(I'll attach the reference photo.) I was very clear that I wanted no more than two inches taken off. Instead, at least four inches were cut, and I left with choppy, uneven layers that looked like a combination of a blunt cut and an uneven mullet. I tried styling it for a few days to see if I could make it work, but I couldn't. I was devastated. When I returned to the salon to explain the situation, one of the two stylists was there. As I was describing what had happened, the stylist who cut my hair began telling the other stylist in Spanish that I had never shown a reference photo, never mentioned the length, and never said I only wanted two inches cut. Thankfully, I understand enough Spanish to know exactly what she was saying. I told them that I absolutely had shown the reference photo and had been very specific about the length. At that point, they immediately backtracked and switched to speaking to me in Spanish. Rather than acknowledging the misunderstanding, they told me it would be too difficult to fix and that because my hair was already so short, the only way to correct it would be to cut it even shorter. I left with no solution, no accountability, and in tears. More than anything, I was disappointed to be treated as though I was lying when I had gone out of my way to communicate exactly what I wanted. I had very long hair, and this wasn't a minor trim gone wrong--it was a significant haircut that I did not ask for. I wish I could get my money back. Based on my experience, I would only recommend coming here for a blowout, not a haircut.

Spending hours in a salon chair is never my idea of a good time but it's a process and with what I…read morewanted I knew it would take some time. I am a brunette naturally and I've been blonde for the past 7 months or so. I've never had any issue with brassiness, my hair lifts rather easily. Me and my friend went in on time for our scheduled appointment and sat for probably around 15 minutes while the hairdresser (there was only one) finished up on a client. When it came time to sit down we discussed how I wanted to be a slightly brighter blonde which in essence just meant I wanted my root bleached and toned to match the rest of my hair because it had grown out a fair amount. I showed her a few reference pictures and it began. The hairstylist mixed the bleach and applied it directly to my scalp with a bottle which I'm not accustomed to but it started getting bad when the bleach started burning my head which I've never experienced before, she ended up having to wash it out after 20 minutes because of how uncomfortable it was. The end product (I'm including photos of the whole process) ended up being the crown of my head a bright brassy orange color with streaks in it. I made it clear that I wasn't happy with it and she was very kind and offered to do a balayage to break up the brassiness. After processing it and washing my hair for the second time I was left with bright blonde streaks and the crown of my head still left completely orange. I was mortified, my hair now felt stringy as it had been processed twice already. She then assured me she could fix it by doing some foils in the root to take away the brassiness that was still clearly visible. In hindsight I should have gotten up and paid there and then left to prevent further damage to my hair but I was trusting that with her "20+" years of experience it could still be salvaged. She then went in with foils, let it develop and washed my hair for the third time at which point I was extremely upset to see that not only was my hair more damaged it was also still orange and possibly streakier than before. She had another appointment come in at the same time and the girl was left sitting in the chair while she took me back to the bowl again to apply a toner to do a shadow root so I didn't leave with orange streaks. She applied the toner, didn't leave it in and washed it out. at this point I was extremely upset. My friend and I had been sitting in the salon for 4 hours at this point and my hair had only gotten worse. She asked to blow dry a strand but I told her it was pointless because you could see the brassiness clearly in the light and even if it got lighter it would still be orange. I told her and my friend that I just wanted to go home, she proceeded to tell me to come back on Wednesday to get it fixed which I declined. She then asked me to only pay for materials which I pulled out money to do. At this point I was close to tears and she hastily said she "couldn't deal with tears" , walked away and continued to talk to me while working out her other client. thankfully I did not end up having to pay for anything after it was over, I left and went home. After attempting to blow dry my now straw stiff over processed hair with orange streaks I decided to leave this review. And both times I was extremely happy with the outcome. Easy to find, quick, in and out. If you need a good blowout with styling this is your place to go. I'm not a local and found them on instagram-- from south Florida so I have a high standard of blowouts -- they did great job. The salon is small but it's all you need. They use great products- was a great shampoo and they threw in a Wella mask treatment. Very kind and friendly / they are all talented and work as a team. She turned my beautiful gray hair green and then stripped all the color out of it, burning my scalp and destroying my hair in the process. She tried to blame me and say it was my fault, but when I contacted the manufacturer of the product they said the following: "Response from Magic Sleek owner- We are sorry that your experience with Magic Sleek did not meet your expectations. We have a caution on every main product bottle that gray hair from root to ends could be discolored. We want to help you as much as we can. What salon did you receive your treatment at? Please email us at info@magicsleek.com so we can help you better." I am now forced to go to another salon every few weeks to have costly restorative treatments done, and to have it colored to try to hide the bright, neon yellow color that she stripped it down to. It has already cost me thousands of dollars since she ruined my hair, and I will be forced to continue these treatments over the next several years while my hair grows out. I never posted about this or exposed her negligence to the public or to the product manufacturer before now because I trusted that she would do the right thing and help me with the financial burden she caused me. I approached her with kindness and with the understanding that accidents can happen, and that insurance is used for this exact thing. But after several months of trying to get her to submit a claim to her insurance or to agree to compensate me at all, she told me she will not do anything to help me with my financial loss and the humiliating personal appearance she left me with. I would never want anyone else to go through what she did to me.
