Can never get a hold of the care team for my son. Very rude place - wished IU Hospital had a bed so as to not have to deal with this place.

The nursing staff, admissions, and others, were very good to mediocre, and even dangerous. They are maxed. Full hospital and ER when I arrived. Fifteen hours from ER to get to a bed. They ignore alarms, call buttons, and are really harrowed as a nursing staff. They're poor communicators. They are rushed. Yes, there are excellent nursing staff (RN/LPN) and a few that don't have time, are not situationally aware, and at worst, deliver dangerous care. It's my guess that certain administrators and MBAs need to be sacked, and the quality of care revisited, as it is not endemic, it is not a goal, and it is not woven into what they do-- the professional staff excepted. If you can avoid going here for ER/ED treatment, go somewhere else. This place is screaming over-capacity, and terrible interdepartmental communications; this was my anecdotal experience. YMMV.

The hospital might be new but it is not good. Gave instructions for him to never go there again. To go to the Bedford IU hospital it maybe smaller and older but he got great care there.

I came to Monroe Hospital in severe abdominal and chest pain. I could barely walk and collapsed to…read morethe ground because I couldn't stand. The pain was so intense I genuinely thought I was going to die. After an EKG, my experience went downhill. An older male staff member undressed me with the door open, compromising my privacy. He then attempted to draw blood. It was extremely painful -- I was screaming and crying -- and when he forcefully pulled the needle out, I told him I could not tolerate another attempt and asked for someone else. He told me that if I refused him, I would "be waiting in pain." I then laid in a room for over an hour and fifteen minutes crying, moaning, and vomiting from the pain. No one checked on me. Staff were laughing and joking in the hallway while I was in visible distress. When I pressed the call button, it took several minutes for someone to respond. I told the nurse I was in unbearable pain and that something was seriously wrong. I was told, "I'm not going to listen to you complain," and he walked out. I left immediately and went to IU Health Bloomington Hospital. There, I was treated right away. An ultrasound showed my gallbladder was swollen with stones. My white blood cell count and liver levels were elevated. I required pain medication, nausea medication, further imaging, and may now need admission and possible surgery. This was a serious medical emergency. The lack of urgency, compassion, and professionalism at Monroe Hospital could have resulted in severe complications. No patient in that level of pain should be dismissed, humiliated, or ignored.

At one point I went into the emergency room about 15 years ago and had to have my appendix removed. It was a fantastic experience, all things considered. I've also used them for primary care for a long time. IU Health is a beast that should be avoided at all costs. Monroe can handle X-rays, MRIs and a number of other services. The building size is modest, which is great for people like me who can't walk very far comfortably. They are always friendly, and the NPs I've used for my primary care have been fantastic. Support them every chance you get. The services are great, and we need to keep them going.

The sweet ladies at Dr Labban/ Dr Harris's office Assured me they could get me in and that I would get great care. I was thrilled. I think I even cried on the phone, but that's pregnancy hormones For ya. The office, although a little old-school, is clean and they are very professional. I received great care through my pregnancy, and labor and delivery. Dr Labban delivered my son via Caesarean section and he did such a great job. My scar is great, as good as a scar can be. I really appreciate these doctors and the women they have working for them. They make me feel comfortable, at ease, and the billing and scheduling system is easy-going. I would recommend these doctors to any of my female friends.

I dealt with a problem for two years; it was the most miserable and frustrating years of my life until these two doctors cared enough to get to the bottom of the problem and made the necessary referral for me. Dr. Chang and Dr. Ghosh are both very kind, understanding and patient. I had abdominal rectal prolapse surgery on 11/12/09 at Kendrick Regional Center and it couldn't have gone any better. I was terrified about being put out and having this surgery, but these two doctors encouraged me, were very positive, continued to advise and help me until I had the surgery. Dr. Johansen and Dr. Maun performed my surgery and did an exceptional and outstanding job. I'm doing great and I can't say enough good things about Dr. Ghosh and Dr. Chang. They have both been amazing and given me exceptional treatment. Dr. Ghosh and Dr. Chang at IMA Associates truly display the highest qualities of a wonderful and caring doctor. I would rate these two doctors above and beyond five stars. I'm very grateful to have them as my doctors and give them my sincere thanks and greatest appreciation. Susie F.

I came to the east side and was told there was an hour wait. I was told to drive across town to…read morethe new location on the west side where there was zero wait time. I did. There was a full waiting room on the west side and a line backed up to the door. They were advising people to drive to the east side. People were really upset as they'd all driven from the east location to the west upon front office staff advising they do so. I was sick enough that after being told they had over an hour wait at the west side I drove home and did a virtual visit which is exactly what I'll do next time I'm sick. This was a super frustrating situation because the offices were not communicating with each other, but both telling people to go to the opposite location.

Updating my review, specifically for Rita Burkholder NP's office and the online "patient portal"…read morewhich is supposedly how your provider communicates with you. IMA Landmark is now part of IU Health. I have always had good experiences with IU Health. Unfortunately, this has not been the case with Rita's office. I had a test run at the end of February. The results were sent to Rita's office within 24 hours. It took a week for them to get the results to me and only after I called the office, was on hold for ten minutes and then had to have Rita's nurse call me back. I had checked the patient portal multiple times and they had the test listed but no results so that was when I decided to call her office. I asked her nurse if it normally takes a week to get test results and she got defensive. I wasn't blaming her or anyone, I just wanted to know if it is normal to wait a week for test results. I also asked her if the results of the test would be put on the patient portal and she said they would be. The actual results of the test (the numbers) are STILL not on the patient portal. So, while I received a diagnosis (very bluntly delivered over the phone from Rita's nurse) , I have no idea of what the actual results of the test are. Called again today, this time on hold for about five minutes. Had to leave a voicemail for Rita. Hopefully the results of the test will be put up on the patient portal which is supposed to be how we can see our test results, communicate with our doctors and take an active role in our healthcare. Very disappointed in the level of communication with my healthcare provider and the total uselessness of the patient portal. Hoping this improves but definitely considering finding another provider.
