I was a little disappointed in the time it took for four movers in comparison to a three mover crew. I paid for eight hours for a four man crew and eights hours the last time for a three men crew. One of my crew members was 45 minutes late. Apparently there was a last minute call in and they had to find a replacement. When we went to the new address, two of the movers took a personal vehicle and they arrived 40 minutes after the truck arrived giving me only two movers until the others arrived. I felt we could have cut two hours from our expense had the crew been together the entire time. Nonetheless, the movers were efficient and careful with my furniture. This is a female operated and owned business. Christy is awesome and I know the matter mentioned is not this company's norm. I will definitely give them another opportunity to earn that extra star.

I chose Firehouse Movers because of their glowing Google reviews, and their initial estimate was very competitive. Unfortunately, the final bill was a complete shock. To begin with, they insisted on a virtual estimate and refused to come out in person and assess the job. This was a 5000 sq ft home full of furniture, and I wanted the most accurate estimate possible. I asked multiple times for an in-person estimate, but my requests were declined. By moving day, I had sold two-bedroom sets and several other large pieces of furniture that were included in the original estimate. Even with significantly fewer items to move, the final price was more than double the original estimate. On the day of the move, I somehow went from needing two trucks, as stated in the estimate, to four. And from 9 to 17 total man hours. At the end of a long day, my husband just wanted them gone, so he reluctantly paid the bill before they could log anymore hours. When I called to discuss the bill, Firehouse claimed I had verbally approved the additional associated costs over the phone, citing a recording, which was completely false. I have asked multiple times for this recording, but I have not received it. That was not a small miscalculation. Our move was grossly underestimated. This whole experience felt misleading and dishonest. Stay away.

Due to financial constraints, I decided to store my things locally for now while I relocated. I'm someone who's huge on reviews (non-incentivized) and personal experiences people have with a company or product, so Einstein caught my eye. From the first conversation with the representative when I called, I knew I was in good hands. The conversation was calm, every step was explained, emails and communication was fluid thru moving day. The truck was much bigger than I was expecting as well as the ramp placement at the side of the truck vs the rear which made me nervous, but luckily we were able to make it work in my apartment complex. Sully and Kenan were friendly and understanding overall. Asked questions along the way as needed, and took some of the stress away from what typically comes with a moving day (especially when it comes to this being my first time moving things into a storage unit). I do have to note that the move may have finished sooner had one movers not been out of commission by his lunch choice longer than expected... Also, seeing the feet of my couch during the move has me a bit nervous about how they'll look when I remove my furniture from the unit. From a few feet away when I saw them on the cargo elevator and being placed into the unit, they seemed like they were angled and scratched a bit from positioning during transport. The email after my move stated that I can inform them if I notice any damages, whenever it may be, so I'll have to do a thorough check when I next access or move-out of the unit. Other than that, I would for sure use them again, possibly even for when it's time for that move-out. One of the movers later stated that he had noticed damage to the TV box when he unloaded the tv from POD but did not bring it to my attention at the time, which was very disappointing. However, the owner Joey, took the situation seriously and handled it with genuine empathy and accountability. I was extremely frustrated from the move (it's really a lot to handle) and Joey was kind and patient as he listed to me explain what happened. He suspended the team member involved, made it clear that he wanted to put the customer first, and worked with me to make things right. After I provided the original receipt for my TV, he sent me a check for its full original purchase price and did not waste time to go through insurance. I didn't buy additional insurance, so at most if Joey had went through insurance, I would have received $40/$50 back for my tv at $0.60/lb. He said he wanted to make sure we reached an agreement that felt fair. I truly appreciate Joey's customer first mindset. Although the damage was frustrating, I greatly appreciated how Joey responded. He's been in business for 25 years and stated that accidents happen and what he cares for the most is customer satisfaction. His integrity, compassion, and willingness to stand behind his company ultimately left me with a positive impression. At the apartment we were told they missed their exit on the tollway and that's why they took so long. That must've been when they had to drop off the third guy because of a family emergency. Which later they said they knew he wasn't going to be with them the whole time. Finally the 2 guys unloaded the furniture onto the parking area then into the apartment. We were charged for 6 hours to move to a 1st floor apartment a bedroom set, a China cabinet, one living room area and washer and dryer. Plus a 2 door cabinet, 5 Christmas boxes and 2 plastic shelves to a garage 2 buildings away less than 30 seconds. Pictures were taken of furniture that were damaged during the move. We went told that on Monday someone would call to set up a time to fix the damages. Monday I text and sent pictures to Tom of the china cabinet where the magnets were broken which keep the doors closed. Didn't hear anything for week. We texted again ask for a response and were told again someone would call. It's now 23 days later and no response. So no recommendation here, they give you a quote and show up with extra people and the quote goes up. They take extra steps in moving which adds up more time and don't respond to fixing what the mover damaged.
