I've been dining here for years and typically enjoy the food. But the Magnolia Park Pasta (Peppers, Okra and Mushrooms with a Piquant Creamy Tomato Sauce) was absolutely disgusting. Such a terrible flavor combo. I know they are trying to stay on trend with the Cajun theme but this dish was completely inedible and was not a tasty combination of flavors. I miss the pistachio pesto pasta. It was a much better veggie dish. Still a lovely environment and nice service just don't love this menu for vegetarians. Please consider a change. read more

We were so lucky to snag a table by checking in with the hostess for any walk-in availabilities. We had arrived around 5:30 PM to check for the waitlist and at that point there was no availability so we decide to come back around 6:45 PM and we're so lucky that there was an opening. The hostess was so nice and we were so grateful for her for making this opportunity to dine here a reality for my 2 friends that rarely go to Disneyland and I've been wanting to dine at blue bayou. We ordered the crabcakes, gumbo, and bread with cheese, fondue dip. Everything was really good and our waiter was very nice and attentive. Everyone should try blue Bayou at least once in their life. It's so cool to see all the Pirates of the Caribbean boats go by as you are dining, especially when you've always seen the restaurant as a kid riding on the boat. Excellent service and food and a must try at Disneyland. My husband and I were fortunate to secure a reservation at Blue Bayou. We had heard this place has wonderful ambiance, and it did not disappoint. Out reservation was at 8 p.m., and we were able to check in 20 minutes early via the app. However, it was pouring rain, so I imagine some people were staying extra long at their tables, and we weren't seated until 8:20 p.m. We were very happy with our table, as it was right beside the Pirates of the Caribbean water ride and absolutely loved the ambiance of feeling like we were in a swampy lagoon (without the mosquitoes). The service was excellent, and we really enjoyed our food. We started with the crab cakes, which were very flavorful. We also enjoyed the bread with the cheesy garlic grits, and the gumbo was one of the highlights of the meal. For our main, we had the ribeye steak, which was perfectly cooked. We each got a cocktail too. My husband had the hurricane and I had the spiked tea, and both were very tasty. We were so stuffed we couldn't do dessert, but our server was really friendly and gave us some recommendations for nearby dessert spots, like the beignets. The food exceeded both of our expectations. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful, and I was excited to finally experience it with my daughter. As a single mom, I was mindful of our budget, so I ordered soup and a salad, and my daughter had a kids' meal. We didn't try any of the main dishes, so my review is based on what we ordered. Unfortunately, the food and service were disappointing. My daughter said her meal was probably the worst kids' meal she's had at Disneyland, and the soup portion was very small for the price. The service was also very slow. I understand that part of what you're paying for is the dining experience, but even with the beautiful atmosphere, it didn't feel worth it to me. This is a very popular dining spot in the park. I made a reservation a month in advance. Upon checking-in at the reservation time, we were taken to our table by the staff within couple of minutes. The restaurant had a dark jungle like setup with lantern lights on top. The menu had several good appetizers, entrees and drinks. We started with the gumbo appetizer, that was really well made with fluffy rice and delicious gumbo soup. For entree I had the lacquered chicken that came it with a half rotisserie chicken, sautéed green, spoon bread, pickled veggie and l'orange sauce. I loved the chicken and all the ingredients on the plate. I was really surprised how good the whole thing tasted. The crab cake dish was also decent. The kid's meal with chicken finger was bare bone though. The strawberry lemonade was really good, so much so that I took an extra cup to go. Good thing the refill was unlimited. It's an experience. You dine while seeing people going through their ride of Pirates of Caribbean. The service is great. I asked a to go cup for my tea and our waiter just brought me a whole new tea. The food was ok tho. The chicken was somewhat dry and the side veggie was salty. The drink had very little taste. Kids chicken strips were dry and presentation was not the best. Had the luck of scoring a last-minute walk-in lunch. I wanted to take my first timer to Disneyland birthday boy (boyfriend) I had only been here one other time 12 years ago and was blown away as a 14-year-old girl. 28 years old now, and matured taste buds I enjoyed their three-course meal which included gumbo, a filet steak and mash, and upside-down banana bread cake. My boyfriend, ordered the chicken dish with the gumbo as an appetizer it was very flavorful. I absolutely adore the atmosphere that and charm this restaurant has Nestled in the beginning of one of Disney's most iconic rides. Blue Bayou Restaurant is one of my favorite restaurants at Disneyland! Reservations are usually booked months in advance, but every now and then you can get lucky and grab a reservation when someone cancels. It's definitely worth checking back if you don't see availability. One of the things that makes this restaurant so special is its unique setting. It's connected to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and you can actually enjoy views of the water and boats passing by at the very beginning of the ride. It feels like you're dining inside the attraction, which makes the experience so fun and memorable. We had a wonderful dinner here! They change their menu seasonally, so there's always something new to try. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked. The chicken was flavorful and perfectly cooked, with a delicious glaze and sauce that paired so well with the sides. I was skeptical of the experience I'd get at Blue Bayou Thought I'd get the stereotypical great ambiance but so-so food and value. I was wrong. I also ordered a cup of gumbo. The gumbo was amazing. Added some hot sauce to it. The Rib Eye came with grilled shrimp, a loaded baked potato,asparagus, and the steak was topped with a cowboy butter. I had never had cowboy butter, but it was delicious. The steak was cooked medium rare as requested. Sides were great as well. I shared this meal with my daughter and it was plenty of food.She ate the dessert that came with it. For 89 dollars I thought this was good value My wife ordered their chicken dish, and ate the salad that came with my meal. She said the chicken was a bit spicy but enjoyed it. My kids ordered the kid's prime rib and kid's shrimp. Both liked their food. My wife and I ordered a few adult drinks. I had a few beers and she had the espresso martini. Drinks are definitely pricey as to be expected. I knew that and still ordered it. Service: We had great service. Very friendly and efficient. Everything came out as ordered with no problems. Ambiance: Top Notch. Nothing new here that hasn't been said. Value: It is expensive. But not crazy expensive compared to other top of the line restaurants in other places. Getting a reservation: Reservations open up 60 days out at 6am Disneyland time.If you want a dinner reservation here at a decent time you gotta make them the day they open for your date. The ambiance is spectacular, it really does feel like the bayou at night. The staff is friendly and attentive, and they even included a birthday dessert! I'd recommend the Monte Cristo. First time dining here and most definitely would not be the last. I've never gotten the chance to dine at Blue Bayou in the past and managed to grab myself a solo reservation early in advance. I wanted to try the 70th anniversary menu special before it was swapped out. The check in process was pretty easy and I was seated relatively soon. Service was great and I was seated right by the water which was more than ideal. Pirates is my favorite ride so being able to enjoy the view of the ride as people floated by (kind of the feeling of being on the other side now - watching people on the ride rather vice versa) was such a fun nostalgic change. Starter was the Vegetable Hearts Salad Entree was the Ribeye Steak and Prawns and Dessert was the Chocolate-Pistachio Cheesecake The Salad was nice and fresh and the dressing was super good. Of course, the ribeye steak was fantastic and the prawns were such a nice size with great seasoning to it all. I'm the type that douses my steaks in sauces but the seasoning and flavoring on this was so good that that really wasn't necessary at all. My most favorite of all was the Chocolate-Pistachio Cheesecake. It was a great texture and the flavor was spectacular. I hope it's brought back on the menu somewhere again soon because that was super good. Also, the portions were massive so definitely a bang for your buck. We were very lucky to get the last walk-in spot for the evening. It was a very hot and humid Wednesday and just wanted a nice, quiet and cool place to eat. Tim was our waiter and he was excellent! If there was a blueprint on how to provide excellent service, Disney and Tim follow it. I chose to get the special with gumbo, ribeye and dessert. The gumbo is so good that I wanted to get another bowl. When the main entrees came out, I had to ask for another plate because the ribeye was so big. I had them cook it rare and it was perfect. We also orders the filet and as you can see from the pictures, it was about the size of a baseball. Tender and juicy too...The dessert was phenomenal. Caramelized banana on top of a dense banana bread, all with a side of vanilla ice cream. We were one of the last parties to eat and that provided a treat; seeing the Pirates of the Caribbean ride up close. My second time here but first review. We came here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate our twin daughters (adults now) birthday. We also had our 2 year old grandson with us to enjoy the day. I had the Roasted Chicken with Creole rice, Andouille sausage, and shrimp. It tasted good and I was happy with my choice. To drink I tried their Louisiana Lemonade that was good after being out in the sun the first part of the day. When we checked in for 4, I requested a table by the water and they were able to accommodate immediately which was very nice. It's the best ambiance to sit by or near the water. Food was delicious (pricey but it's Disneyland): Appetizers - Bread $13 - would skip it. It's good but it's just soft bread. - Crab cakes $18 - delicious! Lots of crab and great flavor - Gumbo $12 - one of my favorite gumbos. I love ordering it here. Portion is a cup size though. Mains - Ribeye $59 - was my favorite main. Very big portion. It comes bone in but we got lucky and we had mostly meat and barely any bone. - Market fish $46 - this was a steelhead trout, good sized and tender - Roasted chicken $44 - also came with shrimp and rice and flavored heavily. Felt almost like a deconstructed jambalaya. We thought it was a bit too salty. Dessert - crème brûlée $10 - this was vegan and not bad but not good. We didn't like the bread shell it came it. Would skip it. - chocolate cake $13 - very rich and decadent We've been to other Disneyland restaurants for birthdays and they usually give us a small complimentary dessert but they didn't this time which was mildly disappointing. I believe it's up to the discretion of the restaurant / waiter but we've consistently have had complimentary birthday dessert at other places. They did put a candle into a cake but for a dessert the birthday person didn't order (someone else ordered it) so it felt awkward to take a photo and blow out the candle and then pass the dessert off. Love this restaurant!! They are definitely not easy to get into so we made reservations way ahead of time and I was delighted! It had been a long time since I had dined there so the menu changed and has their French New Orleans themed cuisine! The food: eeeeveryone was talking about the monte cristo sandwhich so when I finally tried it, it did not disappoint! It was turkey, ham, Swiss cheese into this crunchy deep fried outside and you can dip in their blackberry sauce. It compliments the sandwich VERY well and very deliciously. For dessert we had the cheesecake that was very very good! It was the perfect amount of sweet and tart! The atmosphere? 1,000,000/10 that's a giant portion of the reason we come here right? How fun it is to be IN the pirates of the Caribbean ride while dining there! Lucky to dine here on 3/30/26 before this years refurbishments to the restaurant and the pirates ride. It had a cool ambience, nice decor, dim but somewhat noisy. The service was good, attentive and timely. The food did not disappoint, I had read of some underwhelming experiences here but that was not the case for me. Blue Bayou used to keep tables for walk-ins, but that hasn't happened for years. Their hosts used to be accommodating and gracious; now they're dismissive and curt. More and more, Disney is becoming a luxury brand ― the LVMH of theme parks ― and with luxury brands, money is the only real way to open doors. Hotel guests are the big spenders, and they get access to the tables at Blue Bayou, Carthay Circle, Trader Sam's. Everyone else, well, if you don't like it, don't be poor. Who ever thought Main Street U.S.A. would turn into Fifth Avenue or Rodeo Drive? The staff won't even help employees get at table here these days. Why help those freeloaders? It started with gumbo (good), then filet mignon (good) with Swiss chard (not a fan) and some kind of potato dish that had cheese ( ok but not mentioned on menu, lastly a upside down banana cake (didn't like it was condensed and firm, wish they kept the pistachio cheesecake that I wanted to try). My son (birthday boy) had the kids menu. I already knew from prior dining that it was going to be supermodel portion lol I gave him some of my steak and I also knew he will get filled up with his surprise bday cake. My spouse said the market fish, which was trout, was just ok. Carrie, our server was excellent and very friendly. She brought out the cake, lit the candles, had us sing hbd to my son and cut the Mickey birthday cake for us. The chocolate cake was very delicious, highly recommend. I had to remind Carrie that my banana cake came with my meal, we both forgot about it. She came back with the banana cake with a bday candle on it since I was also celebrating my birthday. We both got a birthday card signed by her ( first time ever getting a bday card) and a cute pirates of the Caribbean Mickey sticker. When you are on the privates of the Caribbean and ride and you look over and see people eating - well this is the restaurant! Of course I had to try the gumbo. I did not have any expectation, but I did not think that it would be super good for some reason. The gumbo was delicious! The bread was delicious! We lucked out with a Sunday night walk‑in, but by the end of the meal I couldn't shake the feeling we might have eaten better (and cheaper) outside the park. What we ordered: * Prime Rib Dinner - Around $58 for a plate that tasted more salty than special. Lucky enough to land a 150pm reservation. Check in was easy and quick. It was a very hot day and there was stroller parking near by and the waiting area was covered and cool. The menu was available via QR code to browse while waiting. Inside the atmosphere was perfect. The lighting was dim but fitting of the setting. The wait staff was so attentive my water glass literally never got lower than half and I was drinking fast. As I said it was a very hot day over 90 degrees. I ordered the ribeye it was cooked well and seasoned well. My wife and daughter split the pasta option and a cheese dip bread appetizer. My oldest daughter also grabbed a cocktail and she let me know it was delicious. I've only ever been here one other time many years ago and both times have been great. The entree is a delicious Ribeye Steak with shrimp with a rich garlic butter. For dessert, a very shareable chocolate pistachio cheesecake. Curious and wondering how on earth to get into this place, we waited in line and surprised!!!, she said, they can take walk in at the moment. We have been trying to get in here for years. Matthew. This was a fun meal! I started with hurricane but, I think I liked my wife's sweet peach tea drink a bit better. For my entree I had the prime rib. It was cooked well and had a good flavor. It was a bit overcooked for medium rare but, could have just been the cut / my preference. They also gave me two different types of horseradish which I thought was a nice touch. Dining at Blue Bayou is always a memorable experience, especially with its unique setting alongside the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction, you can see guests drifting by while you enjoy your meal, which really adds to the ambiance. We were lucky enough to secure a same-day dinner reservation for a party of six (four adults and two children), which made the visit even more special. Blue Bayou is one of the most unique dining experiences at Disneyland. The ambience is incredible--the dim lighting creates a relaxing atmosphere, and watching the boats from the Pirates of the Caribbean ride glide by while you eat makes the experience feel truly magical. If you can get a table close to the water, it's absolutely worth the wait. The food was excellent. I ordered the gumbo, and a great tip is that you can order it as a full dinner-sized entrée even though the menu highlights it as an appetizer. It was flavorful, satisfying, and one of my favorite dishes of the meal. Overall, the combination of the amazing atmosphere and delicious food made this a memorable experience. I would definitely come back again to try more items from the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for a special dining experience at Disneyland! read more

I know it's not easy to reserve a spot here, but believe me...it's worth it!!! I I do recommend that you try to reserve a spot overlooking the water!!! You'll see all the people on the boats heading into the Pirates of the Caribbean Ride! It's a great place to people watch! The food is very good too!
