In my mind, it just can't be the same as a sit-down meal. It won't be as fresh, the presentation won't be the same, and the food may taste different when served in plastic rather than on a plate. I've seen some rather high-end establishments I have been to get marked down because of a home delivery disaster that may be out of the establishment's control. Do you get home delivery, and do you hold it to the same standards as dine-in? Please send me a note via compliments or pm. Thank you.

So, I edited down my review and made it compliant. Admittedly I was really upset with the terrible church at the time, but I did rewrite my review. But Yelp still rejected all attempts to repost my review. When I contacted Yelp and kindly spoke with a woman, she blamed their algorithm and said there was nothing that she could do to override their computer system. To this day, my negative review of Smyrna Baptist Church is buried so that people cannot see it. You have to search for a small link at the bottom that leads readers to other reviews. Unfortunately, my negative review doesn't even appear in the number of reviews shown for their church. Yelp is guilty of horrible censorship and taking away freedom of speech, for which I cannot give their company more than one star. I edited my review to make it perfectly acceptable, but Yelp still refuses to post my new review because it was initially rejected. That is wrong.

I was glued to the pages the whole flight and subscribed the second I got back. Those were the heady days of my budding love affair with San Francisco, when the city could do no wrong and waves of discovery were washing over me at an almost unbearable rate. So the magazine was quite helpful for marinating my brain in the local flavor and gaining some semblance of orientation. But now, I've got a lot more personal experience with SF (and, let's face it, I've got Yelp), and the magazine isn't quite the eye-opener it once was. More importantly, though, the city (and, let's face it, Yelp's uber-populist medium/message) has turned me into something of an anti-consumerist eco-hippie, and the dream of high-society hobnobbing and owning that killer loft has palled considerably since I realized I was just being subjected to the incredibly paradoxical mass-marketing of luxury "lifestyles". Unfortunately, though, there are still a lot of Boomers (ok, and some young folks) in this city who subscribe to that dream, and SF Magazine is catering to them more than ever these days. So aside from the excellent "Reporter's Notebook" articles, there really isn't much to interest me anymore, and I find myself on the lookout for a Bay Area lifestyle magazine that caters to my *actual* lifestyle. Sorry SF Mag--to quote one of your ads, you may have overlooked nothing, but I don't actually want to overlook everything.

Engine runs so smooth. Even when it turned into this Bollywood station I would still listen to it from time to time. I got a kick out of the advertisements - always the same ones - I remember this realtor speaking highly of herself - shameless promotion in her heavy accent while speaking English. So one day I'm minding my own business shuffling through all the stations frantically and I recognize NoNames voice. I couldn't believe it. No more Bollywood for me. Turns out they were on a yoga retreat. He said so himself. Right when the station returned they had the 1800 number to call in with your opinions during every ad session. Listening to it again was almost like getting in a time machine and going back ten years. I even felt ten years younger again in an instant. Who knew? Potions and lotions and botox had nothing on listening to this station. They recycled the same 15 songs and played them on a loop just like they always had. It was so familiar - very soothing. At the same time it was very very terrible - not like a train derailment - but maybe like a child scribbling some ugly piece of art. Bad but in a good way. One star for NoName. Love the guy. I remember when I met him. He looks just as you would imagine him to look from knowing his voice only. I got some concert tickets from him for knowing some band trivia questions on air. One star for Aaron Axelsen. Sound check is probably one of the only good reasons to listen. Sunday evenings from 8 - 10. New stuff. Interesting stuff. Local stuff. Its not better than Barbara Streissand but its different. All these years had passed. My Jetta now officially slowly slipped into heapdoom status. Saggy headliner, engine light, a knock here and there in the suspension and a big dent on the drivers door from when I had to take Mr Moose to the emergency room and time was of the essence. Engine still runs so smooth but the interior stinks. I'm not sure if Mr Moose did something in there or maybe the a/c evaporator core drain is clogged. It stinks and I don't think I'm going to fix it for it to pass its next smog check. I'm either going to spritz some freshner in it and dump it on CL or donate it to my favorite Cantonese radio station in San Jose. They gave me a shen yun calendar last time. I enjoyed that all year. Nothing can be depended on anymore in life except for Coupe Deville's and that 1053 button in my Jetta.

KRON4 Ignored a Documented Story About Discrimination, Gatekeeping, Retaliation, and California's…read moreMental-Health Workforce I am giving KRON4 one star based on my direct experience with the station and its newsroom. I contacted KRON4 reporter Dan Kerman with a documented public-interest story involving alleged disability discrimination, LGBTQ discrimination, institutional gatekeeping, retaliation, higher education, professional licensing, and California's mental-health workforce. I provided enough information and supporting material for KRON4 to understand why I believed the matter had significance beyond one individual. I am intentionally not repeating the confidential details of that submission here. Those materials were provided to KRON4 for journalistic consideration, not public disclosure. I did not expect Dan Kerman to automatically take the story or agree with me. I expected basic professional courtesy. A simple response saying, "I received your information, but we are not pursuing the story," would have been enough. Instead, I experienced silence. That was particularly disappointing because Dan was someone I had known years ago through San Francisco's gay community and whose work I respected. Sharing a community connection does not obligate anyone to cover a story, but it made the dismissiveness especially disappointing. I expected professionalism, not preferential treatment. When I received no meaningful acknowledgment, I elevated the matter to KRON4 newsroom leadership. Again, I did not demand coverage. I asked for confirmation that the information had reached the appropriate editorial level and had been considered. Nearly three weeks passed without even that basic acknowledgment. At that point, the phrase "the apple doesn't fall far from the tree" seemed appropriate. When essentially the same dismissiveness continued after I moved from an individual reporter to newsroom leadership, my concern stopped being about one person and began looking, in my experience, like a broader newsroom culture. That is difficult to reconcile with KRON4 calling itself "The Bay Area's Local News Station." A local newsroom depends on the public. Tips, witnesses, sources, and viewers all come from the community. When someone submits documented information involving discrimination, disability rights, LGBTQ issues, retaliation, professional gatekeeping, education, licensing, and the mental-health workforce, I believe the minimum professional response should be acknowledgment--even if the answer is no. What makes this more frustrating is KRON4's editorial choices. KRON4 has devoted newsroom space to what I consider stupid, bizarre, and insignificant stories: kittens trapped in pipes, a baby fox traveling inside a construction pipe, a fur seal found in bushes, a giant marmot appearing in San Francisco, a bologna-inspired face mask, and other "Strange" or viral stories. Some viewers may enjoy those stories. Fine. But I have every right to question the priorities of a news organization that can find time and resources for those stories while a documented matter involving discrimination, retaliation, LGBTQ concerns, disability access, higher education, professional licensing, and California's mental-health workforce cannot apparently merit even a two-sentence acknowledgment. Although I now live in Los Angeles, this was not simply a private Los Angeles matter. The issues involved California institutions, California licensing, discrimination, disability access, and the statewide mental-health workforce. KRON4 also shares its parent company, Nexstar Media Group, with Los Angeles station KTLA 5. California stories cross television-market boundaries all the time. Again, I was not demanding coverage. I was asking a professional newsroom to review serious information and communicate whether it had any interest. A respectful "no" would have been professional. Silence was not. At the time I checked Yelp, KRON4 showed approximately 2.3 stars across roughly 150 reviews. My one-star rating, however, is based on my own direct experience. My criticism is not that KRON4 refused to broadcast my story. My criticism is that after submitting serious, documented information and then elevating the matter within the newsroom, I could not obtain the most basic professional acknowledgment. Two sentences could have prevented this entire review: "Thank you for sending the materials. We reviewed them and have decided not to pursue the story." That would have been professional. Silence was not.

My husband also is already not happy with this change. What was a good thing is now a bad and I don't think I would watch Western's programming 24 hours a day.
