Great tasting coffee, love the lavender latte and has excellent service, would highly recommend

The only place I've found in Ohio so far that has lavender syrup to add as a flavoring to your coffee. It's subtle, sweet and not an overpowering floral kind that tastes perfume-y. I had the lavender latte of course, it tasted as dreamy as it smelled. Yum. My mom had the cardamom mocha and she loved it. The bus is in an old carwash stall and has some seating out front to enjoy there. Pretty cool place. Take a look around at the art and a few stalls down there was even a "take a plant, leave a plant" section. Same concept as a free little library. read more

This is a cute little coffee truck across from the Plant Library in Gahanna. Very friendly guy with iced and hot drinks. You can order online or at the rear of the truck. There was a sign that mentioned events, so I believe you can also rent this truck out for an event if you'd like. I recommend stopping by and then checking out the Plant Library and murals across the street. Enjoy! read more

I wanted to like this place. I really did. My friends recommended it and I drove past it one night while driving through Gahanna and told myself I'll come back soon to give it a try since exploring new coffee shops is something I love to do. So coffee shop annnnnd an Airstream? Yes please! That excitement soon diminished however as soon as I pulled into the parking lot. The first thing I noticed was that the Airstream is gone and is now replaced by a silver food truck that definitely has seen better days. I'm a big fan of old school rugged style, but I don't know, this just seemed to make me question what I was drinking versus thinking "that's right, I got coffee out of a camper." When I walked up to the back of the van, there was a table with a jar for tips and stir sticks. After standing by the back for a short moment, the window of the van opened and a man was sitting inside. No greeting was given and there was almost and awkward stare at each other. I then asked if they were open (you would see why that was a question when you drive up) and at first I received no reply but a continued stare. I asked again, and I got a yes as an answer. I then realized there was no menu in sight. So after being asked what I wanted to order, I then had to ask for a menu. I was given an old laminated piece of paper with stains all over it. Definitely what I want to see when I'm about to order something...and when something clearly wasn't cleaned that others handle when Covid is running around, just not something I want to use. I ordered a vanilla spice late and my friend ordered a cappuccino. I hate to say it, but my drink was one of the worst coffee drinks I've had. There was no spice, hardly any vanilla, and the coffee was so bitter, I couldn't tolerate drinking the rest! And that's saying something because I'm not one to waste food or drinks. The cappuccino hardly had foam from what my friend told me, and I was told it was a struggle to get down. I go to a lot of coffee shops. At least 3 a week. And have been to a variety of them around the country, and as sad as it is, this has to rank in my bottom 5. The barista did wear a mask which was good, and when he handed me my coffee he was pleasant and told me to have a good day. So I do want to state that. I have yet to try the coffee shop about three places down, (plan on doing that this week). But when I walked by, I now see why they were packed full of people while we were the only ones in line at Blank Slate. read more

This is a 1971 sir stream converted to a coffee shop. It's small but there are seats and a table on which you can write. I got a lavender latte. There are bagels and apple fritters if you want something to eat. There is a meeting space in a building behind the air stream which can be rented for events. I met the owner, who is an artist. I love this space and can see renting out the meeting space for a book signing!! read more

Honestly, not the biggest fan. We love supporting small businesses, but compared to Upper Cup right beside it, it's not as good. We ordered the equivalent of what we get at Upper Cup: an Americano and an Iced Caramel Latte. Neither was as good and it was more expensive. I can't even advocate for the parking or the atmosphere. Parking is difficult and there isn't an atmosphere. If you want to try something new and are passing through, feel free. It's not a place we feel the desire to visit again. read more

Such a cool coffee experience, and really good coffee. I visited on a winter Saturday morning shortly after they opened up. I was attracted to Blank Slate Coffee because of the Air Stream trailer. The Air Stream can get crowded with just three people inside but Blank Slate has an indoor art space for indoor seating. It's a just a cool place that needs to be experienced. Their coffee is excellent so I'm sure you'll go back again and again if you're local, unlike me who lives too far away. They use top notch professional coffee equipment, like a La Marzocco espresso machine and a Fetco brewer. Blank Slate serves and sells local coffee from Mission Coffee Roaster. The barista that served me took time to answer all my curious questions about coffee, coffee equipment, and serving coffee, which was very helpful. Perfect place for coffee during these times. I was able to order online for pickup, we walked up and drinks were handed out the window. Barista was very friendly and it was nice to stand (socially distant) outside and smell the coffee. I tried the lavender latte with soy and highly recommend giving it a try. My SO had the chai latte and it was also delicious. My next visit I plan to try the vanilla spice latte! read more

Gahanna has a surprising little cluster of coffee places, which I wish were a bit closer to us. Upper Cup, Koko, and Blank Slate, within a block or so. We're fans of all, but usually end up at Koko for the pastries (and occasionally the tea-house experience, especially with friends and family.) I've seen Blank Slate dozens of times, but it's never open when I come by. Finally made it today. First, drive-through, which is handy. Second, supercool Airstream. Two big plusses. There is actually a tiny seating area inside, and the trailer, though stripped and refurbished, is still cool inside too. Service is good. Prices are reasonable. The menu is small, but who needs all the options- you want caffeine, and maybe sugar. We got a couple to go, a salted caramel latte (very good, very balanced flavors) and a caramel macchiato (which Sweetie did not want to put down.) The drive-through approach is odd- go right in front of the trailer, left through the old carwash, and around- follow the arrows. Worth a detour, handy if you're at all nearby, and unique, if only for the atmosphere, again, inside and out. read more

Got the chocolate cold brew and the lavender latte. YUM. The cold brew came with milk which I wasn't expecting, but it was absolutely amazing. I had the lavender latte done with soy at the last second and didn't get an up charge either. The drinks were both sweetened which I wasn't sure expecting, but they weren't overdone and still delicious. I'll definitely be coming back to try some of their other drinks! read more

Really cute place. Coffee is served out of a vintage Airstream. As I love all things retro had to go check it out. It's gets 4 stars because of the artistry put into the business concept and location. I just got a basic coffee with almond milk, nothing too fancy. It sets on a lot in front of an old car wash that artist have painted all over. There is also a little chill spot/gallery inside where the car wash "lobby" would have been and u can take your coffee in and and access free wifi. I didn't go in but deff seemed like a cute spot to meet up and talk friend or business stuff :) Sits in cute downtown Gahanna. read more

Cute little shop in Gahanna! Their coffee is Mission Coffee, which I'm honestly not the biggest fan of. But it was pretty good! I got a lavender iced latte, it was a little more flowery than I prefer. My friend got a chocolate iced latte and it tasted like straight up chocolate milk with espresso, it was delicious! The space is definitely different which makes it fun but there is no seating. There's a little table with two chairs outside. So you pretty much have to take it to-go. Which is fine. I won't go on a regular basis, but I would definitely take people there to give them a unique experience. read more

We were in Columbus for the weekend and looking for coffee on a Sunday morning. We like finding locally owned coffee shops when away on a trip before settling for Starbucks or some other national chain. We saw coffee served out of an old Airstream. Who wouldn't want to try that. The experience was ok but nothing exceptional or out of the ordinary. Didn't see anything displayed to eat and since we only wanted coffee and not some fancy latte The was only one brew available. Sort of disappointing. I don't like to write critical or bad reviews, but I want these people to step up their game. Coffee out of and airstream is such a cool idea. You guys can do better. You have a cool concept. I don't know their situation but I want them to wow me next time. I'm rooting for you!!! read more

Such a fun and unique coffee "shop." They run the whole operation out of a renovated airstream, could it be any cooler?! They serve coffee roasted by Mission Coffee Co which is awesome. The owner of Blank Slate has been there every time I've visited and has been chatty and friendly. Our first visit to Blank Slate Coffee. My husband had a cappuccino and I had a lavender tea latte. Both were really good. The only negative is they didn't have anything but and apple fritter(which was not fresh). But if you want a great cup of coffee...awesome place to stop. read more

Just tried Blank Slate and I wish I had done it sooner. I've always complained there is no good coffee in Gahanna - but this place has ended that! It's in an Airstream in a parking lot but don't let hst fool you. Solid coffee. There's even a drive through and some seating inside! I'm making this a new staple. read more

What a cute little place this is. They've taken an old airstream style camper and converted it into a drive-thru coffee bar. You pull right up to one of the original windows to order and pay. I'd been trying to budget enough time to stop on my way to work for ages. When I finally stopped, I wasn't disappointed. The plain, regular drip coffee I ordered was surprisingly good. I usually don't care for the drip stuff (French Press for this girl) but whatever coffee they are using manages to maintain that flavor despite running through the machine. I really, really appreciate that when I'm in a hurry. I also got a chocolate chip cappuccino muffin. This was really tasty too. Like, thinking about it right now kinda makes me want another one. And, bonus, it was cheap too! You don't usually get such a good experience for such an affordable price. Fingers crossed I'll be able to get out of my house early more often so I can stop by. read more

Love this place! Perfect stop before work. I stopped in this morning when it was very rainy and gross outside but I was so refreshed by stepping into the airstream and getting some AMAZING coffee. I got the lavender latte which I had been eyeing from looking at the menu online, and they said is one of their popular drinks. It was DELICIOUS. Not too sweet and just enough flavor. The people here are very nice and the idea is so cute but the coffee was a miss for us. The milk was over steamed and the espresso was a little bitter. I always order a cappuccino so that is the drink I'm reviewing. I did purchase a bag of beans and they were nice in my home espresso machine. read more

A converted airstream trailer that is a now a fun place to get coffee. Right off of Mill street. There is seating for three although not sure anyone really stays. "Everyday is a blank slate...make the most of it". Try the holiday spice latte, it is excellent. read more
