    Cookie Monster boba
    Eric M.

This place is nothing but sweet which I don't mind at all. The family and I came here and ordered the Cookie Monster, unicorn drink and an iced vanilla coffee with boba. The drinks were good and very sweet. They have a lot of signature drinks or you can go with something simple and add boba to it. The place itself is a small boba shop located right next to the theater in westgate. It's kept cleaned and organized well by the staff. You can tell the workers enjoyed working here. Will come back soon .

I swear, this has to be the cutest boba shop I ever walked into! Service was fast. Ambiance was aesthetically pleasing to look at, many different photo ops. I got the taro milk tea with boba, the prefect refresh to drink on a nice warm day.

Not worth buying boba drinks in this place. I ordered the Matcha Matcha signature drink and the ice inside my drink was not blended well. I had to crushed it with my teeth. My boba drink looked sad with a glob of ice cream as a topping :( :( (double sad face).

I love BOBA cute little place! Fun tasty drink options! Pricy but to be expected. Service was good. Will be back!

    Way way to much Tajin.

I grabbed a Mango Nada to go, but oh boy, I wasn't ready for the fiesta that followed! As I took a sip, it felt like a spicy surprise party in my mouth--turns out someone liberally spiked it with Tajin! It was like drinking mango salsa, but without the chips to balance it out. Note to self: next time, ask for extra fruit, hold the spice! Wait!! I won't be going back.

We decided to stop in here and grab something cool to drink while waiting to be seated at hot and juicy. I'll say we probably won't ever come here again. Way overpriced and staff seemed annoyed to have to assist in any way. The only reason I left 2 stars is because our smoothies weren't too bad. Nearly $18 for one medium smoothie and one large with flavors.

This place is NOT it! Parking to get here is a bit confusing if this is the first time coming. It was really hot and very small. For the location it was in, it was very packed. And only one employee doing the drinks & taking orders. I ordered Rosy Cheeks drinks. We were asked if we wanted boba or Jelly. We asked for Boba. The boba they have is popping boba. I'm not fond of it. We weren't told that and it was a huge shock. Along with the Tart flavor. I wasn't fond of this space. The service was okay. I got my drink within 10 minutes of ordering. Although my straw was out of a wrapper and dirty. In this pandemic? Hard pass.

I went in tuesday July 29th at about 4:40 pm into a completly empty store. No employees, no signs but doors unlocked. I figured they were watching from the back and waited about 10 minktes with still no service, all while I heard people in the back so I left. My baby sister threw a fit so we went back about 20 minutes later to 2 employees talking by the register. I then ordered and asked if anyone was there earlier, the employee admitted to being in the back but not always noticing when people come in due to the door bell anf being on her phone. The other employee just giggles and went to the back. Regardless I order and wait absurdly long for 1 small drink being the only customer, only for it not to be the right one. Not only was it wrong it was not mixed well and kept separating. Overall horrible customer service and attitude. Should at least get drinks right if employees are gonna be like that.

The plastic found amongst my boba.
    Eliana J.

Okay,so- firstly, honestly, my drink, itself, tasted really great- until I found a piece of plastic in my drink. I got a brown sugar milk tea with boba, half sweet. It had good flavor and the boba had nice texture. The staff greeted me warmly and prepared my drink fast. However, when biting down on a piece of boba, my teeth hit something hard. I took it out to find that it was a little piece of plastic in my drink. I called to inform the business, but the girl on the phone sounded like she could almost not care less. It was just gross to find and really put me off. I have never found plastic in a drink before, so this was ridiculous. If you add on to that the really poor customer service that I received over the phone, this comes down from a 4.5 star review from me to a one. The least they could have done was tried to offer me a refund, but, again, the employee showed no regret.

    Lulu P.

I was hoping a subzero temp drink after a short walk in 102 degrees desert heat. Instead I got a warm Taro boba tea. I'm still waiting for the ice to cool and water down my super sweet drink. Should have asked for 1/2 sweet and something blended. Friendly staff, cute place to hang out.

Great music playing in the background set the mood, songs like Knock Three Times and Song Sung Blue by Neil Diamond. The lady who helped me place my order, possibly the owner, was so sweet. Patient too, as I made my selections. It was hard to choose what to get as the shop has so many appetizing sweet and savory options on the menu. I ended up getting a chocolate milkshake and a 6-pack of oatmeal cookies I was able to take home and share, including chocolate chip (no nuts), chocolate walnut, peanut butter dark chocolate cashew, dark chocolate pecan, dark chocolate cashew, and oatmeal raisin with pecans (they have a nut-free version too). The taste of everything was phenomenal. The shake had the perfect consistency and a strong chocolatey flavor, yet wasn't too sweet. And the cookies were nice and chewy and loaded with delicious chunks of nuts and chocolate. Honestly, I couldn't really tell the difference between the nut and chocolate combo flavors as the oatmeal was really the highlight. The peanut butter one and oatmeal raisin were more recognizable. ALL of them were amazing!

I recently had to be in the downtown Glendale area - the Yelp machine recommended I hit up Blue Corn Cafe. There's some development / construction in the downtown area so parking is a little limited. However - I was able to snag a spot right along 58th Ave and get a good view of all the cute shops to check out at a later date. Blue Corn was surprisingly busy that morning due to hosting a Coffee with Cops event. I got the low down from a few of the GPD staff that they are consistently rated as one of the best cafes in the city, maybe even the West Valley. They have recently-ish opened up a second location in DT Mesa, which definitely fits their vibe. I was told the owner gets up early every day to bake - I love the dedication to his craft. Like many mom and pops, there are times when quantities are limited. So ofc I had to buy some baked goods to go for my work team! Their muffins are HUGE - like 2 -3 servings per *singular* muffin. I didn't know what I was getting into when I bought 6... hello carb heaven for us. I noticed a lot of sweet and savory options - croissant sandwiches, cookies, you name it. Definitely the muffins were well-enjoyed by all (PSL, lemon-blueberry, red velvet), and the general consensus was lemon blueberry as the winner. It's a small space with not a lot of seating options however there appears to be a back patio that might be shared with other restaurants. I couldn't get a view on my way out. Cannot wait for the next time that I'm in the area to grab more sweets!

I had about a two-hour break during a track…read moremeet and noticed a small line forming outside this bakery in downtown Glendale--so I decided to go on a little adventure. This was my first stop, and I'm so glad it was. The café itself is absolutely charming--spacious, clean, and with plenty of seating. But what stood out immediately was the customer service. From the moment I walked in, everyone was smiling. You can tell this is a team that genuinely enjoys what they do. Despite the line, they were patient, welcoming, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Their coffee selection is wide but not overwhelming. . I went with the matcha latte with pistachio, which was well-balanced. When it came to food, I couldn't decide between my usual go-to (broccoli and cheese quiche) or the bacon, spinach, and cheddar--or even the tomato basil, which sounded amazing. I asked the barista/ server to choose for me, and she recommended the bacon, spinach, and cheddar. It did not disappoint. The crust was thick and perfectly done, and the filling was layered and flavorful--just incredible. I also ordered an ube muffin and was given a complimentary lemon tart (no complaints here!). The ube muffin was exactly what you'd hope for--lightly sweet with a delicate blend of vanilla, nutty notes, and a hint of coconut. The lemon tart was perfectly balanced--bright, slightly tart, and complemented beautifully by the whipped topping. Before leaving, I grabbed a loaf of sourdough to go. They even offered to slice it for me--small detail, big win. And I have to say, coming from San Francisco, I do not say this lightly: this is hands-down some of the best sourdough I've had outside of San Francisco. Honestly worth the 45-minute drive just for that alone. I come from a background in the restaurant industry, and great service doesn't go unnoticed. Everyone here was attentive, kind, and truly invested in the experience they provide. The customer service alone is worth the visit. They so offer Panini's and daily soups.. Their menu changes daily. They also offer Louisiana hot sauce so someone knows what they're doing. I can't wait to bring my kids here next time. We will absolutely be back.

It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!
