The only thing I knew is that I didn't want it to look like it came off the rack of "any suit USA." After a few disappointing trips and consultations with other popular suit designers (who shall not be named), someone recommended we check out Grooms Grotto. My (now) wife and I cannot say enough about how amazing the process was with the Grooms Grotto team from start to finish. The task of building a unique look from scratch was definitely daunting because I wasn't sure how it would all come together, but I was able to choose every single aspect of my look down to the stitching and the buttons. The materials were high quality and the options were endless. A HUGE shoutout to Daiijah who helped us choose every single detail with intention! She made recommendations about what fabrics would work best together and be comfortable for our destination wedding in Cancun. She was very knowledgeable and helped us stay within a comfortable price point...and it didn't stop there. We also chose Grooms Grotto to create custom suits for our groomsmen. My guys couldn't stop raving about how amazing their first (for many of them) custom suit fitting was. Every aspect of the experience was dope - from the golf putting pad, ice cold beverages, and a bar and lounge area large enough for all of the crew to enjoy the day and just hang out while they all got measured. They also allowed me to bring in gifts for my guys and made it a cool memory for us all. The Corona location has such a welcoming environment and showed the fellas (and a couple of the wives) a wonderful fitting experience. As for the wedding day, my wife couldn't stop staring at me (she told me to write this part - lol), and the compliments kept coming for how CLEAN I was in all white on one of the best days of my life! It was beyond my expectations. I cannot say enough about the whole experience and I highly recommend choosing them for any of your custom suit needs. I'll definitely be back to step up my suit game. Bachir was very patient with me and made sure to address all my wants and concerns for what I was looking for and yet wasted no time finding the perfect fit for me. Whole process from in to out the door couldn't have taken more than thirty minutes, and that was with juggling with a second customer. You can see how talented and passionate he is about his craft. On top of that the pricing is very affordable. I paid for a full outfit (jacket, shirt, tie, handkerchief, pants, shoes) and tailoring for less than what I was prepared to pay for the suit alone. After I asked to try on different dresses, the owner said "that size won't fit you," or "that's a ball gown. you won't like it." What's the point of having appointments if you can't discover new things? I told her I had never tried that style, but she insisted on only having me try on gowns that SHE selected. $50 is really steep for a place that only lets you try on dresses FOR AN HOUR. I could have pictured myself walking down the aisle with one dress in particular, but I chose to take my business elsewhere. "We have another bride coming ," is what she told me when I asked to try something else on. No one ever came through the door. I had 10 mins left, but it's fine.
