Ask the Community - Bloom Waldessori Play Space

Are you"non-walkers" limited to the infant area, i have an 8 month old who is crawling and standing on their own that likes to play with more "advanced" toys?

Hi! Nope, the non-walkers are not limited to the infant area. They are more than welcome to explore the entire play space. We just keep walkers out of the infant area so that our littlest guests have a safe confined space for them to enjoy.

The employee gave us some rules and even let us go over 10mins. She was super sweet. My daughter had a blast. Kinda wish they had something similar to this near home especially with the prices.

Kudos to my mom (a retired phys-ed teacher and former local) who found Pocolandia - kids need to move in a place without screens or video games, and this place fit the bill perfectly. My wife, mom and I took my daughter to Pocolandia to burn off some pre-nap energy and it was great. Initially, we were the only ones there, and I have to admit I was a little skeptical from the website if this would be a good fit for us. The owner was very apologetic about a slightly delayed opening (we thought they might have been closed or out of business when we first arrived, so I am glad we called!) and kindly comped us half of the hour we were there, which we truly appreciated. Our daughter test-drove some of the toddler things... tiny sliding board, little playhouse, and of course the balloons - she loved those! Then, some more kiddos came and that just amped up the energy. All of the sudden, our little one saw the "big kids" jumping on the bounce houses and climbing and wanted to get involved! Her highlight was the big inflatable bouncy slide in the back. Super-successful way to get out toddler zoomies. The smiles were 100% worth it. This is clearly a passion project small business and the very kind owner (whose name I missed - apologies!) was such a joy to work with. I wish a place like this was close to us in VA, so that we could do a birthday party there. I would describe it as if someone doubled the size of one of those play places I grew up with at McDonalds, and re-assembled it in a store in the mall. Then, compliment it with a 4 or 5 huge bouncy things: castle, slide, obstacle course, etc. Throughout, there's repurposed diner booth seats, chairs, and little kid toys for the toddler crowd (like one of those Step2 roller coasters you saw but never bought because it doesn't fit in your house, but you know you want your kid to try). Oh, and balloons... there's balloons everywhere! There's high-energy music playing and the other parents were a nice crowd. Probably trying to do what we were - get the energy out in a safe place on a cold day. It's not as big as a D-Z Discovery Zone if you remember those, but for the price it's a terrific value. The owner doesn't charge for adults since they aren't allowed on the equipment, but that was perfect as we really wanted to encourage our little one to be brave and explore her boundaries. While we were there the owner was installing some new equipment - clearly she is invested in creating a great experience for her guests. If you are looking for a super-polished corporate-type facility, this isn't it. The equipment has seen some love, but the owner was fastidious about checking and fixing everything. While we were there, I observed her re-padding some of the safety bars around the climbing structure and installing new flooring while triple-checking the bouncy castles. I love the idea of a small business like this and wish her and the team there nothing but success. It looks like for parties, they have all kinds of connections with other small local businesses to make your kids' day. Please consider dropping by - you might find it's more fun then you expected!

We were early, so when we drove by the Snake and Animal Farm, which we have multiple times in the past 4 years, we decided to finally check it out. The Farm is literally located on the side of the road leading to East Stroudsburg, off the 209 or Steven Bridge Road. Tickets are only $12, and we received baggies with animal food for a bit of an extra charge. You walk in and out through a gift shop. We were somewhat surprised by the size of the place and how many different reptiles and animals they have. It took us about 45mins to an hour to get through it all and see all the animals. First you walk through the indoor section with various types of reptiles. Then a tunnel with animals like monkeys and sloths. Finally you come out outside where there are goats and pigs you can feed. There is an area with water where turtles and alligator hang out. There are large cages with bears, macaws, other monkeys, bobcats and more types of animals. We really enjoyed ourselves. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Animals seemed well taken care of. Every animal had a name, some even very specific personalities. It was a fun and pleasant way to kill some time. We might stop by again when we are in the area.

I like that you can get close and look at the indoor animals (snakes, turtles, frogs, little monkeys). Feeding the animals through the tube was fun, it was definitely worth paying the extra money to watch the animals gobble up the snacks. I was disappointed that there was no bathroom (there are porta potties outside) so I had to go to my car to change my little one's diaper. Also know that you won't be spending more than an hour here, it is pretty quick. Overall it is a fun little place. Oh yeah, Where did the parrots go?

One of you can leave and come back but if you all leave you cannot come back. Not bad really if you get about two hours or more play time out of it. There is a food area that sells snack type food if you didn't bring your own. Mandatory to take shoes off but not sure why if you do not engage with the equipment. I have a degenerative condition in my right foot so next time I'm not taking my shoes off. Also, you are basically forced into the bathroom without shoes on, which I feel is extremely unsanitary. I'd leave and come back if I had to because you'll never catch me in a public bathroom with just my socks on. Staff up front was alright, kind of nice, but brisk and to the point. Inside the staff basically ignore you and don't interact with any out of line kids. Parents come to let the kids blow off steam and kind of forget to keep them following any rules, so you need to pay attention to slightly younger kids to keep them from getting hurt. Overall not bad but not all that amazing either. Staff need to be more involved and the no shoe policy is a fail if you don't use the equipment.
