Amazing local restaurant! Always homemade and delicious. We have eaten in the restaurant and had take out and both are prompt and delicious. If you are there on a pumpkin pancake day, order them! I just had a five star breakfast here -Jolly Green Giant with egg whites and without cheese. It was one of the best omelets that I have had in a long time-fresh asparagus, spinach... I also had the pumpkin bread which as others have said is not to be missed. The service was also excellent and cordial. Good place to start the day! read more

Found out about this gem last week. I think they put crack in the Hot Apple Dutch Pancake. I've been dreaming about it ever since. Very nice restaurant. Great food, great atmosphere, quick service. The coffee was awesome. The restaurant was very busy and once seated we had our drinks, including a latte, within 2 minutes and our food in less than 10 minutes. The home style potatoes were the best I've had. We went for our first visit on Sunday morning. Although we have lived near by for a while we just didn't think about the place often enough to remember to go. And while the outside is neat and clean the location next to an overpass and the railroad tracks just wasn't calling to us. But we are so very happy we went. Met a friend for breakfast this morning and had a wonderful time. Service was very friendly, quick, and attentive throughout the morning yet even though we stayed for a bit after our meal to chat, we never felt rushed. I had the Fireman's Omelette and asked for it without jalapeños and it did not come with any. The omelettes are huge and it was quite good. I would go back in a heartbeat. We had a pretty bad experience at this restaurant. The service was very poor right from the start: we entered and, despite a line of at least three parties, there was no one at the front of the house to take names for their seating list. I don't mind waiting, but it would have been nice to get our name on the list and move out of the cramped entry area. As a result, the entryway was crammed with people for at least 20 minutes, because everyone was just waiting in line to get their name on the seating list. The servers at this restaurant have the most dour, uninterested looks I have ever seen. It is reflected in their service. When we were finally seated, someone simply led us to the booth and then walked away. I said thanks, he mumbled something back. Our server came over promptly at least, and took our drink orders, then came back with the drinks and took our meal orders...and that was the last we saw of her until the meal came out (which seemed like half an hour later, but was probably shorter, as I was becoming impatient waiting for the server to come back and refill my drink. I didn't even see her in the dining area.) So, the food comes out. It was ok, but nothing special. At least IHOP quality. The hash browns were cold. The toast was nice and sliced thickly. For the price, the portions were good. Our server delivered the food to us without a word. She also did not come back to ask if everything was OK until AFTER we were done eating. What ever happened to the two-minute rule? Although the food was acceptable, I'd be reluctant to recommend this restaurant because the service is terrible. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day, but there are enough great breakfast/brunch restaurants around East Lansing that I don't feel compelled to give this one another try. read more

Not mouth watering but yes, a decent place for breakfast while in Haslett- maybe the only place?! I wish this was around when I actually lived in Haslett! They could use better coffee and it's a little too greasy but hey, this is a perfect place to come after a long night of partying! Good food and great service. Went twice in two days. Day one I had the Acapulco omelette and was nicely surprised at how fresh the jalapenos were. Not what you expect away from an authentic Mexican place. Day two I had the eggs benedict. Nothing fancy, but they both ask my preference and delivered the exact level of done-ness on the poached eggs. Not many places ask let alone get it right. And I can't forget that they never let my coffee mug get more than half empty. And I drink a lot of coffee. read more

Great atmosphere - relaxed & friendly. A spacious dining area & even though it was crowded they do a good job of keeping the wait short. The food was delicious! Portions are really large so order accordingly or plan to take food home (most people do)! Wait staff are attentive without feeling like you are being rushed. My husband and I live in the area and have tried this restaurant many times, usually every few months. We always hope that things have improved. Today my husband ordered eggs medium and they were burned again. Sausage was cold, english muffin was overdone, no creamer available on the table, didn't give the correct change and no one was nearby to correct it. I usually try an omelette and they are always overcooked and tasteless. We have also tried lunches and the portions are huge, no one needs to eat that much food!! Try Fernando's instead!! read more

Went at 9:30 on a Sunday morning. Busy but were seated right away. Server was outstanding. The place is not fancy and nothing to look at from the outside. 4 of us all ordered different breakfasts and all were outstanding. Truly one of the best breakfast restaurants I have ever been to. Blondie's does all of your standard breakfast food very well, all at a reasonable price. Some things that set it apart include: it's extensive coffee menu (lots of dessert drinks if you're looking to treat yourself), it's Dutch menu (I recommend any of the sweet Dutch pancake dishes), and pumpkin bread - a personal favorite of mine- which you can get as a side. As with any popular breakfast place the service can be slow at peak hours, but it's worth the wait. read more

The hubs and I were introduced to Blondie's when we were merely living in sin...it was our pre-cana outing, and Blondie's catered it. A couple of weeks later we were trying to decide where to have breakfast and remembered Blondie's. We strolled up to the barn and got seated right away. We both got egg white omelettes with some homestyle potatoes and toast. The thing I like about their omlettes are the veggies are fresh. Some places you have breakfast around here (ahem, Flap Jack) the vegetables seem canned. You know, like that hospital green colored green peppers, etc. You can tell that everything was prepped fresh at Blondie's. And the omelettes come stuffed with the ingredients you order. The service can be a little spotty. I get the feeling sometimes that the waitresses were out just a wee bit too late the night before, But, hey, it's breakfast in a college town. What else can you expect of the servers! Good food, and so far my #1 breakfast in town. read more
