Great experience! The complimentary bread is to DIE for. 10/10. I had the smoky cherry cocktail and it was delicious. They have a pretty extensive mocktail menu if you don't/can't drink alcohol which I appreciate as well, but didn't try anything. We had the tirokafteri appetizer and it was amazing!!! We loved it. The crab pasta is also amazing. Our server was kind and attentive and joyfully answered any questions we had. We were checked on by about three different people which is always refreshing. We recently visited Butter and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The moment we sat down, the water bottle brought to our table had crumbs floating inside. I informed the waitress, and she kindly replaced it ,but the second bottle had the same issue. My daughter refused to drink anything else, so I had no choice but to go out to the parking lot and get our own bottled water. That should have been the first sign that the experience wasn't going to improve. We all ordered burgers, and they were extremely disappointing. Not only were they overpriced, but the buns were completely soaked in grease and falling apart. Even though we requested medium-rare, the burgers came out raw -- not just pink, but visibly undercooked. It was very unappetizing. While the restaurant itself has a cozy atmosphere, the quality of the food and overall experience overshadowed that. We left feeling uncomfortable, and our stomachs started hurting afterward. Sadly, we regret choosing this place and would not return. read more

Heard about this place so we gave it a try. I almost don't want to leave a review because it will get crowded. We shared the Wedge Salad. It was the perfect amount of bacon and chopped tomato. I had the Butter Burger. It was another in gravy mushrooms onions and melted Swiss. It's more like a chopped steak than a burger. You definitely need a fork and knife. My wife had the pork schnitzel. She loved it. 2 perfectly beaded cutlets with mashed potatoes and gravy with mushrooms. Our server was a lovely older woman that reminded me of my Nana. She was sweet and attentive and check on us often. We met the owner/chef and he was a gentleman and thank us for coming. I would give this place more stars if I could. read more

Butter is a bistro that opened at the Frogtown Inn Bed & Breakfast in Canadensis, Pennsylvania in January 2021. It was founded by executive chef Mark Arnao. Coming from an Italian and Hungarian household, Arnao's culinary interest was sparked at Sonessa's Restaurant in Philadelphia's Italian Market District. His mother worked there and he later worked as an apprentice under head chef Tom Sonessa. After reaching adulthood, Arnao worked at vatious high end hotel restaurants in Philadelphia and New York City. It was during this period that he learned all aspects of culinary hotel operations. Arnao dreamed of having his own business and later opened the Frogtown Inn and its on-site restaurant Butter in the Pocono Mountains. The bistro quickly gained a reputation for having the best casual, refined fine dining experience in the area. My family and I recently visited Butter while we were spending Memorial Day weekend in the Poconos. For cocktails, I ordered the "Sour Cherry" (Woodford bourbon, orange jam, orange bitters, blue agave) while my wife ordered "A Blue French" (crushed blueberries & lemon, Bluecoat gin, champagne). They both really hit the spot. For our entrees, I ordered the "Veal Chop à la Butter" (prosciutto, dried tomato, mushrooms, roasted onions, sherry herb cream), my wife ordered the "Lobster & Peas Campanelle" (chopped lobster, tarragon cream), and our son had the "Margherita Flatbread" (Ma's tomatoes, fresh cheese, basil pesto). Although the wait for our food was quite long, it was worth it because our dishes were exemplary! We couldn't remember the last time we were more satisfied with a meal! Great restaurant- more involved food than we normally go for but it was on par with what we'd get when we go out at home in Philadelphia. Wonderful service and food was delicious. We normally head to ABE vicinity but didn't feel like driving. My husband decided to try this restaurant that is part of a B&B. The property is the former Frogtown Inn and quaint. The atmosphere is quaint. The waitstaff are very friendly and courteous. The food was ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS. A gentleman approached from behind the bar to ask if we were enjoying our meal. It wasn't until we were departing that my husband met a host at the front door who informed us that her son is Chef Mark. While talking, he came out and it was the same gentleman that asked if we were enjoying our meal. Both of us had to shake his hand and assure him that we would return. While out of town for work I heard about this restaurant so decided to give it a try. When I arrived I parked in their private lot. I walked in and it is a bed & breakfast style place. I decided to sit at the bar and Angela was my bartender/server and she was nice. I started with the lemon drop and it was nice and strong. I then got the pinot nior. For my meal I got the penne pasta and had them add shrimp for an up charge. While I waited garlic bread came out piping hot and it was so good. The pasta came out and it had cheese on it and I didn't know they added that. They graciously took it back to correct it which I appreciated. After a few minutes it came out and I dug in. It was soo tasty and had a little kick. I truely enjoyed my meal and my experience. read more

Fantastic food and great, friendly service. It has a great vibe as well. I had a hanger steak special that I will remember for a long time. My wife had the miso glazed salmon with edamame dumplings. We were both jealously eating off each other's plates. They even managed to elevate the tuna tartare. All that and they have a $30 bottle wine list (never seen that before) and the wine was great. My wife and I eloped and came here for our post-ceremony dinner. We wrote down in our reservation that we were celebrating getting married, and the staff went above and beyond to make our meal feel special. We were greeted and congratulated at the door by Carol, the owner; our table was decorated with some really adorable celebratory decor; and throughout the night every member of the waitstaff made sure to come out to our table and check in on us. We especially appreciated our waitress, Angela, and how sweet and attentive she was. Not only was the experience good, but the food was delicious. We got the corn/crab soup, grilled Caesar salad, Thai peanut shrimp, and penne arrabbiata, and all were excellent. Drove here after reading the good reviews. It's a nice place, cosy restaurant inside a bed and breakfast style inn. They were fairly busy but were able to squeeze us in with no reservation. We shared a seafood flatbread and butchers block (which that day was lamb chops over a curry flavoured risotto). The seafood pizza was tasty, but very light on actual seafood, it was flatbread mainly covered in straws of zucchini and smothered in sweet soy sauce. Could have done with 50% less sauce and zucchini and 100% more seafood. The lamb chops were excellent, truly a great dish. Presentation was good on both items. I tried a local gin and glass of house red, both decent. In the back car park is a backing brook with a tiny bridge and some seats to hang out if you want. It's a nice place. read more
