I called this past Monday to order flowers to be sent to my friend because she lost her mother recently. I selected Alexandria's Flowers due to its proximity to my friend's house. I purposely called the shop on the phone to get a human connection to this very human gesture of caring and wanted to send flowers. While they were professional and cordial I ducked 2 stars for 2 reasons. 1 star removed because the person who answered my call kept wanting for me to go online. I don't go online for this mainly because I want to connect with a person because I want them to understand my intention of sending flowers. This is not something mechanical or should be automated (unless I die and I want to continue to honor my friends with flowers). I do this to many friends all over the world. So I have spoken to many florist around the US and overseas doing the same thing for their birthdays, loss, new baby, etc. So I do have lots of experience in this. Most of the time, they are very happy to connect with you. Another reason I don't want to go online is that I know teleflora or 800flowers usually take a cut and I want to save them this and support local businesses directly. I hope this make sense. Another star removed because when I asked her to send me a picture of the arrangement so I can see what I paid for, she just flat out refused. She said, "oh no we don't to that." I am paying $120 for an arrangement (plus $20 delivery plus tax) that I won't see? I should have hanged up the phone and called another florist! I will attach my receipt so you guys know what I mean. In any case, I want this to be a warning to future orders. I thought I was going to be okay but I was not. I cannot possibly ask my friend to send me a picture just to make sure my arrangement looks like it is worth what I paid. All the florist I have dealt with around the world have sent me pictures, from Germany, Australia, France, Hong Kong, many states in the US. I must have been taking to an employee who really didn't care. So all I know was that the flower delivery happened because my friend thanked me for thinking about her during this time. No idea about the flower because she did not mention it. So I have no way of knowing if it was worth it. Next time, I will use a different florist. Hope this helps someone. read more

I have used this florist many times for dances & other occasions, their little corsages were never perfect but we let that pass at least 3 times. Recently, I spent $170 on an arrangement, at pick up, it was much dingier & sad compared to the photo on line. Plus I had asked for specific flowers at the time of my order & they were the wrong colors. The lady who had made it spoke while pointing at it and walking away 'I can't redo it because I don't have time'. As another store employee didn't know how to react. In the end, from across the store, the same lady agreed to change it to what I had ordered but feeling badly for their mistake as a customer doesn't seem right. read more
