KRON TV 4 am could improve if they referred to Good Morning America on how to look professional. Not everyone on the am is on the wrong track. This morning Michael Thomas jumped into a bunch of children's sponges? And indicated he was going for a glass of wine. So inappropriate and unprofessional. He appeared to be high or ? And then there is Reyna Harvey who never wears anything that complements her! Her hair and big earrings are so distracting. She is a pretty young lady but someone should help guide her on her appearance. Both these newscasters are distracting to what their job should be about. How does Darya Folsom still have a job? She has been awful for as long as I can remember. I just watched her interview new mayor Daniel Lurie. I was embarrassed for her. First, she was dressed wholly inappropriate for her age and her job. Second, she just is beyond irritatingly stupid. She interrupted, asked irrelevant questions, makes stupid observations, didn't let James Fletcher speak or ask a question and through the whole interview fake grinned/giggled...actually giggled. I've always loved Kron4 News that's why I was so surprised when they dropped the ball when it came to their story on the 2 poor teenage girls that were shot in NAPA, they really need to have their facts authenicated before telling the story, first reporting two 15 year olds girls, then two 17 year olds girls and finally the real ages I'm assuming of one 15 year old girl and one 19 year old girl, small things like this can really upset some parents when it comes to a tragedy like this and they shouldn't have to experience that, they need to professional like they've always been in the past. read more

2024 Update. Kron 4 is now a CW affiliate which I do not like their schedule at all. The station lost a couple hours of news due to the time shift of their programming to fit in CW programming. Also their affiliate Antenna TV is flawed because KRON broadcast college sports over the channel when they are having a mega TV marathon and I do not like that. read more

I watch kron 4 every morning for the local news, traffic and events. They do a pretty good job covering the Bay Area and some of the National and world news. The personalities are all pretty good and they seem to have fun working together. I like when they have political analysts comment on the elections. read more

KRON 4 used to be my morning ritual. I'd watch the newscast, make coffee, maybe some Dr. Phil, that's how I'd start the day. There'd be movie reviews with Jan Wahl (who always loved every movie she saw), Marty Gonzalez (the Silver Fox), Pam Moore, Darya Folsom, and Gary Radnich talking sports. Back in 2002, they were an all-star team of sorts, but the quality of Darya and Gary's journalism has declined over the years. It used to be the entertainment news was with Entertainment Tonight&Inside Edition, but KRON 4 became an infomercial&infotainment. They used to call themselves "The Bay Area's News Station." For a brief time, KRON 4 dabbled in English telenovelas starring Bo Derek&Morgan Fairchild- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2MOq0YjAT4 What's interesting is that MyNetwork TV was doing limited stories, like "Fashion House","American Heiress",and "Saints&Sinners",long before it became a thing with "American Horror Story", and "Game of Thrones." I have changed my previous ratings to give them an extra star, because of the Sunday segments with Marty Gonsalez. He is an excellent anchor, and I love watching him. The travel section and health segments he hosts are great! Overall KRON 4 has some great people working there, but I still think they should offer more quality content. read more

Kron 4 was free to watch for over 45-50 years. My problem is I paid for their KRONOn 4 News. I paid for 2 years of billing than they said they were not getting paid. I have bank statements showing that we are paid up threw next year. I have a snap shot of my bill but because I don't want to post my back statements here due to scam. Okay, this is the Bay Area and people come from all over the world to our area. So when visiting business people turn on the television at their hotel in the morning to get the local news, this station's news anchors are an embarrassment. They should all look, sound, and act like professionals. Seriously, Daria needs to dress more professionally instead of the sloppy "I took 15 minutes to get ready and I'm so tired" look. It's not a good look for someone who's in front of the camera at all. When I turn to Channel 2 (Mornings on 2) I see a whole team of people who dress professionally and look great. AND they look awake, happy, and appear to really enjoy their job. And, they're so likeable! Even their hairstyles are professional. Maybe some folks at 4 should consider changing their dress code to business professional instead of casual Friday everyday. read more

Wow. As someone who was formerly on-air talent in the news industry, I'm appalled by some of KRON's anchors and reporters -- how did they ever get to the SF market?!? This is just a review of KRON's morning show. Please stop trying to make the morning show a talk show. Anchors - Even though it's lighter in the morning, it's still news, so be professional. Anchors & reporters- Don't insert your opinion every five seconds, that's not your job. Meteorologist - yes, we can tell when you're glancing too far to the left for the teleprompter. Although I like the fact that it's not a network-owned or -affiliated station, KRON4 is the Bay Area's worst TV station. Hands down. There's no contest. Watching KRON4's newscast is painful. You almost feel bad for these people. Except the sports guy. I love him. Not because he's very insightful or even that good a sports guy. I love him because he seems like a normal guy who knows he's overpaid and doesn't care. He'll spout off about anything non-sports related, and he'll interrupt the rest of the newscast to do this. And they let him do it. Over and over. And he often takes too long, so they have to cut him off. He also said some interesting things after Matt Gonzalez lost the runoff election to Gavin Newsom. I believe the sports guy called Gonzalez's concession speech the finest political speech he'd ever heard. It was a good speech, but this sports guy just kept repeating himself. The rest of the channel is never worth watching. They take the absolute worst shows ever made and show them all day. You would think I would randomly like at least one show on this channel, but I don't. And I've tried to. I've tuned in at different times on different days, but everything is bad. And they sometimes run infomercials when most channels are running regular programming. read more

I see a lot of reviews slamming Darya - I actually switched to Kron 4 News because of her. But what is making me look for another News station is the infomercials. The same ones every day - over and over. I can not imagine they are the only companies that would provide informercials, and what is wrong with just the commercials? and cant they be limited to the length of commercials if nothing else? The outside journalist Sara Stinson had a rough start - but she is getting better. This is a very factual, get to the point society, and I am afraid I also fall into that category. Ahhh... Gary Radnich. About 15 years ago I called him at KRON and left a voicemail message basically saying I had a huge crush on him and that I desperately wanted to meet him. I did my best to convince him that I wasn't a stalker and assured him I had never done any jail time. And guess what he did... He called me back! He invited me to the studio for a taping of Sit Down! and of course I took him up on it. He could not have been more gracious and attentive. He gave me a tour of the studio, chatted to me while he applied his own make up (for tv) and made sure I was ok during commercial breaks. We are so lucky to have Gary in our bay area world of sports. He's knowledgeable, down to earth, humble, funny and sooo, sooo charming. 15 years later and I still heart Gary... in a non-stalker sort of way. read more

Their incessant infomercials with the annoyingly nervous Henry Tenenbaum should be able to pay for a remote news team, rather than sexually ambiguous and faceless "video journalists". Flip around and all the other stations have real news trucks. KRON even uses Skype for local stories! Positively insulting. At 8:12 in the morning Gary Radnich comes on. No he doesn't. I no longer watch KRON4 as they have resorted to infomercials for distressed properties, odd Doctors, and home remodeling. I understand that during the evening news slot that the average advertisement minutes per hour in the US is now 36 minutes. I haven't timed KRON-TV but my guess is that there advertising minutes per hour is way way more. IMHO, the best way to watch any TV, including the news, is to record it and then on play-back, zip through the crappy low mentality ads in 4 seconds. Many years ago the average time for ads, per hour was 9 minutes. That was tolerable. Today it's all very low class crap to watch. While I was in college I took a course in advertising and marketing. **EDIT 4/11** I'm changing this review because I think if I was Darya I might kick my ass. I do strongly believe that she is an ank-skay making oome-day faces at all the en-may, which makes me wanna uke-pay on the daily. But that's not really Yelp-appropriate, now is it! Mark Dannon looks seriously tested every day by Darya's diarrhea mouth. Mark Tamayo constantly gets cut off by the fade to commercial music. And who is this new guy with Tech Talk holding one cell phone to his ear, and then, hmmm, a different one on the other. WOW. KRON is right- the cutting edge of our burgeoning technology world really is swapping ears on your old crapped out Nokias. The only saving grace of KRON 4, home of my favorite traffic and weather together, is Rasky. Ole Georgie. No one else can come on with such a scruffy face and make me laugh like he can. Classic Georgie quote that I love, in discussing a misshap on the road... "no one knows what happened here, but I bet if you ask someone with the initials George Rask that they will know." Love it. Absolute ridiculousness from the typos in the ticker to the on-camera slip ups. I enjoy watching KRON in the morning for local news, especially when the other stations cut away to their national news broadcasts. Been a fan of Gary Radnich and I enjoy his sports segments. Sometimes his Gary's World segments seem a bit over-indulgent. Kinda nice to see Radnich stay with KRON even when they lost their NBC affiliation. Showed some loyalty. Parenthetically, I really enjoy Gary Radnich as a sports talk show host on the radio. read more
