We couldn't have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! From the very beginning, James was professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect. He took the time to understand our music preferences and the overall vibe we were going for. From our very first call, he was incredibly personable and we ended up talking for over an hour! By the end of that conversation, my husband and I knew without a doubt that James was the one we wanted as our wedding DJ. James has years of experience as a NYC DJ and has an impressive resume of events he has been a part of and it shows! On the big day, everything flowed seamlessly. We shared our music preferences with James, but also gave him the freedom to read the crowd and do his thing and he delivered. The transitions between songs were smooth, and he did an amazing job keeping the energy up. We had guests of all ages, and somehow everyone ended up on the dance floor at some point! He also handled announcements with confidence and clarity, which kept everything organized without feeling forced or overly scripted. Our first dance and all the special moments were timed perfectly, and we really appreciated his attention to detail. We've had so many guests tell us how much fun they had and how great the music was and we completely agree. Even my dad (in his 60s) is asking for the reception playlist because he loved it so much! If you're looking for a DJ who is professional, talented, and truly cares about making your event unforgettable, we highly recommend James. Thank you, James, for helping make our wedding reception so awesome!! read more

"Your DJ is incredible!" and "this is the best wedding DJ ive ever heard!" was what our guests were telling us all night! James simply exceeded all expectations...from our first call, the whole experience was highly personalized and we felt like James truly cared to make our playlist curated to exactly who we are and the experience we wanted to create for our guests. This was not your average wedding playlist, it was the perfect blend of songs we loved and songs James knew would get people energized and on the dance floor. Everyone of all ages were dancing ALL night. James created a professional set that included mashups of old school bangers, some crowd favorites, and some of our most loved songs that we felt like reflected us perfectly. There were even times James played songs I loved that I knew we hadn't provided as part of our list, it was like he crawled inside our brains and crafted the perfect selection of songs that reflect who we are. There was so much attention to detail. The lightning was incredible and created a fun party vibe. It's not even something I thought I'd notice or care about but it was SUCH a a vibe and the colors he picked fit in great with the decor. Music and the emcee you choose is INCREDIBLY important because it sets the whole tone of the party and keeps everything on track as far as timeline. James handled the emcee duties expertly and everything flowed perfectly. It was such a blast and we absolutely have James to thank for turning our wedding into the most epic party of our lives! read more

He had super straightforward instructions on how to submit our song choices and helped us with any questions along the way. On the day of the wedding, he exceeded all expectations--his song selections kept the dance floor packed, and guests couldn't stop complimenting the music. DJ James Vincent - DJs Near Me

DJ James Vincent was an absolute pleasure to work with for our wedding. From the moment we first spoke, he was a polite, attentive and enthusiastic listener who took the time to understand the specific vibe and energy we wanted for our special day. Despite being brought on as a referral less than 6 weeks before our wedding, you could tell he has been doing this for awhile as his experiences showed. My now wife and I are relatively reserved people, and lot of our close friends and family are also shy and take time to warm up. So we weren't sure if having a DJ and EMCEE was the right move. However, after speaking with him, we knew this was the right choice. As I have mentioned, his experience in this industry really shines. In conversation you can tell he is a happy guy and loves what he does, he wants to bring that joy when conversing with him. We are not the most musical people, so we weren't sure what songs we wanted for our entrance, first dance and so on, but James made sure to guide us without adding in his preference. He made sure the songs were our choices and not his. So he gave us examples of how he and his wife picked their songs and also how other couples in the past did as well. Just trying to give us examples without overstepping. Which we really appreciated. His pricing was incredibly reasonable and he gave us a great deal for both the DJ and EMCEE service, and he came fully equipped with all the necessary gear, requiring only a simple table setup. On the day of, his energetic presence as both the EMCEE and DJ kept the music going and the drinks flowing. We truly could not have asked for a better partner to help make our wedding day so memorable. We highly recommend DJ James Vincent to any couple looking for someone who is easy to work with and understands that this day is about your friends, family and most importantly you, the couple. read more

We had multiple calls and texts before the wedding and an organized sheet to fill so he could lead the day without pause. On the wedding day, DJ James Vincent's organization and planning was evident and he kept the energy going all night long! He played all of our requested songs and did an amazing job as the MC, ensuring our wedding party and guests were engaged and having a blast. Our wedding truly wouldn't have been the same without DJ James Vincent. He's got the skills and passion for what he does. He even called 24 hours before to confirm all the details and pronunciations, going above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. Everyone was dancing the ENTIRE night. We cannot recommend DJ James Vincent enough! read more

Man where do I start?! Needed a DJ after firing one, 1 week prior to wedding day july 2024. Hands down BEST DJ I've came across in my 29 years living. Mr. James Vincent really brought his A Game & knocked it out the park. My family is from the North Shore of Oahu, Kahana. They NEVER have experienced a DJ mash up of all genres of music. DJ James got taste, flavor, variety, culture and vibes. Most professional and responsible DJ hired to turn it up and shut it down. read more

Tried to make this review shorter but if I could give 6 stars I would! Planning a wedding during covid was to say the least stressful. When James reached out, he immediately wanted to set up a time to talk over the phone. It was important to him to make sure HE was the right fit for US. This was extremely different and I knew immediately he cared- about music. Everyone else cared about how quickly I could send a deposit. This was important to me. Music is important. When he called, I then saw a New York area code, and us being from Connecticut, at that moment I knew he was placed in our path for a reason. After talking for a while, we agreed to hire him and the rest is history. He followed us on Instagram and began to get to know us and dig our brains on our music taste. He helped me through my indecisiveness (I would stay up listening to song after song to find the a absolute perfect combination). He brought to life the soundtrack we had envisioned in our heads for our wedding day. He understood our vibe and made it come to life. Although we spent all of 4 hours together, I feel like I've known him my whole life. 10/10 recommend! read more

We got married mid-February in Kaneohe. DJ James was accommodating, very responsive and professional. He met with us a number of times to discuss timeline, details regarding the entire event, and music preferences. He kept the MCing portions to a minimum per our request and made appropriate and timely announcements. The lighting was nice and set the atmosphere. He did a great job and we had an amazing time dancing the night away. Everyone had a blast! I would definitely recommend him for your wedding or any other event. read more

If you're looking for a great local DJ to lean on for your event- you found him. James was enjoyable to work with from the very first consultation. He is responsive, personable, and compassionate. (The latter of which is most appreciated especially with covid and other wedding stresses.) It took a few delays before I was finally able to get married and our DJ was always a call away offering flexibility and support. My husband and I had a sincerely memorable wedding reception. DJ James was able to read the room and keep the moments flowing. Not a single moment was lost that night. James, Melvin and I are so glad you were a part of our most special day. I keep telling him I wish we could throw another party already! We only had one evening with everyone we loved... I just realized that as I typed it. I can't think of any phase of that night and not think about how much fun it was, how the music made us happy, and how you were patient and caring through every single minute. We appreciate you! read more

My wife and I selected James to be our DJ at our wedding in Kualoa Ranch Low Camp without meeting him. The process and guidance in music selection for various aspects of the wedding was flawless and executed exactly as planned at the wedding. James actually DJ'ed for us his birthday and made himself available for our special day. Not only did his music keep everyone dancing all night, he personally became another photographer + videographer for us and captured additional amazing moments which we will cherish forever. Probably won't get married again but highly recommend James for any event or venue. I'm keeping an eye out in case I have another special event which require his services. Cheers! read more

I would use Jimmy for every event I ever hosted if I could! We recently hired Jimmy for our wedding and all the other positive reviews here are not exaggerating how awesome he was to work with. He really takes your music taste to heart and creates playlists tailored to you and your event. Our group would have partied all night other than the noise curfew of our venue meaning we were forced to leave (trust me no one wanted to)! Jimmy didn't miss one thing from introducing the bridal party to first dance to getting the party started. I can't recommend him enough! If you're reading these reviews and don't book Jimmy, it better be because he's already booked! read more

My favorite DJ! I had the pleasure of seeing James Vincent perform in a nightclub about 12 years ago. Since then I've hired him to DJ my 40th birthday party, grad school graduation party, a number of in-store events in the Free People stores I've managed and more! Now that James Vincent has also relocated to Hawai'i I am happy to share feedback to the kama'aina who will be lucky enough to hire him! James can truly do it all! He's a tenured professional who knows the business & how to keep his guests happy. With an incredible knowledge of music and an all around great person, James will not disappoint! Although his resume is very impressive and he's done a number of high profile celebrity events he is not at all presumptuous. In fact, he's probably one of the most humble & down to earth people you'll ever meet. I truly can't say enough great things about him! read more

Like many other couples, my husband and I had to reschedule our wedding multiple times due to COVID-19. During a pocket of time that restrictions were going away in early July 2021, we finally got to have our big event with family and friends! Our wedding coordinator recommended DJ James Vincent for us and we couldn't be happier!!! Throughout our reception, we heard all the songs we loved and all the music played matched our vibe. James is approachable and would kindly ask if we had song requests. Definitely recommend DJ James Vincent for events!! read more

I hired James for my wedding after he DJ for a friends wedding. I initially hired him because at my friends wedding he was amazing with back to back amazing songs. After hiring him and working with him, I am so happy I went for it. James followed the list I sent him. He nailed it with every song, it felt like I was at my family parties. He also stepped in and helped set some stuff up when he was done setting up. He offered to get me some water and stuff. He was amazing. He also worked with our budget. Being from Hawaii, it's hard to have the wedding of your dreams without selling your soul. He understood this and it meant the world. Definitely would recommend and would hire him again read more

Dj James was the perfect DJ for our wedding. The initial DJ we booked flaked but luckily a friend referred DJ James to us. Working with DJ Vincent was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. He was so easy to work with and helped us out so much when it came down to picking specific songs for specific parts of the wedding that my husband and I never even thought about like the song for throwing the bouquet and the song for the cake cutting. DJ James Vincent was the best decision we made when it came to our wedding! At first I thought I was biased because it was my own wedding, but everyone that attended the wedding kept bringing up how amazing the music, entertainment, and speeches were from our DJ. DJ James provided an amazing soundtrack, set up, and lighting system. He was also very active being a great wedding host, and is comfortable speaking in front of others making announcements throughout the wedding to keep everything on schedule. No matter your style or taste in Music, DJ James provides the highest class of entertainment! read more

Jimmy was the DJ for my best friend's wedding in Honolulu and he was the BEST! Jimmy was awesome from the moment she booked him. He wanted to make sure their music taste was taken into account and the playlist was tailored to the couple. Everyone at the wedding was complimentary of the music and of him. He kept the dance floor going and we honestly would have partied until the early morning if the venue would have allowed. Jimmy was terrific and I highly recommend him for your event, you will not be sorry! When you organize any event and especially a wedding, one of the key topics is for the day and night to be memorable, for everyone. Our plan was for the reception to be a non-stop party, not a traditional follow steps 1,2,3 by any means...and a DJ a REAL DJ was at the top of the priority list. We searched far and wide, and after listening to some mixes that he shared and even checking him out at a local lounge one night without telling him we were going, Jimmy's energy won us over. We had high hopes and expectations and boy did he deliver and then some! To this day, over 8 years later guests still tell us we had one of the best weddings they have ever been to and still talk about how packed the dance floor was the entire time. DJ JVC as we would know him proved he has the skill set, experience, and vision to keep things moving; if even for a moment people started dropping the energy level, he knew how to switch up the mix and keep the party going. He makes it your wedding, not just the typical set of songs that has been played 1000 other times to collect a paycheck. Jimmy personalizes the playlist, switches things up, and reads the crowd on the fly if needed, he is truly in a class of his own. The way he just commanded the crowd with his understanding and appreciation of music was impressive to say the least, with all of the weddings we have attended (a bit bias as it was our own) I have never seen anything like it before! Jimmy has a great personality, he KNOWS his field and is a pure professional; being a DJ is his career, it's his life... not a side job like many DJ gigs are. If you want someone that is going to make your event one you will never forget, or have a wedding that won't be like all of the others, you want the best... then stop reading and just book this guy already! I recommend him so highly that if we ever host something large enough in the future, I'd be willing to fly him back to NJ! read more
