Big WOW factor with food and treatment from the beginning to the end. Every staff member were accommodating and always check in to see if we needed anything or to make sure none of us were seasick because we had our children with us. Saw staff helping those who were feeling sick by bringing them towels, water, and anything they needed. The food was yummy and delicious. Staff provided lots of information about the areas we saw, background history about Kauai, and we saw dolphins/sea turtles. Will definitely do the boat tour again when we visit! read more

We have taken several chartered boat tours up the Na Pali Coast over the years. This year, we traveled aboard Blue Dolphin with Captain Nate at the helm. It was hands down our favorite trip! Captain Nate and his crew (Matt and Jackson) were very attentive to all on the boat. We got up close and personal with the cliffs of Na Pali and heard about the rich history, stories not told on other boats. We saw so many dolphins - an incredible site! Lots of great photos ops including an incredible sunset, the Na Pali Coast is always stunning. Dinner was good - and the ride back to port with Captain Nate's playlist led to half the boat singing and dancing. Our boat came into port having a great time! We had amazing snorkel/NaPali coast tour with Blue Dolphin! The day started with a double rainbow and included pods of dolphins jumping beside our boat, multiple whale sightings, a sea turtle, stunning views of the NaPali coast, snorkeling, and a friendly/informative crew. It was a magical day in Kauai and one of my favorite memories from our trip! Well worth the money! We did the 5 hour morning tour. Waves are calmer in the morning, but we still took Dramamine the night before and the morning of to avoid seasickness (as well as wearing anti-nausea wristbands). The waters were rough end of February, but all of those precautions helped us avoid getting sick so we could enjoy the ride! Elia, Anjah, Kevin, and Ruby gave us a great tour! We thoroughly enjoyed our outing up the Napoli coast yesterday. I think the crew makes or breaks the experience as there's no control over weather-which was also perfectly clear. Our captain J. Sea was terrific; so knowledgeable and fun. How could this beautiful Hawaiian, 100 pound woman control this boat but she did it with ease. She was so knowledgeable about the area and had all the historical details that made it so interesting as well. We also saw more whales than we did on any whale watch trip! Her crew members included Jayce, Nicole & Rowan were fabulous. They helped anyone and everyone that needed help maneuvering the boat, safety being their first and foremost concern. They chatted with everyone, served a delicious meal and poured endless drinks; water/juice/soda and the open bar (for a good two hours) was just that, no shortage of drinks for those of age...topped off with baby bubbles at the end. Please don't go if you get motion sickness AT ALL. So many people got sick on our cruise, myself included. I can't remember the last time I felt that bad. There were no warnings from the company or crew of rough seas before we sailed. I'm sure they know a percentage of folks would get sick and just accept it as normal. It was not normal for us. It is torture to be that seasick and be trapped on a boat for 5 hrs. Also, we were specifically looking for a snorkeling trip, but only 1 hr out of 5 was actually spent snorkeling. The rest was spent motoring through very rough seas up and down the coast. I had to double check the description of what we signed up for, and that wasn't it. While I was sick my boyfriend tried to get me something to eat after they rang the chow bell and he was very rudely scolded by the crew for helping himself despite several others doing the same. He would have followed the rules if they had been announced. Then, to top it all off, they bring you your credit card receipt to sign at the end of the trip, even though they run your card when you check in before you even board. To your face they tell you where to write in the tip. I've been on a lot of charters and this was a first. Shady and coercive. A very expensive disappointment. Could not wait to get off of that boat. read more

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME! Myself and 7 of my family and friends attended the 1:45pm luau dinner sunset na pali boat tour on January 17th, 2022. We wanted to write a review about our experience on yelp, and google reviews to prevent others from wasting their time and money on this place. Given that we each paid 167.33 per person for a dinner tour, we were expecting a luau dinner, however, we all felt this was false advertisement, given what we received was comparable to airplane/jail food. -In this charter boat, we had captain Nate, Luke and Christian. Luke was great and pleasant, however, during each interaction with Christian, we were met with attitude, shortness and it seemed that we were a bother. This was felt by 6 out of the 8 people on our group. This was such a negative experience, that not only did we all separately experience this, it prevented us from going back for another drink, or even water. -during lunch time, a few of us were not a fan of the chicken nor the pork due to the freshness and quality of both. Therefore we wanted to get additional salad or rice. When we asked for more rice or salad, he proceeded to tell the girl that seconds are not allowed. One of our group members was not happy with any of the food and was still hungry. She went back for a cookie given she was still starving, and he proceeded to ask "what group are you in?" And she answered and upon answering, he said they didn't have any left. When another group approached for cookies, Luke provided them with cookies. I want to emphasize that we spent 167 dollars a person to be met with low quality food, absolutely offensive service and attitude. I do however want to note that the Na Pali coast was beyond breathtaking and Captain Nate was very knowledgeable, easy going, and entertaining. Additionally, the water, weather and boat was up to par with regards to the services. But I do want to note that our service and food quality were atrocious. read more

We took the 7-hour Na Pali Coast and Ni'ihau snorkling tour during whale watching season. We saw tons of whales, although none of them close up. We did have 2 different pods of spinner dolphins swim and jump with the boat, and a pod of bottlenose dolphins. The Na Pali Coast is unbelievably beautiful, of course, and is worth the trip - any trip - too see it. The snorkeling on Ni'ihau is really disappointing. There's not much to see, and it's so deep there that you're not close to any of the sea life. Mostly it's just gray with sparse fish. Not worth the money if snorkeling is your priority. There's better snorkeling behind the Sheraton in Poipu. And this is nothing like the amazing snorkeling you can do off the Molokini crater off of Maui. The staff are really nice, and I enjoyed spending time talking with them. They treat you well. The food is pretty good (standard sandwich fare), and the chocolate chip cookies are worth eating by the handful! You need a car to get to the harbor, and be there on time! read more

We booked the last whale watching trip on the last day of the season, preparing ourselves mentally to be disappointed and not getting our hopes up to see any whales. With fingers crossed but expectations low, we boarded the catamaran and prepared to head out to sea. It quickly became apparent that this was going to be fun even if we didn't see any whales. Captain Chad and his crew of Quinn and Whitney were awesome! They were funny, helpful, and most of all, competent and focused on everyone's safety. Full speed ahead with music blasting and Mai Tai's being handed out while the sun shone down and the salty spray around us, the view of the island's gorgeous coast line was captivating. If you are prone to sea sickness or love some slight turbulence, please note that there was a lot of bouncing on the waves. And then, Capt. Chad announced that we should face 10 o'clock. WHALES!!! A pod of 3 humpbacks were traveling along the coast and put on quite a show for us. It was an amazing experience to see them and one that I won't forget! As the sun set, the trip back was beautiful. Flying fish skittered just above the water and sea birds disappeared behind tall waves. While docking, it was clear that our boat had the fun crew. Other tours were solemnly disembarking their vessels while our cohort was cheering and singing along with the songs over the PA. Captain Joe, Ruby, Kaeloha, and Zach helped my little family of four have the most amazing experience. We felt so lucky to see whales, seals, colorful fish, dolphins, unbelievable views, ... We booked knowing weather is unpredictable, and we completely understand that we got insanely lucky. A must do while in Kauai! This is my second time in Kauai, and last time we did another tour from a different company that wasn't as good. This time, the crew was amazing! They played with the kids, had conversations with passengers, and just overall went above and beyond when trying to make things fun. I was expecting them to be super strict about rules on the boat, but there were only a couple of rules that were easy to follow and they always kindly reminded you if you broke them. Lots of great information about all we saw, an eagle eye for spotting marine life (we saw a whale very late in the season, dolphins, sea turtles, and even a Monk Seal, and he has stored up all the terrible jokes and puns he gathered in his 3 decades of working this cruise. The crew, Ki and Mercedes, were friendly, funny, and constantly moving to attend to many people in a small space. Several of our best pictures were taken by them. Truly the most unusual music for a Luau that I've ever heard. Starting with Michael Jackson and running through the 60's, 70's, and early 80's. Clearly the driver gets to pick the music. The one star is for the company and the trip, NOT for the captain and crew. They were friendly and helpful and did the best they could considering the conditions. I went out on a Blue Dolphin Charter Catamaran for a 3 1/2 hr ride on Thursday, October 19th, 2023 excited about snorkeling. I then was very disappointed learning that 48 hours before we left on our excursion that the company knew their guests would likely not be able to snorkel due to very high ocean swells yet didn't offer us the opportunity to cancel our trip. When our ride was not even half way over many of the guests, including children, had to get barf bags because of feeling sea sick. This charter boat shouldn't have gone out in the first place. How fun is that? Even though they did suggest taking preventative seasickness medicine , still no fun. Because of many guests feeling sick, the company saved money on food and drinks and also the crew did not have to prep/clean snorkel equipment, etc. So I paid big money to ride a boat to see some dolphins and cliffs. read more

Let me start by saying this tour was worth EVERY penny (and then some.) We spent our day touring the Napali Coast on the raft tour. The beaches, cliffs, waterfalls, and sightseeing were insane it was so spectacular. Nate and Ke' Aloha were 1) hysterical and 2) so well versed on the history and insights about the scenery. We were so glad we chose the raft tour so we could actually go inside of the sea caves. The quality of the tour was exceptional. Ke' Aloha is a local and very well versed on the tides and ocean. I wanted to book a Napali Coast cruise but the hubby was skeptical about spending the money. So a few days on the island he says to book it but everyone is booked. We happened to be in town where the offices were and asked to be on a cancellation list. We got a call within a few hours saying they had availability for the sunset snorkel dinner cruise which is 5.5 hours. Captain Chad says he's going to show us a great time. He asked who got motion sick in a car which I thought was weird he didn't ask about a boat. I have never been sea sick but I do get car sick. Along we go for about 1 hour, stop to snorkel for about 30 minutes...that's it! Most people got out anyway after just a few minutes because of the hydroids which are part of the jellyfish family...everyone was getting stung! Then on to dip the catamaran under a waterfall...back and forth, back and forth, back and forth. That was it, I got sick over the edge of the boat. "Fun" Captain Chad decided he would do the waterfall thing two more times along the way. Now someone else was sick too. The rest of the people were too drunk to care from all the Mai Tais. So drunk to the point of falling over and passed out. Now...let's have drunk people sing karaoke! Now dinner was served. Couldn't stand the smell and had to have the family leave me alone. I puked for the next 4 hours! My family thought the boat ride was the highlight of the trip but it was my worst part. Hubby said it was the best pineapple he had on the islands and dinner in general was good. Before disembarking, Chad told us to give them a 5 star on Yelp and if you don't give a 5 star, just stay off. Then he told me and the other sick person we didn't follow instructions to not get sick. Welp, that pissed me off! Here's your 3 stars Chad! read more

We took the Deluxe NaPali coast snorkel tour on 10/19/23. There was a big swell that week and the company called two days before to warn us to take seasick meds if needed. They didn't say anything about the possibility of not being able to snorkel. Snorkeling was the reason we booked this tour. (Friends recommended them). I feel that since they are familiar with area weather and ocean conditions, they knew we would not be able to snorkel and should have given us a heads up and the opportunity to cancel. That being said the captain and crew did a great job keeping us hydrated, entertained and fed. And we did see lots of dolphins. read more

Captain Nate, and crew members Kai and Collin did a phenomenal job of explaining the history of the landscape and culture that we passed on the cruise of the Napali Coast. They also provided great food, snacks, and beverages, in addition to catering to any needs and requests of the passengers. Some of which included great photography that came in handy for the amazing mountain/cliff-side views and breathtaking sunset. These guys set the bar quite high and are exceptional. Captain Chad and his crew were amazing and constantly ensuring that everyone had a good time and stayed safe along with having a spectacular adventure. We had chosen to go on the Niihau & Na Pali Snorkel tour as our first adventure as husband and wife on September 10th. Yes, we had gotten married the night before at sunset on the beach. So, a water adventure seemed quite fitting. Although, it wasn't easy trying to figure out just who was the best to choose. And these guys weren't rated as #1 on Google, I'm guessing that is only from jaded "Yelp" reviews. The one company (X) whom was rated high, I was very unimpressed with their quotes on there website as far as people with extra pounds or older. So, we had selected Blue Dolphin for our 1st tour and then another company (Y) for a Napali sunset dinner cruise. There was absolutely no comparison between the companies honestly. Company (Y) may have had newer, faster boats, and friendly staff, but they were far from great....  mediocre at best. Which after having a spectacular day literally the day before made the dinner cruise pretty disappointing. So, your probably wondering just what makes these guys exceptional??? They offer a variety of cruises / boat tours. We choose the Niihau and Napali Coast Snorkle Tour.  Niihau is what they refer to as the Forbidden Island, the snorkel location is just in front of that island next to a really small island. It's an all day adventure with about 8 hours on the water, 1 hour is snorkeling at about 30 foot depth, next to a deep sea shelf which I believe is one of the reasons you see such a spectacular assortment of fish. But this is where I need to be totally honest, this was my first time snorkeling and in 30 ft depth was extremely intimidating. I kept thinking what the other Company (X) had on there website about the over weight and unexperienced and opted to just hang out on the boat and take pictures. That didn't last long at all, not even 5 minutes. After everyone else was in the water Captain Chad asked me what's up,  why I wasn't in the water?? I was honest with him,  and he provided me with encouragement to go try it and reassured me that I was safe. He didn't have to do that. We had already paid for the day and he really didn't gain anything from that. But, that's just how they all are. They truly care and provide excellent customer service. From the moment you board the boat they are constantly ensuring that you are safe, providing you with drinks, food, answering questions, taking pictures of you with your loved one, sharing local stories, the knowledge base they have of the area and sea.... and most of all how I witnessed just how they help someone whom unfortunately ends up sea sick. it didn't matter whom you were, guy or girl, old or young, skinny or fat...  everyone was treated with beyond excellent care. I watched 2 guys on our tour get sick and the crew taking care of them. The crew would actually be so intuned with the people that they would realize the people were sick before it happened. Company (Y) had people get sick and they were pretty much on there own with not much care at all. Which just made you appreciate the Blue Dolphin that much more!! The day was perfect.... thanks to Captain Chad and his crew. I got to snorkel for the 1st time at the age of 49 with my husband the day after our wedding. We saw a school of dolphins on our way back, which I had really wanted to see during our honeymoon. We watched the sunrise on the water, saw a sacred island from the water, viewed a breathtaking Coast line that has so much character and undisturbed. Saw monk seals swimming with us as we were snorkeling. Saw many sea caves, which made me want to explore inside (we didn't this trip though), saw waterfalls and even got splashed by 1, because we were able to go under it. We had an adventurous 8 hours of total spectacular beauty with an amazing crew. Oh, should mention the fact they provide Mai Tai's and other drinks, snack foods and sandwich lunch. It's simple, but perfect for the boat. Word of caution - BRING sunscreen and make sure to put it on your feet. No shoes of any sort are allowed on the boat. My husband learned the hard way and ended up sunburnt severely on his feet. We will definitely be back Not sure when, but we will return and go again and go on the sea cave tour as well. This is the only company I will go with after our exceptional experience, especially after hearing feedback from other tourist at the resort we stayed at whom went with other companies. read more

My mom and I had so much fun this morning! We did the deluxe snorkeling tour and were very happy that we did; it was such a beautiful and relaxing way to see the Nāpali Coast / more of the south side of Kauai. The best part was all of the wonderful staff on board - Captain Christian taught us so much about what we were seeing, Danny always made sure my mom was feeing okay , Joff and Yoav did a great job with the drinks / reminding me not to swim too far towards the reef lol sorry again Joff / everything, and shoutout to Whitney who killed it on her first day . Service was excellent, the entire crew always made sure people on board had drinks and snacks (in addition to breakfast and lunch) - within two minutes of leaving the harbor, I had a fruit juice offered to me! If you're thinking about going, it's definitely worth it. Make sure to take Dramamine! read more
