When we got engaged, we asked our married friends for advice, and one couple told us we HAD to meet with our DJ. We live on the mainland and the only time we were going to be home was 6 months before our wedding. We attended another wedding, where Bliss DJ's were also hired and did a great job! It was a nice preview for us. A meeting 6 months prior to the wedding sounds kind of crazy, but Kevo was very accommodating and understanding. Kevo was great! He was very responsive via text and email, he was prompt, listened to all of our requests and everyone had a great time! I had a brunch/lunch reception and I was worried that it would be lame, with no dancing, but he kept the party going as if it were 10pm! My husband and I are 10 years apart, and he did a great job of mixing in songs from both of our genre's (millennial music and 80s) as well as a bunch of top 40 songs that everyone loves. We also had a very strict "do not play" list and he abided by it. What impressed me most was that I had a very specific song and time for each event--grand entrance, cake cutting, first dance, father/daughter dance, etc. I don't know what is normal, but I gave him songs and specific start time instructions. There is so much going on during the reception, that the last thing you want to think is "is the DJ ready?" before any of the events. Honestly, Kevin (the DJ) and the music at our outdoor summer wedding was one of the highlights of the event. Kevin is the perfect DJ. He emails you a document to fill out prior to your event to fill out with your music preferences, song requests, and your "must play" songs. We had a range of music genre requests ranging from oldies, alternative, hip hop, to k-pop and he was able to mix them together perfectly with the smoothest transitions. It's been a year since our wedding and I forgot to write this review until now. Bliss DJs/Kevin/Kevo was such a great DJ and emcee for our wedding. He had us choose the music styles we wanted for the cocktail hour and for the reception, and so I asked him to play island music e.g. reggae-style remixes of popular music and other local favorites for cocktail hour and then we gave him a list of about 20 songs to play for our reception and he figured out our taste based on that and went with it and it worked out so well. All of my guests from the Mainland and from Oahu thought he did such a great job and my local relatives asked for his name to hire him for future events as well. He was also so accommodating with our pandemic rescheduling (twice!) and was very prompt with his responses. I had never thrown any kind of party big enough to need professional entertainment but, my now wife, put the our wedding reception in my hands. I had to make sure I didn't drop the ball, So I took to yelp seeing as we were planning a wedding on Oahu from California. I scrolled and scrolled thru all the DJ's in Hawaii and most of them seemed to only want to deal with large weddings (we only had 27 guests) or charge an arm and a leg, until I started conversing with Kevo. He uses these general outline forms for music you may want to be sure is played and what you'd like for all your key moments in your event. Coming from out of town, we made appointments with 10 of the top-rated DJs from Yelp. All of them were good but Kevin is so personable and experienced that he was the perfect choice. We had a small wedding of 60 at the Ko'olau ballroom and Kevin served as our DJ and our MC that day. I was very pleased with Kevin's performance. From the first phone conversation with Kevo, we knew we had found the right team. Kevo is your uncle you've always (or never) had. It was as if we had known him for years! We spoke with several DJs before and after Kevo, and could not stop thinking about just how comfortable, easy, and natural our conversation was. Kevo was kind enough to meet with my husband and me when we visited Hawaii a few months before our wedding. We asked him for advice and opinions, and he is a very open and honest guy. Throughout the planning process, Kevo was very quick to respond via email and text. His knowledge, decades of experience, and talent was invaluable to our wedding. He pays attention to your desires and he definitely executes! The week of the wedding, Kevo had another phone call with us to make sure we were all on the same page. I broke news of an important family member that was unexpectedly unable to come. Because Kevo is the natural family man that he is, we asked his advice on how to honor that family member. He gave us the confidence on how to present a toast to that family member. Kevo gave this suggestion, because he knew, from the few conversations he had with us, that my husband and I are very family-oriented and value relationships so much. On the day of the wedding, his sound system was so crisp and clear, that some people thought the ukelele song playing during the entrance was being played live! The music for our ceremony was all cued up correctly and he transitioned the songs flawlessly. Bliss DJs provided 2 separate sound systems---1 sound system for the ceremony AND 1 for the reception, so the transition between cocktail hour (near ceremony area) and reception was very efficient. DJ SirStyle and Kevo make an AMAZING team and I could not have asked for a better duo for the reception. The grand entrance was executed perfectly by them both. Kevo's emcee style is very smooth, relaxed, yet he commands just the right amount of attention. My husband and I really liked DJ Kevo! He was one of the reccommended vendors of our day of coordinator, Aloha Bridal Connections. We didn't look at a lot of professional DJ's besides him. My husband didn't think a DJ was necessary because most of his friends didn't dance. His pricing is probably about average, which still is a lot (weddings are expensive!) I decided he was worth the splurge and he was. A lot of people left by the dancing part, but he was integral part of our reception. He emceed and provided background music for cocktail hour and dinner. He was a great emcee, probably because he's just a really fun person! He had a fun idea to introduce our wedding party with funny intros. He also did a fun game where the wedding party had to guess which statement was more me or the groom. I wish we had done more games, one that all the guests could participate in. We ended the party early though, only about a quarter of the guests remained at 8:30pm, an hour and a half before we were supposed to end. Contributing factors were probably the fact that our friends are older and have families, most older family members left when the dancing starting at 8pm, and people didn't drink as much as our venue was on the side of a mountain and the drive was precarious. I suppose we could've stayed until the end, but the remaining people (besides our immediate family) were trying to leave at around 8:45pm, so I cued the last dance around 9pm. DJ Kevo was great about wrapping up early. We also probably should have had DJ Kevo make an announcement to take the leftover cranes before people started leaving at 8pm. And done a game for the centerpieces, which I don't think people realized they could take. I didn't tell DJ Kevo to do these things so that's on me. read more

We booked Kevo for our reception and after party. After our first sit down..we knew immediately that we hired the perfect guy. He gives great suggestions on what kind of music should be playing during certain points in the reception. There were songs that he picked that even our wedding guests positively commented on. Our goal was to stray away from the typical music you hear at weddings and he was able to accomplish that for us. During our after party, he played everything we asked for.
