My husband and I did sunset cruise together for our anniversary. It was beautiful and we saw a lot of wildlife. The crew was great! Nicole and Kai constantly walk around the boat serving drinks and talking with everyone. Captain Chad is so funny and he loves to party. The only issue I had was the choppy water. I almost threw up and there were several others who got sick. I am normally fine on cruises but it got pretty intense. Be prepared and take some Dramamine beforehand. read more

From beginning to end the experience was fantastic. My wife needed a Gluten Free lunch. After we entered this in the website, the people from the Blue Dolphin office called us to make sure everything they were ordering us for lunch met our needs. As soon as we got to the port my entire family was greeted with smiles. Captain Nate and his crew were outstanding. They were attentive, informative and friendly every minute of the five hours we were on the tour. They couldn't do enough. We saw a Humpback whale that the crew identified as not well. We did the Na Pali coast and scuba tour. 5.5 hours. My daughters 12,13, and 14 went scuba Diving For the first time. It was amazing. I have been diving for years, but to get them all to go with me was great. Isha (spelling?) was fantastic! Joe the captain was great. He actually had to throw the boat in reverse to miss hitting a momma, Daddy, and baby whale. So thanks for the close ups!!! He was very knowledgeable and gave great information. Personally I was great for the first hour, but after that- ugh sea sickness struck me hard. The crew did everything possible and checked on me constantly to try and help. The snorkeling/scuba was great, little dark, but it was overcast was to start. We had great views of the coastline and some small waterfalls from the rain the night before. We saw rough tooth dolphins and numerous whales. The sun came out later. My family thought the food was great and my husband enjoyed the drinks. Perfect adventure. We went on the sunset cruise yesterday with Danny as our Captain. Everything was perfect ! The staff are enthusiastic about their jobs and can't do enough to make the trip to the Napali coast a great experience for you ! The seas were rough but Captain Dan navigated us through, we came upon a large pod of dolphins that put on a great show for us. I chose this tour for my group because I got the best price for all the same zodiac boat tours. You definitely get your money's worth as we were out on the water for a bit over 5 hours and got to see the Na Pali coast, snorkel, and explore sea caves! However as the staff will remind you this ride is not for anyone with back or neck pain. It is a ROUGH ride and you will be white knuckling at times! In the early morning and along Na Pali coast the seas are calm, but coming back the seas are much rough and you get jostled quite a bit. We also had someone in our party who gets sea sick but she didn't take any medication and had no symptoms! Only when the captain would cut the engine and talk story she would start to feel it. Be sure you park on the gravel lot just outside of the business center because if you don't, then after you check in they'll make you move your car. The company also provides dry bags which are very necessary because your items can easily get wet. They also have a short 2 van ride from the office to the dock, versus the other company Captain Andy's make their customers walk to the dock. The boats can hold about 16 people. If you want more adventure sit in the front, otherwise the middle and back will be less rough but you'll still feel it. The boat also has a large speaker aboard and the captain will bump music throughout your ride which adds to the ride! They provide turkey wraps for lunch and snorkel gear as well for the snorkel spot. However snorkeling was pretty short and they only let us stay in the water for about 20-30 min before we had to head in, eat lunch, and then take off. The biggest pro about the zodiac is its ability to enter the sea caves! Our captain was very skilled and went in pretty deep to the caves. We would hang out around the back for a bit and then she would jet us out and maneuver the boat around the scenic cliffs for an exciting ride! What I liked the most about the tour was the captain J-Sea! My family has done over a dozen zodiac boat tours throughout Hawaii and she was by far the most experienced captain we had. Despite rough seas coming back, J-sea easily maneuvered the boat so we wouldn't have such a turbulent drive. She's very skilled and I would come back just for her as my captain. She also frequently checked on us throughout the ride and gave us rest break to stretch out our arms and hands. However I would not say the same about her first mate Luke. He was pretty much useless. The whole time he was just chilling and had to be reminded to help people. For example while snorkeling he was chatting with the captain and guests on the boat and didn't even see a lady trying to get out from the water and into the boat. Finally my mom had to shout over the boat and tell her to take off her fins and throw them up before she climbed in. And then the cherry on top was on the van ride from the dock to the office, Luke didn't help open the van doors so this poor lady tried to open the doors herself and I saw her fall out of the van and land on the concrete. To be honest, he's very lucky she didn't break her wrist because she fell from the top of the van onto the floor. So seems like the captains are great staff, but the first mates can be hit or miss. For the price and skill of the captain, I would recommend this tour! You are out and on the water for the full 5 hours snorkeling, exploring sea caves, and viewing the famous Napali Coast. The only reason why I would say it was not 5 stars was because the first mate was mediocre. Thank you J-Sea for taking care of us! read more

We did the 2 hour Whale Watch and were disappointed that the whales were not cooperating, but we still had a nice ride on a beautiful day with great guides and good food/drink. We were able to hear the whales through a microphone though. Is there a way to call them in or something? We did see a couple of monk seals and a green turtle. I would encourage anyone taking any of these tours to take Dramamine or something right before boarding. There were a couple of sick people on our tour. read more

We saw many whales, and Captain Nate did a great job pointing them out and teaching us about the whales and Hawaii in general. The service was amazing - both Naya and Sergio did a great job passing around drinks and food as well as checking in on us frequently to see if we needed more to drink or eat. A fantastic way to experience Kauai! Our family took the Na'Pali coast tour and loved every minute of the adventure. The ocean was rough the day we went out, but the crew was very engaged and focused on making sure we had an amazing time even if we could not do everything. The crew was knowledgeable, funny, and caring. The food was great and we enjoyed our Mai Tais on the way back to port! My 6 year old son was with us and loved his time on the boat. He loved being on the front of the boat and watching the dolphins play in the water. And he got to enjoy his first ocean snorkel in a nice cove we stopped in. The worst trip money can buy! We spent $230 each to go on a snorkel boat trip up the Napali coast and never got off the boat! Captain tried to say the water was "dirty " down below! Ugh Weather was perfect, not windy, no rain etc. So many adults and kids got sick- were not allowed to even go swimming! They also had a policy against small children under 5 being allowed. What an amazing experience and what a fun and knowledgeable crew! We all loaded into the boat around 2pm. Once on the boat masks were optional, which was nice. The crew (Naya and Nohili) walked around, kept drinks full, offered snacks, and talked with us. Captain Nate did an amazing job of navigating, anticipating "rougher waters", and explaining the history of the island, which I really enjoyed. Dinner and dessert was served and then as the sun set we got a glass of champagne. You could wonder around the boat freely the entire trip and some of the crew took pictures for us, which I felt was above and beyond. On our trip we saw dolphins (more rare in the afternoon), sea turtles, and even a few humpback whales that came close to the boat to check us out. Honestly, everything about this trip was perfect and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Kauai. The Napoli coastline is stunning and best viewed from the ocean! read more

We just return from an epic vacation in Kauai. Part of our wonderful trip was the snorkeling excursion we booked through Blue Dolphin Charters along the Napali Coast. A HUGE shout out to Captain Chad and his awesome crew Matt, Whitney and Jacob.. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone went home safely and with a wonderful experiance. This was not your average snorkel tour. The best!!! It was so amazing and so fun! We had captain Matt and Joff and they were the best! We Did the adventurous raft that was so fun. Kind of like a wet roller coaster ride. We saw so many spinner dolphins and sea turtles and the most amazing scenery ever! Matt was very knowledgeable and took us into amazing caves. We loved our lunch out on the sea and loved snorkeling with all the fish. The views were amazing that can only been seen from the boat! Loved everything about it. Surprised at how long it was. Captain Danny and Crewmates Rob and Dave made for a fabulous sunset dinner cruise. While we signed up for the Napali Coast, the surf did not allow. The captain came to pick us up for the tour and relayed the surf was too big and we would be going the opposite way. People were allowed to make a choice to get a refund or go. About half the tour canceled, making the company cancel their second boat. Then customers who canceled missed out. We have been on Napali cruises before and this showed parts of the island not seen on shore. We saw Spouting Horn from the ocean, which was a cool vantage point. My kids, 9 and 11, had an absolute blast. The crew were attentive, catering to our every whim. They were helpful with children, older people and everyone in between. The food was good, the drinks had alcohol and the view was breathtaking. I'll definitely be back. read more

So sad, such a beautiful island and the scenery and for the experience to be so shitty because of the crew. This cruise was advertised as buffet dinner cruise with unlimited drinks however, the food was super cheap on a small plate with 2 meat options, rice and salad. When someone at the group requested a second plate they refused to serve him. Christian the bartender was very rude , giving attitude to everyone. Also when they were serving dinner the boat was going so fast that when people were trying to get to their seat the food was spilling everywhere. The boat got so filthy it was so disgusting and difficult to walk around, the worst part is we had to be bare foot since they asked us to take our shoes off and leave it behind. It was way too over priced, not worth it at all. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. read more

We had the most amazing Catamaran trip to the Napali Coast. We are lucky enough to visit Kauai a lot and we have been to the Napali Coast before years ago but this trip was just amazing. First off the crew was fabulous. You really feel catered to by these guys. They were so nice and just awesome with every little thing. The ride out was beautiful and they did some great tour guiding giving us some cool stories about the island and such. The snorkeling was super fun. There isn't a lot to see in the waters around Kauai (in terms of coral and such) but there are fish, turtles and a few more fun Ocean friends and there were a ton of fish when we went so my kids just loved it. I would recommend this as something to add to your list if you get to make it here! read more

My daughters Gabrielle and Gina and myself met at the Blue Dolphin center at 7:30 as planned.Right off the bat we all were impressed with the cleanliness and simple process that Capt Matt led us through. None of us had done a snorkeling charter before but Matt got us pumped for the Na Pali coast immediately. We boarded the van after Matt answered everyone's random questions and concerns Weather was great! We then met Captain Dave at the Zodiac style boat, boarded and after Capt Dave explained the Coast Guard retirements we were off- It was SO Fun!! We had an amazing time on the deluxe morning snorkel. A huge thank you to Captain Elia, JR, Jordan, and Lily. I can't say enough good things about our experience. The captain and crew had great information to share, the ride was beautiful, and the customer service was genuinely remarkable. They took such good care of everyone on the boat, offering water and drinks, checking in frequently, and making sure everyone could move around the boat safely. JR even dived down to grab my husband's snorkel when he lost it in the water (not a short dive!) with such good grace. Everyone on the boat seemed to genuinely care that we were having a great, safe, and fun ride. We spotted spinner dolphins on the way out, and when we saw bottlenose dolphins on the way back, Captain Elia actually turned the boat around for a bit so that we could enjoy watching them swim for awhile - it was truly above and beyond amazing. We took a second boat ride along the coast with another company later in the trip, and while it was very nice, the customer service experience was nothing like at Blue Dolphin - our captain and crew truly set this company apart.
