Final Thoughts: 4.68/5
Bagels are such a comfort food and this place has been on my list for a while now. Finally got to try it and they did not disappoint, so I came back for a second time. You'll definitely want to come early because they seem to sell out very quickly. Came at 8:30/9:00am and one of the bagels already sold out during that time.
Food:
Pepperoni Pizza Bloom: 4.7/5
Definitely bias in flavor, so this one has to be my favorite. The combination of a pizza and a bagel just work. There's a soft and airy dough on the inside with a nice bite and chew to it. Texture on the outside is crispy and very flavorful. The cheese is toasted, which gives it a crispy shell layer. Optimal amount of filling is placed in between each slit. This filling seemed to have marinara sauce or a tomato paste with some pizza seasonings. Sundried tomatoes are speckled in the filling and it has a very potent but light flavor that works well with all the other flavors.
Corn Cheese Bloom: 4.6/5
The flavor of the filling on this one was also a delight. It's sweet from the corn, but the savoriness comes out through the mayonnaise and mozzarella cheeze. Another classic combination is the corn and cheese - pretty much a twist on the corn cheese from some Korean spots. For the mayo, kewpie mayo is used, so it compliments the sweetness versus being too savory like American style mayo. It has almost like a whipped cream cheese consistency. Corn bits are found throughout, so it contributes nicely to the favor and texture. Lovely crisp of cheese on top here, as well. Again, this bagel has a nice bite with some chew. Airy and soft on the inside.
Garlic Asiago Bloom: 4.3/5
Pros - The flavor is great. Their fillings all seem to be amazing at baseline because none disappointed. Lovely flavor from the asiago - some nuttiness and a sharpness from the cheese comes out. Works nicely with the garlic flavor. The flavors aren't overpowering each other, which is a plus because these two flavors can be very strong on their own. Deltas - The dough of this one was quite dry and tough. Appearance wise, slightly flatter, so perhaps not enough rise. The filling and garnishes on top were also quite dry. Might be because of the cheese. Not the biggest concern because it still tasted amazing.
Ube Almond Bloom: 4.4/5
I quite like this flavor combo. The almond flavor comes through and the ube is very subtly there. Nice sweetness comes through. Appears to be almond extract, but I personally like the flavor of it. Ube extract, as well, I believe for that rich color and taste. Textures are good for this one. Airiness of the bagel combined with the soft whipped filling and then some crunch from the almonds.
Jalapeno Bloom: 4.2/5
Hmm this one seemed very normal compared to the other ones. It's similar to a classic jalapeno cheese bagel. I'm not complaining because the flavors work. Nice kick from the jalapeno with the cream cheese that cuts through the spice.
Limited Edition - Nutella French Toast Bloom:
Some menu items are rotated in and out, so just a note. This was one of them. I didn't taste it, but I can't see how this flavor combination would fail.
Drink:
Banana Hojicha Latte with Oat Milk: 4.6/5
Delightful. The custard is sweet, luscious, and creamy. By itself, quite sweet, but when mixed with the remainder of the drink, it balances out. Plus points - They provide oat milk substitutions without an upcharge. The banana milk comes out nicely and has that aroma to it. Biscoff crumbs at the top for some texture.
Aesthetics:
These bagels are sectioned and the cream cheese or spread is filled in between the slits. This gives the bagels a very aesthetically pleasing look versus the usual bagel that is sliced down the middle. My one note is that the ratio of filling to dough is uneven sometimes because of how it is torn. If you're careful about it, this shouldn't be a concern.
---------
Price: Fair to expensive
Considering the item is a bagel, $8 to $9 for one may seem expensive. While I also think the pricing is quite expensive for this particular food item, I am here for the quality and the product that is produced/sold. Definitely not your standard bagel if you think about it. Specialty bagel perhaps? For the drinks, they appear fair in pricing with a range of $4 to $7 depending on what you get.
Service: Pleasant
Their employees appeared very pleasant and nice. Smiles and greetings all around.
Ambiance: Smol grab-n-go shop
Very small shop with the display counter and cashier taking up most of the interior space. One tall table is front of the door and one seat is on the left side corner. Seems to be a grab-n-go place though. With that said, I do recommend taking at least one bite there for the freshness experience is able.
Location/Parking: Fair
Fairly small plaza with just a few shops around. It's in the middle of the line of shops, so appears optimal in location. The parking lot is quite small, but it appears optimal for this plaza. read more
