So first off, if you go here and you have a horrible experience, don't get your hopes up for a refund cause they won't give it back. At all. It was my first time ever at a blow dry salon and first time ever there. And trust me, I won't be going back. I wasn't going to review this place but the more I sit and think about it the more I'm upset. I have 22 inch hand tied extensions, 2 rows. If the stylist couldn't handle it then they should've told me then and there and I wouldn't have been upset. But first red flag was when there was no capes, the "cape" is a tiny towel around your neck. I'm a licensed stylist and I know for a fact that it's against TDLR regulations to not have a cape in a salon. Second red flag was when we went to the bowl to shampoo, and they washed my hair once with shampoo, and my hair was 8 days of not washing, and I know it's shampoo twice and conditioner once. Well, they didn't even "wash" my hair. I still have dirty hair on the bottom and between my extensions. Then the conditioner was what really got me. With extensions, you can't condition your whole entire head. It is the mid shaft- down on extensions and you can use the excess on the very top of your head, but never all of it. Well they did my whole head, and then rinsed 20% of it off. I have conditioner stuck and dried to the sides of my head and the back. Then we go sit down, and again, red flag when they don't stand behind you in front of the mirror. A true stylist knows to stand behind their client and face them at the mirror. Never away. Then instead of putting product on and then brushing, they just start brushing away. Didn't even part my bangs or anything. And if you have bangs, they are first. Never last. Then they put product on, didn't finish brushing my hair, and they section my hair and start blow drying. It was nerve wracking because extensions are EXPENSIVE. I COULD SMELL MY HAIR BURNING. an hour and a half later my hair isn't fully dry, there is conditioner stuck to my face and neck, and my hair looks horrible. Then I got to pay, and I knew they knew they messed up. I didn't get the chance to fully go into my hair because I had a drs appt I was about late for. So I called the salon, asked for the manager and explained what had happened and they want me to come back to redo it. I'm sorry, but if you were to leave that way, would you really want to come back? I highly doubt it. And apparently that is the only way to make it right. So if you feel like wasting money on a wash and blow drying that feels like someone who has no idea what they're doing, then yes that's the place for you. After picking up my son I had to rewash my hair, I just wanted to feel good about myself considering I have 3 kids and I'm a stay at home mom who's husband works out of town. So, this is my 100% honest review and I won't be going back. TO ADD: after reading the other reviews it sounds like the stylist who did mine has done theirs. The stylist told me they have been there since November. 5 months is a long time to be blow drying and it seems like you have no idea what you're doing still. I was also told people with extensions will be with "senior stylists" well then why doesn't it explain that on the website? Or block the extension option when only senior stylists are there? Also noticed how the owner has stopped responding to reviews. Money hungry cowards read more

I came to Lubbock for a special meeting & dinner. I made a reservation on line for hair & makeup. Arrived on time, they'd never heard of me or my appointments. Didn't offer to help, just gave me blank stares & said I could come back the next day... I called Sofisticuts down the street & they sweetly assigned me to Bella immediately & the day was saved & my hair looked great at a bargain price! read more

With COVID it's hard to find places to feel comfortable & safe, but Blo was very clean & followed all regulations! I've only been here twice but each time I've had an amazing experience, especially with my appointment today with Carly, i believe, was her name! She was so sweet & so professional. I felt so comfortable & she made sure I was satisfied with my blowout & style. I will for sure be coming back for any future events, she did a wonderful job! I grew up in Lubbock, but don't live there anymore. I was coming to town for my 30th High School Reunion, and who DOESN'T want to look their best for an occasion like that? So about a month before the event, I booked a blowout and makeup application with lashes at 4pm. (the event I went to started at 6.) Got there about 3:50, and *JAMES* helped me right away. I got my old makeup taken off, and then he scooped me back for my wash. I was walking in with a slight headache, but the wash and head massage was instantly a headache remedy...it was like he hugged my sore brain! Ahhh. I told James I didn't want straight hair (per my usual), I just wanted my long hair to have some curl and oomph. He got it right away. I literally kinda dozed in the chair while he worked his obviously skilled and talented hands on my hair. I never peeked--the mirror was behind me and I was faced out at the parking lot. The salon was busy (4:30 on a Saturday!) but it didn't seem frenzied--it was just salon talk and hairdryer sounds/ I actually felt so amazingly relaxed through the busy sounds. After hair, I stayed in the same chair (still facing the parking lot--leading up to the big reveal), and James brought all the makeup goods to me. I told him, just make me look good--medium coverage face with defined eyes that will pop in a picture. He did that and then some! My eyeshadows were browns and golds with a pop of turquoise that I asked for to go with my earrings. It sounds gaudy, but nope, it was GORGEOUS. He spun me around in the chair to see at 5:00...it was *so incredible!* I had actual cheekbones! Highlighting/contour, perfectly applied lashes (always get the lash extensions, girl, makes a huge difference). I loved, loved, loved my look. The other girls who work in the salon were also nice and complimentary. I literally left feeling 1000% better than when I walked in. The makeup and hair lasted all night and looked great in all the photos. In fact, I started to take off the makeup about 1 am-it lasted a good 8 hours! I was so sad to take it off! James--you are obviously a professional, hardworking, talented person. That salon is lucky to have you! Thank you for elevating me for my special event. If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. I had a terrible experience and I will never be going back. I had to completely redo my hair for formal because it was atrocious. I explained to the lady that I didn't like how the back looked and she asked me what was wrong with it. As if she couldn't look at it and tell what was obviously wrong with it. They offered me a free service because of my terrible experience and honestly I won't even take them up on the offer because i feel like they would ruin my hair. I really wanted to like this place, I gave it 4 tries. The problem is that a blow dry bar should specialize in BLOWING OUT hair. The stylists here wash and dry your hair haphazardly and then style with a curling iron or flat iron. This leads to flat hair at the crown and lots of frizz. A real blow dry with a round brush shouldn't need much styling afterwards. I'd recommend this place to a friend who doesn't know how to do her hair or is too lazy to care. On the plus side, the staff is always kind and the atmosphere is fun. read more

The staff was friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was super fun - I was given a mimosa as I walked in (yum!). I did the Blo out + deep conditioning treatment. I chose to do the big curls look, called the Holly Would. Unfortunately the curls immediately fell to straight. Pretty sure I walked out of the place without curls in my hair (that's how quick they fell). I let her put in as much product as she needed to make the curls stick, none of which worked. My hair DOES hold curls, I just don't think the girl knew what she was doing. I also got my makeup done. I asked for a natural look as I don't normally wear makeup, and I walked out with the thickest black eyeliner I've ever had and looked pretty bad. I had to do major damage control when I got home. The staff was very nice though, I'm sure if they realized how displeased I was they would have made efforts to fix it. Unfortunately, I just was not confident in either the makeup artist's or the hair stylist's abilities to fix it so I did not ask for them to correct it. Definitely a fun place but please be warned - the staff are not well experienced and gave me the worst hairstyle and make up I've ever paid for in my life. And I paid around $100 for all of this - WAY over priced. I will not be going back. I would recommend this place for a little girls birthday party as a fun experience, NOT for women looking for hair styles for a serious event. read more

I was highly recommend by one of my best friends to go there to get my hair done for my anniversary. We have the exact same hair texture so she sent me pictures and videos of what her hair looked like each time she went there. My visit was nothing as anticipated. My hair looked nothing like the pictures or videos she had sent me, more so as if I had just blow dried my hair at home. I was so disappointed in the service I received and had to go home to do my hair myself. It was such an inconvenience and I was also highly disappointed because I paid for a service that I didn't receive. I'm from out of state so I went here for my sister's wedding. The curls in my hair fell before I even left the store. My sister's photographer had to help me curl my hair later, since it looks AWFUL. I asked the stylist to use a curling iron for my curls but she used a straightener instead - I know my hair and know what does not work. My sister also wanted a clip in my hair and the stylist was incapable of putting that in too. Three people tried to put the clip in and they used about 10 Bobby pins. I went back to my sister's place and re-did the pin. I was able to keep it in all day with only two bobby pins. ‍ My hair looked discusting for the wedding pics and now my sister will forever have memories on how incapable this place is at doing hair. read more

Really love every time I get my hair done here! Problem is that when you have a specific time you need, the answer is always "there's only 2 of us and those appointments are booked". I've even been told sometimes the one girl is the only one working. I sort of understand you can't control walk-in traffic, but I would assume when someone calls in the day before for a specific time, that they could call someone in and make that happen. I was pretty nervous it was my very first experience in a professional salon environment! I loved everything from the Service to the Prices... The environment is so relaxing and professional in so many levels! It felt like a place where I could just sit back relax and not worry about a thing... Just kick back and get my hair taken care of! I recently went in for a blo out and full face makeup application for my baby shower and maternity pictures and I'm SO happy with how they turned out!
