My group did the Nā Pali Raft Tour and it was amazing! Captain Ruby and crew member Page took such great care of us--super attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Truly a wonderful experience. Highly recommend!
Enjoyed an awesome sunset dinner cruise with Blue Dolphin, complete with several close-up whale sightings and a couple dolphins spotted as well. Captain Kai was competent, informative, and very funny, as was crewmember Vayden, and Collin's mai tais are not to be missed. The food onboard was delicious and included traditional Hawaiian pulled pork and teriyaki chicken. Scrumptious cookies and bubbly rounded out the evening. Some things to be aware of: This cruise is on a catamaran; some of our party were expecting a small cruise ship that would have been a smoother ride. Waves are bumpy, and the windier parts of the trip resembled a mild roller coaster--if that's not your thing or you know you can experience some motion sickness, please factor that into your decision to book a trip. That being said, one person in our party experienced some light motion sickness and was really well cared for by the crew. We really appreciated their kindness and support. If you have sturdy sea legs and an adventurous spirit, I'd highly recommend this excursion. The views of Kauai from the ocean are worth it alone, but the information from the captain and crew about the island and its culture are also super valuable. The whole experience also felt very safe; the cruise will not go to areas with high wind/surf, and on our trip the captain explained why he was turning out of the wind/waves when he made that decision.
This was hands down one of the highlights of our trip to Kauai! We had a group of five, and I truly can't say enough good things about Capt. Kealoha, Evan, Kawika, and Aina. From the second we got on the boat, they made everyone feel welcome and were so friendly, funny, and accommodating. They took the time to engage with everyone on board, which made the whole experience feel really personal. Capt. Kealoha did an incredible job sharing the history of the Nā Pali Coast, pointing out famous movie filming locations, and explaining the history of different landmarks along the way. It made the trip so much more than just a beautiful boat ride, it felt like we were getting a personal tour of one of the most stunning places in Hawaii. When it was time to snorkel, the crew made sure everyone felt comfortable and informed before getting in the water. They even jumped in with us, which made the experience even more fun and reassuring. The two kids in our group had an absolute blast and haven't stopped talking about it! The views were unreal, the crew made the entire day so much fun, and we left talking about how glad we were that we booked with Blue Dolphin Charters. If you're visiting Kauai and thinking about doing a Nā Pali Coast tour, this is the one. I would recommend them over and over again!
Lilly was absolutely amazing and helped make our cruise experience in Hawaii unforgettable. She went above and beyond to take care of me and my sister when we started feeling a little nauseous. Her kindness, professionalism, and genuine concern for our well-being really stood out. She checked in on us, made sure we were comfortable, and helped us get back to enjoying the trip. It's people like Lilly who make a great experience even better. Her positive attitude and excellent customer service made us feel welcome and cared for throughout the cruise. Our captain was amazing very helpful and informative. The crew was helpful and funny. The vibes were great. It was a sunset cruise even the captain was surprised to see dolphins. My kids had fun and it was the best experience they had in Kauai. We will definitely book a snorkel adventure for next time with the same company.
My husband and I did not have a great time, but not because the fault of the crew, but because we had really bad motion sickness! Along the way the ride was pretty smooth. Our captain, Kai, was giving all sorts of interesting facts about the island and coastline. My husband and I were good until we reached the Napali coast and the waves got too choppy for us. I guess we are especially prone to motion sickness even after taking Dramamine. The coast itself was beautiful. It was a nice clear day and we were able to see the ridges on the Napali coast. We were good long enough to take some pictures and then we got really sick. I think we made the mistake of sitting on the top of the boat rather than the bottom. We had booked the dinner cruise, but unfortunately were not able to keep anything down. We also missed the champagne toast. One crew member noticed how much we're struggling and made sure to keep a close eye on us. He offered us water and ice many times to help keep us hydrated. He even packed us a plate so we can take our dinner home. I think his name was Vayder. He was outstanding. We didn't have the best time, but a glass half full type of person. We saw the beautiful coastline and the crew was great (Kai, Vayder, and Collin). The Napali coast is not something you will see very often, so book the tour! Perhaps be a little more prepared for any motion sickness if are sensitive to it.
We had an absolutely incredible experience with Blue Dolphin Charters! From the moment we stepped on board, the crew operated like a well-oiled machine. They were organized, professional, and genuinely seemed to love what they do. We traveled the morning of July 9th (for credit to our crew). We did the breakfast/lunch snorkel and Nāpali coast catamaran. What stood out most was how well they cared for everyone on the boat. They were constantly checking in to make sure guests were comfortable, helping people safely up and down the stairs, serving food and drinks, and making the entire experience feel like an all-inclusive resort on the water. Every crew member was kind, upbeat, and made you feel like they were truly happy you were there. Our captain was fantastic--he was fun, knowledgeable, and full of interesting information about the Nā Pali Coast. We never felt rushed, and they even stopped so everyone could take photos of the breathtaking scenery. We traveled with our 15-year-old son and 10-year-old daughter, and both had an amazing time. There were also several younger children on board, and the crew was wonderful with them as well. The boat was clean, spacious, and easy to move around, which made the trip comfortable for everyone. The food was delicious, and the entire day exceeded our expectations. As if the stunning coastline wasn't enough, we were lucky enough to see two different pods of dolphins swimming alongside the boat--an unforgettable experience! The biggest compliment I can give? The next morning my 10-year-old daughter asked if we could book another trip because she loved it that much. If you're considering a Nā Pali Coast tour, don't hesitate--book with Blue Dolphin Charters. It was worth every penny, and the views are truly once-in-a-lifetime.
Fantastic whale watching with an attentive, relaxed crew We did the 2-hour whale watching cruise with Blue Dolphin Charters, and it was excellent. We saw multiple breaches, tail slaps, fluke dives, and surface activity--the whales were active the entire time. The crew positioned the boat so well that we were able to stay in one great viewing spot and still see everything without moving around. The crew was incredibly attentive without being overbearing. Drinks and snacks were always taken care of--Mai Tais, coconut cookies, and snacks kept coming--and it genuinely felt effortless to just relax and enjoy the experience. The team was knowledgeable, calm, and respectful of the whales, offering helpful context without over-talking. The boat was comfortable, well run, and the two-hour length felt just right. If whale watching is on your list in Kauaʻi, Blue Dolphin is an easy recommendation
We did the sunset cruise and we loved it! We got to see the mountains and enjoyed a good meal as well. Drinks were complimentary. My wife and I seeked out adventure whenever we could find the chance- be careful, you will get soaked!!! We did not see any dolphins but did see plenty of good views!! Beautiful sunset with your loved one makes this very romantical.
Absolutely A1 amazing experience with the charming and skilled crew led by a phenomenal female Capt J-Sea with Zeke, Pa'a, & Kelani!! Superb snorkeling site, two pods of spinner dolphins, attentive crew for all travelers, and clear expectations about Mother Nature as we made it all the way to a summer turnaround in the winter!! Kudos for a fabulous experience!!

Great adventure and even better people, staff were amazing - Stacy, Jackson, Mr. Alaska & the Captain went above and beyond. Blue Dolphin is a fantastic experience. Great crew, the boat is pristine and extremely comfortable and safe. The food and drinks are excellent. Captain Evan is more than a boat captain. He is a great teacher and speaker and knows details of Hawaiian ancient history that other tours I have taken do not bring out. His boat driving skills are amazing. He was able to put a 65 foot catamaran into a sea cave and give a waterfall shower to the passengers who wanted to get cooled off! The other crew members, Rob, Zollie and CJ, are fantastic. They seem sincerely happy to be there. They are super attentive. My wife and I are older so we really appreciated their help anytime we needed anything. The food is great. They serve a luau style meal with the works. The beers are top shelf Maui Brewing Company IPA and a lighter ale. Even the sparkling wine for the champagne toast was of good quality. Also their Mai Tai's are not cheap tourist drinks. They are hand mixed and have a decent dark rum float, outstanding! No rot gut grog on this boat!!! We were sad to see it end. So fun! I honestly would never have booked a Na Pali Coast tour but due to a big group trip to Kauai, we decided to buy tickets and I have zero regrets! If you book in advance, they do have an online discount via their website. Beyond the great reviews, I chose Blue Dolphin because of one particular thing...a lot of other tour companies serve wine and beer but at Blue Dolphin, they also provide Mai Tais. Win! They start you off with an info/safety session and a chance to win free shirts (Here's one of the answers: HUMUHUMUNUKUNUKUAPUA'A). Captain Joe and his crew made a solid team! I enjoyed listening to the stories and history of certain spots on Kauai. Hello Jurassic Park! We got extremely lucky and spotted dolphins and two humpback whales (so early in the season...!). The boat wasn't nearly as rocky as I thought it'd be (thank you Captain for your Dramamine warning) but I did still feel the effects of it for hours after. For the morning excursion, they provided cinnamon rolls and a sandwich bar (with Mac salad of course). One of my favorite moments had to be when you stopped for snorkeling - so many beautiful fish to see and I love it when boats have slides you can zoom down on! read more

We had an amazing experience on our snorkel And sail morning tour with Blue Dolphin. The staff was seriously amazing and went out of their way to help. They went to grab my five year old a towel as she had fallen asleep so that it could cover her from the water splashing on the deck as she was laying on me. It was a beautiful trip. Would have loved to have done the forbidden island tour but was worried about the weather. We truly had a beautiful day and saw turtles, dolphins and even a breaching whale. read more

Nate, Kevin and Brian were all the best! Knowledgeable, attentive, professional and fun. This trip was worth every penny and more! We went further up the coast because we had calm winds, went under waterfalls, saw whales and watched the sunset on our way back in. The food and drinks were good. Our captain avoided the rain on the return and let us enjoy the spray of the salt water with a good playlist to boot. Definitely happy I did this trip and would recommend. read more

Best experience on the island. The staff is friendly, attentive, and funny. We got to see turtles, a shark, spinner dolphins, and of course the beautiful na Pali coast. Food and drinks they provide were delicious. High end sandwich materials and their aloha maid juice. I had to dock a star cause there were SO many rules (which I get for safety) but especially during snorkeling, we were restricted to the size of someone's living room. Also it was away from a big reef so the fish were all the way on the bottom, hard to see. Otherwise had a great time. read more

I rarely write reviews, but felt compelled to after taking the stunning and entertaining Sunset Na Pali Coast tour this week with Captain Chad and his crew (Megan, Nicole, and Billy). The tour took us around the coast with a 1 hour stop for snorkeling/jumping off the boat/playing on the water slide. Captain Chad did a great job explaining the historical and spiritual significance of different cliffs, landmarks and waterfalls, as well as pointing out places where movies and music videos were filmed! We saw turtles, dolphins, and a few goats (i.e., small moving dots on the distant cliffs). On the way back to the harbor, Captain Chad and Billy treated us to karaoke and a dance party. The boat ride is long, so prepare to relax. If you're a traveler that needs to be in control of every moment on your trip - understand that this experience will vary based on the motion of the ocean. We had a relatively smooth ride, but when the water gets rough you have to sit tight and you will get wet! Prepare for lots of sun and for the fact that pictures do not do justice to the magnificence of the Na Pali Coast. Tips: -For the best view and most relaxing seat, sit in the last row on the second floor. You will get SOAKED if you sit in the front of the boat on the first floor. -Wear a swimsuit onto the boat that you feel comfortable spending a lot of time in (including swimming, going up and down stairs, and walking around strangers!). -Our tour was windy but not cold. I wore a swimsuit the whole time. Some people wore jackets when the sun went down. -Do not bring a full-face snorkel mask (you are not allowed to use them). You also don't need to bring your own snorkel gear at all, unless you prefer it. The tour will provide snorkel masks, flippers, life jackets and pool noodles. -You can order a vegetarian dinner for no extra cost when you book your ticket. Enjoy! read more

My wife and I figured we would end our 3 week honeymoon with a sunset cruise along the north coast of Kauai and what a nice experience it was. Now as a disclaimer the waters on the north side of the island can be rough and to get to see these sights you need to go threw these waters. For those that dont sail or have never been on the water much might think these waters are to rough, as I have read in previous reviews. However let me assure you as a merchant mariner of over 10 years this boat can handle these seas and furthermore the captain would never put his passengers threw anything that would harm them. So if you get sea sick easily or nervous easily this is probably not for you. Now, the cruise was a great time and we got to see some amazing sights, including marine wildlife(whales/dolphins/turtles). The food was average Hawaiian food but not bad by any means. They had a nice little bar towards the second half of the cruise which featured maui beer, wine, and a local mixed drink. Crew was great and all local. Id definitely recommend this cruise if your up for some very modest seas. read more

A must see experience. The food was surprisingly good and the crew was attentive, friendly and very hard working. I appreciate the home cooked meal with salad, teriyaki chicken, pulled Hawaiian pork, pineapples and rice and to top it off some home baked cookies. This is served on the sunset cruise. The Captain, Danny is incredibly talented with maneuvering the boat up to a waterfall along the Napali coast with the chop on the water, pretty amazing skills if you ask me. My wife and I did the Napali coast sunset tour. It was a lot of fun. The captain had a great personality. The crew was very knowledgeable. It was fun sitting near the front of the boat. The food actually wasn't bad... We really had a phenomenal time on the tour. The coast is beautiful - the breeze with the water is nice. We saw a huge turtle and some endangered seals. Apparently if you go in the am you see dolphins (no dolphins with us). If you are debating going - just do it! Totally worth it! When will you be in Kauai again. read more

We had such an amazing time on the morning snorkel and Napali coast tour. Our captain Cole and crew Shae, Zack and Kai were amazing. They were all so knowledgeable and helpful. Travelled from Chicago for a family vacation and decided to take a sunset cruise with Blue Dolphin. We ended up having an amazing time with Captain Nate and his crew! Captain Nate was not only entertaining and engaging but also very well studied on the history of the island. He shared historical events and native folk tales with the passengers while outlining geological formations and points of interest. We had the pleasure of being served by Naya and Billy and both were amazing! Both were kind, funny, and eager to help and serve. We saw a whale breach, sea turtles and amazing island views. The views and happenings around us were incredible but it really was the phenomenal service from Billy, Naya, and Captain Nate that set Blue Dolphin apart. They all seem like genuinely good people and seemed to truly enjoy their jobs! We absolutely will be back, thank you to the crew! PS ask about Capt. Nate's Goat Guarantee read more

Awesome crew!!! We had Captain Joe and his crew that day. Although it was an awesome experience, how the crew members treated everyone stands out to me most. It stormed a few days before so the water was unfortunately murky, so be mindful of the weather before booking if you can help it during your stay. Didn't spend too much time snorkeling actually. Majority of the charter is driving from the snorkel spot to the Na Pali Coast and back, but once you get there, the views of the Na Pali Coast are spectacular. Pictures don't do it any justice! If you get motion sickness, a scopolamine patch worked great for me! read more

This was my first time to Hawaii and I heard about this tour through my resort. This boat tour was fantastic! The crew was amazing. I had Captain Evan, Stacey and Jackson. Upon starting the tour they provided us with all the safety. Throughout the tour they continuously checked on everyone. They were all very welcoming and made sure everyone was taken care of the entire time. I would definitely do this again with them!! read more

Just returned from a 7 hour charter - snorkeling off Lehia and a tour of the Napali coast. What a fantastic day. We saw tons of humpbacks, and the snorkeling was amazing. By far the best part of this tour was the way we were taken care of by the crew. They were beyond thoughtful. Jayce and Kai were available for anything we needed. Aside from serving us breakfast, coffee, snacks, drinks, lunch, cookies, basically anything you could want - they looked after every detail - helping us up or down stairs, holding drinks as we moved around, helping with the snorkeling gear, watching over us in the water, pointing out whales, seals, dolphins, and turtles and answering a million questions. They were kind and enthusiastic and really made our day special. We felt like uber rich people on our own yacht! They anticipated every need. Truly I have never had such a positive experience. I also want to shout out our captain- Evan. He was informative and did some stellar driving - dunking several people under a waterfall off the coast and providing a myriad of photo opportunities. This is a day we will never forget and a tour I highly recommend. If you're uncertain which charter to choose- your money will be well spent with Blue Dolphin Charters and your experience will be memorable. read more

Was there a cabin where you can sit inside the boat and not be in the sun? Have a 5 y/o who burns easily (will apply lots of sunscreen of course)
Yes they do! That is where my 4 year old niece stayed most of the time.
Should we pack a lunch?
No. The 4 hrs trip includes buffet lunch, water, drinks and a champagne toast by sunset.
What is their cancellation policy? Is it refundable?
24 hour cancellation policy for a full refund.
How is the covid policy in the charter? I am concerned about social distancing during dinner and how is the load percentage on board.
Not sure of the load percentage on board, but it was a limited amount of people (maybe 30?) There was no buffet dinner, but staff served you a container with lid with your choice of pork/chicken, rice, Mac salad etc.…
Can anyone tell me what time you need to be there for the deluxe Na Pali snorkel and scuba tour? It just says morning on their website. We're staying way on the north shore. Thanks.

They dont have a dedicated photographer, but they will offer to take your photo with your camera.
