they will lick you to death. As far as them being shaved, you have no idea what you're talking about. They are not shaved down to the skin. They have at least 2 inches of fur still left on them. It is a lot cooler for them and much better in the summer. I can only assume that this they person was on some mind altering product while they were there because their review was so so so far off. best place to stay!!! feels like home and nice pool!!! We have been staying here for years when we come to Ogunquit!

Notwithstanding their social media postings, here's what this place is - 4 walls and an uncomfortable bed. That's it. If that is what you are looking for then this is it, though this is one of about 50 versions of that in a 5 mile radius. Here's what this place is not - it's definitely not a hotel despite its $300 a night room charge - and it's not really a "beach motel" either. It happens to be down the street from a pretty beach. There is no beach equipment to borrow - you need to rent that from a third party. There's not even housekeeping service - we were causally told during an awkward check in (not a "welcome" or anything, no hotel or beach or area information provided with our key) that due to "shortage on staff" we would not have housekeeping for our entire multi day stay. Cool. We did get a lot of towels in our room to cover our entire stay though! This place isn't a bed and breakfast either - despite the owners always being present at the pool, seemingly on vacation themselves. If you want to spend the day with guests, at least do some wine and cheese and have some entertainment other than cheesy music blasting all day long. Complete the bed and breakfast vibe, cause if you don't, you just appear to be intruding on the guests' experience. Actually, they had some family reunion during our stay and honestly, it felt like we were intruding during their own families pool time. Instead of spending the day lounging on a floaty with us in the freezing cold pool with the hazardous steps, how about you spend the time housekeeping so that your guests have the clean rooms they signed up and paid for? Apparently, "short staffed" means that the owners are on vacation too. Can't have it both way, gentlemen! If what you promised on your site is now what you can't deliver, you should modify the price accordingly especially with something as basic and expected as housekeeping services. Would have stayed somewhere else even for the same price just based on that fact alone had we knew in advance that this was something that wasn't accurate and going to be delivered on when we arrived. Also charged us twice for a pet fee due to "changing computer systems" - nice touch! We had to course correct them on that, so watch the charges if you do decide to stay cause everywhere else is filled and you'd like to spend some time with their cute but snippy dogs whose coat they shaved cause it's the summer time and they are "much cooler" this way (that's cruel - their fur keeps them cool in the summer because it protects their skin from the sun - everybody knows this, duh). We should have listened to the golden rule of yelp - if the owners have a history of vicious replies to previous honest reviews of their business by other yelpers (especially at a $300+ nightly premium for this dump), you stay clear. Wait... I feel it coming now - a nasty and misspelled reply coming my way right now, replete with bad grammar in an immediate response to my review - or at least as soon as these guys can put their alcohol down and get off their pool floaties to get to their phones to type a reply. Pass this one by and go to a place where the business actually lives up to their social media snapshots. read more

This is Patti's and my second stay here. Scott and Mark are very friendly hosts. The motel is very nice, comfortable and spotless. And pet friendly! Footbridge beach is beautiful and steps away but will not welcome your dog. You'll need to drive to Wells Beach for beach access with Fido. Scott and Mark have created an oasis for relaxing with your pet. Give the place a try! read more

October 8, 2021... An ok place turned into a BEDBUG nightmare. Room 15, about 30, took an hour to get the owner to respond to us. We are placed in another room which seemed okay. At least for the night. Though they reimbursed the three nights we were planning to stay, they inadvertently disclosed that they had had bed bugs in that same exact room two weeks before and that it had been sprayed and did not check the room first before renting it out on Friday the 8th. We had to spend part of our vacation in a laundromat and upon coming home had to take a day from work to wash everything and clean/vacuum the car. No other offer made. read more

Last time I stayed here was on to July 1962 today into my marriage of 30 June 1962 The motel was built by the parents of a college roommate and recently I stopped in just to see who was now owning the motel. I shared my story with the front desk clerk and upon leaving I was entering my car a woman hailed me down and presented me with a wonderful warm HOODIE. just to help me remember my experiences there. We really loved our 14-day stay at Footbridge! Footbridge Beach is far more enjoyable than dealing with the congestion and parking fees at the main Ogunquit Beach. The motel is an easy 5 minute walk to the beach. My wife's knee was acting up... so, a couple times, I just drove one minute to the footbridge, went back to the motel to park and walked back to meet her. The rooms (and beds) were spotless and serviced really well by the housekeeping crew. The pool water is clean, clear and warm... and the pool area is beautifully landscaped with the most soothing music playing in the background. The owners are seemingly always on-site and respond to any requests immediately. Mark and Scott make all their guests comfortable and it's a pleasure to chat with them at the pool or on the grounds about a variety of topics, including the best places to dine and local sites to visit. What a treat to be at the Footbridge Beach Motel for Easter weekend. Mark and Scott, the new owners, were so lovely, the room had beautiful photos, was spotlessly clean, and the beach was heaven. God was there walking in the silence and peace of that place. It was perfect. I will be back in June when my son is done with school for another adventure. My daughter and I stayed at the Footbridge Motel for 3 nights. We loved it! The room was nice and clean and the staff friendly . A 5 minutes walk takes you to the beach and there is a trolley stop just across the street. Great place to stay! read more

I was happy with our stay here. The lady at the desk was friendly and offered us brochures of places to eat and things to do, and told us if we needed anything she would be there for us! The room was great for the price, and close to the Footbridge Beach which was beautiful and relaxing with its white sand beaches. Pros: close to everything in town and a great beach, nice staff, big comfy bed, great water pressure on the shower head! Cons: the shower water went from freezing cold to scalding hot throughout my showers. I had to do a shower dance! The biggest downer was that I pre-paid for my room on a website and when we arrived, they had their off-season rates (probably because it was raining). I could have saved about $100 if I hadn't bought them online! read more

Nothing but love for this place! We love going to Ogunquit for our beach vacation because the town is made up of predominantly small, independently-owned businesses. At the Footbridge Beach Motel, there's real pride of ownership; every year when we go back, something has been redecorated or upgraded. Nice to see in a world where so many businesses just want to take your money and have nothing to do with you. Place is spotlessly clean, pool is gorgeous, and the walk to the beach is short and very pleasant. With bars and restaurants nearby, what more do you want? As a bonus, the desk staff really knows the area. I've gone in there a number of times with specific dinner ideas, like wanting high quality food and wait service, but to not have to dress up. They always have suggestions. Very helpful. When we go to Ogunquit, if we're not able to stay at the Footbridge, our trip just is not as good. Really love this place - book early! read more

Found the Footbridge Beach Motel at the last minute for a spontaneous beach trip last weekend. Was delighted to be able to book two rooms, one that was dog-friendly, in this spotless motel in walking distance to the beach. The owners were very welcoming, the grounds are nicely maintained and it was terrific bang for the buck. I will be back! read more

This is a great motel. This is nothing like you might imagine a motel to be. The staff are pleasant and rooms are very nice. Only downer was the Internet does not reach the rooms and cellular service is limited where the motel is. Other than that, it's a great place to stay. read more

If I could give more stars, I would! The welcoming owners of the Footbridge Beach Hotel saved the weekend that I had been looking forward to for a month! After a disastrous night at a different motel, we went for breakfast and asked the staff if they knew of a place we could stay. They recommended the Footbridge Beach Motel, whose owner happened to be eating at the restaurant. They were very accommodating and found us a room right away. The entire motel has been renovated and was inviting and comfortable. It is an easy walk to the beach from the motel. Thank you for a wonderful weekend! My girlfriend and I stayed at the Footbridge Motel for three nights, and we were thoroughly pleased with the room, amenities, and the friendly staff that the motel provided. Upon arrival the woman that checked us into our room offered to upgrade us to a larger room with a larger bed free of charge. The motel rooms are newly remodeled, clean, and comfortable. The heated pool, and barbecues are great amenities that add to the value of your stay. You really get more for your money when booking your stay at the Footbridge! read more

Just returned from my annual trip to Ogunquit and the Footbridge Beach Motel! There have been some lovely improvements in the pool area - a little oasis all on it's own. The motel is a short walk away from the best beach in Ogunquit (or take the trolley). The rooms are squeaky clean, there's fresh coffee in the morning and grills available if you want to prepare your own dinner. I think the Footbridge Beach Motel is the perfect place to stay on a visit to this lovely beach town! read more

The woman working at the desk was friendly and offered brochures (which they all should anyway). The room was not even close to being worth the $200/night, it's a motel, with dirty carpet, old and uncomfortable comforters. The showers have a container in there that is supposed to contain soap and it was empty. (I didn't need it, by why have it there if it's empty). The vending machines were completely (100%) Empty, however the soda machine still showed soda being there and took my money-nothing there! You also don't always get parking in front of your room and can hear the people in the rooms above you. It's a $49 room that they charge $200..not good! Would never stay there or recommend again. read more

Great little motel. We stayed here for one night. The rooms are small but clean and exactly what you would expect for a little beach motel. We paid 175 for the night which is pricey for a motel however it's just a short walk to the beach, a trolley stop, and multiple restaurants. We didn't have to drive at all for the two days we were there. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and polite. The outdoor pool was very clean. They even have a grill and patio section set up. We didn't get to use this but will when we go back to stay again. read more
