I had an absolutely terrible experience with Blinds To Go's at-home consultation service, and I would strongly caution anyone considering using them. From the very beginning, the sales rep overpromised everything--fast turnaround times, flawless installation, high-quality materials--you name it. It all sounded great in the moment, but none of it was actually delivered. Once the order was placed, it felt like they completely disappeared. Customer service is practically nonexistent. Calling for help is a waste of time--they don't answer the phone, and when you do manage to get through, you get no real answers or accountability. There's no follow-up, no communication, and no sense that they care about fixing issues. What's most frustrating is the complete lack of integrity. They'll tell you whatever you want to hear to make the sale, but once they have your money, you're on your own. The entire experience felt misleading and unprofessional from start to finish. I spent $4000 for customized draperies for the living room at the westbury store. After steaming and 14 days of being tied in ribbons (as suggested by my sales consultant) the curtains still bulge out in an unorganized manner and do not drape. We have curtains in other rooms of the house costs $200-300 that drape with a proper organized silhouette. I truly believe it's a manufacturing or fabric defect, as curtains of this nature should not appear so unsightly. I think the nature of the fabric is not meant to be made into draperies, they're too stiff. I spent thousands of dollars to enhance the looks of my home but rather everyone that sees the draperies asks if I bought these curtains from Amazon or old ones from someone's house. I truly regret installing these curtains as they make the room look worse. On another note, the seams were 10 inches away from ends of the draperies?!? Unprofessional craftsmanship! The reason why we customize draperies; so it would be cut, sewed to the sizes we need, not to have seams shown!! See attached pictures. Just awful. I spoke to one of the internal designers we used before, she said that my draperies look like defect of either the fabric or the factory. So I kindly asked the store for a refund! Tried to get in touch with the company but it is impossible to reach anyone. All the local store does is give you vein savers . Horrible I barely open the blinds for fear they will break. Overpriced, they offer a lifetime warranty, but there is a catch: you have to pay $90 every time a technician comes over to fix a problem. Additionally, it takes weeks to get the problem fixed. Overall we had a good experience. We brought in a pair of blinds and matched the new ones as closely as possible as we had extended the house and wanted to ensure consistency throughout. The blinds were very affordable and everyone was very nice. I knocked off a star because the estimated time to get the blinds was about 2-3 weeks then originally expected. Also the auto message told me to call one store to book my appt but then when I did, they told me to call another store because that was where the installer was coming from...it was very confusing and even the associate mentioned it's an internal problem with blinds to go. Bought 7 blinds for over $1,300. We wanted white to match with our white walls and frame. During the measuring, the sales lady (Annelise Sullivan) highly recommended an off white color as she said it would look better than a sterile white. She showed a sample that was very small, flat (which is NOT how honeycomb cutrains sit on the window in real life) and difficult to see. We decided to trust her expertise as a person with experience and as we had never purchased blinds before. Upon the instalation (which was delayed twice and took almost two months to arrive), we noticed that when the honeycomb curtains are scrunched, they have a yellow hue which makes them look old and like a smokrs house. We called to express our dissatisfaction but were told since we chose the color and this is custom made, there is nothing they can do. Apparently we could have asked for large samples, but we were NEVER informed this was an option. Instead of being helped, we were blamed for lying about Anneliese and told it was our fault and we should have chosen white if that is what we wanted. HORRIBLE CUTOMER SERVICE. We feel completely disrespected and cheated. We trusted a company that was supposed to give us a great personal solution for our house and insted here I am wishing I had ordered from Amazon which at least I know would have been willing to work with us on any exchanges or return necessary to ensure customer satisfaction. Evidently, Blinds To Go is too cheap to hire a dumpster, to take customer installations trash. It took me hours to cut the cardboard boxes into pieces, small enough to fit into our recyclable trash can, which is now almost full, and there is nothing else in it! All of the other debris, countless plastic bags and brown paper packing, will fill a plastic construction sized bag. Curtains were cut at the wrong length. My rods were hung at two different heights in the same room. I said they looked uneven and the installer ignored me. This was AFTER he already put the first rod up and then removed it to change the height. He did not use a tape measure or Come with the correct ladder to install one of my shades. My shade, a half moon, was also hung incorrectly. The pleats at the bottom were bunched together and it was pulling off the rod. ***Order number 277126*** Here we go again. Today was the second attempt to install our blinds and guess what; there will be a third attempt. The first time around all of our blinds had a horrible odor coming from them so we were forced to return them. In addition to the odor, the installer found that one of the blinds had the cord on the wrong side. The installer notified the store about the issue and they were supposed to make the necessary adjustments. Fast forward to today's install and sure enough, they ordered those same blinds wrong again. I ordered from blinds to go in 2018 so did not look for another store and went back again in Oct 2022 and had worst experience. measurements were taken by them as usual. had two measurements for the master bedroom and when we went to the store the measurement guy was also there luckily and the rep also confirmed with the installer as to which one we were ordering the drapery and shades. when things were delivered, we got the drapery and shades for the same window. so, we were left with no blinds for the 2 side windows. this happened in January. it's almost 3 months and frustration started after that. the shades we ordered was around 1000$ for the two windows and it got messed up. After repeated calls, two weeks later BTG said, they will bear only 50% as it's not their mistake. they did not take the responsibility of their mistakes. their product is good but due to some of the agent's carelessness, it impacts the customer. I had to order a cheap one for the other two windows from them and installed by myself. Order #043409. Ordered custom shades from the Bayshore NY store. Not cheap. After 3 weeks I picked them up put them in and they were 15! Inches short. That's not a typo...15inches. Called to complain, unapologetic they told me to bring them back so they could fix them. This guy was rude. I bring back and am told 3 business day turnaround on redo's. 5 days later I called and was told they don't know where they are they'd call me right back. 7 hours later no call, so I called and was told matter of factly they're in Canada maybe another week. Too bad buddy deal with it. That's my experience so far. BTW, left a negative feedback to corporate, they also could care less. read more
