I use Yelp almost every month and it's introduced me to a lot of good businesses. Unfortunately…read moreit's really hard to contact them for general items that would improve my experience as a user, so I'm writing this review. Payment options should be added to filter merchants that have surcharges for using credit cards. I really dislike that practice and would like to filter out any businesses that do that before going there, especially as it becomes more common.

I have seen so many changes over the years. None for the better. I have been on Yelp off and on…read moresince about 2006, this is my most recent account. I have Yelped in a lot of different markets. Some better than others. Some CMs way better than others. I have been elite on this account and others and lost my elite status on a couple of accounts I have since closed. My ultimate takeaway, the community elements are gone. It's fine tuned to promote newbies to elite and dictate what those people should be saying, photographing, businesses to reward and punish. I have never seen one person lose their elite status and get it back. Zero. It doesn't happen. I used to chat a little bit here and there with Jeremy S. I asked him about what he thought about the South Park Yelp episode when that came out. There were all of these wild rumors about what he said or did in response to it. He liked it and said you know you made it when South Park roasts you. It was a fun and wild time, when you could actually have a random chat on this platform with the Yelp CEO. I still review lots of stuff and photograph tons of things. I just do it on Google now to express my opinions and track the journey of life. Why? For me, Yelp's magic existed within the community. Without that, reviewing is just a tiring chore. A lot of awesome people have given up on Yelp over the years and I really understand that. It's impersonal now and staged. It feels forced and cheesy. These days, Yelp is about selling yourself and your worth to Yelp and to your CM and kissing ass. So, it's not really that great anymore IMO. I miss UYE, etc. All people were included. It didn't matter who you were or what value your CM thought you had. You could just show up and shoot the shit with other active Yelpers. It was literally that simple. Forrest Gump was wrong, life isn't like a box of chocolates. Life is one big popularity contest. Some people are popular, and then there's the rest of us. Yelp with no community feels really draining and that's my two cents. Or maybe rounded up to five since we are eliminating pennies.

Yeah, I don't know either…read more I generally have a hard time giving these market-research companies four stars, and I almost never give them five stars, but sometimes easy money is easy money. I showed up for what I thought would be an hour-long endeavor that would require a swimming-cap thing to be fitted to my head and weird oily stuff put in my hair--seriously, I've had experiences like this in the past--but it was basically twelve minutes and I was out, with $30 in hand. No weird caps, no annoyingly repetitive questions. I followed some instructions, was helped by one of the most efficient market-research-company employees I've ever met, and was done. I'd do it again. And again. And again and again. It's also kind of fun walking around this area at rush hour, signing in with security downstairs, and using really clean bathrooms. I know; I need to get out more. Or get a life. Or both.

Before I approached, I expected to get chewed out or at least glared at. I've been here twice now with no issues. On my first visit, I got a guy who was really friendly and helpful. He got me my ticket, and even told me which direction to go to and which port I should look for, without me having to ask. The second time, I got a guy who seemed to be in training with the first guy guiding him. The trainee was able to get the job done without a problem. I usually don't give places like this a review, but I felt the need to write up a good one, so others won't be afraid to come here like I had been and give them a shot.

The staff (woman) charged my 77-year-old mother-in-law $50 instead of $5, then refused to refund the $45 and told us to contact Clipper Customer Service. When we went back, there was a different 'unhelpful' employee (man). He told me he "knows his job better than I do" and claimed there was no way to verify the card was linked to my mother-in-law's clipper card number--which is BS, since they were able to pull up an account associated with another card. Once again, they refused to issue the refund. Avoid this place. Extremely poor service and accountability. The steal, even from retired old people!

What a great addition to the Bay Area radio landscape! For the longest time, Northern California…read morehas suffered from a lack of variety on the airwaves, and this new station has come to save the day. Playing a blend of throwback hip hop and R&B mixed in with popular hits from today, Q102 is a refreshing break from the same old, same old from the likes of KMEL, Wild 94.9, Movin' 99.7, etc. Now, I am certainly not one of those old curmudgeons who vehemently blasts the (lack of) quality of music today, but you must admit, a lot of the stuff out now is absolutely abhorrent (that Tuesday song has got to be the most horrible sound to pierce my eardrums since that one terrible MIA song from Slumdog Millionaire with the random gunshots). To spare my sanity, I've been frequently using the Tune In Radio app to stream the finest old school hip hop station in the nation, 93.5 KDAY in LA (http://www.yelp.com/biz/93-5-kday-los-angeles?hrid=b68FRyTzDPGxl5Lb1ILddA), but Q102 just might start inching up towards the top of my list. When the likes of LL Cool J - Around the Way Girl, Public Enemy - Can't Truss It, EPMD - You Gots to Chill, Da Brat - Funkdafied, Bone Thugs 'n Harmony - First of the Month, Tevin Campbell - I'm Ready, and Hi-Five - I Like the Way all come blaring through your Alpine deck... back to back to back, you KNOW it's time to keep that dial on lock. However, the reason why I can't give a full five stars is that indeed, in order to pay the bills, Q102 has to throw in the occasional Iggy, Drake, Big Sean, and whatever else is the flavor of the week nowadays. It's a small price to pay for the opportunity to be graced with the classic hits I haven't heard since high school. With how cutthroat the radio industry can be, who's to say how long Q102 will be able to survive, but I am glad that finally someone is willing to break free from the monotony. Just as I said in my review of KDAY, Q102 is the "ish!"

I know I know... 1 star; WHAT THE?!!…read more I have my reasons. The music played on the station is dope. I can't deny that. But, if you make promises to your listeners...keep them. I have reached out to the station, to customer service telephone line, and by email. BUT no response. I have yet to receive the tickets I won for the Lauryn Hill mountain winery concert. The concert is in 3 days. Tickets were supposed to be mailed to me a long time ago (when I won 2 months back) They won't have will call. So why get my hopes up? Why play with my emotions? Obviously I held up my end of the deal. I called and called. Got through to the station. Won. Gave the PR my address and name. I have tried to reach out. Now it's come to this. I had high hopes. Now I'm just bitter. Bye Felecia

Unfortunately recently , I've noticed and hope it is not a beginning trend that this newspaper starts using "porn" like female pictures in its magazine and Sunday's articles. In its 06/12-06/18 Singtao Times Weekly, there is a featured story about homosexuals (in Taiwan only??): lesbians seek ways to get pregnant and gay men are forced into "fake" marriages because they want to become parents. But they use a picture showing "topless" pretty women only (men are well dressed) to depict homosexuals. Is "topless women" the only way to convey to readers what homosexuals are?? In addition, in its 6/13/2010 Sunday health article about hip in general, it featured a "bottomless" curvy woman (no men). Again, this "bottomless" curvy woman picture (with no pant ) is unnecessary. I don't think the picture sends a correct message to readers. It is somewhat degrading the women especially the beautiful ones with good physique. I certainly don't want my children thinking their parents reading "porn" newspaper. I'd upgrade the rating of this newspaper higher if they stop using "porn" like figures in its magazine or articles.

The one star off is because they have been cutting budget recently so the paper quality has reduced.
