My AC went out on July 2nd, they came out July 3rd and told us they would be there to install on July 9th. I received a text and email confirmation. At 2pm on the 9th I called to find out when they were coming to install and the owner said that they were coming Thursday and had no idea why I received a confirmation beyond him telling me as well he was coming that day. When they arrived they displayed no customer service in assuring that I knew they were on my property or their game plan how they were going to get the unit place. The owner went to remove the unit from his trailer and did not properly unchain the unit causing it to fall off the skid steer and dent it. They also did not remove the tracks on the bottom so it would have a properly displacement of weight on the new pad. After speaking to the owner earlier that week I found him to be condescending and rude. He talks over me the entire time I tried to talk and ask questions so I can be prepared for his arrival. During installation my husband and I decided it to be best if he looked at it when he got home from work and dealt with him rather than me. When he came home we found not only the unit dented, but trash everywhere, sloppy installation, the unit not leveled, gaps under the damaged pad, and no p-trap installed on the drain but yet placed so that the runoff would erode the unit over time. They sent the owners son out to fix it twice. We told him to have his dad call so that we can discuss the damage. I refused to approve payment until that discussion. When he finally called, again condescending and talked over me. He said the unit was not damaged that it worked. I said you know what why don't you call my husband and you all discuss this, I don't appreciate not getting a chance to say what I have to say. To which he said he's going to put a lien on my house. I am fully prepared to release the funds but not for a dented unit. If you purchased a brand new truck and the dealer dented it, would you still take it because it still works? Horrible company, disrespectful towards women, not at all good communicators and display very poor workmanship.

They went out on 8/27/21, checked the unit, and said that the grills upstairs were closed and that was the only issue. They opened the grills and said that the AC was fixed. A week after my mother's close date, two weeks after Kovack went out to the property, the AC completely shut off. We had a different company, Elite Comfort Services, come to inspect as well as had Kovack go back out. Elite found damaged external wires, spliced wires at the unit, missing disconnect boxes, and a few items that were not up to code. The second time Kovack went out, they only gave us a report for the damaged external wires. Again, not a thorough inspection. How did they not see the damaged/spliced external wires the first time? Why did they not report the damaged wires to the previous owner for repair? Isn't is suspicious that the AC was not working, but opening the grills fixed it? They informed me on the phone that they did not conduct a full inspection the first time because they were not told to do so by the previous owner, but then turned around and told my mother's agent that they conducted a full inspection and nothing was wrong. So which is it? Was a full inspection conducted or not? If so, where is the report? This was supposed to be fixed before my mother's close date, and because Kovack did not do their job correctly my mother had to pay out of pocket for the repairs. We went with Elite Comfort Solutions because they conducted a full inspection and were very informative and knowledgeable. We did not trust Kovack to complete the job correctly and expected for Kovack to find additional items that needed to be addressed. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

They have a Carrier HVAC system, which started giving them trouble. They live in near Athens, GA, I live in California. Mom called D & D to make a repair on their AC. They came out and told told my parents that they were placing a "band-aid" on their AC system, that it didn't need a repair. D & D charged them a ridiculous amount, 3 times what the other companies quoted. They were told D & D's price only after the "band-aid" repair had been done. One month later, mom's AC went completely out. This was on a Wednesday. My parents called every day through Friday and no one called them back. The heat was unbearable, my dad and mom were having a very difficult time breathing, getting around through the day and sleeping. Both my parents and myself left messages letting D & D know this. Still, no one would call us back. I started calling D & D (from California), trying to get a response. I placed many calls throughout the weekend. No one from D & D answered their phones (I called both advertised numbers), they didn't answer my email or call me back. Finally, on Monday, we contacted another HVAC company and they came to my parents (from another state!) to make the repair. They were wonderful and came very quickly. D & D finally called my parents back saying they were in their offices the whole time!!! Mom told them they would NEVER be called by her household again. He left our system in great working order, and made me aware of one part that could require replacement down the road; the price for handling it would again be quite reasonable. However,…read moreafter an engineer friend of mine had his system replaced by Acker Heating & Cooling he couldn't say enough good things about them. I requested quotes from 2 reputable companies, (both by personal references) to replace my upstairs, (guest suite) heat pump. The other company sent out a tech, who read the numbers off my existing units and quoted a cost to replace exactly what I had. The owner, of Acker H&C came out and evaluated my entire system, asking questions of past performance of the system, etc. He sized service lines, duct work size and runs before quoting a replacement system. The following day after researching options he proposed a new system that would overcome the extensive amount of existing duct work that was limiting adequate air flow. The replacement system would be slightly larger in air tonnage and also compressor size. The work was scheduled for 2 weeks out, however we were expecting guests that weekend. Acker H&C came out before my guests arrived and got the system temporally cooling at no cost to me. The final installation was done within the day on the date promised. The service techs were all extremely polite, professional and covered every square inch of work area with drop cloths before beginning. After allowing several days to be sure everything was working as expected, the owner came out to inspect the work of his crew. It was not until this time that I made payment of any kind. As it ended up, my final invoice was less than expected and the quality of the work was impeccable.

The service guy Justin was there for about 3 hours. He was clearly aggravated. After he replaced the motor there was still no heat flowing thru the vents. He went under the house & when he came out he told me that the duct work was detached & he had fixed it. Charged me $550. Thirty minutes after he left there was still no heat flowing so my boyfriend went under the house not only was the duct work completely detached but it was lying on the ground. Spent another $110 at Lowes for new duct & fixed it ourselves. Later I removed the cover to the heat pump & found bared wires twisted together with no end caps & 2 breakers turned off. I've had my thermostat set at 76 for 8 days and the temperature has not risen above 65. Barely any heat at all. They charge a 400% mark up on the motor. I found the same one online for $95. When I called them I spoke to the owner. He refused to even come by & look at the issues even though they advertise a labor warranty. He the accused me of detaching the duct myself. He then told me that I had already paid & it was a done deal & basically told me to go f*** myself. Luckily my cell phone records. Today I began criminal procedings for verbal battery against the owner & legal procedings for fraud against the company.
