Yorkville location: I've been a loyal Blo customer for many years in Vancouver, going regularly for blowouts twice a month. The Vancouver locations have always shown excellent customer service and have consistently respected the longstanding relationship we built. On the rare occasions when something unexpected forced me to cancel outside the allowable window, they were always understanding and never penalized me. I recently moved to Toronto and have now had three appointments at Blo Yorkville -- and unfortunately the experience has been very different. My appointment was for 6:15pm, scheduled around my daughter's birthday dinner. I also had a long-awaited furniture delivery set for 3-4pm which ran significantly late. I called Blo's Toronto main number to explain the situation and ask about my options, and was told I would be charged the full amount if I didn't show. Wanting to avoid that, I chose to leave the delivery and rushed to my appointment. I arrived at 6:10pm, five minutes early. There was only one stylist working, and she informed me she didn't even know about my appointment. She was still working on another client and estimated a 10-15 minute wait -- but based on what I saw, it would likely be longer. With the salon closing at 7pm and the stylist still needing to finish her current client, it was clear I wouldn't receive proper service. Despite the fact that I arrived on time and was physically present, Blo Yorkville still charged my credit card as a "no-show." I did not miss the appointment -- they simply had no stylist available for the booking they confirmed. This was deeply disappointing, especially compared to the exceptional service I've always received from Blo in Vancouver. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reviews both their scheduling practices and their approach to customer care. Loyal clients should not be penalized for the salon's own staffing issues. read more

I've been going to Blow Bar (downtown & King West) for years. Q is an amazing stylist -- the only one I've found who can handle my thick hair and whose blowouts last a full week. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have been very disappointing. On two separate occasions, I booked appointments specifically with Q, only to arrive and find out he wasn't there that day. The first time, I reluctantly went ahead with another stylist and left unsatisfied with a flat blowout. For my second booking, I even confirmed with the front desk that I should be notified if Q wasn't available so I could reschedule. Despite this assurance, I showed up again to find Q absent. On this last visit, I was told by Rehana (store manager) and Jasmine that I would be charged a cancellation fee if I didn't proceed with my appointment, even though the salon hadn't honored their commitment to call me. They later waived it as a "one-time favor," which felt dismissive rather than fair. I've also had blowouts from both Jasmine and Rehana in the past, and they've consistently been flat and disappointing compared to Q's work. To make matters worse, I was told Blow Bar doesn't guarantee any stylist -- even though stylists here regularly ask clients to rebook with them. Q is excellent, but the poor communication, inconsistency, and dismissive treatment from management and staff mean I can no longer recommend Blow Bar or return as a client. read more

Blowout: 7 Service: 2 I am just so dissatisfied with this experience at Blo King West. I arrived a couple of minutes late, which I had notified the owner about. When I did get there, there was only one staff member and she didn't even acknowledge me entering. She was still helping the previous guest with a membership problem which took about ten minutes. When she finished with that guest, she told me it was time to wash my hair and she did, seemed very rushed. When she was done I was told to sit in her chair, and she said 'what would you like?' without even showing me the lookbook, so I asked for it. I told her what I would like, and she started working on my hair. At this point she has made zero effort to get to know even my name which was frustrating to me. The store music stopped after five minutes into my appointment and then the stylist didn't go to put anything else on. This left the salon dead silent and made the appointment so uncomfortable for me because my service provider wasn't even speaking to me. I wasn't asked how I wanted my bangs blown, so I left with very puffy 60's bangs. I had a photoshoot at 6pm this day, and the bangs seemed to calm down a little after about an hour. I recommend Blo on Yonge street to my sister visiting from out of province. 25 minutes after my sister appointment they finally took her to wash her hair. Then they left her in the chair for 1/2 hour with soaking wet hair while they had their lunch. A simply wash and blow out for medium hair took over 2 hours. Utterly ridiculous. I had been trying to get in touch with them since I woke up, I finally got in touch with them at 9:45am where I told them I had woken up with a 103 degree fever and I was extremely sick so I had to cancel my appointment that was scheduled for the evening. I was told "you will be charged the cancellation fee which is $60". When I said, "I did not plan to wake up sick, can I reschedule and not pay a fee for something out of my control? You can clearly hear it in my voice.. you want me to come get everyone sick?" I got the response "sorry that's how it is, so we will see you at 6:30 then?" Especially given the fact that people do not want sick people around them and spreading germs, at this holiday season time more than ever, I was disgusted. I have never in my life dealt with more unprofessional, disingenuous and outright selfish business people. They have zero compassion for their clients, and obviously their staff, based on their practices. You are much better off going somewhere else. I was at Blo dry bar today and this was my first experience. The decor is lovely and very minimalist, the location is easy to find and the the products and appliances are all excellent top of the line quality! Now for the bad... - there was really no warm reception when we showed up - the ladies didn't ask if it was our first experience, nor did they go through the menu, they got us to sit and asked what we wanted - I had a blonde lady with long hair in a braid who I found to be cold, as if she was having a bad day - I found the shampoo uncomfortable as her nails were long like daggers and she blew at my hair and brushed it as if she was trying to speed right through. She did not tell me her name or ask mine. - the place was poorly lit and I expected a warmer reception and experience as the place is pretty pricey They also did not let my friend use bet tab for us both which other locations have allowed. I had a horrible experience. I called to book an appointment for blow outs for myself and two friends plus I wanted makeup services. On the phone the customer service representative was so kind and recommended I get the membership since it was my birthday and I had two friends coming with me. She assured me I could book for them and transfer my credits as long as I booked under my name and was with them. Plus she said being a member is get all these great perks and extra discounts. Me and my friends show up we get our hair and my makeup is done. Not only would they not honour my membership credits they wouldn't honour any discounts nor provide a receipt. At the salon I called the dispatch was placed on hold and finally they said they should honour atleast one credit ( was still annoyed but whatever). The lady working the computer argued with dispatch then hung up. Nothing was resolved. Her argument was I could book for friends but not transfer credits, how does that make sense..... I also made all of these appointments over the phone in order to make sure they were done properly. It was my birthday and we were already running late because they were 20minutes late with one of our appointments. I also did the math on my total and I was WAY overcharged. Basically the experience was 'meh'. I have a cast on my hand so I decided to get a blowout - but I definitely would NOT use this location for a special event. She double shampooed my hair even though I asked her not to - didn't really bother to condition it - even though I specified my hair dries out easily. This place is terrible. I am a regular customer, going there almost every week. I had an appointment today at 1:30 PM and I was running late for 10 min due to traffic. I called them and let them know I will Be later for a few min. They didn't tell me anything while I was on the phone. Once I arrived, the lady at the front desk with a terrible attitude told me very rudely that they can't take me because I'm late for 10 min!!!!!!!!!!! while I already called them. I love Blo in Annapolis, MD, so I was happy to find out there was a Blo within ten minutes of my hotel in Toronto. This salon does not compare. Very disappointing. Showed up 10 minutes early for my 4:45 appt as directed. Barely received a greeting and had to get someone's attention after waiting 15 minutes. She shrugged and said no one was ready to take me and that it would be at least another 10 minutes. I sincerely wish I had read the reviews before I went here! From start to finish this was a terrible experience! I had a really important work party to go to so I thought I'd splurge and get a blow out. This was my first experience but I'd heard so many people rave about getting them done, and particularly about this company. First, I booked over the phone, verified multiple times the date and time. Turns out she booked me in for the wrong day. Once I realized that I called multiple times, left multiple voicemails to try and rectify the appt. I got no calls back. I finally rebooked online with no issues. Once at the appt I got greeted by a friendly receptionist, and then it was all downhill from there. My stylist was not friendly, did not talk to me at all. She didn't go over styles at all, I had to pull out my phone and look through the website. I even asked her for style advice and got a couple shrugs. She clearly didn't care at all. Once she actually did my hair though it was terrible! She literally did a few ringlets with a flat iron(not at all like style I asked for). I could have done a better job! I was shocked at the lack of professionalism - 'George' who answered the phone, as extremely curt & abrupt. I told him, I was a new client, and was interested in booking an appointment for a Blo-Out. He then quickly shouted 'WHEN" into the phone, and I said anytime. He replied, again, "WHEN". When I said, again, I was flexible, he quickly replied, "Not until 5pm" What the eff. Geez. I said no thank you, and hung up. (i was actually shocked at his attitude!) Within 30 seconds, 'George' called me back! (call display is an amazing thing ...) And tried to explain that he 'meant' to say, his next available booking wasn't until 5pm. I could sense he was nervous, as he knew I was not impressed by primal booking technique. I said that's fine, but I'm not interested, and ended the conversation. NOTE: I intentionally called, mid-afternoon (2:25pm) during a weekday, hoping to catch them during there down time. I would be a new potential regular client, and I needed a bit of direction ... According to Canadian fashion mags, it's Toronto's first blowout bar - a walk-in one-stop place that meets all your (glorified) blowdrying needs. Personally, I got swayed by the fact they explicitly state that you're not cheating on your hairstylist - something I would never do. I adore my hairguy, he is a hairgod. It took a little more than a year but I finally decided to give it a go. Here's what happened. They say you get a fabulous blow out for about $30 in about 30 minutes. But really you get a good blow out for about $45 in about 40 minutes. I'm okay with the fact it took longer, but $37.29 is the bottom line. Now add tip. A simple shampoo and rinse minus a scalp massage. I didn't get final product or finishing touch. They have several different styles to choose from, including updos. It was fun. My hair looked good. The final word, however, is that I think it's too expensive and not as refined as it could be. No frills may be the way to go than blo. read more

This is a good cheap place to get a blow out. I was happy with how my hair turned out. My only complaints are: THE CHAIRS... They are hard plastic and extremely uncomfortable. I'm all for the Barbie pink girlie style that Blo goes for but does it have to feel like I'm sitting in an actual Barbie chair that a kid would have? The decor was done pretty cheaply but I get the concept they were aiming for. UNDER STAFFED... I was given an appointment time but had to wait quite a bit past the time I was scheduled. Luckily for them, I'm laid back and wasn't in a hurry so it wasn't a problem but I would have rather been told that they were running behind so I didn't rush over there only to sit around and wait. I feel bad though. There was only one person working at the time and her job was to answer phones and schedule the appointments, do the Blo-outs, and sell product to anyone that happened to walk in. It seemed too busy to only have one person doing all of those jobs. In all fairness though, the real culprit for the time delays seemed to be this woman who was fussing over her hair even though I thought it looked great, she kept complaining and asking for it to be fixed which probably made her appointment go over the time it should have taken. If I were her, I would have walked out because it took forever for her to get some assistance. INTERROGATION LIGHTING AT SHAMPOO BOWL... If I'm feeling like I need to be wearing sunglasses while I'm getting my hair washed indoors, then the light is too friggin' bright! What warrants having such bright lighting at the shampoo bowl anyway? Do you really need to be able to see every flake of dandruff while you are washing someone's hair or ??? because I felt like I just got attacked by the paparazzi and was seeing spots after sitting at that shampoo bowl from hell and I even closed my eyes the whole time... The mediocre massage I was given didn't even begin to make up for that torture! Anyway, overall a good experience here and I did discover an amazing new product here. It's called Mane Teeze by T&M Haut Mess Hair Perfume. It makes your hair smell heavenly. I'm so glad I decided to buy it. I scoured the internet for it later to see if I got a good price and I'm thinking this is the only place that sells it. If I had talked myself out of purchasing it, I would have been sad. I decided to go to Blo before my company Christmas party, and I had an interesting experience. The inside of the salon is really cute, and smells great. It has a nice vibe to it, although the receptionist was a bit snobby towards my friend and I when we booked our appointments. It was really busy the day that I went in because there were a lot of Christmas parties going on in the area. We decided to head to the salon early, and it's a good thing we did. When you book here, it doesn't seem like you book with a specific person. The girl who did my hair rushed me (I know it's a quick-service place, but come on...) and it was obvious that she just wanted to go home. She was rough when washing my hair and burned my ear with a hairdryer when drying me. I asked for the "Holly Would" style because I have a lot of thick hair, and I thought it would suit that style well. What I ended up with was NOTHING like the picture in their menu. I was really unhappy with it, actually. It was teetering on the edge between bad 80s prom and 6 year old dance recital. Like I said before, the girl who did it clearly just wanted to get home. After she "finished" me, she threw on her coat and ran out. As I watched my friend get her hair done by a much nicer stylist, I decided that I would ask her to fix me up a bit. I was told that my curls would fall a bit in a couple hours, but I didn't have time to wait and see how it would turn out. We were supposed to head out right away! After explaining that I wasn't happy, the second stylist was sympathetic to my unhappiness. She agreed that the curls were not done properly and promptly fixed them for me. She was really nice, made conversation and did not rush me at all even though she wasn't scheduled to do another person right away. I tipped her instead of the first stylist. Overall, it's a cute concept but it seems as though your experience will vary greatly depending on who you get as your stylist. I wish it was possible to book with specific people! I paid $30 for a 30 minute Blo job... Now that I have your attention, I present to you my hair dilemma: I have curly hair which after 3 consecutive hot and humid days, starts to feel and look like cotton candy and is a pain to style. I am not a ponytail everyday kind of girl, but I don't want to spend the next 2 hours trying to tame the frizz... solution? Blo(w) Bar! The premise is pretty simple: small convenient locations around the city that offer quick and affordable styling without the cutting. George was my fabulous stylist. He was crazy quick and managed to wash, blow dry and flat iron my hair within 30 mins for $30. I want to stress that the service was quick... so if you are used to a relaxing scalp massage during your hair appointment this is not the place for you. George recommended I buy Moroccan Oil to help with my rat nest/hair and I have to agree it's a God sent! I was told that if I was interested I could purchase a "blo tab" which essentially allows you to prepay for 8 styles for the price of 7. In addition to blow dry, they also do fancy ponytails, up-dos and loose tousled curls. This place might start to be my new best friend for in between hair cut appointments. I thought it was cute that the receptionist had a t-shirt that said "Don't worry you aren't cheating on your hairdresser". This was good news because I love my hair dresser :-) read more

Wow - I too am happy to say that I did not have a bad experience, like some of the other reviewers. I was really apprehensive though as I was going to a wedding and thought, why not, let me just get a blowout as a little treat to myself. Making the appointment was super easy - I would recommend online. You receive a reminder email, to which at the bottom, it will ask you to confirm the appointment. When I arrived at 2:45, for my 3pm appointment, no one was manning the front desk. So I just sat and no one gave me the time of day. I immediately began thinking of all the negative reviews and told my self, if no one comes to get me at around 3:10, I'm just walking out. I could hear perceived self-important nasaly-voice girls talking about nothing of significance and fellow hairdressers laughing and giggling as if they were all part of some club. GULP! BUT! I can say my experience was really good. At 3pm, a lovely smiley lady apologized for being late (she wasn't...she was on time) and proceeded to give me a great wash. She asked me where I was going, if I wanted products in my hair, and what style I wanted. In the end, she asked if I wanted hairspray - all great service. She was quick and efficient and I had a GREAT blowout done in 30min. I would highly recommend this. My hair was AMAZING (by virtue of all the comments I received). Super convenient. read more

This blow out experience was the worst I've ever experienced. I could have done a better job myself. I regret making the appointment and paying money for such a horrible blow out. If i washed and air dried my hair it would look better. I will never return to any location. The staff was unorganized upon check in; someone who came in after me without an appointment (it was her first time at this type of establishment) was served before me. When I was finally taken to get washed I explained what I wanted, I doubt she was listening because less than 5 min later she asked me again. I'll skip the other faux pas that occurred while I got my hair washed to when I was seated in a seat where all the dryers didn't work properly. The way the girl was drying my hair indicated she wasn't a professional, I had to ask her to use a round brush several times. After she was "done" I was not satisfied and she said she didn't know what to do. I felt like they just wanted me to leave because they needed my chair. The stylist next to us, who was waiting with her client for her chair to be empty intervened and attempted to add volume to my hair while the girl who was doing my hair moved on to shampooing someone else's hair. Worst experience ever. My hair was so bad I contemplated just tying it up. This was the worst blow dry experience I've had. I told the girl I was going to a gala - so she recommended waves. She washed my hair, dried it using a flat paddle brush (breaking my naturally curly hair in the process) and added some quick waves with a curling iron. The whole process took 15 minutes. Extremely disappointing after I spent $55 on something I now have to redo myself. I've been to blo before - where the stylists have been professional and spent time making sure my hair looked really nice - this was a totally different experience and I will never go back or recommend it to anyone. read more

There's no tension in the brush, so you know that as soon as a little moisture touches your hair (read: humidity) however "fabulous" he made your hair look will be gone. I know. VIBE - KING AND BATHURST LOCATION Blo salon is a great concept: you can come in for a quick blow out and don't have to pay exorbitant prices or wait like at a regular salon (okay, you wait a little bit. Keep this in mind if you are in a rush and give yourself time between the service and the event). Their marketing is playful and catchy (should you subscribe to their newsletter) and their salon is modern yet sleek. Lots of pink and white. Fun music and fun staff. SERVICE Friendly and quick service. I'm not used to paying $40 for a blowout but they did such a good job and curled my hair. Those curls stayed in tact and became a pretty loose wave the next day. I got many compliments. Should you have a high profile event you're attending, this is the place to get your tresses done. OBLIGATORY CATCHY REMARK I'll let these guys blo me dry any day! P.S. It sucks to hear about the service at the Bayview location. Ouch! I think a lot of the locations are different. I would go back to the King St. location no problem. read more

I don't know why this particular location has gotten such poor reviews. I've been to (including this location) 4 different Blo Blow Dry Bars and this one by far is the best I've experienced. It's the biggest; the staff were friendly; the owner even gave me a complimentary hand massage while I was there to promote some products she carries on the side; I was asked if I wanted something to drink (which doesn't always happen at other locations); and my blow out looked amazing. I would definitely come back to the King West location for a blow-out. For those of you who haven't been the concept is simple - for a wash and blow-out $39.55 (incl tax) you get to choose from their standard menu. There are a few updos on the classic menu, but those with short hair will have to go the non-updo route as their updos require pretty long hair. If you want customization or a specific look it'll cost you more. You're usually in and out within 45 minutes. I always go to Blo whenever I need my hair done for a fancy occasion. read more

Had a great experience with stylist Fab! Was a bit hesitant to go to this Blo, as the reviews have been underwhelming, but I'm a Blo fan in Vancouver so I gave it a shot. Got a warm welcome at reception, and Fab gave me a great "red carpet" blow out that lasted all night through a swanky dinner and dancing event. I am in town from NYC for the Toronto Film Festival. I never know what my schedule will be like, but it's always best if my hair looks great. This was the closest Blow Dry Bars to where I am staying, so I thought I would give it a try. Being able to schedule appointment online made things even easier for me and they were open on Sunday and had extra stylists and extended hours for the festival. My hair turned out fabulous and the price was very fair. I will be sure to recommend to friends and book appointments for myself each time I come to TIFF. I asked the manager why so many rough reviews when every customer and stylist I encountered seemed pleasant and happy. She explained that with a business where the average appointment is only 30 minutes and customers show up 10-20min late for their appointment, it's very easy for appointments to get jammed up. I visited this location for the first time this past weekend. I have had only one blowout done before, to great results, so I tried to have a reasonable expectation going in. I ended up being ~15 minutes late for appointment, however, I had let them know through my girlfriend who also was slotted in for the same time. The front desk scolded me a bit despite my apologies. She asked me to sit down, and then asked what style I wanted. I was a bit out of sorts and suggested curls since my hair is quite short. My stylist - I think his name was Dean - was nice. He asked me if I was fine with products. We didn't really discuss the curls, so they ended up being quite tight. The braid was done well, and he pinned it nicely in the back so that it added some drama. It was very busy when I went in, so it was quite loud and bustling. I think the seats were placed a bit too close together. You're basically on top of the person next to you, which doesn't lend well to relaxing. read more

I've had two awful experiences here. I left after being in the chair for almost TWO hours. My hair looks awful and the girl that did it seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. I asked for volume and big curls. She used almost a whole bottle of hairspray and mousse, and never actually curled my hair. It's over teased, frizzy and stiff. Now I'm late for the wedding and look awful. The staff seemed to be very rude to each other. I wanted to get my hair done for my graduation pictures. My hair looked great and the guy who did my hair was very speedy, so that was nice. However, by the time I got home (16 minutes) a half of the curls in my hair were gone and the back and most hair ends was a bit puffy and kinky. I was under the impression that a blow out would last for a whole day, if not longer. When I got home I hairsprayed (is this something the stylist is meant to do at the end?) my hair which maintained the sleekness I was left with. If the stylist had done more to ensure my hair would remain as he did it, I would definitely give 4 stars and return. But as it is, I'm just not too wowed but I will try a blow out elsewhere. Well I have to tell you, from one the most high maintence hair woman out there.... I LOVE BLO... From the personal attention I receive on the phone to book my appt ( I can call at any time and get into one of their three locations ) to the high level of perfection they exude when paying close attention to my high expectaions of the final creation of my style. The staff and owners are always so cheerful and make it their mission to make sure you are taken care of and happy with the outcome of your style. Weather you need a quick up DO for a last minute party or outing or have a special wedding or event they can style to please. I have recommed BLO to all my friends and family and have heard nothing but rave reviews!! I had to get 6 inches of hair cut off because of my blo bar experience. First and LAST time I will ever step foot into a Blo Bar - and girls, please take a read before risking your hair! I went to blo bar to get my hair done for New Year's Eve. I thought, "why not?!" a quick way to get a wash and style before heading out without a ridiculous price. I'd like to say "you get what you pay for" but I got far worse. To start, the staff that work there are clueless and the least helpful I have ever experience. They were barely able to give me directions to the location as I had never been in the path before, multiple entrances were blocked off and I was having difficulty accessing it. After my wash, my stylist asked me what I would like done to my hair. I told her my hair holds really easily and I'd like really loose wave with a lot of volume. She started drying my hair, yanking at it with a horrible brush and rushing it to get it dry. Then proceeded to curl my hair with a flat iron into tight ringlets. I tried to stop her, but she told me not to worry - she's not done and it'll all drop and loosen up. By the end, I had tight ringlets of curls in my hair like I looked like I was going to an 80's prom. She could tell that I was unhappy with it and decided to brush through my whole head and continued to yank at my hair. (it looked like i had frizzy curls and was partly electrocuted) They were sharing 1 bottle of hairspray throughout the whole salon, and other hairdressers were walking around speaking loudly, swearing and eating a large bag of chips around the salon, wiping their hands on their clothes and proceeding to do hair. Absolutely embarrassing. Not only did I have to pay for my service, but THEY FORCED ME TO TIP! How tacky! I had to go home and shower, redo my hair myself and realized that my hair was nice and crispy. I have very long hair, no bangs, spent the last year growing out my layers. My hair framing my face was burned off and all different lengths. Obviously a girl's worst nightmare. I tried to email the salon to express my concerns and let them know how badly my hair was burned (sent pictures and all). I got a very poorly email written back, not even proper grammar and sentences basically saying "oops, why don't you come back in for another blow out!" As if I'd ever like to return. I've had to cut my hair twice since new years to fix this burn. My hairdresser told me that it looks like they used a bad brush and a straightener that was too hot when my hair was still wet, causing the burn. I've had to get bangs and re-do layers. My cheap blowout has cost me over $300 in cuts and products to try and fix my hair - and I still have some crispy pieces and a ton of fly-aways. The best part is - the company couldn't care less. I guess they really do stand by their work. So ladies, if you'd like to take a risk at burning off your beautiful hair for a cheap, trashy and unprofessional salon - I'd fully recommend Blo Bar! I had seen the poor reviews and been to this one location a few months ago and had a good experience. I was happy that I seemed to luck out. So when I needed to get my hair done for my Bachelorette this weekend I came back to Blo Blow Dry Bar with my sister. We had -the worst- experience ever. Seems like last time I was the exception and this time I experienced the norm. My stylist: She washed my hair with so little pressure I don't think the shampoo lathered at all. Half the reason I get my hair done is for that great shampoo at the beginning of the experience and I was very underwhelmed. Next, she had a very sharp ring on while doing my hair and it kept catching and pulling out my hair. Literally I saw strands coming off of it when she went to reach for things. I made faces and even said "Ow" several times and she did not ask why I was in pain. Then when she was finished it looked ok until she pulled it all out while back combing and then used no hair spray when I left despite me asking several times for her to set it as my hair falls out rather quickly. She just kept saying "okay okay" and then did nothing. There were so many straight pieces. When we left my sister (who also had a bad experience - below) said why don't we go back in and ask them to fix it, but after seeing her hair I didn't trust they would know how and after reading reviews it doesn't seem that they would have been sympathetic after all. My sister had to re-do it ALL when we got home. NOT what I wanted to deal with before my Bachelorette. And certainly NOT what I paid for. My sister's stylist: My sister sat by her self for 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged that she was there. Finally the girl working reception was like "do you want me to do it?" and my sister was fine with that as we had a timeline. She washed her hair super quickly (again not what we're paying $55 for!!!!) and then started. My sister let her know that she was burning her scalp with the blow dryer and the girl just said "have you not been here before?" laughed and kept doing it..... what even is that? Do you regularly burn your customers? Then when she asked her not to brush them out as her hair does not hold a curl when she does that the girl didn't listen. My sister asked the whole time for a Holly Would style and walked out with ringlets. Not impressed. For a place that charges so much and then asks for 20% tip they should get people in that deserve that 20% tip. Not worth it at all. Needless to say I'll be switching to a new blow bar for my events. read more

Came here with a group of friends for updos. The hairstyle looked great and held up for the whole day, but the reason why I'm giving this such a low rating is because of their sneaky practice of automatically adding 20% tip without telling their customers! Because I wasn't told this, I added tip on top of that, and they didn't bother letting me know. I won't be coming here again because of this poor business practice. Also customer service was lacking overall. Stylists didn't smile or make us feel welcome. read more

I came here with a bachelorette party because we thought it would be a great time for us. There was 6 of us in total. 2 people had a stylist who I didn't get her name, but she had bright red hair and she was amazing from start to finish. The other 4 of us were split between 2 other stylists, one who looked like she was so unhappy to be there - didn't even put ANY volume in my friends hair, it looked like something she did herself and then slept on. In the end, 2 of our group had to get the amazing red-haired girl to FIX the other stylists crappy job. Would not go back due to clear lack of consistency. read more

The first try was so terrible they had themselves brushed it through and someone else did some simple rushed waves in 10 min, even though I had asked for a senior stylist multiple times at my booking. My hair fell flat within an hr and my hair looked terrible the whole night. Will not go back. read more

I am so picky about my hair and the 3 times I've been here - my hair has been perfect! The stylists I've had (both male) were exceptional and efficient. I would recommend this location over Yorkville. There they made me look like Shirley Temple. read more
