I really wanted to like this store, but the experience I had (and many others) makes me sad. I love supporting small businesses, whether it be coffee shops, mom and pop auto repair etc. I walked into this store on a Saturday looking for air plants for my house. I saw their little air plant station but their inventory was lacking, so I walked to the counter and asked for some assistance. The blonde lady at the counter, Tracy informed me that those were the only air plants that were available, with the exception of the air plants that come with their hanging holder. She said if I found a plant in the holder I am more than welcome to 'swap it out' and she would replace it with another air plant. I found a cute air plant (harrissi) that would fit perfectly in a holder I already have at home. I went back to the counter to ask her how much it was, and she replied "Oh gosh! I don't know, I can't look it up in the system because its part of the air plant holder" OK then why did you tell me you could swap it out if you really can't? Now I have worked in retail and SOME but not all can find a way to sell without messing up the inventory. I let her know I wouldn't want to mess up her inventory if that was the case. She then said she would sell it to me and she didn't care if it set the inventory off. She said she didn't know how much to sell it for, that was her problem. So I stood there waiting for her decision and she pulls some random ass price and said "I'll sell it for 15 bucks" I was totally put off because all of the other air plants range from 6-10 bucks. She was trying to sell this one plant that was in a planter for $15 bucks, and if I were to buy the planter and the air plant together it would be $21. I guess my whole reason for writing this is she was well aware of how much her air plants run for, but she decided she wanted to upcharge at her convenience. By the way, I purchased the same air plant in Tustin for $6.99 and it came with a fertilizer spray. read more

As other yelpers have stated the customer service is horrible.My husband and I was out doing a little Christmas shopping we were the only customers in the store, the owner Traci made eye contact with both of us on two separate occasions and did not speak once. Her employe broke something Traci immediately got out of her sit walked in our direction to see if it was us which it was actually her employee.At this moment Traci nor her employee still had not bothered to greet us. Cursive will go out of business before I open my wallet. Word to the wise shop where you are welcomed Crursive is not it. Unless your of caucasian decent. I looked around and not only did she not have one on, but the owner and a woman she was having a meeting with also did not. I promptly put down what I was going to purchase and left. Cursive is this cute little curated shop that sells plants and artisan/small batch stuff like bath salts, candles, and honey. And other home goods. Super cute to walk around and see things you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. I have shopped there since they opened a few years ago and even ordered from them during the first lockdown, spending a small fortune on Mother's Day presents. Well, they have lost my business for good. I walked in today and out of 7-8 employees, only one was wearing a mask. The lack of regard for the community is disappointing. Hello, we are in the middle of a pandemic. I'm sure they will not suffer for this since this is Riverside County, after all. But you've lost one customer for good! Peace! read more

I have to agree with the few reviews about the middle aged, blonde lady and her negative energy. She BUMPED INTO ME... I said "pardon me"... and she kept on walking. Mmmmmkay? Meh I just brushed it off. Bc this lady looked like a ticking bomb... ready to explode. As I'm scouting through this cute, trendy plant store... a young worker asked if I needed help and was very friendly and helpful. Letting me know their plants shipment etc. Then I saw the same blonde lady instructing this young worker about her job duties. Guess she's her boss. So she excused herself and went to do as she was told by the older, blonde lady. This polite younger worker can teach her boss a few lesson on people skills. Stick that older, blonde lady back in inventory so doesn't have to show her sour face to the world. She can ruin your holiday by just her presence... so I would not come back even though they have cute stuff. I love supporting small business but poor customer service from management isn't worth supporting. You can FIND PLENTY of these cute places in OC/LA for a portion of the price. I love this cute shop! I've purchased many plants and decor from here that I adore and get compliments on all the time. I purchased a pot here that I later seen on Studio McGee, it was ten dollars less at cursive. Plus no shipping fee! The prices may be a little high on some items but worth it for how unique they are. Everyone I have dealt with is very kind and attentive. Tracy has never been unpleasant & during the pandemic lockdown she offered great customer service for curbside pickup. It was so convenient for Mother's Day! I miss the Anthropologie that used to be at Dos Lagos and now Nordstrom at Tyler Mall is gone; I hope this shop finds lots of support and is able to stick around for a long time! Got the cutest plants here today and the girls were so nice and helpful! They have the best selection of home items, and gifts. I only peeked in the baby section but it all look adorable. This is my go-to place for houseplants though. Their selection is beautifully curated and I always leave with 2-3. Owner is very friendly and helpful as well. DO NOT SHOP HERE!! We went in and purchased some items, walked around the corner and found something that suited us better, turned back and went in to return our purchases. The person at the counter stated that we could only have store credit because that's their policy. Mind you it'd been 10 minutes! I asked where their policy on purchases was posted, and they had no answer. BECAUSE IT IS NOT POSTED!! There is a disclaimer printed at the bottom of your printed receipt after you sign for your purchases on the electronic pad. It's not posted at the register, not on the electronic pad, no sign on the wall, etc. It's printed on the receipt when you've completed the transaction and it's too late to change your mind! This is the shadiest business practice and we will NEVER go back into this store. read more

Customer service is lacking. Overpriced items that serve no real use other than being decorative. The owner is not welcoming nor are her employees. Additionally this store has a poor return policy, which is no refunds period! They will give you store credit only so please BE AWARE that all purchases are final. I went in there recently.... I purchased a couple of Plants, Pots & Linen Lavender Spray that was magical! I've been reading some comment's of the poor customer service and I've had a great experience with this store. Especially the employee girl with dark hair was very helpful and answered all my questions. I will be going there this Saturday and buying some more goodies. If I could give this review this place 0 stars I would. From the moment I walked in I didn't feel welcomed. The employees don't greet you or ask if I need help or anything. They just kept looking at me with disgust. Also the employees can't even follow Health protocols. None of the employees were wearing mask. You should be wearing mask for the safety of your customers. I definitely agree with the negative energy that everyone talks about since I felt it myself.Walked into this store and was not greeted or acknowledged as a customer. To me that sets the tone for a nice visit, but ok no big deal. I continued to peruse items in the store . I found a cute board that customers had put their name on. It also had a cute little saying. I decided, hey why not put my name on there too. Well... one of the workers looked at me and said, "that is display only" with a look of disgust. Never have I felt like such an adolescent before. That could have been communicated nicer to me, seeing that I did not know. I used to buy plants here, but I think I will take my business elsewhere. And if the owner is as disgusting as people describe her, I do NOT want to support her business. What a shame...it's ok though because her reviews on yelp will already turn people away. BLUF: Half the shop is display only, even though they have price tags. You can't purchase the beautiful plants that lure you into the store, and are instead redirected to much smaller/less appealing plants when you go to pay at the register. Also, the price of their goods is highly inflated. All the baskets that were marked $13.99 on the shelf were $29.99 when I went to pay at the register. The manager said everyone liked the baskets and they became popular so they had to raise the price... I went to Cursive to buy my sister some plants and decorative items, and loved the aesthetics of the shop. I grabbed one of the many beautiful long philodendrons hanging in the shop, and a hanging basket that was marked $13.99 for my sister to hang in her room. When I went to pay for it they started ringing me up and the manager intervened and told me the philodendron I had was for display only and told me all the ones hanging in the shop were display only, and pointed me to some other ones that were way smaller. She also told me the basket that had a price tag of $13.99 was instead $29.99. When I showed her where the baskets were and how ALL of them had a "$13.99" price tag, she said they were mislabeled. Then went on to say they used to be that price, then everyone loved them and they became popular so they had to raise the price. The shop is beautiful, but very misleading. Prices are egregiously off, and half of the things in the shop that make it so attractive, are not actually for sale. read more

The entire team at Cursive has always been amazing!!! They are super quick to help with any questions I have on product and plants. If I describe a portion of my home I am working on decorating a vision is instantly given. If I need a gift Cursive is my go to for a fun unique gift and wrapping. Terrible customer service. My 13 year old daughter purchased a 30.00 tea cup for me for Mother's Day. The cup had a crack in it. I tried to return (or even exchange) but they refused to help me because my daughter did not know to keep the receipt. The cursive price tag was on it and they had a perfectly good one to replace it with. Did they do the right thing.....NO! They actually accused my daughter and I of damaging it when it clearly was in the manufacturing of the cup. I will be celebrating when this store goes out of business. read more

IF YOU HAVE KIDS STAY AWAY!!! A cool store but the management/owner is horrible toward kids. She flips and freaks out anytime your child touches something and when she is in the store, her staff follows suit to this behavior. But when the manager/owner is not in her staff is wonderful toward kids. This manager/owner just seems completely disgusted with kids anytime I'm there either with my own kids or by myself. I notice this same behavior toward any kids that comes into contact with her or her store. I have seen her and her employees get after other people's kids and try to intervene (granted the parent should step in/train their child to behave) but I don't think that's right. If you have kids or are a young family take your money elsewhere because this place is NOT family friendly. I am so sick and tired of this anti child society everywhere my wife and I go. We have well behaved children, but sometimes kids will be kids and all the ani kidders need to chill out and not freak out or throw dirty looks at you if a child is genuinely interesting in something. If you can't afford one item to break in your store and be worried that it might bankrupt you then you don't need to be in business to begin with. I am really surprised at the negative reviews on here. I usually don't write reviews, but seeing the negative ones I wanted to at least share my experience as it has been very positive. I've been in the store and purchased on many occasions. I speak with Tracy regularly when my husband and I go in there. I've had nothing but great experiences with her and her staff. She has been super helpful, spending her time giving us information and recommendations for our home and for a party we were having. She has gone out of her way to offer to purchase certain items or plants for us. My experiences to date have been really positive. read more

Sadly, some of these reviews are a bit ridiculous. Of course they don't want young children touching things that can BREAK because ultimately who would end up eating the cost...the shop owner. This is not a big box store like Target where things can easily be replaced. I brought my THREE young children oldest being 4 and they politely told me that some things are extra fragile and avoid pulling on them. Also the comment about not greeting customers who are not Caucasian?! I am of mixed race and I was greeted and checked on while I shopped just like everyone else in the store. The only reason why I gave 4 stars vs 5 is because the prices are a little inflated, but otherwise I love this shop. read more
