It was worth the 30 minute ride to this place. My bestie and I live about 50 mins away from each other so we decided on meeting half way to this spot right here. I ordered the Warsaw skillet. So good I highly recommend but what caught my attention was the lemon pancakes. We decided to shared them, Lord the lemon ricotta pancakes where delicious, so decadent and such an amazing flavor. Blue cafe is awesome! I drive in from NYC to visit family in the area and always make sure to stop by for brunch. Although they have many tasty options, my top two choices would be the Warsaw Skillet and the Paris Morning, which are both savory and filling meals. In case you're looking to top your meal with something sweet, I'd say they have some pretty legit blintzes with homemade whip cream and blueberry compote. Staff are also great and the service is excellent! There is sometimes a long wait to get seated, especially if you're with a large party. But, if you're not in too much of a hurry, then I promise that this place won't disappoint and you'll leave pretty satisfied. This is a nice family cafe. There is tons of street parking available and a free private lot available in the back. They offer takeout or patio dining on there nice patio area in the front of the restaurant. The staff there is very friendly. They seemed like family. You automatically get a pitcher of water and a glass when you are seated. The food there is simply delicious. I started with an Energy pressed juice, which was unique, but good. I then moved on to the Ricotta Lemon Pancakes.......mmmmm. Very good take on the classic pancake. It was very delicious. I had never had pancakes like that and they were presented very well. I topped that off with a side of bacon and a side of breakfast potatoes. The service was excellent. I would highly recommend this place. Their outdoor dining was very peaceful and we are getting into the time of nice weather. I thoroughly enjoyed my brunch there. Had a great first experience dining in at Blue Cafe the other day. Have been getting takeout from Blue all during covid but decided to finally give their outdoor dining a try! They have great outdoor seating and heaters! Food is always so fresh and they have a creative variety of breakfast and lunch options. Service was great. Food came fast and was reasonably priced. Perfectly charming brunch spot in picturesque Basking Ridge. Really well thought out and nicely prepared breakfast dishes and tasty sandwiches (although somewhat small). Only negative is the SLOW SLOW SLOW SLOW service. After a 40 minute wait for a table on a Sunday afternoon, we waited 50 more minutes for our food. OMG! We have heard about Blue Cafe for months (hey, even Sir Paul has been), and today we finally got a chance to go. This place is like a well oiled machine with an on site owner buzzing about who acts as hostess, sever, and table busser while smiling and greeting every customer (she must be exhausted at the end of the day). The entire waitstaff is the same, moving about as if they truly enjoyed being there. I had the Eggs Benedict and my wife the Blue Cafe Plate. Wow, Wow, Wow! The food and drinks were perfectly prepared, beyond awesome, and we left our plates totally clean. Even the food at the neighboring tables looked great. We both agree that we would go back in a heartbeat. One can truly tell the owners put a ton of love and effort into the Blue Cafe, and it shows. One of my favorite places to eat on LBI. I kind of hate spreading the word because there will be times I will have to wait for a table. The crab cake sandwich is awesome. The crab is plentiful, fresh and fantastic flavors. My sister had the crab wrap sandwich and she loved it. We saved room for desert so thumbs up for the gelato! Unfortunately the service was really poor. The restaurant was empty with three servers working and the entire time they were sitting at the bar eating, facing away from the tables so it was difficult to get help when I needed it (for example, the salad came out with no dressing and I couldn't get dressing until my sandwich was already done. I also was unable to get my bill after my dishes were cleared for about 15 minutes.) While the food was ok and the atmosphere is very nice, I wouldn't return in the future. read more

Cute little place! Came here on a Sunday and while they don't take reservations, they did let us call ahead 30 minutes and did their absolute best to reserve us a table for 6 people. We waited less than 5 minutes to be seated which is great. Food was good. Pierogies are delicious. Their OJ is fresh squeezed and they give you very nice champagne flutes if you BYOB. What a cute brunch spot! I came here with my husband on a Sunday around 11ish and had a short wait (about 15 mins) for a table. We both got the vanilla chai lattes which we loved. I had the Paris Morning and thought everything on my plate was really good- it's not the usual kind of breakfast that I would go for, so in the future I'd probably try something else, but I wanted to try something new and still really enjoyed it! I especially liked the potato pancakes. My husband got the Warsaw skillet which I tried and it was awesome. Not too heavy but still filling and all the flavors meshed really well together. We took a couple of their doughnuts to good and those were probably our least favorite things we tried just because the filling/flavor wasn't really there for us. This place is popular, and quite good. We have been here for both breakfast and brunch. Lovely variety of coffee and tea, all good. Attentive wait staff. Be prepare to wait when you get here and they are busy. The menu is unique because of the Polish/Ukraine influence. Yes, wait time can be long sometimes but it's understandable and the staff really does their best to accommodate. Never had a bad meal or drink here. So fresh tasting!
