First of all, I would like to state that their inventory is mediocre. Second, I am furious due to the lack of communication and professionalism of the company's sales associates and installers. "Custom blinds and shades, made exactly to specifications, are ready in as fast as 48 hours, versus the current industry standard of 4-6 weeks", more like 3 weeks...... Plus, the installer did not show up for his appointment and did not call to notify me that he was unable to fulfill his obligations. Pete, the installer, was friendly and efficient, installing everything flawlessly within minutes. I went to the store on 4th Avenue in Brooklyn to have my blinds repairs and to shop for new window treatments for another room. Ken, the salesperson (Ken) was quite informative in helping me explore several options. I left my blinds for repair. In a few short days, they were ready for pick up. I got them home and installed them. Initially, they seemed fine but when I tried to open the blind, the right side came a loose. I called to ask for a courtesy visit for someone to check and repair the blinds. To my delight, Kwame (store manager) sent Ken. As it turned out the bracket was damage. Ken replaced the brackets and the blinds are good to go. I can't say enough about how much I appreciate how this was handled. They didn't have to as this is not their customary practice but they did. I had a poor experience, both with respect this store and the company in general. The only thing that went right was the order, but once they had my money, I was left for dead with shades that were broken, defective and at times just forgotten about. I lost count of how many times I had to go back to the store just to try to get what I ordered. My shades arrived broken - not "a little problem" - but a major alignment issue that even the store rep (Jesse Gomez) said "woah" when looking at. And not just one of the shades was broken - but BOTH that I had ordered. Had this been my only issue, understood. But Jesse sent them off to be repaired. I was told the repair would take 4 business days, but I was forgotten and only received them after numerous phone calls (they don't return calls in a timely fashion, if at all, by the way) and 2 weeks later they arrive. I bring them home and, surprise, surprise, they look exactly the same as when I brought them in for repair. Not a single difference. Apparently, the repair folks did absolutely nothing to fix them (and I'll partly blame Jesse for likely not explaining the actual problem to them). So, there you go...I now have to drag myself back to the store for the 4th or 5th time. Jesse says "well, that's not good"...and then tells me he can try to fix it with superglue. No offense, but I did not pay $500+ for shades to have them held together with superglue. I agree to give them one last chance and tell the store to look at the shades to make sure they are 100% good before sending them out to me after repair. I get a box about a week later...here are my shades...the original issue is fixed...and the metal that connects the shades to their mount is TRASHED - completely and utterly bent, scratched and dented. Really? It won't even connect to the mount it is so bent. How they did not see this when repairing, or how Jesse did not see this before sending to me, is amazing. The manager tried to blame the shipping company, but the box was in pristine condition and I don't think FedEx can bend and scrape solid metal frames through an unbroken box. So, here i am with the shades for the third time and absolutely unable to use them. Will I get a refund? Apparently not, because nobody at the store will return a call or email. They go radio silent. The corporate 800 number tells me everything has to run through the store. Weeks go by, more messages left, not a peep. I'm done with the store, I file a lawsuit, have them served and ... suddenly ... a miracle, they get back to me, finally, but without uttering an apolgy for all of the headaches I had to go through. Long story short, there is nothing good about this store or company. The sales people and store manager are incompetent. The manufacturing folks don't check what they make. And the repair folks don't bother repairing anything (unless they also destroy another part of it). The major big box hardware store not to far away will make custom shades for you, slightly cheaper, and without any headaches. read more

Heaven forbid you need a refund on a deposit. Without telling you they charge you an additional $15 bc you live in Bklyn rather than Queens. I thought these were in the same city. They also fail to tell you that when they have a sale on blinds it doesn't include the veins. They're not upfront about stating it must be the 'entire' unit. It seems the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing when they take orders or submit quotes. read more

The only reason why I'm giving them a three and not of two is because of the great customer service of the employee Arthur who works there. Francisco who came to my home to install my blinds was like a hurricane, every window blind he installed he left screws all over my new hardwood floor and instructions and bubble wrap all over my floor. I had to follow him from window to window and picked up all the screws and mess from the floor that he took out of the blind box. Even when he crossed from one of my bedroom to the other I found screws on the floor in my hallway (no windows around). Not a care in the world. He also had on his protective blue plastic boot covers that protects the installer from boot to floor contact, Francisco walked outside with the same blue plastic boot covers in the wet ground from the previous rain fall and walked right back in my home with the same wet plastic boot covers. Francisco should be straight up fired. read more

Blinds to Go in Brooklyn is somewhat amateurish, but not bad for standard items such as vinyl vertical blinds. The prices are good and quality appears OK. But installation -- that is another story! Several times over the past several weeks I've spent the day waiting for the installer only find he didn't have time to make the appointed installation. Now, more than 2 weeks since the blinds were ready I still don't have them. And,on Blinds to Go you cannot post a negative review -- it simply will not allow you the ability to post if you do not check the box to recommend Blinds to Go to a friend. Advice: do not pay in full until the blinds are installed or you will be at the mercy of the installer's schedule. read more

I ignored the terrible reviews of the 4th Ave branch of this business because my neighbor was satisfied with blinds he bought there and I just wanted to make getting new blinds easy. Big mistake. Don't go there. First, Blinds To Go products are not cheap (we're talking many hundreds of dollars for three blinds). Second, this company has no idea of the concept of customer service. The answer to every question is always no. Any and every request is against store policy, from providing a fabric sample to getting to see one's blinds at pick up. The manager is conveniently never available when there is an issue and when I did finally speak to her she was rude and defensive. The problem probably emanates from corporate headquarters, but it would be nice if the manager didn't act like she was doing you a favor by selling you very expensive blinds. Mine have yet to be installed and though they look nice enough, I can't really comment on the quality of the product, but it doesn't bode well from the customer service experience. It's hard to believe that a business whose ethos seems to be "the customer is always wrong" can actually be profitable. I wish I had bought my blinds elsewhere. read more
