The waitress was super friendly and still was great to us, she let us know they were out of some stuff since it was late but we had 7 people and all ate like kings! We were staying at Skytop And wanted to explore the town a bit so we decided to step out for a late lunch. I'm Yelp I noticed this place had decent reviews and was pretty local so we decided to pop in. So glad we did because everything wlse around was closed including a regular pizza shop. We ordered a large cheese pizza pie and a specialized buffalo chicken personal pie. Both were pretty good but nothing compared to NYCC of course. I almost hate giving this place a good review because I don't want it to become too popular! It's not much to look at inside and out but the food is amazing authentic Italian food and the service is equally as good! If you're in the area you need to stop in and try it! The bread is served just out of the oven with olive oil and herb and the salads were nicely presents and cold. I recommend the Parmesan crusted chicken! We will definitely be back!! read more

Mediocre food, it's hit or miss with food and pizza these restaurants on this mountain use to be good and care about the quality of their food,yall gotta be consistent the Cesar salad was from a bottle and bland,pizza was good but Like all the rest of pizza places the toppings are just thrown on in the very middle of the pie, we got one or more if company was over a few weeks and or months ago the bottom was black from a dirty oven the next time was ok, all three pizza shops on this mountain all do it differently but the crust and cheese is all the same dry and leathery but it has good potential for sure I'd give it another go,compared to other shops in the area even know it's not a shop can do better I've seen it and so did and do our other guest who always join us on our dining at other restaurants. I've been going to the Blooming Onion for many years. They always had a very good marinara sauce. The last time I was there the recipe had changed. The marinara was not like it used to be. The chicken franchise was excellent but still disappointed about the sauce. I always get a side of pasta with marinara which makes my meal complete. All I can say was disappointment. Waitress we very nice but I noticed that at 6:00,, there was no one in the place which was a red flag. Bottom line without going into allot of detail was our experience was not favorable. As far as a " everything made fresh" statement , it didn't make the grade... Excellent food which I would call cuisine because the choices were much more than your typical spaghetti and meatball type of offerings. A casual come-as-you-are type atmosphere belies the choices on the menu. Onion soup needs a more "beefy" tasting broth but their soup de jour was excellent. My husband wanted shrimp Francaise which was not on the menu but they gladly made it for him and he said it was delicious. Liquor and wine are available. Their prices are moderate and reasonable considering some very different items not typically found Don't hesitate to try this restaurant; it very well may become your favorite. read more

The Bloomin onion restaurant has an excellent menu with excellent service in Hometown hospitality by the way their pizzas are phenomenal!

Most of food is ok. There are a few things that are good (spaghetti and meatballs). Service is pretty slow. My biggest issue is that the people who work at or own the restaurant seem to want to make sure everyone knows their political views regardless of whether it interferes with serving customers or makes some customers uncomfortable. To be clear, people are certainly entitled to their views, but the restaurant is located in a place where there are a lot of divergent views. In my opinion, if you're operating a restaurant, your staff should not stop to discuss politics when other customers are waiting and you should be aware that customers might feel less than welcome if the decor loudly announces certain political views. read more

We were there for New Years eve dinner. This place is excellent!! We were a party of five, four of us had the Jager schnitzel and one had the lasagna. The food was so good it melted in your mouth! Don't be deceived by the ratings and pictures! I've driven by this restaurant several times and I had been wanting to check it out. I looked at the reviews online and saw such high ratings. The pictures looked pretty good, from the few that were posted. Tonight, I finally decided to try it out and was thoroughly disappointed. I arrived at the restaurant about an hour before the closing time, only a couple of tables were filled, and no one came to grab menus to seat us. One of the waitresses just pointed to a table and said we could sit at it. Eventually, another waitress came over and handed us menus, took our drink order, and dragged over a giant erase board to show us the specials. After reviewing the menu, we chose two of the specials for the night, the chicken parmigiana and the veal marsala. The entrees came with the salad bar, so we decided to check it out. Upon our arrival to the salad bar, we noticed only two plates left and only a few pieces of lettuce at the bottom of the bowl. We told the waitress that they were low on salad and she only replenished it with a handful of lettuce. The salad bar had about 8 different toppings, all were fresh. There were a few salad dressing options but there was hardly any ranch left in the container and that was the one I wanted. After assembling my salad, I went to the crouton container and they were extremely low on croutons. There were maybe 10 whole croutons in the container but about an inch thick of crumbs. My guess is that they never clean out the crouton container and just keep refilling it when it's low because of the amount of crumbs on the bottom of the container. Not only that, when I bit into my salad the croutons and crumbs were so stale and gritty. It almost ruined the salad. It wasn't long after we finished our salads that our entrees arrived. The chicken parmigiana was cooked well but the sauce lacked in flavor. It was a decent sized portion of chicken and pasta. The veal marsala was hands down the most disgusting meal!!! They really need to take this off the menu. At first glance, it was about 6 super thin slices of meat (they look like they could easily be on an au jus type of sandwich), with a slimy gravy sauce that had a yellow grease boarder around the gravy! There was a side of mashed potatoes and a side of cut carrots. I decided to try to mashed potatoes first. They were greasy but edible. Next, I tried the carrots. Oh my gosh, so disgusting!!! I think they were supposed to be honey carrots or something but apparently the cook decided to through in the wine they used to cook the marsala to flavor the carrots. It's hard to describe how nasty they were and I was nervous about trying the veal after having a piece of the carrot. I cut off a small piece of meat from the slice of veal. It was like hard lunch meat with a slimy, greasy flour coating on it that had an overwhelming taste of wine and something else I couldn't quite pin point. I didn't have one more bite after that. So gross!!! I'm not sure if I ever want to come back and see if other things are edible on the menu. There are definitely better choices around town. read more

This place has really taken a nosedive since I was last there many months ago. I understand there is new ownership. This used to be the go to place for an amazing meal, service, with a relaxed family dining atmosphere. Now, everything appears to be "right out of the bag", so to speak. By that I mean it's the same quality of food you get from any frozen food section at a supermarket or pre-bagged salad from the produce section in a supermarket. The prices are still sky high, but I didn't mind that before, now I do. You pay a skyhigh premium for seriously low quality meals. read more

We needed a break from the fancier dining at Skytop and traveled down the road to find this weirdly named Italian joint. The food here was great. There is a nice salad bar that gets included with every entree. The board of specials is a mile long, with plenty of vegetarian options. The service was simple and friendly. The food was out promptly. This place is exactly what you need for a solid, family friendly meal after a day of hiking or skiing. I had the pleasure of meeting some wonderful people here, the staff is friendly and welcoming and the ambiance is nice. The spaghetti was a healthy portion; however, the sauce was flavorless and tasted liked canned stewed tomatoes on a bed of spaghetti. Although the pasta was perfectly cooked, the sauce was simply disappointing. The meatballs reminded me of lumps of plain overground or over handled, under seasoned, textureless hamburger meat. They needed to be mixed with breadcrumbs, salt and pepper, Parmesan cheese, and parsley - then broiled to a golden brown and then tossed into the tomato sauce. The chicken Marsala was horrible. The soggy flour/egg coating on the chicken was not appetizing, and the chicken was overcooked and dry. The vegetables were overcooked, mushy, and lacked salt and pepper. Overall, the dish was very watery, and my guess is that a white wine, not actual Marsala wine was used for the sauce without heavy cream, or salt and pepper, and parsley, which is typically used to give the reduction body and flavor. The side of pasta, however, was perfectly cooked, but the tomato sauce was very bland and did not coat the pasta. read more

Spot-on simple homestyle flavors with not too much oil or over seasoning. Crab cakes were large and superb. Chicken Milanese was also very good. We had to search and find a pizza place open the week between Christmas and New Years. This place was a great find! The owners are so nice and made our pizza in 1/2 hour even though they were busy. We had a few beers as we waited and they treated us great. The power went out and they worked with us to pay even though we didn't have much cash because we always use or plastic.
