I 100% recommend booking through Blue Dolphin to do their Zodiac tour along the Napali Coast. This is our 2nd time doing this tour but the 1st time with this company. We had such a blast with the jokes from our Captain Kay'Aloha (probably spelled that wrong, I apologize!) And Jojo. They were story tellers and jokers. Did a 2 hour sunset/whale watching cruise. Crew was extremely communicative, friendly and kept the drinks/snacks flowing even while we were focused on the whales. Special shout out to Jayce who ran around giving drinks with a smile after a 12 hour work day. Got lucky and saw multiple whale sightings but it's nice just to be on the water and see the amazing ocean. This was our 2nd trip with Blue Dolphin Charters and they did not fail to exceed our expectations one again. We sailed with Cpt. ?, Ruby, and Jayce and they were excellent (even though I can't remember the Captains name). My wife has trouble walking long distances and they accommodated us...all we had to do was ask. I read many of the complaints regarding Blue Dolphin tours, and I can say that for both of our trips, I have not experienced any problems. We arrived early to find the crew cleaning the boat top to bottom and preparing everything for a great cruise. We did the whale watching tour and we saw a lot of whales. The captain kept us on them as they moved around, in fact we had one swim directly under the boat and break right in front of us. I heard a complaint about the boats being rust buckets. There is rust for sure...the boat is in the ocean, and even though maintenance is a regular thing, rust still happens. Don't let the naysayers spoil a great trip. We have tried other providers, and we have found that Blue Dolphin Charters is far superior. read more

A great day was had by all! Captain and crew were engaging and attentive. We were constantly asked how were and if we needed anything. My friends and I visited Kauai for a week for our college spring break and we wanted to book something fun and affordable. After looking on tripadvisor.com, we came across Blue Dolphin Charters. We booked the Poipu Sunset Cruise & Seasonal Whale Watch tour, and it was absolutely amazing. Check in began at 4:15pm, everyone boarded the boat by 4:45pm and the boat departed shortly before 5:00pm. The tour was 2 hours long and we were able to see a gorgeous sunset. The boat also arrived back to the port before dark which was nice. We were able to spot dolphins, 2-3 different whales, and the crew put a mic in the water so we could hear the whales! The sail boat was larger than expected and was in great condition. You can tell the crew spend's a lot of time up-keeping the boat. There was plenty of seating on both levels. The Captain and crew were so fun and interactive and helped us enjoy our time on board, safely. The crew even offered to take a photo of our group with a rainbow in the back ground! The employees were also very helpful when we had some issues arriving on time. Due to unexpected traffic, we were unable to arrive before check-in on our originally scheduled day. Thankfully, the manager was able to reschedule our tour for the next day. 10/10 Recommend! read more

We went on their 2-hour sunset/whale watch tour on a Sunday night and were super lucky to see tons of whale. Captain Ben and crew Ky and Cloe did a great job overall taking care of people and helping ensure all had fun. Almost immediately outside the harbor we came upon a group of three whale who approached very close to the boat and put on quite a show. We saw other whales during the cruise but nothing that beat the drama of that lucky first encounter. Captain Ben was rocking a fun soundtrack and narrating the interaction with the whales. You are free to move about the boat so long as you are hanging on. We hung out mostly on the upper deck for best view of whales and less people (max around 50 people-mostly adults but some families too). The cruise also included beer, wine and some light snacks and even a (cheap) sparkling wine toast as the sun slipped below the horizon. We pulled back into port around 10-15 minutes after the sunset. Recently took a snorkeling trip to the Napoli coast and it was great! the crew members were: captain Ellia, DJ, Jr, and Jarrett, and they were all very helpful and fun to be around. The boat does get rocky so I would not recommend this to people who are susceptible to motion sickness or young kids also because the snorkeling is for a more advanced swimmer. Our trip started at 7am with a cinnamon role breakfast. The journey to the Napoli coast is around an hour and a half. The view of the coast was astounding and the snorkeling was too. After the snorkeling, you get a sandwich lunch and a tour along the coast. Captain Ellia was very informative and hilarious. Overall 10/10 experience. read more

I booked the Niihau & NaPali Coast Snorkel Tour 2 months before my vacation. It is offered 2 times a week. Blue Dolphin called me the week of my vacation, 6 days before my tour to notify me that my tour was being cancelled for low attendance. They offered to rebook me for a different day, but I've already made plans for the other days in my vacation and can't move them around. What a joke, I rebooked my tour with their competitor, Holo Holo Charters. To the management of Blue Dolphin, there are multiple ways you can handle this better. You should have let me know earlier that you are canceling my tour. You can't let me know less than a week in advance and reasonably expect me to shift my plans around to a different day. Alternatively, just run the tour at a loss. You committed to selling this tour, you should honor your side of the bargain. That is the cost of doing business. Another alternative, if the tour isn't filling up, try offering discounts on the days leading up to the tour to entice others to books. Another alternative, offer to rebook me a different day, but give me a discount for the inconvenience of having to shift my other vacation plans around. There are several better ways of handling this, none of which you took. I recommend you reconsider this business practice of canceling tours less than 1 week before. I will not be recommending Blue Dolphin charters to my family and friends or purchasing their other tours. read more

The Napali Coast is truly astounding....to have seen it from vantage points on land, air, and now sea are a true gift....Sunset views including rainbows and Flying Fish (aside from the fish we saw while snorkeling at Hale o Honu) took our breath away. The service from the crew was amazing from beginning to end. From smiles and welcomes as we came aboard, to immediate distribution of drinks for all, then collection of cans and cups....organized and well explained dissemination of snorkel gear for our snorkel stop, then healthy snacks and a well narrated coastal sail...then tasty and efficient dinner service followed by cookies and champagne, we were so impressed!!! The boat was clean and not overly crowded. TIP: If you sit Starboard side, on the seats just behind the upper staircase, you will have a fantastic view of the island on the way out and a lovely sunset view on the way back! Got such lovely photos without moving from our perch. But, beware, in choppy waters, you may get a bit wet! (It is definitely in the splash zone! Hee hee...it was so warm, we didn't mind at all!) Make sure to take bonine or Dramamine to void off sea sickness and always look toward the horizon. The front of the boat gets soaked if you choose to sit there. We did the 4 hour dinner cruise to Na pali coast and it was actually more like 5 hours. Everything about the cruise was excellent. The captain did not crash us or get us lost (aka Guilligan's Island). Matt was great to talk to and helped out. The woman, sorry, I did not get her name, was constantly taking picture of and for customers and serving drinks. They give you some snacks, soda, and water on the way to the Na pali coast. On the way back, there is a paper plate dinner and alcohol (beer and wine). The dinner food served buffet style was surprisingly good. The chicken dish was tender and very flavorful. The pulled pork was incredibly tender. The Caesar salad was better than some I have had at expensive restaurants on Kauai. There was also fresh pineapple and some cookies or something that I did not try. We spent a good amount of time along the coast and I took lots and lots of pictures. We topped it off on the way home with champagne toast at sunset which will be my new screen saver. Really good tour company and well worth the price. Oh, bathrooms were clean and at least on our tour we had no pukers! I guess people took motion sickness pills beforehand, plus we had a calm ocean. It was great. read more

Our group of 14 had an experience of a lifetime on the NaPali Coast with Captain Nate, Jsea, and the rest of the crew. First, they are so good at what they do - safety is their #1 priority. But they were also very fun and funny. Jsea went out of her way to make sure our kids were safely having fun and she talked with them to get to know them and treated them all extra special. Captain Nate navigated the waters expertly, giving us the smoothest ride under the conditions. We got splashed and sprayed on and the boat rocked in the best way possible!!! And the sights were spectacular. We saw both spinner and bottle nose dolphins riding alongside the boat, and there was so much sea life where we snorkeled. Most people were all smiles the entire time. I recommend this company to anyone, and we'll definitely be booking again with them next time we're in Kauai. read more

Great time, amazing staff, gorgeous views. Would give 10 stars if I could! My husband booked a sunset cruise for the final night of our honeymoon and we drove from Princeville to the port (about an hour and a half). I was pretty grumpy at first due to being sleep deprived and the long drive wasn't ideal, but all my grumps were washed away as soon as we stepped on board. Captain Nate was super chill, also recently married, so we learned a little about him, some Hawaii history, lots of Na Pali folklore, really good stuff. Kai and Luke were also gracious hosts; super friendly, accommodating, attentive, regularly checking in with guests and giving little nuggets of knowledge about the coast, Hawaii, and their lives. They helped kids and seasick guests get to where they needed to be to feel better. We saw dolphins as soon as we left the dock which was so cool. Seemed like two pods followed us for a while, then on the way back there were some dolphins surfing in our wake. The water was pretty choppy but we felt safe the whole time. The Na Pali coast is really spectacular; this was the most beautiful cruise I've ever been on. We were also served dinner (kalua pork, teriyaki chicken, rice, salad) and lots of drinks (Mai Thais, wine, seltzer, beer, juices, water, soda). The cruise is about four hours and it was really hot at first, I got a little sunburned, so be sure to bring some sunscreen and a jacket for the ride home once the sun starts to set. My siblings and I chose the four hour Napali Coast sunset tour which after going I would say this is a must do in Kauai! The itinerary included a luau style dinner(pork, chicken, rice and salad) and drinks. Everything was so good. I really enjoyed the pork and thanks to them I discovered Maui Hard Seltzer, which I had to go find when I got back into town! The crew was so great. Everyone was so friendly and very helpful.
