On our quest to find more places that do karaoke in the city, we stumbled upon Blu Cantina Ambiance/Vibe 3/5 I wouldn't say it was anything special in terms of decor or ambiance, it was just ok. Definitely made sense with the type of restaurant and location, etc. It was more on the dark side lighting wise. Service 3/5 We were seated quickly, our waitress was readily available, and I think the timeliness of service was appropriate with how long it took to get food/drinks. Food 2/5 I ordered "Ultimate Sampler" with wings, guac, and empanada. It was all ok. Nothing spectacular or standout. The empanada was probably my least fav of the 3 items. Drinks 3/5 I don't remember what I got but I don't remember being blown away. Tucked away in the camp creek marketplace, this place has ample parking and it's free. Something you don't find often in Atlanta. lol. From the outside it looks larger than what it is, but it's still a good size. When you walk in, there is a sign that says seat yourself. As a side note, since it's October, it is decorated for Halloween....a fun touch. There is a large bar and table seating sections. There is a good balance of small and large tables for different size groups. The server came right away with menus as soon as we sat down. They did have a happy hour from 3-7, but you do have to ask for the happy hour menu as they don't automatically provide it. I ordered the "big ass jolly rancher margarita", and a chicken quesadilla. One of those large margaritas was all I needed. The quesadilla is served with chips and salsa. To my surprise the chicken was so flavorful and so was the salsa. If you're not in a rush, you would have no complaints because sometimes, SOME of the waitresses will watch you walk-in, watch you sit down, continue to talk to each other and then walk over after a significant amount of time and ask if you've been helped...NO! But I will add that once you finally do assigned a waitress, they are helpful and accessible. If you're looking for a lounge/bar type feel, but on the southside of Atlanta, then you will enjoy. Not crowded; plays music (maybe a little too loud); but it's a vibe. They have happy hour specials 4-7pm daily and if you're in to hookah, it's $20 during happy hour. They have TVs all over so if you're in to sports, you can watch the games. Parking is free as it's in a parking lot. We were seated by a host at a table and as I write this no waitress has been to our table yet to take our order and we have been her for at least 30 mins. No waitress has come to take our order and there have been 3 in our area. Once again we were seated by the hostess. He had to go and get our drinks from the bar himself and when he goes to get it the waitress is sitting at the bar drinking. I have been in a twice now and honestly the first time I was a little nervous but it's a great place! The food is good and fresh love the fusion tacos they have. The taco salad is also great. Always checked in on us and made sure we were good. Margarita with patron was decent but I did really think they would come in a bigger glass for the price. I had 2 when I should have only needed 1 to do the trick. I had fish tacos with slaw on top. They were just ok because the fish was burnt. I ordered a mixed drink call la Lina Bonita. The menu said that it is made with tequila, sours, soda water, grapefruit and one more ingredient, I don't remember what is was. Well, let me start by saying I'm a Mexican food snob, and I have yet to eat anything in GA up to my CA standards-So I have given up on trying. I was in town for a visit and needed somewhere to watch the Warriors game. Checked out the other sports bars nearby and settled on this spot, because I've been before a few years back. The game didn't start until 10pm (sucks for EST folks LOL), but I arrived early to meet a couple friends. They had 4 TV's, 2 showing the Eastern and 2 showing the Western Conference games... Perfect! We ordered cocktails, wings, fries, poppers and hookah. The food was ok, I was pleased it came out hot! But the cocktails were not so good. They have an array of specialty drinks, but they were just not hitting (sad, because they were premade) The vibe was nice, mixed crowd of folks in their 20's-40's. They also had a fun game of R&B bingo going on (I think they do it every Wednesday). You get the bingo sheet (with artist randomly place on the sheet) from the host and you listen for that artists song to be played and you mark your sheet accordingly until you have 5 in a row. Both of my friends won, it was pretty cool. The UNCOOL part was the TV situation and the number of servers. It appeared they only had 2 young ladies working the entire place. Our waitress was pretty attentive, until more folks came in and she was stretched thin. We had to ask several times for more hookah coals, before they received them. But the worst issue was that after the Laker's game, they changed ALL 4 of the TV's to the Eastern conference game. Right before the Warrior's game was to start I asked the non-busy, unbothered bartender if she could have the TV's changed back to the other station so we could watch, and gave me the hold on finger. I approach another young lady and she pointed me in the direction of a guy that was probably a manager. He assured me that he would take care of it. Well about 8 minutes later the channel was changed to the Warriors game (I personally thanked him)... and within 3 minutes the unbothered bartender changed it again! I was pissed, so I go to the girl and said, hey we were watching that! The she all of a sudden doesn't know how to work the TV. smh So after missing about half of the 1st quarter 1 of the 4 TVs was turned to the Warrior's game. So overall the experience was just ok... I sat at the bar and waited several minutes, while two bartenders walked past me several times before one finally asked how could they help me.
