Maybe it was the bouncer.. but he was so rude and lectured our group about how he doesn't like when people suggest seating, for literally 5 minutes. We all stood there shocked and uncomfortable. Really bummed about this place. We wanted to eat near Fenway so we went into the bar and saw the awesome view of the field. Sat down and waited for at least 20 minutes while the waiter help everyone around us. I asked the bartender and she said we had to get help from the waiter. I finally flagged him down and he took our drink order. This place was PACKED, to be expected. It has that iconic view of the field and plenty of standing room that fills up quick. We did get semi speedy service for a full bar, for the beers we got. We waited for out table, wait wasn't bad at all. But then the food service was so slow we ended up getting only an app and then leaving to get into the game. I understand being busy but the tables around us got sat after us, their drinks and food before we had ordered our apps. My friends and I stopped in here one afternoon on a non game day. It's a really cool concept and even without a game, it's fun drinking and looking out over the field. It's got a hole in the wall vibe with your typical bar drinks, nothing too fancy but beware of the window up above the bar to the right. After what felt like a few awkward eye contact moments with men staring down out the window, we went to investigate and discovered it was the men's bathroom. They are able to look out the window at the field while they are peeing. I was horrified, disgusted but couldn't stop laughing about it, it was a roller coaster of emotions. If you arrive early for a Sox game then head over to the Bleacher Bar for a unique perspective of Friendly Fenway Pahk. This cozy bar is located under the bleachers on Landsdowne St. What makes it special is the unique view. With the garage door open you can view the park from the outfield which is similar to the scoreboard keepers' view under the green monstah. Toward game time good luck getting in and seeing this unique view. We went early and scored standing room with a great view. They do have a full bar, local beers, and food. This is one of the coolest and most unique bars I have ever been to! The bar entrance in just outside Fenway Park Gate C and the whole place is underneath the bleachers in the outfield. They even have an opening that lets you see straight into the outfield of the stadium. We were there maybe an hour before game time and while it was crowded, we were served in less than 5 minutes. They had plenty of staff behind the bar. My husband got a beer on tap from their fairly extensive list of options and I got a mixed drink. How can you not love this place? I mean look at that view! Best time is to go before (or during if you don't want tickets!) a Red Sox game. We got lucky and the sun started shining in after a cloudy day. The only thing that is a little disappointing, but understandable, is that they have to lower the garage door during the game which makes it difficult to see through the windows. I really didn't expect excellent service at a bar outside of Fenway on a game day, but I was wrong. The service at Bleacher Bar was A++. I put our name in and the hostess estimated 25 min. Apparently they buzzed my cell phone 5 min later, and I completely missed it. I checked my phone at about the 15 min mark and realized I had missed their text. I went up to the front and explained what happened. The hostess would have been right if she had told me too late and to hit the bricks. She didn't. She worked her magic and still sat us. As you might imagine, it's pretty tight inside and the battle for the bartender's attention is serious. Good bar though and some good variety. Their bouncers are scammers trying to get bribes to let people in!!! I tried to get on a packed night and I was kicked out of line for being too intoxicated when I had maybe 2 drinks. After getting back in line and reaching the front the bouncer proceeded to use me as an example saying this person is clearly sober to another group of people who had their friend kicked out of line for being "too intoxicated". I came here when walking around Fenway. The bleacher bar has a history as being an old batting cage of Fenway Park. You can now enjoy a beer here while peeking into center field. I'll start by saying that I'm only giving this 4 stars and bit 5 stars because we didn't eat. We will definitely go back and try the food next time we are in Boston. Something comical, when the guys go to the bathroom you look out as you're standing at the urinal and you're looking through what you would assume would be a two way Mirror type thing, but it's not lol. My heart goes out to the many struggling establishments who had to close their doors during this time. But I'm grateful Bleacher Bar is making it work. Next, I just love the casual atmosphere. Nothing stuffy in this nostalgic little nook. Descending into the dining area is a bit like drifting down into a dimly lit dream. As for libations their list isn't especially long, but they have a few charming choices to choose from. And if brews arent your ballgame, they have a few mixed machinations to make mug smile.
