I'm updated my review from 1 star to 3 starts. Despite the challenges of dealing with customer service, once I started communicating directly with the Brooklyn store things were much smoother. The installer replaced the damaged blinds and now all the blinds are working again. More importantly, he determined that the cause of the malfunction was that the blinds weren't set to "locked". He locked all the blinds in my unit and hopefully this will prevent the issue from recurring. read more

Wrong order, wrong installation, the costumer service made us picking up electrical wires from the warehouse which were not needed as they were delivered with the shades. Updating my review, again... After initially reaching out to Blinds to Go in May, we are now entering July, and still do not have our problem resolved (please see my initial reviews). With no initial response to calls, I sadly had to revert to online reviews, again and again. We were told by Jasmine Pippi, a month ago, the corrected plantation shades were in production. Then, two weeks ago, again after trying to reach out to her, the story was changed, and she said our order was delayed because of color?!. We never wanted to change anything, so I feel this is a run around, or they must be annoyed that they were called out on their error and are trying to delay this. Not a good look. For someone who was so aggressive in closing the sale (incorrectly), it is funny how she can't return calls or text messages. We also reached out to Iva Johnson, who seemed a bit annoyed weeks ago when I called, by answering 'Yes, Debbie' (I guess they have caller ID). We have been waiting patiently and trying once a week for an update but I have to say, it seems after they take your payment, they really do not care. The company sure has changed for the absolute worst. I feel like they cannot admit their error and do not care. They do not realize, that fixing their error is all it takes and they wouldn't receive so many bad reviews. Not worth it when you have Budget Blinds, or any of the Big Box Stores that can do the same thing and will stand by their products and workmanship. read more

The initial part was fine. They walked me through the process and were quick to get my windows measured. Post installation is a disaster. Five hour windows for a service call. When the blinds were installed, the serviceman walked me through how to set them and told me there's a video of I need a refresher. A few days after he set them for me, they were already out of whack and needed to be adjusted because they were centered. I called for service and the times are very early - 2 pm is the latest appointment, which is very early - even cable companies have stepped up their game. As it is, I won't be able to get a service until the end of the month. Frustrating. read more

Brenda took the time to explain all of my options, showed me different colors, designs, etc. and provided me an estimate. Note that they outsource installation to local vendors, so you're subject to their availability and professionalism. She walked me through how the process works & assisted me w/ selecting the type of shade that was a best for me. He was very efficient (and extremely accurate) during the measuring & installation process. It's been a bit of a disappointment for us. Sales reps are great. Friendly and quick. The actual product is where the problem is. After the second day the valance on all three blinds detached causing tape (I assumed should've been removed in the factory and adhesive added) to get caught in the blinds (see photo). We called to let them know, and they were quick to come and grab the blinds to fix or replace them. Not too sure they were totally replaced or not since they are custom. We get the new set installed and I woke in the morning to see that the blinds were made with a different fabric on the middle panel. I don't have the energy to call and complain again, so I guess I'm venting here about it. read more

Cheap blinds and horrible customer service. Blinds broke twice within a year. Even though the repair is covered by the warranty, the company charges you $160 ($80 each way) to have someone come out to retrieve the blinds and bring them back to you. And the first time they "fixed" the blinds, the blinds were still broken and had to be taken back to the store. Terry, the manager, was entirely ineffectual and rude. I asked him to give me a call back...and I'm still waiting for that call 4 weeks later. read more

The quality of Blinds to Go is great! The service is excellent. Yvette was truly exceptional, she answered all our questions, patient, knowledgeable and friendly. The process takes a couple of months but it's all worth it. We finally installed the Wood Lite blinds yesterday on the first floor and it made a world of a difference. The home feels more homey and the blinds look great! Very happy with the product and service. Also the installer Joe is awesome! He is patient, respectful, and knowledgeable as well. Very unhappy with my experience at this Blinds to Go (4th Ave in Brooklyn): - Took a week to get the measurements done, which they insisted I needed, despite knowing how to measure windows. - The company that did the measurements did not submit the measurements to Blinds to Go at all. - I called them 2x a day for 5 days in a row and NO ONE answered the phone, nor do they have a VOICEMAIL BOX. WHAT???? This is 2018!!!!!! - The manager was EXTREMELY rude when I was trying to discuss this with her. She talked over me consistently and refused to take responsibility for the error, instead trying to push the blame on their outsourced measurement company, despite me telling her that it is THEIR liability as the company I am doing business with. - The blind measurements did not take molding at the bottom of my sliding door into account, so now there is less than 1/8th of an inch of clearance and the blinds repeatedly get stuck at about 95% closed, and have to be manually guided into place. - The manager offered me $100 off my order, but neglected to mention that she was scamming me by using a coupon for $100 off $1000 or more, so when I went to apply my coupon when paying for the remaining balance due on my order (I was instructed to use the coupon when I finalized the payment on my order), I was told I could not use my coupon, and had to jump through some hoops to get it applied. On one plus, Roberta was a pleasure to work with, had great suggestions about various different types of blinds, and spent a good amount of time walking us through the benefits and downsides of different types of window treatments so we could get exactly the blinds that we were looking for. All in all I would not use this company ever again, and would recommend that anyone else find another company to work with. read more

Let me start by saying that we had a really good interaction with everybody at this store location. Connor, the design consultant who worked with us, was extremely knowledgeable, efficient, friendly and never tried to push one product vs. another: he understood exactly what we wanted, and advised us accordingly. we really liked working with Connor. We got cordless blinds, of the top-down/bottom up opening type. That is, you can lower your shade from the top-down or raise it from the bottom up. We got blackout blinds for the bedroom, and a seasalt shade for the living room. The blinds themselves are great: the blackout blinds really are blackout, and we love how easy they are to pull down or up, and the flexibility of choosing whether to shade the entire window, the top part only, or the bottom part only. The issues we had were with the measurement and installation company Blinds-to-go uses: Sunnyside Window Treatments. First off, I strongly recommend you pay to have the measurements taken by Blinds-to-go, as this will protect you if a mistake is made during measurements. Which is exactly what happened in our case. A representative from Sunnyside Window Treatments came to take the measurements. A few days later, we got a phone call from Connor: by looking at the measurements he had the impression that they wrote down the measurements for the living room instead of those for the bedroom, and vice versa. By checking the measurements Connor had, we confirmed with him that indeed they swapped the measurements for the two rooms. Connor then proceeded to inform Sunnyside Window Treatments about the mistake. Imagine therefore our surprise when a few days later, Sunnyside Window Treatments show up for the installation with the wrong blinds. Yes: Sunnyside Window Treatments confused their own measurements for one room with those for the other. Yes: Connor from Blinds-to-go spotted the potential mistake ahead of time, alerted Sunnyside Window Treatments about it. No: Sunnyside Window Treatments did not follow Connor's advice and instead ignored it and went ahead with the wrong measurements that resulted in wrong blinds. Luckily we paid to get the measurements taken, so we didn't have to pay to get the blinds remade, but imagine if we took the measurements ourselves, and then Sunnyside Window Treatments got them confused, as they did: we should have been responsible to pay for new blinds. The Sunnyside Window Treatments rep suggested to drill the installation holes anyway, so that when he came back with the correct blinds the holes would be ready. Fair enough, so we said "Go ahead". The rep also took new measurements; correct ones this time. At that point Connor told us he would send an expedite oder for the new blinds, which should take a couple of days. After not hearing anything for 5 days, we called Connor. He told us that the expedite order didn't go through because they were still trying to figure out who was responsible for the mistake: Blinds-to-go was saying it was Sunnyside Window Treatments fault; Sunnyside Window Treatments was saying it was Blinds-to-go fault. I understand that, but as a client I should not be caught in the middle of an internal dispute regarding who is to blame for the measurements mishap. Particularly as we paid in full at time of ordering, before installation. In any case, the new order is placed, and the correct blinds finally arrive. The same person from Sunnyside Window Treatments comes for the installation, and realizes that the holes he drilled the previous time are actually wrong, so he has to drill new holes. Yes: he got the measurements wrong even for the holes he himself drilled. From an aesthetics point of view this doesn't matter, as the wrong holes are covered by the blind, but WTF...!? In summary: we love our blinds, and we were very happy with Connor at Blinds-to-go and everybody we interacted with there, but I would not recommend this place as long as they rely on Sunnyside Window Treatments for measurements and installation. read more

Yvette says that my order won't be ready until 01/07/2022. I inquired on the discrepancy. She said it had to do with the warehouse. Now, I am aware of warehouse and inventory concerns in light of the economy and covid. I, constantly, asked in our first conversation, "Hey, I am sure the order might take sometime due to national shipping issues or local staffing issues". A complete waste of time. I was the only one in the store and it took quite a while for anyone to offer to assist me. Once the woman finally asked if she could help, as I started to explain what I was looking for, she started to talk over me to tell me what I should get before I even finished telling her. The general vibe from her was rude and dismissive. And the prices are WAY too high for the questionable quality blinds that I saw on display. Their blinds simply just don't work. I've had to bring in two for repairs after owning them for less than 3 months. Woke up this morning and now a 3rd blind has just randomly decided to stop working so I'll be bringing in that one for repairs too. Installation service was a disappointment. They arrived 5 hours late. I was told they would arrive between 9 and 12 in the morning. At 12 I called and was told the installer would arrive in 15 minutes. The installer called and said it would be closer to 2 pm. It was close to 5 when he finally arrived. Too bad. I, recently, visited Blinds to Go, 11/27, to order a track system for my living room blinds. I have to say that the customer experience was less then friendly. As I interacted with the staff,the tone was very argumentative. For example, Walter, an installer that I later learned works with Blinds to Go, came on 11/27, to assess my windows. He said I needed a new track system. Later that day, I visited the Blinds to Go store located on 340 4th Avenue in Brooklyn. Now, my experience with Blinds to Go in the past was great. More so because of the Customer Experience. When I needed blinds or related repairs, it was a given where I should go. Now, I would consider other retailers of blinds. Whenever I go to a store, I expect fair prices and a supportive customer experience. I did not have this customer experience at my most recent visit. Every question I asked or concern raised was met with resistance or some argumentative tone. For example, I requested a receipt for my payment to installer. Yvette my salesperson seemed almost agitated by my request. I asked questions about my installation concerns and I was told if the installer makes a mistake, he is responsible. I am glad there is accountability but the question was more about the details of the installation and the answers given to me was very abrupt and abrasive. Yvette, eventually brings David to the conversation and I am told he will have a receipt for me by the upcoming Monday, 11/29. As I am leaving the store, to my surprise, David presents to me a blank paper from those small paper receipt machines, stamps the Blinds to Go logo on the paper, hand writes the cost of install and says here is the receipt. Whoa !!! I look at it and say there is no date. David proceeds to date the what I call the scrap piece of paper. Then, I am handed what appears to me to be a scrap paper in lieu of an official receipt. I was insulted. Then Yvette demands that I walk over to her side of the station and instructs me on how to use the debit machine. A device I have used countless times. I have never had any store treat me this way. I will update this review when my installation is completed but after any further needs regarding blinds, I will consider elsewhere. read more

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. They outsource the installations to Sunny Side Blinds, the crappiest company I've recently had to deal with. They don't answer phones. They get things wrong, they don't complete work in a timely manner and they have zero customer service. Literally zero. When the guy came to measure, I also showed him a broken blind that needed fixing (some parts and labor), said it's urgent because this has fallen several times and we have a toddler who is still young enough to do dumb things and a window that needed blinds. Great, measurements taken, job accepted, quote unchanged. After weeks and weeks of chasing, finally, someone comes to install my new blinds and fix broken ones- except, he forgets a part for the broken blinds (only brings one of the two pieces he needs). He says he will be back, but he never comes back and never returns my calls. Why would he? He's been paid. Who cares about my toddler. The job was not completed. I called enough times and then just gave up. I regret using these guys. Blinds to Go is just a showroom, once they sell you their wares, they are done caring. And avoid Sunny Side Blinds like the plague. They are rude and do not complete the work they are hired to do. read more

I walked out 30 minutes later having placed my order, and two weeks after that my awesome blinds are installed. Very bad experience with purchase of blinds/shades at Blinds To GO at Old country road, Carle Place for my new house, spent several thousand dollars. They made mistakes with the order and the quality of material was cheap compare to what is on display at showroom, make sure you get a sample of what you are ordering for comparison later. Within few weeks of use 3 of blinds have broken wand/cords and good luck getting them repaired by Blinds To Go. Total waste of time and money. read more

This is the absolutely worst company I've ever done business with. I used their shop at home service and it was a disaster from beginning to the end which still hasn't come. Every appointment was broken from the shop at home consultant to the installer. My ordeal started on July 15th and as of August 23rd we still are not finished. Phone calls are not returned and promises are not kept. Once they get your money, it's like you no longer exist. You pay a considerable amount of money for installation, which are subcontractors, and as far as they are concerned, you are not their customer. I will never ever use them again. If this is how the purchase goes, I hope that I will never have to use their " lifetime guarantee"!! Do yourself a favor, spend your money elsewhere. read more

I had one of their blinds (noted in my previous review) which needed a repair. I brought it in on a Thursday morning, explained and showed the problem and was well treated and attended to by Roberta. To my complete surprise on Sunday morning I received a call that the blind was repaired. I went to pick it up and it was ready and one of the men in the store took the time to open the package and review it with me. He then cordially re wrapped the blind, secured it in a box and taped the box closed for me. I don't know about all these negative reviews ....
