Food was OK, very Americanized but service outstanding and fast! Didn't try the sushi tho. Ambience was quiet nice place for a date.

I recently visited Bluefin and placed a hibachi order totaling $51. I asked for extra yum yum sauce and was told there would be an additional charge of $0.61 per sauce. I questioned the cashier, explaining that after spending over $50 on my order, I was surprised I would be charged extra for a small amount of sauce. She explained that it was due to the owner's policy, so I asked if I could speak with him. When the owner came over, the way the situation was handled was very disappointing. His response was that they have to charge because they "spend more on the sauce because of the container and lid." While I understand businesses have costs, the explanation and the way it was communicated felt unnecessary and dismissive. What's frustrating is that this was never about the $0.61. It was about customer appreciation and the bigger picture. A returning customer who regularly spends $50, $60, $70, or even $100 per visit should feel valued. Instead, it felt like the focus was on nickel-and-diming a loyal customer over something so small. Unfortunately, because of this experience, Bluefin has lost a customer who has supported their business and planned to continue coming back. Coming to Rome 2 weeks ago, I had a plan of stopping at Ru Sans, my girlfriend suggested we stop here instead. Apparently Ru Sans has had some issues keeping employees and can be closed at random times. Two times being here: my first and last. I honestly can't state how many things could be out of whack. I gave it two stars as it is not the worst train wreck I have been in and has potential to improve. Looking at other reviews, I am glad I did not order to go. The atmosphere is fine. Feels like most places in a strip mall. Long sushi bar just inside the door with seating around the side. We did not realize hours had changed since the last time she had been (quite some time ago) and the waitress was obviously in a mood with us coming in. As there were still people on other tables and we left before they cleared out, she copped an attitude for no good reason. The sushi? It is clear the sushi chef's don't understand what they are doing. The rice balls were huge and the fish cut very thick. Some might say they are giving you value for your dollar, but sushi is meant to be the way it is so you get the balance of the fish, the rice and any sauce you have on them. With nigiri, this can be the wasabi you add along with the soy sauce you dip it in. The other side was some of the fish was already starting to separate, which means it was fairly old. Thick cuts of old fish are not really appetizing. The last straw was the rice had been sitting for some time and had already started to pick up off flavors. As a vegetarian, I appreciate that this place offers me amazing sushi options and a variety of curries! I came with my family and got an inari roll and veggie tempura roll (which I cannot get ANYWHERE else)! they tried to charge me almost double for a an order of 2 to-go items. I ordered according to their online menu prices but they said that the prices went up on their in-house menu. instead of honoring the prices I ordered from I had to remove one of the items from my order to afford the meal. The manager did not offer to honor the original prices. You should definitely order here if you want a girl named Abby call your mom a liar and argue with her in front of a whole restaurant over a $4 edamame. Some people just aren't raised right. Brittny Edmondson Horrible experience! I ordered lunch around 2:15 pm, grabbed it around 2:30. Got all the way back to my office only to open the bag and the food box my lunch was in was disgusting! It was a white container, food all over the top of the container and also food hanging all out the sides. I open my food and there's a hair first thing. I close it drive all the way back to the restaurant, they had closed! Once I was done with my work day I took the food back! This lady that says she is is the owner basically looks at me like I'm crazy after I showed her how disgusting the lunch, presentation was horrible on top of the hair that was in my food! She says that the white boxes they use everything shows up. I told her It was disgusting , I ask her if she would eat out of something like that , she said YES it's not like I'm licking the top of it! Then she proceeded to tell me she normally wouldn't refund it bc I've had it for several hours and I should have come back when they opened back up as if she ran me, my day or my office! Told me she was helping me out by refunding my money! Then proceeded to tell me just don't come back and eat here again! She said she owned the place! I was blown away honestly, and not sure if I believe it that she does the way she handled this situation today! I left the refund, its not about the money. First time here today, and I will say that this place is very, very average. Restaurant was pretty busy, men's restroom was disgusting. Was able to get a table fairly quickly however. Service was fine if not friendly, but food including apps and sushi all came at once with no room to put plates. I don't think they made any effort to time things appropriately. Gyoza was passable but sauce on lettuce wraps was very sweet and I kinda despise baby corn. Lettuce was fresh and crisp. Sushi came out at same time and I would say never order the sushi here. They have no idea what they are doing with sushi. Jagged cuts, Publix grocery fish quality. They didn't even slice the roll cleanly and pieces were all stuck together. Very amateur sushi production. Bowls and hibachi were about what you would expect at any quick hibachi place. Very average and the veggies were cooked several hours ago and were quite wilted. Really had no idea which vegetables they were, all mushy and mixed together. I get it's Rome GA but food is about what you would get at any mall in the 90s. Came in for lunch and have eaten here since they opened but today the sushi/sashimi was very fishy smelling and the tuna which I usually love was very chewy, could barely cut it with a fork, and had to spit out. The manager/owner lady up front said after long discussion that she would replace 2 of the pieces but not the fishy smelling one and she said the sushi chef said the fish was fresh. She also said I had complained before and therefore that I should not order sushi here in the future. She nor anyone would smell the piece that was off. Very hurtful response for someone that had brought new citizens of Rome here. She also insulted me and showed no compassion whatsoever. VERY DISAPPOINTING!!! BlueFin has a reputation as the best sushi in town, and that's probably true. Thing is, the town in question is Rome, GA. While there are indeed a few culinary delights to be found here, sushi isn't among them. I am the first to admit that a few years of living in California have ruined me utterly where sushi is concerned. Had I eaten at BlueFin years ago, I could see myself leaving four or five stars. But for the sushi purist, this is still closer to grocery store sushi than it is to Sugarfish or Katsuya. All that said, the sushi is solid, and the prices are very reasonable. The wine list is perfectly serviceable, with decent bottles to be had at fairly inexpensive prices and better bottles for those on a less restrictive budget. The service was very good, and I would definitely go back - I'd just relax my expectations this time! read more

I like it! My favorites are the Hibachi and the Mongolian Beef. Update::: I have ate here many time but today at lunch a roach ran across our table. I killed the roach, wrapped in napkin and discreetly told the waitress and gave her the napkin. I asked she let management know of the issue. When the bill came, no discount, no apology note no nothing. So much for me trying to be discreet and not letting other customers know. Blue fin has gotten my order wrong 3 times in a row. I have had to call each time to have the order corrected. The last time I spoke with them the owner AND an employee argued with me that they did everything right. They offered no solution, did not correct the order nor did they offer a credit. Went here a bit ago with my family, the food wasn't horrible but when we were asked how we wanted our steak cook everyone gave different answers (medium, well done, and medium rare.) All of them came out blue and when we asked the waiter about it they offered to have it fixed and didn't come back until we got the check. Outside of it, the food was good. For tonight's dinner I choose the sashimi dinner which was excellent comparative to the average establishments found in North Georgia. Dinner was paired with bottle filtered cold Saki which was a little pricey and a water. In addition the mean was served with house soup and ginger salad. Although the meal does come with steamed rice I choose not to omit the rice to limit carbohydrate intake. I was greeted upon walking into the restaurant within moments and taken to a table promptly. As I was solo dining I requested to sit at the sushi bar so families could better utilize the table. The quality of the fish was singly above average and for the cost I would have expected a slightly higher quality fish. Do not go here and eat!! You get treated like crap when you have a gift card and they don't honor it. They messed up and put the money on the wrong gift card. The receipt has a different gift card number then the one they gave me. I am a traveling health care worker and was treated like crap. This establishment will never get my money again. It's hard to rate a place when you had a party of two and two different experiences. So I'll settle in the middle and tell you why. We started w/ an order of spring rolls. To be honest, they were disappointing. First, you only get two, although they are larger than some places. I didn't care much for the filling - lots of cabbage like you usually find in an egg roll instead of the rice noodles and lighter veggie filling in most spring rolls. I actually prefer the ones I buy from Walmart in the frozen section over these. I chose the sushi lunch w/ a choice of two rolls, ginger salad and miso soup. It was the most generous serving of salad I've gotten at an Asian place which was a plus since the dressing is awesome! The miso soup was spot on, not too strongly "fishy" from the dashi or the seaweed. I chose the shrimp tempura roll and the crispy crab roll. Both were very good. Not sure exactly what the dressing on the crab roll was, but it was yummy. If I were rating this place simply by my sushi lunch, it would be getting a 4-5 star rating. My husband chose the chicken teriyaki lunch and wouldn't order their hibachi again. The fried rice was pretty flavorless and didn't have anything in it - no veggies, egg, onion, etc... As someone else also said the veggies are chopped so fine as to be almost minced, which makes them overcooked and they have no distinct flavor. The chicken looked to be just a cooked chicken breast w/ no seasoning, cooked until it was dried out, and had some teriyaki sauce that tasted like it came from a bottle drizzled over it. If we are in the mood for hibachi, we won't be coming back here for it. Based on the hibachi and spring roll only, I would only give Blue Fin a 1-2 star rating. The service was prompt even though the place was nearly full. The server was attentive and just what you look for in a waitress. When we want sushi, we will be back! read more

Roaches. Dirty water. So. Right before lockdown I went here. The waitress had an attitude immediately. I figured maybe she's having a bad day so I'll be even extra kind, bc I'm human, I get it. Well my mom got her stir fried rice, said it tasted really weird, the waitress offered her another plate, my mom declined, the waitress just walks off, we don't see her again as she's left the check. I thought they'd offer to take it off the bill but I guess not. I laugh bc I'm like well she's kinda screwed her tip at this point, but then I realize I've had dirty water this entire time. ‍ I figure well this is still a laughable experience, but then the coup de gras, just about as we get ready to leave - a roach - crawled across our table. We got up, informed the hostess who went over and caught it in a napkin, came back and profusely apologized, and apologized for the rice not being taken off our ticket - but didn't remove it - and we left. I've been to this establishment more than once and each time time food was subpar. But this? This experience cemented my decision to never return.
