Today I had a flat tire on my way to work and my insurance company sent Blue Hills Towing to get my car and bring it to a tire shop. I have literally have never met more unprofessional people ever. I waited 3 hours for the tow truck although they told my insurance it was supposed to be less than an hour. They then picked up my car and when they dropped it off at the tire shop, they did not communicate with me or the tire shop or my insurance company that they delivered that car. I've had 2 really good experiences with Blue Hill's Towing and Perry in particular. The first time, Blue Hill's was the third towing company I called when I got a flat tire. Perry gave me the best price of the three companies to tow the car to my house where my spare was located. The second time, I called Blue Hill's directly when my girlfriend's car was towed by BTD and we had to get it towed out of the lot because the registration had expired. Perry got to the lot in less than 30 minutes on a Friday night and waited with us while BTD processed everything. Great service and he is very friendly read more

Absolute worst towing company I have ever experienced! I called for a tow and they told me 30 min until they arrived. I called back after 45 min of waiting then they told me another 15-20 min. After that I called AGAIN and they told me another 20-25 min. I told them to cancel the trip and they were happily to do so. I eventually DROVE MYSELF to my autobody shop with brakes that are almost gone to shit. I shouldn't have told them to cancel and instead making THEM wait for wasting my time. I called Blue Hills to find out if they had it, which they did, and went to pick it up the next day. Perry met me at the shop within 10 min of my call, was friendly and even cut me a deal, charging me less than he could have by more than $50. As if that weren't enough, when we got to the yard in Weymouth where the towed cars are housed, he helped me for over an hour to get my car back up and running, all while being patient, sympathetic and resourceful. I recently whiteness an accident in Quincy. Two tow companies came to clear the cars. One I believe was Body Craft and one was Blue Hills. Not only was the Blue Hills driver unprofessional but he was a complete jerk (saying it nicely) to the two tow drivers from the other company. He not only bad mouthed the other tow drivers to the police officer on site, but he even challenged there abilities to there faces. I have been in the auto repair business for 16 years and have owned an auto repair shop for 6 years. I have dealt with a lot of tow situations and tow drivers. I know what I am looking at when it comes to crashed cars and accident scenes and the Blue Hills tow driver was completely out of line. Waited four hours and no one came. They told the rental company that the car was snowed in - but it wasn't, I had cleared the snow off the vehicle. They didn't have the courtesy to call. The rental company didn't tell BHT that the address was a condominium parking lot, so there wasn't one car there but nearly two hundred and BHT didn't have the vehicle registration! That's why they needed to call me! Quite simply BHT were shown to be liars. I even phoned them to challenge their behavior and asked for an apology, but to no avail. ***Warning to all*** Storage yard runs the typical scam to steal you car/truck. They will mail certified letters (required by law) but they will mail them to the wrong people so they can buy time to run up the storage bill. Once the storage bill is at about the value of the vehicle they magically find the legitimate owner, and try to collect their ransom. If you do not pay they simply file a lien for your title and take your property. Either way they win. I would highly recommend you do not consider this company for ANY service. Before I begin i must start off with the fact that I have been a mechanic for over 20 plus year, and I have experience in towing for 15 years. On December 8th I broke down on RT 93 and the State Police dispatched Blue Hills to my location to assist me with a tow where I met the driver Dan... A nice driver very talkative, told me how he wanted to be a State Cop and so forth. I asked him for rates as to where to bring my car, and he told me that he would do me a favor and bring my car to their yard in Quincy on Willard St, and write the time of the call for 11 pm so I wouldn't get charged for the storage fee. He quoted me a price of $125 vs having it towed to Brockton for $150, and I would pay at the address on the card which he gave me. He also told me that there where and electrical rebuild place in a big white building, and I may be able to have my alternator rebuilt or repaired there. That morning I went directly to the WIllard St. location, and the receptionist (heavyset blonde) at the desk came over and told me it would be $164. I told her everything that the driver had told me, and she said that this was the price. I asked to speak with the manager/owner whom she said was Jackie. Jackie was sitting in the another room and said the price was $164 yelling from her window, and not once leaving her seat. I told the receptionist that this was unfair practice, and to call the driver to confirm if he quoted me the price... When she called him he denied (I don't know if she even called him) he quoted me that price. At this point I felt like I was lied to in order to make more money on a storage fee which I would have avoided if I had the car towed to Brockton. This entire debate went on for 10-15 minutes, and not once did the Jackie who is the owner/manager come out to speak with me, and it was bad enough that when the driver for AAA showed up to take my car to the shop it was going to he was quoted as saying... "I hate dealing with this place they suck here." So at this point I asked the receptionist... "Well I would like to speak with the driver and Jackie at the same time." and she tells me that the driver is part time and doesn't work every day, so when I ask her well what day does he work she answered "He works one day a week." "What day?" I ask to see her answer, and she replies... "He works Sundays and there is no manager here." I look at her and say... "Well last night was Monday night." as to which she tries to lie, and cover her tracks, and says "I said he works Sundays and Mondays..." I look at her and say, "Well that is two days then." I paid my bill and left there as if I was ripped off. If you ever break down in that area of RT 93 and have Blue Hills Towing dispatched to you AVOID them at all costs or make sure they tow the car to your desired location and not their yard in Weymouth. read more

This business is very sketchy from the empty (open door, lights off, phone ringing, no human in sight) office that they directed us to first, to the "miscommunication" which led to a doubled waiting time at the second location, and nonexistent customer service which the owner so proudly claimed she valued in an article which she ironically framed on the wall of the office. I get that it was a holiday so they must've been busy towing all the cars and ruining said holiday but after that long wait, without so much of a "hello" or "sorry for the wait" the man asked for which car we're picking up and stated how much it was. We had to pay $183 in cash but I don't really know how much involuntary towing usually costs so you be the judge of that. Our car is a hybrid and had absolutely no problems with it until the towing - now it has a brake light and a hybrid system warning light. The man working that day tried to "fix" it and screwed everything up - we couldn't even switch to Drive. After he claimed it was the hybrid system that was the problem and walked away to "assist" another client, he returned, slammed his clipboard next to company car next to me and "fixed" his mistake of unplugging and "not plugging it back in all the way". If you voluntarily need to be towed, beware and stay away from this business!!!!! If you are involuntarily towed, I am genuinely sorry for what you're going to have to go through, good luck, and you're in for a very unpleasant and long experience. read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. They're scammers. Here's the run-down of their operation. First of all if you're an individual and not a business you will have to pay for their services in cash. Demanding payment in cash would be fine if they were selling hot dogs out of a cart on the street, but they aren't. Their office is in a remote part of Quincy. Their car storage lot is in Weymouth. You will have to drive to their office in Quincy to drop off your cash. Then you will have to drive to Weymouth to get to your car. They can't accept your cash at the Weymouth lot. Apparently they can't 'process the payment' of an envelope filled with hundred dollar bills at the Weymouth 'facility'. How will you do all of this driving when you have no car? Well you'll have to find a ride or rent one, and you'll have to get this ride on the weekend or during business hours during the week when the office is open. Chances are this is going to be difficult. You and maybe your friend will have to take time off work or sacrifice a good chunk of your weekend(s) to deal with them. They don't care. They're making 35 dollars every day your car sits in their lot. Oh yes, if you ask them how much you owe them over the phone they'll give you a number. When you get to the office that number will be increased a couple of hundred dollars. Mysterious fees will be added. When you ask why these fees weren't mentioned over the phone you'll be made to feel like an idiot for not already knowing they exist. Yes, towing fees apparently exist the same way trees and water exist, and not knowing about them means you're a moron. "Oh you didn't know there's a ninety dollar pull-out fee. Sorry it's industry standard." You'll be fed that line. If you decide to junk your car with their business partners, Insurance Auto Auctions, you will be told that the process of getting them your car will be easy. They send IAA regular shipments so all you have to do is wait and any additional storage fees will be deducted from what you will be paid for your junked car. It will be a lie. They will not take responibility for giving you misinformation and will demand that the storage fees will have to paid in person before the car can be removed once and for all. Yes that's right... Paying them with cash in person once isn't good enough. They will extract MORE money from you by being the business equivalent of an infected cut that won't heal. If you have to deal with this company it's not going to be by choice. It's because your car was towed for a parking violation or was in an accident. You are powerless to pay them without transportation. They know you probably don't have it, and they capitalize on this. They will hold your car ransom and make it as unpleasant as possible to get it back. Now you can claim that this is what all towing companies essentially do, but this one... oh ho ho... they take scummy tow business practices to a new level. They're basically criminals, and their operation needs to be shut down. read more

Let me tell you that this is by far the worst company to ever exist in the Boston Area or to even exist at all..I recently got in an accident and the tow driver came out of nowhere and was already on the scene. It was like he couldn't wait to jump on it just because he might get paid for that accident or something. So I called the Blue Hills office the next day to see where they were located and what was even worse was that the operator was being a complete raging b**** and she was so rude. All I asked for were the hours and she snapped at me. Also when I asked for the prices for how long it would be there for and it was $35 a day. And they told me since I "had basic that I would pay for it out of my pocket" and that's when I became a raging bitch right back to them because I'm not paying for anything. It was a good thing that the other girls' insurance had covered me because there prices were ridicoulous. And when it came time for me to tow away my car and clean it out. They were giving me a hard time and asking all these questions like just let me get my stuff out of my car. You can still keep it since it was totaled anyway and they felt even more salted when I said another towing company was taking my car out of their yard because that meant they weren't getting paid anymore for my car sitting there. And it's been sitting there for over a month now. And it racked up to $1,018 dollars. And then finally I had to put the woman from the towing company on speaker to let the Blue Hills Towing Company that they were coming to pick it up because Blue hills didn't want my car to leave without them gettign paid first. They were just making everything difficult. He was extremely nice to me throughout the commute and was overall a great driver. He was able to make a bad situation better and cheered me right back up after having to deal with a hectic morning. Today This company was dispatched to my home via my insurance company Progressive. When the driver arrived I stated that I needed my car to go to my mechanic. The driver stated if it's the battery I can start it and you won't need a tow. I said to the driver even if it starts I need to have it checked out. The driver was able to jump the car and started it. However I said to the driver I'd still like to go have it checked out. The driver then stated to me I could take the car to Advanced Auto Parts and they could change the battery for free. I called Advance Auto Parts they had the battery. I said to the driver that I would still like to have my car towed to my mechanic. He paused and stood and said to me I wouldn't have you take it there if they weren't able to help you. He said to me it's just the battery trust me. So the driver left. I went to Advance Auto Parts and low and behold a gentleman named Scott told me that he was unable to fix the battery because the wires were corroded. I then called Blue Hills towing company and spoke to a woman named Lisa that said she's going to send the driver back out. Another Auto Parts representative then said that they could fix my vehicle at that point I stated that I just wanted my car towed with these conflicting statements. When the driver arrived he jumped out of the tow truck walked across the parking lot got in my face pointed his finger and stated to me you don't tell my boss that I forced you not to take the tow. I told him that I did not tell your boss that you forced me not to take the tow. He began to argue with me forcefully and menacingly. I told him I was not going to argue with him. And that I was not going to stand there and be called a liar. I felt threatened and I said that I was going to call Lisa to find out what occurred during their conversation that he was so angry. I was on the phone with Lisa Karma the tow truck driver called her. I stated that I wanted to file a complaint, she stated that someone would file the complaint . They seemed to have some side conversation that made everything right by the driver. However everything was not OK. The driver was very rude very abrasive and approached me in a menacing and threatening manner I called Progressive to complain I also called the tow truck company to complain blue Hills towing company seemed unbothered. Go with another tow truck company if this is how they allow their drivers to interact with their clients. Ultimately I was not and did not get into the tow truck with the driver after I was made to feel unsafe by his actions. 1 star rating is far too generous for this company. read more
