Service: We received our coffees and no creamer... just coffees and walked off.. later took our order and never came back.. ordered at 11 and 11:45 nothing so we left after 4 other tables received their food. I ordered the catfish with onion rings and coleslaw. Started with the onion rings, and those things were awesome. Love the batter. The coleslaw wasn't dry and the flavor was decent. The catfish is where the 1 star was lost. The flavor wasn't bad, but wasn't great either. The main problem is that the skin was chewy, like it had been in the microwave or something. Also, it was a to-go order, and there wasn't any silverware in the bag. The food was good enough that I'd try them again. read more

Saw this places heading up to the lake on Friday, knowing I had to pass it to go home on Sunday. Told the wife we are going to try that for lunch on the way home. When we pulled in there were maybe 3 cars in the parking lot at 11:45 am on a Sunday 1st of Aug. Didn't stop us, we wanted to see why so many on Google gave it 4 stars and Yelp 3.5....we get inside and see this big old Slad bar, country counter and to the left the kitchen window. Tables all around and a couple waitresses who yelled " seat yourself!". We did at a booth up front. The menu was fairly big for a small town diner, but contained all your expectations except no meatloaf. The wife decided on the Sunday special. It's not every Sunday but it was this particular day. I went with a diner staple of Bacon cheese with their onion rings since that got the most attention in all of the reviews. I guess they made extra of the specials as those were ready in 3 minutes from the time of order versus my burger that was handmade and prepared. I sampled the wife's and it was all really good, literally like grandma used to make. My burger was exactly as I had hoped, toasted bun, Chopped onions, folded lettuce and crisp bacon. The onion rings were so light and amazing...have to get these!!. Now I want to stop every time we go through Atoka it was that good. And to listen to the locals talk is like getting a show for free. If you pass through, please stop the food was awesome. So were the people!! read more

I love going to Bledsoes diner. Foods always good. I just wish they would go back to the buffet menu even if just one day a week.

Small town diner with big charm appeal for driving through on a road trip. Service was quick and friendly. Food was exactly what you expect from small town greasy spoon restaurant. I had that grilled turkey and cheese sandwich which was tasty. My friends had the cheeseburgers, and were rated high among other restaurants in their experience. The breakfast menu prices have increased since the menu photo was taken. My two-egg, bacon, hash browns and toast cost $6.70 before sales tax. The bacon was dried out--like it was about two days old. See the photo of my hash "browns." No crispy brown potatoes here. The wait staff person was congenial (and apologetic about the long wait to have food prepared, the cost, and the steamed potatoes). I stopped here for breakfast on a 4-hour road trip. I'll stop for coffee and fast food before I ever stop here again when driving through Atoka. read more

I eat here when I drive up to northern Arkansas from Texas. Occasionally the service can get a little backed up, but no one is standing around being lazy or anything. The food has always come out fresh and very tasty. Staff has always been friendly. Regarding COVID, they've taken measures for social distancing like closing down the salad bar, closing off tables, and the staff were mostly wearing masks correctly. I wouldn't say the patrons exactly care, though, so if you are immunocompromised, just be aware this might not be your place. I'll keep coming back, especially for the fried catfish. read more

Bledsoe's diner is your quintessential hole-in-the-wall small town place. Locals and travelers alike will enjoy the homey feel. The burger was the largest I've ever seen and was loaded with at least 6 sliced of bacon. My husband had the all you can eat buffet which was fresh and scrumptious with fried chicken, meatloaf, mashed potatoes, beans, peas, and macaroni and cheese. This will definitely be our travel spot when going between Texas and Oklahoma. read more

Looks dive-y but the burgers are cooked fresh to order and they are huge and delicious. Get there early enough and the buffet food is all fresh and good - a great value for the price. I am somewhat obsessive about cleanliness; this place could use a deep cleaning. But the food is good so I keep going back. Dirtiest place I have ever been to. When we walked in, there was a woman who had a disgustingly dirty shirt on. There is no way her shirt got that dirty in just one morning. You wouldn't believe it. I was hoping she wasn't an employee but it turned out she was the cook. My son went to the bathroom and I asked him if he washed his hands. He said the sink was too dirty. I made him go back and wash them anyway but I saw what he was talking about. Then the waitress brought us all some water before we ordered. My wife's cup had pink lipstick on it. I wiped some of it off with a napkin. The waitress tried to excuse it and said, "I think it's just some paint." I said it looks like lipstick and she said, "Oh, they are just not cleaning my dishes." We stopped in on a road trip from Dallas to Michigan and had the lunch buffet which was up and running before 11:00. For $6.95 apiece, it wasn't bad. Salad bar lacked tomatoes and cucumbers, but was otherwise OK. We both had the fried chicken off the buffet and it needed salt (which I don't mind at all - I'd prefer to salt my own food!), but was crispy and not greasy. There were collard greens with bacon, but the rest of the sides were a starch lovers heaven: corn, pinto beans, rice, and mashed potatoes with two kinds of gravy. Rolls and cornbread were included, as well as two kinds of cake for dessert. Lots of locals, many of whom were ordering breakfast or burgers off the menu. Stopped in on our way home from Tulsa based on the reviews and regretted it. What a waste of our money and time. The salad was a very small bowl of lettuce, onions, a carrot an a slice of bell pepper. My friend ordered a steak done medium it came to the table well done and very tough. Baked potato was ok we were given melted butter and sour cream. The Texas toast tasted like dirty grill. My chicken fried chicken didn't come with gravy and was tasteless and dry. The staff seemed friendly and in a hurry to shuffle customers out so they could close in 45 minutes. We felt rushed, underserved and had the worst food ever. Pass this place up. read more

A diner for sure, where the locals put on a "floor show" every morning. I first stopped by accident on a Friday to find a delightful catfish, fried chicken buffet that I now schedule on my return trips off the road selling. Since my first stop I have discovered 'Earl's Burger' (not on the menu, just ask for it!) you'll not leave hungry. If you are thinking morning, have Diane fix breakfast that will carry you through the day. The owners and help are local and genuine. Breakfast is great, lunch is the place to be and evenings are slow, you will be cared for. I can't say most of these good things about other diners I have found on the road. We stopped for breakfast and were not fans. We ordered off the menu and their eggs and omelettes were rubber. Couldn't eat them. They don't butter your toast and instead serve dry toast with a bowl of gravy. I guess if you are fans of gravy, you might enjoy this. But we weren't, and no options were provided. The breakfast potatoes were shredded mushy wet white potatoes -- more boiled or steamed, no crisp any where on it. We left most of our food on our plates and left hungry. There are other diners in other towns along the route through Oklahoma -- I suggest you move on to the next one. read more

We stopped for dinner at Bledsoe's on the way to Dallas. It must have recently reopened. My wife enjoyed her hamburger. My chicken fried steak wasn't bad. I wouldn't recommend the salad bar although we probably caught it late in the evening. The service was friendly and quick. There aren't many choices on this stretch of road and we will probably stop again. read more

Wow! The chicken-fried steak is outstanding--the best we've ever had!. The meat was fork-tender and the batter was flavorful and crispy over the entire steak. This is one of those single family operations that the locals know about and those of us just traveling thru dream of finding. The staff were friendly and offered prompt service. Our only "disappointment" was we were there on Monday and their highly touted home-made pies aren't made fresh until Thursday.
