We heard about "Blue Bee Cafe" a while ago and finally got a chance to visit them today. I wish we hadn't taken so long... it is extraordinary! Tucked away in a non-descript strip center on Mentor Ave. in Painesville, Ohio; this beautiful Middle Eastern cafe/bakery/coffee shop is a real jewel. It is very nicely appointed, with plenty of seating, and plenty of room. The marvelous display case faces you as soon as you enter. And it has some of the most amazing offerings you will find outside of the Mediterranean community. The coffee and beverage offerings are everything you would expect, plus many selections you would never anticipate. And the pastries on display are absolutely beautiful just to look at... Like art work. Your eyes will be screaming at you to buy it all and eat it immediately! My wife ordered an iced coffee with a pastry that was a combination of chocolate fudge and pistachio cream topped with a drizzle of caramel. So decadent... so wonderful! I had a fantastic Pistachio Latte (amazing) with something I have never seen outside of Sicily - "Frutta Martorana". It is a fabulous Arab/Sicilian pastry treat designed to look like real fruit. And it tastes like the fruit it looks like (see pictures). All I can say is, be hungry and be ready for desserts you have never had before. It will be an amazing experience. I was so bummed to have missed out on the Blu Bee cafe Yelp event last year but still glad to be introduced to this gem! Yeah, it was quite far and out of the way for me in Solon but it was worth it! BF, child and I ordered a peach fruit mousse cake (the viral ones on instagram!), 1 feta cheese + olives pie, 2 chicken pies, 3 pieces of baklava, 1 piece of honeycomb cake, Lotus decaf latte. My favorite was the honeycomb cake. Wow, they warmed it up and drizzled honey over the puffy bubbles of dough, sesame and cream cheese! Soooo good. I was so pumped to try the mousse cake and think I overhyped it. It honestly was not worth $13 and I enjoyed the Chinese viral fruit ice cream pops better. My daughter liked the chicken pie the most! It was spiced perfectly with some sweet peppers inside and minced chicken. The baklava was the best I've ever tried--flaky, sweet, the right texture and perfect. But gotta say each tiny piece (square inch or 2) was $3 each! It's a baklava racket but I've never had better, lol. Everything was really expensive, like, even more than Korean bakery prices! But everything was so unique and yummy. I WILL be back. The edible dessert chocolate cups were out this time so maybe I could try it next time. read more

What an amazing night spent with fellow Cleveland Yelpers at Blu Bee Cafe in Painesville. We enjoyed a delightful evening of sampling delicious drinks and food, engaging in great conversation, and painting, all while learning about Palestinian culture. Owner Heba was incredibly welcoming. Every item she provided for sampling was delicious. The tiramisu was a true standout, offering the perfect combination of coffee flavor and balanced sweetness--a lovely complement to the coffees they served. I also thoroughly enjoyed the savory meat pies and the spinach & feta pie, which would make an absolutely perfect breakfast. The service here is wonderful! Very friendly staff who were able to answer all my questions regarding the deserts. The flavors of the fruit desserts were very potent in a good way and tasted just as described. There was a little dust on the top maybe from regular debris over time. I had a craving for tiramisu and Googled where I could get some locally. The Blu Bee Cafe came up as a result, and I was out the door. It's exactly what we need in this area. A coffee shop that isn't Starcrooks! It's Middle Eastern, with decadent pastries, savory handpies, a nice variety of milk cakes, tiramisu, baklava, bubble teas, lattes, and authentic Turkish coffee! The employees were super nice and very helpful in describing what everything was. We got an assortment of milk cakes, baklava, pastries, and handpies. A bit overpriced. 26 bucks for a coffee, cake, and a turnover not including a tip. The latte is different than other shops so make sure you ask about it before ordering. Best cafe, breakfast and dessert shop. Blu Bee is large and attractive. The sweets are Middle Eastern. You can have a Dubai chocolate waffle with an egg sandwich for breakfast. The meat and veggie pies are delicious. Desserts with Middle Eastern nuts and spices range from Pistachio covered Baklava, cheesecakes, Tiramisu and beautiful treats I don't know their names. Includes a few GF desserts. Try the coffees which are arabica and Turkish coffees. This cafe is not different. It's delicious. Lots of tables. Friendly staff. This is a newer place in the Painesville area. It is in a rundown little plaza, but when you walk into this coffee shop, it completely transforms your opinion of where you are! The shop is beautiful- it has fabulous shiny new equipment - with soft Middle eastern music playing. It is well designed and comfortable. They have a lot of sweet pastries that you can enjoy with your coffee. They do have some savory offerings also. The Turkish coffee is strong with a hint of spice and it is delicious. My husband got the chocolate latte and he enjoyed it also. We got our food pretty quickly. And when it came out, it was good and hot. I think the thing that keeps me from giving it a five star review is that they were not good at all about explaining what was on the menu . We were all excited about trying new Mediterranean food, but we are not experts on it by any means. The menus do not have any explanation about what the food or drink is. When we saw something that we had never seen or heard of before, they would give us one word answers to answer each question instead of explaining to us what the spices are or what the words meant. That was frustrating. We just had to keep asking questions until we just got tired of asking . I think some of the girls here don't speak English very well so that might be why. We will give it another try because the place really is nice and the food we tried was good. But they need to help more with the customer experience. read more

First time visiting this establishment. What a great place to go. There are so many desserts in their case. We ordered tiramisu, fruit mousse cake(peach), Dubai strawberries. The fruit mousse desserts come in many flavors. We ordered peach. You have to try these. Service was excellent. The place was bright and cheerful. My daughter found this cute coffee + establishment and couldn't say enough about it. Thought it was time to check it out. The coffee was very good, as told to me by a colleague, and I tried the latte with pistachio and the best part is that it wasn't sweet.
