Sarah is a true artist and does lovely work. We hired Bloomie's on Main to do the flowers for our wedding at Elliston Vineyards on May 21, 2017, and we highly recommend them. Sarah provided us with flowers for my bouquet, a throw bouquet. corsages, boutonnieres, a garland for the gazebo, 10 centerpieces and flowers for our cake. We used hydrangeas, white and purple roses, calla lilies, eucalyptus and few other fillers that I can't remember. Everything was stunning! Plus it is over a week since the wedding happened and the flowers in the centerpieces that my friends took home are still alive and my bouquet is still alive and pretty. This is a late review, but better late than never. Due to positive Yelp reviews, I ordered tulips from Bloomies on Main for my wife. I chose the "Purple Passion" tulip bouquet because tulips are her favorite flower. It was a pricey $75 order for a punch of tulips, but oh well. I placed my order online on a Wednesday, to be delivered to her at home on a Friday. On Thursday, I received a call that they were low on purple tulips, and we're wondering if they could also use pink tulips. I said that was just fine. When I came home on Friday, she got her tulips and was so overjoyed at the gesture, but when I took a look at the quality of the purple tulips, I was floored! The tulips were wide open (not really a problem), and had so many ripped, torn, and holey petals! For $75 dollars, we got ripped up flowers. The pink tulips were pretty, but there were only a few of them. I wish they had asked to switch the color to pink if it meant the quality of the flowers were better. I did a "redo" two weeks later, with a GORGEOUS bouquet of purple tulips from Whole Foods, for only $20. read more

I was all over the place with a limited wedding budget and she was more than happy to work with me. I love fresh flowers and it was one of my main priorities. I had received about 8 different floral quotes before deciding to go with Bloomies and Sarah. I must have changed my ideas 3-4 times and she was always happy to go with what I wanted. I admit I was leary at first that she was able to get my "mish mash of thoughts" spewing out but she NAILED IT and then some! Floristry is an art - and I have generally found the best thing to do when hiring any artist is to give them a price point, a few caveats (such as texture, color, wild/mild, flowers you do or don't prefer) and turn them loose to design something they actually enjoy making. That usually ensures you get something with far more passion and aesthetic than someone bloodlessly recreating the bland and calculated Teleflora and FTD-prescribed arrangements you see online. I wanted to send a big, wild bouquet to my best friend's work in honor of her birthday today, so last night I remotely combed through for local florists in Pleasanton who could do a next-day delivery. Bloomies on Main showed all the same national chain bouquets on their website, but a glance at this Yelp showed customer photos of custom bouquets that were really cool--organically shaped and lush and spilling over with crazy texture. What I wanted to do was call and ask for a custom bouquet, like I usually do, but since it was 3 AM and no one was in the shop, I had to order online. Unfortunately, there was no "custom design" button like the one I saw on a competing florist's site, but they did give the option of a very brief "special instructions" field along with an order. So I picked one of the pleasing-yet-uninspiring Teleflora specials as a template and squished as much exposition as I could into the tiny amount of characters allotted. This is what I actually wrote (and please forgive me if the text constraints make me sound like a 13-year old with a glitter pen): "Plse feel free to customize design/colors - creative/wild ++" I hoped whoever got my message in a bottle would understand it, cryptic as it was. The flowers showed up at noon today and my stunned friend immediately texted me a picture. They were beautiful, and unique. Whoever the floral designer was had punched up the design so artfully that the template bouquet was only a poor, shoeless shirttail cousin. It had snapdragons and tulips and peruvian lilies and tea roses and tall branches of dogwood blossoms and a giant bloom of hydrangea - all in a gorgeous asymmetrical composition. It had what looked like lupine, and even some sort of bromeliad bud - which added to the exotic texture. Do I sound hyperbolic? Maybe, but mostly I'm just really happy to give credit where credit is due - and I love it when people enjoy what they do, and it shows. I will definitely call on them again. My sole suggestion is that it would certainly be cool if they either added more special instruction space or a "custom florist arrangement" option to the website - for those of us who, ahem, for one unimportant reason or another - totally not procrastination or anything - find ourselves ordering blooms at 3 AM. read more

I wanted birthday flowers delivered ahead of the date since the actual birthday was on a Sunday. The website is easy to use. I could schedule the delivery within 24 hours. Other local florists could not accommodate a 24 hour turn around. The arrangement is beautiful. What really impressed me is their customer service. There was a glitch with the delivery location since it was in a gated community. The glitch was on my end not theirs. Bloomies' customer service called me to advise that there was a problem. We got it resolved and their driver went back out a second time and was able to make the delivery. Their customer service department stayed in touch with me until the delivery was made. More businesses need to adopt this protocol. It is their customer service that I Will remember and that has made me a lifelong customer. read more

WOW! I just got married on June 30th and the flower arrangements and my bouquet were absolutely beautiful. During our initial consultation, Sarah presented us with a list of items where flowers might be needed and we went through it all and afterwards she worked with our budget and gave us a very reasonable quote! We had to increase our budget slightly but compared to other florists with great reviews, Bloomies was the most competitive and had the best reviews. Yay for Yelp ;) Sarah was a pleasure to work with and let us have whatever we wanted without pushing her opinion on us. She gave us complete control over what we wanted and she delivered on my big day! I must say, she is quite humble.. as the flowers on my wedding day BLEW me away! These folks just delivered flowers to my mom's apartment at a senior housing community in Pleasanton. I went through FTD, however, I specifically requested Bloomies on Main. I was ready to get into a fight with FTD, with them telling me why they didn't use Bloomies because "it's Mother's Day weekend and we can't please everyone", or some such nonsense that usually goes on these days with pretty much all businesses who have forgotten the art of customer service. But I can report a very positive experience!! They did indeed use Bloomies as I requested, and Bloomies made it exactly as I pictured it would be. My mom is extremely happy (thus, so am I!). I first became acquainted with Bloomies and their incredible work at the end of November when I brought my Grandma from Arizona to live closer to me as her quality of life was taking a downward spiral. I had wanted a flower arrangement to "welcome her" to her new home and new way of life since at 90, she should always be surrounded by something of beauty and to hopefully, never forget it. Well, the time came for "something special" this past weekend as my husband's family gathered together for the Celebration of Life/Memorial service for his maternal Grammie who passed away February 27th. She was a lovely woman-his "pocket sized Grammie" who had 6 children, 10 grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. She was born and raised in Australia and loved purples, blues, and yellow roses(that could have been from marrying an American). We used Bloomies for our wedding and had a so-so experience. The alter pieces were gorgeous, I will say that. My bouquet as well as my bridesmaids had several flowers that were already wilting when they arrived. It wasn't obvious in the pictures, but in person you can certainly tell. Sara is super frazzled by.....life. They had 2 small dogs running around the store barking NON STOP during our appointment. I don't care who you are or what you do, that is beyond unprofessional. You can yell at them to stop, but if it doesn't work you need to put them in a crate or outside....I don't care where, I just want to be able to hear my own voice.
