TLDR (too long didn't read short version):
Bought a $500 dollar necklace that was in stock on their website, got an email saying it's not longer in stock, and needs to be made just for me so please wait, "Ok, sure fine!" BUT then it came in the wrong gold, I ordered yellow gold, they gave me a rose gold chain against a yellow gold charm, and then the clasp breaks off completely after three days of light wear. I'm super disappointed that I have a useless $500 necklace I cannot wear, and now I don't even want to wear it, because all I can see is the rose gold chain I did not want, and how it does not match the yellow gold evil eye its attached to. I don't know if they rushed my order cause it wasn't in stock, I don't know if they thought I wouldn't notice the rose gold chain, I don't know if they're using fake gold clasps, but something went majorly wrong. Customer service was pretty much non existent and the craftsmanship has suffered and the pieces just fall apart now for no good reason. I have decided to never shop with bluboho again and cut my loses. Full story below :
Some back story :
I started shopping with bluboho back in 2015 at their Yonge street location, and I thought to myself, "Wow, I have found my jewelry store for life! " I bought a triangular diamond necklace for myself on my first visit and never looked back. So you can imagine how disappointed I am that they have made that sentient no longer true. All my past gifts and gifts to myself have been from bluboho and up until now I have loved everything about it. My now fiancé knew to get my engagement ring from here when the time came, this place was special to us and fitting since he bought my first birthday gift from them over five years ago and we have marked many other special occasions with bluboho jewelry. He's now my fiancé, and sadly, because of my recent experience we could no longer support bluboho, so yes I am happily engaged, but my ring did not come from them. I have five rings, five necklaces, and three pairs of earrings from them. Needless to say I have spent thousands at bluboho and others have spent thousands shopping there for me over the last several years. And my most recent piece will by last.
Last month I purchased the "Theia Evil Eye Necklace" I wanted to be symbolically protected during such unprecedented times as I have preexisting conditions and still needed to work the front line these past few months. It was meant to be a special piece to me and for all my hard work, lately, I was treating myself and wanted to feel protected. I didn't open the package for a while as I let things sit for about a week before I touch them, just to be extra safe. Upon opening it, the necklace chain didn't seem to match the yellow gold eye charm and I certainly ordered a yellow gold necklace.. Almost appeared to be rose gold. I decided to just let it go and maybe it was all just in my head. So fast forward to day three of wearing the necklace, (I followed the care instructions to a T), I'm taking the necklace off before bed and go to close the necklace back up for storage and there's no longer a clasp! It just broke off! I luckily find it in my shirt. I'm happy this didn't happen while I was out because I would have lost the $500 dollar necklace all together! I've never had ANY gold jewelry break like this, and just after only three days of light normal wear? I've never had any of my other pieces from bluboho have such an issue, and I've worn them for years. How can a supposedly gold necklace just come away like this? And that's just it, until you do have a problem with one of bluboho pieces, you don't know just how big of a problem you will have with their customer service and their overall team trying to make the situation better. You also will not realize their product is becoming more and more inferior until you get the dud. It's a harsh reality that I learned the hard way. I thought "Would my engagement ring stone just fall out for no reason and bluboho would just say "Oh sorry, not sure why it broke, good luck!" I was no longer going to risk it and deal with a company with such awful customer service, and now poorly made cheap pieces the break within three days, or run the risk of them sending items in the wrong mismatched mediums that I did not order, yellow gold cannot be rose gold, sorry, and it doesn't look good against a yellow gold charm. Since the necklace broke all together, I started to examine it more, I asked my now fiancé to check it out and some friends so that I knew it just wasn't me or my eyes perceiving the chain as rose gold, they all agreed; it looked rosy and didn't match the yellow gold charm. I laid it down with good lighting against my other pieces from bluboho, rose gold and yellow gold chains, it matched the rose gold items I already owned. So at this point, I'm super disappointed that I have a useless $500 necklace I cannot wear, and now I don't even want to wear it. read more
