First thing to note - their small is really tiny and their regular is probably as big as a large elsewhere. We got the taro flavor which is just powdered stuff. The cheapest in van is $3.99 but average is still $5 so this place costs about average. However they dont put enough of the powder. I've had worse and really watered down. This is somewhere in between. Definitely can benefit by adding more powder. Have yet to try other stuff but looking forward to fresh fruit smoothies since a lot of bbt places don't do that. read more

Went to this place on a Thursday night around 5pm. Basically half the menu was unavailable, pearls required a 20+ min wait, and there wasn't even grass jelly. ??? The tea itself is below average and the small size is tiny (get the regular size). The only redeeming quality is that the price is reasonable especially if you get their specials ($4 as of Dec 2023). I really like how they use real matcha powder and their pearls are slightly sweetened, but at 50% sugar the drink was very bitter. The pearls were alright. The size of the pearls were kind of small and the pearls weren't particularly memorable. My bf ordered a roasted oolong bubble tea that turned out a really pale colour. The flavour is also very subtle and reminded me of coconut rather than roasted tea. My Overall, I don't think this is a place that impressed me with their bubble tea. Perhaps the non-bubble tea options are better since they have other products available. With so many bubble tea places, standards are really high now! I had the mango classic with pearl. I sense there's some fresh fruit in there but it tasted it it mostly had canned mango purée and milk in it. Similar to a mango pudding in a Chinese restaurant. The honey pearls are too soft for my liking. My friends had the taro smoothie and the green milk tea. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to find it rarely empty. Got the recommended Thai iced tea (it was a staff pick) and was quite disappointed with it. The Thai ice tea tasted very artificial - like it came from an instant milk tea package, the pearls were also very clumpy and did not taste fresh at all. Decided to come here and try it out after hearing good things. I came here on a weekday and there were quite a bit of customers there. However, plenty of seating space for everyone. My bubbly tea was made in a timely manner, didn't have to wait long at all. I ordered my usual taro bubble tea whenever I hit up a bubble tea place. The slush was flavourful, not watered down. The consistency of the pearls were very soft, which I was not used to having. It definitely made it easier to chew on but I'm not sure whether I loved the texture. We have been to Blend Bubble Tea on many occasions and we keep coming back! We have tried a variety of their drinks: Milk teas, fruit teas, and fresh fruit smoothies. They are all great tasting and refreshing. My fiance even got their reusable bubble tea cups as engagement favours for our family and friends (he loves bubble tea THAT MUCH). And we recently tried their fries.. we chose the Japanese Mayo, which is sesame seeds, Japanese mayo, dried seaweed, and bonito flakes. They were really good! Came here mid afternoon with a friend (who really likes Blend's "tareo" drink) for my first visit to PoCo. I got my usual milk tea, half sweet with pearls and she ended up getting a taro milk tea. My drink was 3/5 - a little on the watery side, but the tea flavour was nice. Excellent sweetness. However, the honey pearls I had (they were out of vanilla pearls but the person who took my order said "it's pretty much the same") were a little.... off? To be fair I don't really like the flavour of honey in and of itself so I was hoping it would be a very subtle flavour, but instead it just tasted kind of earthy. If you're a fan of honey then 100% get this flavour of pearls. The pearls have a decent consistency, they're very chewy, and are otherwise good. Most customers didn't seem to mind that a lot of the drinks were powdered. But kudos to Blend's attention to making *most* tea drinks fresh and with the use of syrups. Love the fact that this new bubble tea place in PoCo is open until midnight! An even more special fact about this bubble tea place is that it's the only one of its kind in Port Coquitlam! They have a big menu that will please everyone - I had a strawberry slushee with real strawberry bits, my husband got a banana smoothie with lychee jelly, my sister in law had a fresh fruit strawberry smoothie with no sugar added, and my other sister in law had a coconut smoothie with passion fruit popping pearls, and my brother had a raspberry mango slushie with coconut jelly... *the only thing that I don't like is they have plastic cups and no recycling stations.... You can buy a mason jar which is a great idea, but I'm not sure that many people will care enough about the environment to buy one. I hope they start recycling all of the plastic cups they use here! I feel guilty throwing them out.... Some other cool facts - they have jenga, cards and board games for guests to play as well as free wifi. Used to really like this place but it's like walking into a high school clique most days. I waited 20 min for the bubbles to be made... paid for a bubble tea and was told by the employee that he would bring it out to me in my car..while I'm in my car, I see customerS going into the restaurant and then walking out with bubble tea... I've had numerous bubble teas from all around the world and I always order the same drink milk tea with Pearl's. But I have to say blend bubble teas Asam black tea with Pearl's is soooooo good ! I've been here maybe 6 times and each time wasn't a very good experience. It seems like this place is run by a bunch of 13 year olds, which would be totally fine if they acted like professionals. They always seem confused like they don't know what they're doing and they treat the place like it's their hangout. During my last visit, the employees were trash talking another staff member and airing their dirty laundry with a bunch of customers around. It was super unprofessional and rather annoying. You basically walk in and feel like you're in high school. Aside from the atmosphere, the bubble tea is good. They have lots of options to customize your drink. You can choose the sweetness, the milk, the fresh fruit, and the bubbles. They have vegan options which not a lot of milk bubble tea places do. The refillable jar is ridiculously priced. It costs around 7 or 8 dollars on top of the drink you fill it with and the refill price isn't worth it. I broke my jar and brought the pieces back that had the sticker on it. They wouldn't give me a new one and they wouldn't fill a same size jar that I brought. Because of this and the unprofessional staff, I find the customer service to be lacking. Due to the immature staff and less than par customer service, I avoid this place when I can. I would only recommend this place to someone who was looking for vegan milk bubble tea. read more

Brought our young family here a couple of days ago in the afternoon. Parking is very limited out front but there is more just around the street corner. There are plenty of seating options here whether you want to do some work at a table or just laze around on a couch. I like how the menu is attractive and well laid out. Too many times I'll go into a bubble tea place and see 80 different choices just splattered on a menu. No one truly needs that many choices. I recommend trying their Specialty Bubble Tea, in particular the Tareo blended bubble tea. In my opinion it's the best flavour they offer. I want to also mention their meal combos which serve excellent value if you're hungry for more than just bubble tea. Service is friendly and the hours are good in a location that does not have another bubble tea place close by. I'm so glad that they opened a bubble tea place near where I live. I had the coconut smoothie with the jelly pearls for the first time, I really liked it. They have various options to chose from. My daughter who is really picky also enjoyed the drink with me. It is a nice little cozy place, there are enough tables and chairs for people to sit and enjoy their bubble tea. I wanted to like this place because it was so close to my house, I even bought a mason jar thinking I would come back over and over. Initial impression of the place was it seemed nice, clean, and I expected big flavors out of the list they had. I got the roasted oolong milk tea with vanilla bean infused pearls. Unfortunately, it was premixed so I wasn't able to choose my mix, whether it was soy, almond, etc. I had to stick with the homo milk. Too bad they didn't have skim or 1% as homo milk is a little too creamy for me. I got it with 50% sweetness and without the half n half. I would give the taste 4/10 as the tea flavor wasn't strong at all. I got a hint of it with mostly creamy milk. I am a big tea drinker because my profession is based around tea. The fact that this "roasted oolong tea" wasn't very strong with the usual smoky nutty flavors you normally get from oolong was disappointing. The pearls were decent, I got some tastes of vanilla bean but not a whole lot. Would I come back? I am not sure..I did buy a mason jar... Maybe if they change up their way of doing things I would. Great options for people that would like their drinks customized. It's nice that you can choose the sweetness of your drinks and substitute different things in your drink instead of just pearls (which they also have two different flavours for). I personally am not a fan of having toppings so not having toppings included in the price is awesome cause in edmonton bbt places always include pearls in the price and if you choose a different topping they charge you an arm and a leg for it. Also the variety in flavours they have at the store is amazing. Blend is fairly big for a bubble tea shop. They have two dart machines, cards, jenga and other board games if you and your friends require something to help you pass your time while sipping on your bubble tea. Most bbt drinkers here are in their teens and are of Caucasian ethnicity (which is not seen often in Richmond/Vancouver bubble tea shops). Upon recommendation, I got the Oreo Matcha with half vanilla and half honey infused pearls. This is a novelty as I've not seen this elsewhere. The oreo matcha was ok sweet for me. If it were possible to adjust the sweetness of this drink, I would go for 80%. The vanilla inflused pearls were lost. I couldn't taste any vanilla at all. I did enjoy the honey infused pearls. The service was ok but I do feel they were warmer to the other customers. Perhaps because they were locals and we kind of went out of our way to get our bubble tea. read more

Tried the Kit Kat specialty blend and absolutely loved it! Full of chocolate flavor and perfect to drink on a warm day! Also was amazed by the popping pearls as they melt in your mouth right away. A great place to either get together with friends for a game of Jenga or to have late night study sessions as it is open till Midnight. Definitely visiting this place on a weekly basis.
