We told her the vague vision we had and loved the inspiration photos she sent us back. We specified what colors and general feel we wanted ("fall" but without pumpkins or maple leaves) and went back and forth a bit on the ceremony centerpiece, but beyond that we left a lot in her hands. I'm so glad we did because she got to do what she does best, which is create incredible floral art. I think Gina is also a bit magical because she did something pretty special and extraordinary with our flowers... A few weeks before the wedding she texted and asked me what jewelry I was going to wear on the big day. I sent back a picture of the earrings I planned to wear, red coral drops that my now-spouse had gotten me on a special vacation to Italy. He bought them for me in Napoli, a city that is very dear to my heart, and I chose them because they remind me of the "cornicello" a Neapolitan good-luck symbol that looks a bit like a red chili pepper. I didn't tell Gina any of that -- but on our wedding day she had red chili peppers scattered throughout our floral arrangements, including in bouquet. It absolutely blew me away! It felt like I was surrounded by little bursts of good luck everywhere I looked that day, and just meant the world to me. It also struck me as incredibly creative -- I'd never thought about including peppers in floral arrangements, and so many guests asked us about them. Finally, not only is Gina deeply creative but she's also a true professional. We had to move our entire ceremony from a redwood forest to our indoor reception venue on short notice due to rain. Gina pivoted on a dime without complaint, and really busted her butt to bring inside the forest feel we'd spent a year dreaming about. Furthermore, she and her team, with the help of our caterer and coordinator, flipped the ceremony space from an altar, aisle, and chairs, to a sit-down dinner for 140 in about 90 minutes. It took my breath away to see how she transformed the space and to experience how different it felt, and it was not lost on us how incredibly hard she and her team worked on our wedding day. And in one final very thoughtful surprise, she had purchased beautiful wooden cutouts of our and our wedding party's names for our plates at the head table. We had no idea she'd done that and were so touched by the gesture. To top it off, Gina was incredibly easy to work with, start to finish. She was a clear communicator, had easy online booking and payment, and was willing to work with our firm budget. I can also vouch for her special occasion arrangements; I hired her to send a bouquet to a friend for her birthday, and the arrangement was gorgeous. I'll be coming back to her for all my flower needs, whether everyday or special occasion, from here on out, and recommend her to everyone!

I adore the beautiful arrangement and am so impressed with the level of customer service offered. They also included care instructions with a packet of nutrients to ensure that the bouquet stays looking gorgeous for as long as possible. I will definitely be ordering more gorgeousness from them soon!

Look at our picture, it looks beautiful but it doesn't reflect our experience. I'm posting this…read morereview to make sure that no other bride goes through the same experience. When we hired Alicia (more than a year before our wedding) we thought we were getting someone experienced. What we failed to realize is that we would end up with someone burnt out (my MIL noticed right away and only met her once) who just wanted to create a cookie cutter wedding. She has her go-to venue in Napa and also claims she has done lots of weddings in the city. But she is not a top planner, at least not in San Francisco. Look at her reviews. If you notice, most of them worked with Jessica. (I didn't get to work with her until the day of and she was confused because she wasn't engaged from the beginning!) Alicia has been doing this for 10 years and only has a handful of good reviews. She gives you a spreadsheet that she makes you fill out as a couple as a "getting to know you." The ironic part is, she hardly reviews it or even cares to go through it with the couple. She skips almost all the meetings to try to book future appointments and leaves you with her assistants, even though you've paid for full planning. She lets her "team" take care of everything but they don't communicate, so you find yourself having to explain things over and over again. She also doesn't take responsibility when things go wrong. Instead, she just pushes the blame to the vendors. She'll also steer you away from your design if she doesn't have the rental items in her back room. She'll tell you that things are unavailable in the Bay Area, until you do a google search yourself and tell her to help you source what you find. I could go on and on, but if you are a bride that wants to enjoy your wedding planning process and day, do yourself a favor and get a real planner who wants to make your wedding dream a reality. When I realized that Alicia K Designs was a huge disaster, I had to re-engage the wedding planner I worked with before moving to California from the East Coast to help me with my ideas and designs. After the wedding I tried to work things out with Alicia but she just ignored me because she had already been paid.

Alicia definitely knew the venue well and had a good relationship with both Kunde and our caterer (Park Avenue). This expertise definitely came in handy in working with the venue and vendors. Specifically, Alicia's team handled the lighting for the event well, even despite a completely new setup at Kunde after they renovated/landscaped their hilltop. The entire setup was perfect and the flow was great. Our guests (plus us) had such a great time and it was a wonderful event. My initial consultations with Alicia were great but there were some issues with some of the later follow-ups. She delivered the initial proposal over a month later than was promised and because of this our timing was quite condensed. I responded to everything she sent to me within 24 hours but she was continually delayed in getting back to me. I only mention this because I felt pressed towards the end to approve the proposal even with some minor errors because we had run out of time. Also, she passed off our wedding to her coordinator (Jessica) as we got closer to the event. Although in our contract it stated that Alicia herself would be our key contact leading up to and including the wedding day it was actually Jessica that became our main contact. Jessica was wonderful and very attentive but there were slight issues with timing for the day-of. Not a big deal, but I was frustrated because I was promised Alicia would be on-site including a guarantee the morning of the wedding. The wedding itself was absolutely fantastic - again Jessica did a great job and will continue to develop into an excellent coordinator. I think their team is definitely a solid team to use, I just had some minor issues with feeling passed along but nothing that wouldn't stop me from recommending this team to future brides.

My husband & I worked with Sunshine Flowers for our wedding in July and were very happy with them!…read more We started by reviewing photos on the website based on a coworker's recommendation, and decided to meet with Constance in person. She had even more photos when we met in person and we had plenty of examples to discuss. She taught us a lot about flower types & flower designs. She is definitely passionate about her profession. I found it very helpful to bring in photos of flowers that I liked from Pinterest, The Knot, etc. Between that and her suggestions to provide color swatches and photos of the dresses, I felt pretty confident in her ability to create the right look for our wedding. On the wedding day, I was absolutely amazed by how beautiful my bouquet was! It had succulents and hints of bright orange among the white, just as I wanted. The bridesmaid flowers were a mix of orange and yellow, and matched with the bridesmaid dresses beautifully. They was a little more yellow than I'd prefer, but I guess that's what I get for requesting NO PINK. The boutonnieres were small succulents and looked nice. She even did small hair pieces for me. In general, Constance is talented, and has a great selection of flowers that allowed me to get the flowers that I wanted. It was a bit more expensive than I expected, but she was very flexible and suggested reusing the ceremony flowers for the centerpieces and cocktail hour flowers for dancing in the barn. Since people were only at one of those places at a time, no one would notice that they were being reused. it worked out well! I'd definitely recommend working with Sunshine Flowers.

Every problem I describe in my review is the absolute truth. I'm a librarian. I keep notes. It's in my blood. I can't help it. Plus, I have the pictures that show me without flowers before the wedding. AND I have the paperwork I filled out for her with all the instructions written out (that ultimately weren't followed). Yes, I still have the paperwork (see librarian note above). Multiple copies. Because she kept losing them. For real. * Conni NEVER called to finalize anything with me. I had to call her. * She did lose our paperwork. She did tell me her computer crashed. * She did tell us she would be out of town the week before the date. * She did NOT deliver the flowers to where I was getting ready. * The flowers were NOT the colors I specified. * She did not deliver all the boutonnieres. * She did charge us without sending a final invoice (so, like, I could see if she charged us for the missing boutonnieres, maybe?) * And she did reply to my email with "did you send me an email?" I still have the email. Really. Having said all that, the flowers were lovely. Truly. I think Conni's probably an excellent florist. She even uses a picture from my wedding on her website. She should. It's a good picture. But doing "business" with her was stressful. My words of caution go to the bride who is super particular and wants her vendors to follow her instructions to the letter. That was not MY experience with Sunshine Flowers in 2006. As a little side rant ('cause I'm good at that) I have to say, I'm a little pissed she would even try to respond to this review since I'm pretty sure she doesn't even remember who I am. So how would she know if it was inaccurate or not? But, I'd be more than happy to go over it all in detail if Conni wants to discuss it with me personally (since we never did get a chance to do that at the time due to, let's say, technical difficulties). I'm sure she has all my contact information on file, as she remembers so clearly what actually took place. :-)

My fiancé (at that time) and I weren't ready for a MEX-FIL grand wedding but still wanted to have a small gathering to celebrate our union. We met that Nov at starbucks Sunvalley Mall, and I knew right away that she was the perfect person for us. Me and Omar did get married on May 2018 thru the courthouse and fast forward to early March of 2019, we decided to actually plan for our big wedding which was set on June 6, 2020. Throughout the planning process, we met Danny (Janelle's husband and also part of Visionary Events and Designs team) they are both super talented and supeeeer nice and we just all get along very well, which made this whole wedding journey soooo much better! From creating our vision boards to our meetings which I alwayssss look forward to, Janelle & Danny made sure me and Omar (the groom-zilla) compromise in every decision we make. They are very neutral, explained pros and cons of every lil detail, mind you, there are details that we won't even probably think of until it was all laid down to us. The amount of details from planning a wedding is unbelievable. Which is why we appreciate them a loooot, like A LOT. Unfortunately, COVID hit and we had to postpone our wedding...... not only once but 3X!!! TBH, I seriously do not know what I'd do without Janelle during this time. The mixed of emotions from postponing to the stress of how things are uncertain. She took care of contacting each vendors and moving dates, made sure everything lined up. We did lost some vendors and she did looked for replacements right away, we trusted her 100000%. Our patience was tested and we are just super lucky we have Janelle to put things into the right place!!! Literally the amount of work she puts in behind every event are underestimated unless you actually experience first hand and see all the effort she does! Visionary Events and Designs stood by us from start to finish! ooof! (thankful, grateful, blessed 1000%) Fast forward to Oct 2, 2021, with sooo much anticipation and years in the making LOL, our dream wedding finally came true! All the hardwork and patience was definitely worth the wait!!!! I saw the venue layout through a pdf document, and bam! when I saw it in person I was speechless! It took me some time actually process everything as it just feels soooo surreal! Danny and Janelle made sure we had the most perfect and epic wedding PERIOD! I know there were challenges during the day of, but we honestly have no idea of anything. Which clearly explains that they solved whatever it was/it may be without taking us away from our special moment. I know we wouldn't be able to do it by ourselves, and we truly appreciate eeverrrrrrrryyything Visionary Events and Designs did to make it all possible! They are indeed THE DREAM TEAM. and we're lucky to call them OUR DREAM TEAM. Danny and Janelle isn't just our wedding planners, throughout the wedding planning journey, they've become family. We witnessed their amazing wedding in 2017 (thru social media LOL -we barely met) to actually celebrating their own milestone (Janelle's Baby Shower) and welcoming Baby Colton! We are soo blessed to be a part of their own journey as much as they've become part of ours as well. And we truly value their presence in our lives! We couldn't thank them enough as there's no words that can equal the amount of gratitude we feel for the both of them and Visionary Events and Designs. No 5 stars will be enough to rate everything that they have to offer! PERIOOODT. Highly recommend 10000/10000 to hire them as your next event planner/coordinator!!! We got many compliments from our guests on how smooth and relaxed the day felt, and that is a testament to Courtney's incredibly hard work. I would also note that Courtney was completely respectful of our budget and priorities. She puts in the time to learn what is important to you, and keeps that in mind as she offers excellent, candid advice. Courtney also went out of her way to save us money in ways we simply would not have thought of on our own. A final note to anyone on the fence about hiring a coordinator: Do it! (Specifically, Courtney!) I consider myself a fairly organized and detail-oriented person, so when I started planning, I wasn't sure that I needed a coordinator. But I now believe that the more organized you are, the more you appreciate and value a partner at (or, in Courtney's case, way above) your level.
