Super easy, just made a quick phone call, the delivery is very reliable and it's an extremely good value!! 5 stars across the board!

The legality is that we need to advertising the business name within 30 days in a general circulation newspaper distributed in San Mateo County; the advertisement must be published once a week for four successive weeks. I thought I should take action immediately by calling for pricing. I spoke to Gail who was very helpful in giving me information. This is rare for someone who answers a main phone number line which is why I'm giving 5 stars. Here is the info: * It costs $40 for 4 weeks if I'm a single filer with a single business name; if there are more filers and more business names then it is $8 extra for each. * I should receive 3 forms in the mail from San Mateo county. 1 for the newspaper for filing the fictitious business name, 1 for the bank in starting an account and I believe 1 for my records. Once I receive the form for the newspaper, I send or fax it in to the newspaper, they will take the info from the form, create and publish a fictitious business name statement.

Karen: We live in an area where TFC (The Filipino Channel)…read moreis not available. So, this is actually the best deal for me. ABS-CBNnow! is a video and audio streaming subscription service on the Internet that provides access to the best news and entertainment shows from ABS-CBN, the Philippines' largest media network. This is like your TFC TIVO online. They archive all the episodes so you can watch any show anytime at your own convenience! Check out their website for more information. I have the Premium Plus subscription which is $19.95 every three months. I think this is about how much you will spend for just one month on a cable subscription. I like now! service better because it's on-demand. It is so convenient. I can watch a whole week's worth of episodes from my favorite TV series in just one day. No ads, too. I give it a 4 out of 5 because you can only watch all the shows from one computer (where you download the license to). Also, you need a DSL or broadband internet connection to completely enjoy the shows. Their customer service is outstanding. I get an instant reply everytime I contact Customer Support. Highly recommended. I will stick to it even if TFC becomes available in our area. Or at least until its still cheaper.

I'm also on all the usual national do not call lists, but you know how it is. You get the calls anyway. Last night they called at 10:39pm, 11:25pm, and again at 11:26pm. I've now blocked them. Maybe they have a good service. I don't know, but they have poor business practices.

I first got TFC a few years ago when Wowowee was still on. What is Wowowee? Wowowee is a cross…read morebetween a game show, a soap opera, and Benny Hill!! I mean, literally, it was a game show that had hot co-hosts and hot dancers, and gave away money to all the needy people in the Philippines while having fun doing it. Another great show is ASAP, which is basically the top actors in the Philippines performing in song and dance numbers. Things not usually seen here in the US. They also have some great "teleseryes" or mini soap operas. I say mini because they usually only last a few months and not years like the ones in the US. While I have never lived in the Philippines, this TV station helps me stay current of what is going on in the motherland. I lived a lot of my life not knowing what happens thousands of miles away. I blame my ignorance for that. Why i don't pretend to think that these shows show the current strife in the Philippines, at least I do stay a little current with happenings with some of the other shows. Also, 5 stars because when I have this, the parents come over more and take care of the kids! Shoot, that's almost 10 stars!!!

The advertising and disruption to its programs is annoying. If you compare them with the two stations, you'll see how TFC bleed its customers and treat us like diehard slaves. It needs to be regulated cause their advertising is too much while they also charge about $15 plus dollars for accessing this channel. Direct TV makes it worse by packaging it with GMA instead of allowing us to choose only what we want. Ridiculous! It's a SHAME that DirectTV is configured to partake in a cartel-like system where customers have NO CHOICE in freely selecting the channels that benefits them, looks like communism, to most of us!

KCSM is again in the midst of a fund drive. I am no longer volunteering, having 'aged out' of the…read moredrive from El Cerrito to San Mateo. Things at the station have both returned to pre-pandemic normal and radically changed/improved w/ the advent six months or so ago of a stellar new station manager, Dr. Robert Franklin. I haven't met Dr. Franklin, but I've heard him on the air w/ Leslie Stoval during pledge drives and love how respectfully and deferentially he treats her. Though I tend to be change averse, I like the changes he's made, w/ the addition of public affairs programming on Sunday mornings. I'm asleep when they air, for the most part, but they're music related and socially conscious. I sometimes listen to them via the Spinatron archive, particularly when I want to avoid listening to "Juke in the Back", which I detest. "Matt the Cat" reminds me of the rock n roll DJs of my youth, not a good thing, and the female announcer who does the intros and outros is just plain annoying w/ her pseudo sexuality. I don't love all programs, but I love most; and the ones I don't enjoy, I know others do. Jackson W. names his favorite announcers in his review and while I love them all, Sonny Buxton and Lee Thomas are at the top of my list. I also enjoy when Akira Tana fills in, as his pleasure in exploring the music library is so palpable. I like having Jayne Sanchez back filling in and the addition of Rachelle Rabin. Maria Marquez' "Desde la Bahia" program is a joy and of course I love Kathleen Lawton and Michael Burman. I miss Jayn Pettingill in the afternoons, although sometimes I'm up early enough to hear her the mornings she's on. Not often enough but that's what my retirement is like. I miss Melanie Berzon and Alisa Clancy, who left under the aegis of the previous station manager and have moved on to other things. I enjoy Chris Cortez as a middle aged man of 53, having heard him on the air since his 20s. I have heard about his children's births and even had the pleasure of meeting his charming family at Melanie's retirement concert at Freight & Salvage. Dr. Franklin has reinstituted student training and I look forward to more on-air talent development. I prefer live shows to prerecorded ones and hope the new students will someday expand the live programming. The point of this update is to call on other jazz lovers to contribute to the station. It needs our support. I'm one who enjoys the pledge drive pairings of the announcers, listening to their conversations about music, stories and their differing styles of creating sets. As a recent listener/member said, "Come for the music, stay for the stories.". That encapsulates my experience beautifully. So pass this on to everyone you know who loves jazz, whether they live here in the Bay Area, across the country or around the world.
