His fur had gotten matted in a few areas but Jess took good care of him. She took the time to ask us how we wanted his hair cut after I told her about my experience at a pet store groomer. They shaved Rocket down too short and I didn't like how he looked. Jess took out her clippers and shaved a small section on Rocket to show us three different lengths. It's much easier to see it this way compared to a board of fake fur squares at the pet store. Jess was done with Rocket in an hour and twenty minutes so he didn't need to be trapped in a cage before or after while waiting his turn. Only one dog family at a time here means your dog gets the attention he or she needs! I will definitely bring Rocket back to Jess and recommend anyone who needs a groomer to take your fur baby here!

PSA - Avoid this place if you love your pet.....seriously…read more Wanted to submit this review earlier but we were trying to come out of this shock. I wish there was option of giving negative stars We booked appointment 1 month ago and on the same day she charged my card. On 22nd we went there.. dropped our exclusive adorable Maltese pup, as she won't allow us come inside we gave her our pup with it's bag on door itself. As mentioned on her website also she confirmed it would take 1.5hr approx but to our surprise she called back in 50 minutes saying dog is ready to be picked. On our arrival she came out and handed over pup in its carry bag saying all set. We took pup out in the car and were shocked as she has not given him bath, brushed teeth or clean ears.. His hairs were still coming off in my hands. Eyes were dirty and face had tear stains all over, as is, and face hairs not trimmed. The body hair cut were uneven. Some places the scalp is visible (see pics) . Now my pup looks are weird and we feel sorry to pick this groomer. It would take atleast 3-4 months to get back his hairs and looks. To be honest either she is unskilled or doesn't know how to handle the job and groom Maltese. On our morning walks people who had been praising him until we visited this place and now they are asking what happened to his silky white fur.. I would never ever take my boy there... Neither suggest anyone to do so even if the services are free.

I ran into a family emergency this morning and had to cancel an appointment for my dog and received the nastiest customer service because of it. That just goes to show you which companies only care about the $$$. There have been times in the past where I'll drop my dog off around 10 am, and he's not ready until almost 6 pm. I've never once complained about that either! If that's the case, what's the point of a scheduled appointment? When I reached out to Pedigree, they were so nasty and unpleasant because of the emergency and couldn't accommodate me. We're still in the middle of a pandemic, and emergencies happen. The lack of empathy shown to me, a customer giving my money to this establishment for over a year, was/is heartbreaking. While I understand that me having to cancel now put them at a loss for a grooming session today, I was willing to make it up by simply rescheduling for ANY day that worked on their end. Instead, I'm subjected to a cancellation fee. Maybe I should've given them a few for "if you have scheduled slots for grooming, why does it take a whole workday to get my dog groomed?" But no... Also, per the owners response to me (and others), she's combative. The business overall lacks accountability and professionalism. Never once did I yell to the receptionist but only asked her q's and let her know I would no longer be coming back. Also, the emergency was not my son not able to come w me. I also only asked about Saturday but mentioned I was okay with waiting weeks out because of my cancellation instead; I was hung up! As mentioned in my review, I've been here many times, and he's always joined because you guys provide curbside pickup. I will continue to advocate for small businesses, but I cannot when they are like this.

I spoke to the owner Rob ,he confirmed my appointment and said the drop off is between 8-9am. I specifically asked him how long will it take and when can I pick up my dog? I had a doctors appointment at 3p ... Rob confirmed back to me a time of between 12- 1pm he put me on hold and checked with Amy the groomer..I thought this was strange because I've had 15 different types of dogs who were all groomed over the years and it never took longer then 2-3 hours..( I know a little something about grooming bc my cousin who was on vacation is a groomer and I've helped her in the past.) I wanted to give PUP PURRI GROOMERS the benefit of the doubt so I agreed.. After waiting 7 hours for what I thought was a grooming I called back only to find out he was never groomed which is beyond CRAZY! When I called and questioned what was taking so long and that 7 hours had passed, the owner Rob got very nasty on the phone and explained that just because I was the first one to drop off my dog at 8a he wouldn't be groomed first...THIS IS A VERY UNUSUAL PROCEDURE. Every groomer I have ever used in NJ and Florida would honor your appointment and within an hour maybe two I would get a call to pickup my dogs..( I had two poms at that time and they were still groomed faster!) Rob spewed a lot of bs and said come at 4p he then hung up the phone on me... ( I WAS FLOORED BECAUSE I AM A NEW CLIENT.) I then received a call from Amy the groomer, she spewed the same thing and said older dogs would be groomed first, or whoever complains the most would get their dog first! WELL MY POMERANIAN IS 12YEARS OLD, ACCORDING TO THEIR POLICY HE SHOULD'VE BEEN ONE OF THE FIRST TO BE GROOMED SO HE DOESN'T GET STRESSED! 7 HOURS IN A CAGE IN A STRANGE PLACE WOULD STRESS ANY DOG LET ALONE MY 12 YEAR OLD POM.. Rob wanted me to wait another hour which would've been 8 HOURS total. I figured out they never groomed him.. ( my dog can go get a procedure done at the vet faster then a grooming at this establishment ..) I TOLD AMY DON'T BOTHER , I'LL TAKE HIM ELSEWHERE.. I got in my car and I went right over there. I walked in the front door and I waited at the desk, I could hear Amy and Rob on the side where they do the grooming. I then heard my dog cry and yelp. They didn't know I was inside at the front desk waiting..The whole place is open style. I could see there were no other dogs in this place...all the cages were empty! When my dog cried I yelled out AMY I WANT MY DOG!! ( they were hurting him!) The owner Rob came out with my dog who wasn't groomed, he was suppose to be washed, shaved , lions mane, and nails clipped....What I thought was also very strange was every time I called which was 3x my calls were routed to their Dunellen store where I got the owner Rob . I explained to him I wanted to make sure that Amy cut the " dew claws" and shave the back end.. I thought it was strange that when I called I didn't get Amy herself. I kept getting the owner at a different location in Dunellen.. 15 minutes later I get a call from Amy on her cell phone explaining to me that she has no phone in the building. Again this is extremely strange! Every groomer I've ever been to has had a working phone to book appointments and to call clients when their dog/ dogs would be ready....I explained to her what I wanted because she said that the owner gave her a totally different message and Amy thought I didn't want my dog groomed...this was early on.... I COULD'VE BEEN ANY CLEARER..what exactly I wanted done... At 2:30p I still didn't hear from Pup Purri Groomers. I decided to call again. I finally got a hold of the owner Rob because my call was routed there again and I explained it's 2:30p and my dog was supposed to be done between 12 - 1pm as promised..I also told the owner that I was the first one there to drop off my dog. "He said oh we don't go by that, just because you're the first one to arrive doesn't mean your dog is going to get groomed first.. All the dogs go into a kennel and sit there until they decide which dog their going to groom and when" Their policy is they decide when and who they groom.. Amy said" if a client complains or bitches they will try and push that dog first. My neighbor who used them also said it took over 5 hours to groom his Pomeranian and when he picked up his dog there were no other dogs . FYI SINCE BRINGING MY DOG HERE HE NOW LIMPS WITH HIS RIGHT PAW! I learned a good lesson if it walks like a duck , sounds like a duck , it's a duck! BEWARE OF THIS GROOMER!!! They deserve 0 stars if I could give it!! Interesting how the only other person to review this place has no reviews, 0 friends, and no pictures!
