A must visit for sushi lovers. It was my first time here recently and I was impressed with the food. The restaurant is conveniently located in a shopping plaza and was easy to find. Their menu is vast, and it was hard for me to narrow down which rolls I wanted. Our waitress recommended the godzilla roll so I ordered that, as well as the moonlight roll. Both were delicious and left me stuffed. Prices were pretty affordable as well for a sushi joint. I was here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and they gave us a complementary fried banana dessert at the end of our meal. The waitresses were very nice and sung happy birthday with us. The only negative thing I have to say is my group of 5 did have to wait a while for the food to come out, so I would not come here if you are looking for a quick meal. Went for dinner this week to meet a friend. I liked the atmosphere - loved the water wall feature they have too. Our service was great. And we happened to stop on a night that they had sushi specials. They have a separate menu with the specials listed - the sushi listed is about 30-50% less expensive than usual. We picked a bunch of different rolls to try - Pink Lady roll, shrimp tempura roll, soft shell crab roll, and sweet potato tempura roll. We also got the Gyoza dumplings and the squid salad. I've been driving past Blue Ginger for years and never knew it was there. A friend recommended it so gave it a try. Am I ever glad we did! It's located in a shopping center, right near Dollar Tree and TJ Maxx, so there's plenty of parking. Inside has booths and tables as well as some stools at the sushi bar. Nice variety of beer, wine, and sake. They have the usual rolls - spicy tuna, vegetable, California - as well as lots of specialty ones. I really enjoyed the Triple Three roll, which has no rice, is spicy tuna and avocado inside, wrapped with soybean paper, and tuna, salmon and yellowtail on top. Delicious! The staff was friendly. Tl;dr review: Absolutely amazing and can't wait to come back. Full Review: Cousin was home from college so our family decided to stop in yesterday afternoon for some, hopefully, good Asian food. She stopped over once or twice to make sure we didn't have any questions about the menu and to see if we were ready to order. 2 of us settled on sushi and the other 3 got a traditional Chinese entree and a speciality roll to split. The food came out in about 20 minutes or so which was great as I was quite hungry. I got the Spicy Maki Combination Sushi Entree and the Fire Cracker Roll. The sushi was incredible, the maki combination was 3 hand rolls all great quality and very tasty. The speciality roll was even better. The Chinese server appeared again and asked me if a booth seat was better. I agreed heartily and she took all the stuff and transferred it to the new booth. We are sushi and sashimi fans so we have been to quite a few restaurants and hired a personal sushi chef. This was our first time at Blu Ginger Asian Bistro, and we are thrilled. The sushi rolls on the Love Boat for Two (Dynamite and Demon) are delightful. In addition, the ultimate freshness of the sashimi and the artful presentation of this sushi-sashimi combination makes it a perfect dinner date choice. The miso soup as an appetizer is light and tasty, and the salad is fresh with a deliciously refined dressing. Even the ginger and the wasabi are superior quality. There is a lot of generosity and sincerity in this food, and that is a rare plus these days. The restaurant is nestled in a strip mall and looks nondescript from the outside. The restaurant room is decorated with soft colors and the lighting is very astute, making this place cozy, simple and yet, with a welcoming touch of kindness and generosity. The service was prompt, efficient, attentive, kind and friendly, yet reserved and discreet. We will certainly come back to Blu Ginger in order to taste a few of the many rolls on the menu. Going back to Blue Ginger for second time, I wanted to give their other menu items a try. We still ordered sushi as it was up to 50% off on Tuesdays, but we also ordered the XO Seafood Delight Dish and also the Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodle with chicken. Sushi was great as usual! The Seafood Delight Dish was a great portion and just the right flavors for $16.95. This dish came with a variety of seafood items including lobster tail, fresh scallop, jumbo prawn, sweet pea, mixed vegetable, chef's special XO sauce. One dish that really bugged my family and I was the Hong Kong Style Pan Fried Noodle. This "brown sauce" was used and although the noodles that barely touched this dish was okay, anything else that was soaked up in this brown sauce was unbearably salty. 75% of the dish was could not eat because of the amount of sauce the dish was swimming in. We believed the brown sauce is known as oyster sauce and normally, oyster sauce is used sparingly as most people know it is heavily concentrated. The chef must not have known how salty the sauce is because it was unbearable. If you are contemplating about ordering anything with the brown sauce in the ingredients, make sure to ask for the sauce to be on the side or added lightly. I would hate anyone else to have to bear through and pay for a dish they are unhappy with. Besides that, the other food was good, but this bad experience really made a bold opinion in my mind. read more

I stumbled upon this place while stopping at the dollar tree. It was really late and I wanted a little bite to eat that wasn't too heavy. The inside was very clean and neat! It was very quiet inside and the workers were friendly and helpful while I looked thru the menu. However, I went with a traditional sushi roll and some soup since I wasn't that hungry. I also got the tempura vegetables they were just ok. I would love to go back to try some of the more explosive sushi rolls they looked pretty good on the menu. I will be back soon! read more

Went back on a Tuesday to try the special Sushi menu. This time my experience was more Like 3-4 stars. The regular rolls were between 2-3$. Speciality rolls were between 6-8$. The regular rolls were very average - the best was the sweet potato tempura. The spicy tuna was decent and the spider roll w soft shell crab was not very good. My friends mexican maki and crazy tuna were much more creative and flavorful. This place is quite a drive for me but I went because my previous experience of thai and chinese food has been good. I think if in the area its worth a try but not worth a thirty minute drive on its own. read more

I have been looking for a good sushi place in Cleveland and this was one of the first places I've tried, based on good Yelp reviews and the 50% off days on Monday and Tuesday. This is the best deal ever! There is a special "Up to 50% off" menu that has a wide variety of sushi rolls, special sushi rolls, and a few appetizers. Most of the rolls are in the $3 range for regular rolls and $6-$8 for special rolls. We ordered 10 rolls plus 3 appetizers for 3 people and it was a ton of food. We could not finish everything. We took almost 2 full rolls home. We tried a variety of things and it was all very good. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because all of the sushi is overpowered by sauces put on top. Eel sauce, spicy sauce etc. With that, you could not really tell if the fish was of superior quality or not. Most of the taste was coming from the toppings rather than the fish itself. Everything tasted very fresh, but none of the fish stood out as the highlight of the meal. read more
