We had an awesome experience!! The owner was the one who helped us and he was fabulous. He went above and beyond to make our dining in the best it could be. This restaurant also offers LOTS of gluten free items and sauces. They even make some Chinese dishes gluten free (not part of the Mongolian BBQ options in a bowl). I have a friend who is always raving about this place and telling me to go check it out. I hardly ever come to this side of town, but with yesterday being my birthday my friend invited me out to try it today. Located in a shopping center across from Metro Center (across from Harkins) Blazin sits. To me I never would've noticed it there without my friend. There's so many closed down stores near by. However with that being said this place was crazy busy and seems very popular with office workers, shoppers and families near by. It's not your typical restaurant where you sit and look over the menu. Once inside the menu is above you. You pay upfront according to bowl size you'd like, drinks, egg rolls etc. From there it's a bit like a buffet set up where you choose your types of meat ( frozen to keep down germs and cut into thin stir fry style), huge variety of veggies to choose from, options of noodles. I recommend smashing down the meat as much as possible to get your moneys worth of food. When at the end you can top with whatever sauces/flavor you'd like. I chose a few sauces, including their spicy Thai sauce. At the end of the line after your bowl is filled you give to an employee who dumps it on a huge hot stove where it is cooked right in front of you. It was pretty cool to watch actually. The kids enjoyed watching it. From there there is also a station with smaller bowls with options of rice or tofu and some yummy chicken broth. Drinks are from a soda fountain with free refills. I ordered us some eggs rolls as well which were brought to the table and so so good. The dipping sauce they came with was awesome and had quite a kick. I can see where people say the price was a bit high, but in reality quite cheap for the amount of food you're getting. We left so full and happy. The owner was out and helping take orders, cleaning tables and so friendly. The restaurant was very clean and every time someone left the tables were cleaned instantly. The place is the definition of a place when you walk by but aren't sure if you want to go inside because maybe it doesn't seem appeasing to you or maybe not the type of food that you are usually Interested in but as soon as you go inside and create a plate of whatever you want, and whatever seasoning you want is the best thing ever! The food portion is what ever you make it! I always have left overs and besides that being so exciting! The food is AMAZING, I love that they cook it Infront of you and it's done so fast. I miss this place so much! My son and I have been going to Blazin weekly for the past 4 years. I discovered Blazin 5 years ago when a friend and I were hungry after shopping at the metro mall. We walked in brand new and the owner walked us through every step of what to do and how to do it. I was hooked! The food is so good the choices are amazing. Everything is missed like a family member that has moved away and didn't tell anyone. Covid is the worst! I hope Blazin can reopen soon. We have been back multiple times. I'm sticking to 3 stars. I'm a HUGE fan of Mongolian BBQ and this satisfies my cravings. No it's not the best and yes it's a tad pricey, but overall it's worth the experience and money. Tip to the owner: make suggestion cards for customer for what sauces to use etc. There's only 3 and it would be so much more helpful for all the non creative cooks, like me, if there were more. I have always loved Mongolian BBQ. I can pick my own ingredients and spice it up just the way I want it. Unfortunately there is no such venue where we currently live. Although one will open up soon. So when we were visiting dear friends in the PHX area, I searched Yelp and found this. So we gave it a try. Since the prices are super cheap, I chose the all you can eat option. Just in case I would not like my concoction, so I could try again. I ended up not needing to do this. Despite the sign: one bowl only, I took two, the second as an instrument to squish down especially the meat since it is frozen and rolled. The variety of potential ingredients was large and everything looked fresh. The result tasted really good. The reason I did not give this place 5 stars: the ambiance could be a lot nicer. Maybe some kitschy Asian decor or some nice tables and chairs. It felt more like eating at a McD's. The rice and soup station had not been replenished and I got the dregs of the fried rice. Also no beer or wine. But overall is was very happy and would definitely return. read more

Healthy, fast, and reasonably priced - I can't think of one good reason why you shouldn't come and nom your face off here. I normally drink iced tea with my meals and I carry Truvia and Splenda in my purse because I like Truvia and my husband likes Splenda. Today, while eating here the owner, Ed, walked by and noticed my personal packet of the sweeteners and let us know that he has Stevia, Splenda and Sweet & Low near the beverage machines. He said that he noticed quite a few people were bringing in their own so he decided to supply it for his customers. Now that is an observant and caring business owner! We love the changes he has made to the restaurant and the food since buying the place . Oh, and we were surprised to see 4 different colors of sliced carrots w/varying flavors available! Stopped for the first time today. This place is very good, it's too bad there aren't 1/2 stars available. It's very clean inside, well taken care of and most of all no nasty odors that some Mongolian grills have. Everything in the line was fresh and the counter was kept clean. Small selection of meats but large selection of vegetables. The selection of sauces is small too but was good for us. I like lime juice and hotter asian oil, I found the chili paste later at the condiment bar. My wife would have preferred that the peanuts be chopped. They had two soups and three types of rice. I had the egg drop which wasn't the traditional style but very good. We both had the brown rice, they also have a soft serve machine but we were full and didnt try it although other people were getting it. It was fairly obvious to us they have many regulars. We're only in the area for 2-weels but we'll come back at least once more. P.S. We both used the restroom both are super clean and no odors. read more

It has quite a bit of meat selection,fresh toppings and sauces. HOWEVER, what ruins what could be very good food is that once they start cooking your food it's flooded with water!!! There's no oils and there's is no browning to your dish. BECAUSE of this cooking you end up with soupy/stew like dishes because everything boils. It's sad. We really enjoy Mongolian and decided to give this place a shot. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere. The food was fresh and there were a lot of choices. The only real issue was how salty the meal was. I know what you are going to say...You chose the sauces to out on it, so it's your fault! After working next door to this location for quite some time, it's become highly apparent that Mongolian food is an absolute staple for this shopping center. With the opening of Blazin I was happy to see how much they stepped up their game compared to yc's, especially with their sanitation measures. Yc's was alright but I would constantly have customers complaining about how dry their food would come out. I honestly believe they just became too comfortable and let the quality diminish to the point of aggravating customers. After my first visit to Blazin I'm proud to say that when I got home with my food, it blew my expectations out of the water! The food here is absolutely amazing! You get so much for the price of the lunch special. I'm definitely glad that we decided to try it! Not only was the food amazing but the service was impeccable!! Anahi took me and my boyfriend through the entire line, showing us how much to use and how to do everything right. This restaurant could have 5 stars, except for one flaw. They make you pay .50 per take out box. They don't even have an eco friendly option box that you could buy one time and bring every time you come back. Now I'm a vegan and they have great vegan options that are labeled, but I also care deeply about the environment and so I bring my own glass Tupperware and I was told I can not do that because I have to buy their take out carriers every time I come. Very greedy and not conscious of the environment at all. I attached a photo of the Tupperware I brought. There is no harm in bringing your own Tupperware that clearly is empty and just to take leftovers (on the items that allow you to take your left overs), the only reason is greed. read more

The food was decent, but the restaurant wasn't very clean, especially in the ladies room. You can tell this restaurant is just surfaced cleaned, based on the collection of yuck on the baseboards. That kind of attention to detail makes you wonder what the kitchen prep area looks like. Also, you have to pay before the meal, but they charge extra for boxes. They charge $0.50 for a box, but they don't ask how many you want at the time of purchase. Then if you want one after the meal, there's a minimum charge to use a credit card. Hmmm. You just lost a possible repeat customer over $0.50. And you already only had 3 customers in your entire restaurant. Makes sense why. Updated: I think it's also worth mentioning that the service was pretty lousy also, but apparently that's encouraged based on the manager's comment. I couldn't even get to the beverage station because three female employees were standing around chit chatting. And yes, rude manager, I would really like the opportunity to use my card how I see fit and if that means swiping it for a $0.50 charge because you're too cheap to allow a single box for a first time customer's 5-year old child's meal, then so be it. read more

Let me specify ! I don't really write reviews so let me make sure i make myself clear. I have only been to this establishment once as of today and my boyfriend is visiting from california with this being the first thing we had eaten today. Keep in mind we know our bodies and we know what it tolerates. Upon entering the establishment we were greeted and instructed on how there buffet was ran. We paid 33.68$ the price for was affordable for Mongolian Bbq . I only live 9min away so we decide to take the food home. Starving We ate immediately . Had totally forgotten about it so I came back to check it and noticed the owners edit, didn't surprise me as he threatened to delete it for being a false review. Yikes! I did notify your staff, the one that greeted us at the front where you pay. I even went on to tell her that the reviews regarding being "gluten friendly" is what drove us there. She went on to tell me that things were labeled which I found extremely helpful. Once we got our food cooked, one of my kids went to grab GF soy sauce and there wasn't any, he asked the same lady in the front for some and she gave it to him. When we were done she told me she didn't know my daughter was the one with the sensitivity, I had to correct her that he is not my daughter he is my son and that I was the one with Celiac not him. I loved it, I got the all you can eat but next time I'll probably only do the one bowl as I became mostly full after the first round and did not want to trouble the cook to cook a small portion. I'm from the bay area, the quality was on par with what I've tasted. The only thing I would upgrade would probably be the interior. The interior was old as in the type of furniture wasnt modern but resembled that of the 90's Its a great place for family and friends. They have tvs and ice cream as well. Lupe helped us from the start and was so very helpful. She made me and my wife feel like family. She immediately offered to help walk us through each step of the way because she wanted to make sure we really enjoyed our first experience there. She shared why that was important to her and kept on guiding my wife and I on each step to make our plate the style we would she recommended based on a description we had given. Overall definitely one of the nicest attendees that has ever helped us. She came to check on how the food was after and we even had some laughs with her supervisor on the way out. Have been here twice now. Hubby enjoys it a lot, especially the bottomless Warrior bowl. The last time I was here my bowl was very spicy and I didn't add anything spicy to my bowl.
