Local coffee shop! Great atmosphere with various seating areas. Parking lot can get filled up during busy times. Best frozen hot chocolate and they will even put sprinkles on it for the kids. They do have some sandwiches, desserts and bagels but I have not tried them. Even when the line is longer it still moves pretty quick! read more

About the worst coffee place I've ever been to. Looked super cute and cozy so I had high hopes boy was I wrong. My husband and I both ordered a latte and the lady put it down saying what it was and that it was mine and I was like surely not, that can't be mine. Sadly it was. If you like milk with a teaspoon of espresso you're at the right place. My husband's came out looking like they mixed his caramel syrup with just the milk and served it. Sure enough it tasted like it. I asked can I get some more espresso with this because this is just straight milk and the girl looked so confused, went to the back and asked what should I do? Like what?? Put more espresso in it to make it a latte not a milk with flavor. Then I also ordered a breakfast sandwich that I was hoping would make up for it. WRONG. The egg tasted like plastic I had my husband try it and he usually eats anything, he couldn't even stomach it. Such a disappointment and waste of money. I love this place! The staff are always super nice and explain what all is in the drinks if you ask (they have so many). I love how they have a lot of choices or will make any combination you choose. They do have a different drink of the month each month, which is nice. I get an extra shot of espresso in mine just because I like my coffee strong. It does get busy sometimes and the parking lot is not very big so hard to park sometimes but worth it. read more

Hot Spot is a surprise in Johnstown. I thought you could only get coffee here at McDonald's. Thankfully you can get something that doesn't taste like hot water. Prices are good. Service is pleasant. I had a latte with coconut milk. It's about $3.50 for a medium. The latte was really creamy and smooth. It's usually pretty quiet inside. There's not many people like there are in Columbus, so you can enjoy it more without s bunch of people working on their laptops. It overall is pretty good. It closes earlier than coffee shops in the big city. This is expected since there's not much reason to be around there. read more

I tried a smoothie but was not impressed with how sweet it was and how fast it melted. So I won't be trying that again. But I was able to study for about an hour before close and liked the ambience. The smoothies are disgusting and made with syrup and taste like straight up chemicals, but the coffees and frozen coffees are really good, my favorite is the frozen turtle mocha. There is a large room in the back that is great for gathering groups of people. read more

We went to Hot Spot for the first time today. The baristas/workers were very friendly and helpful. The place itself was pretty open, yet still felt intimate and like a chill coffee house vibe. I feel like this would be a good place to read, work, or just hang out. We got drinks, not food. They have a wide variety of flavors, with drinks from lattes, mochas, teas, frozen drinks, to cold brew, etc. and you can basically make any drink you want. We will definitely keep Hot Spot in mind for our future coffee dates/runs. read more

Hot Spot has seen many improvements since the new owner took over. The staff is super friendly and it's always a good time.

I try to stop in here once every week or two. The owner and staff are so friendly and personable. They make me feel very welcome. Usually I just grab my iced hot spot mocha (chocolate and carmel, mmm) to go, but occasionally I've sat in there with my laptop or a book. I love the atmosphere and wish I had time to relax in there more often. The building itself has a lot of character and again, the place just feels so friendly. I've never had a bad drink in the place. My wife enjoys the frozen hot chocolate, and I usually go with the hot spot mocha. You can get any of the specialty drinks hot, over ice, or frozen. All are fantastic, it just depends on the time of year for me. I highly recommend you drop in here from time to time, grab a drink, bring a book, and just relax for a bit. read more

I got my iced Vanilla latte to go, but there are nice seating options available and it feels like this would be a nice place to visit or relax with a tasty beverage. My latte was delicious. I really like so much about this place. They are always friendly, I LOVE the atmosphere, and the prices are reasonable. My kids like it and it is a good atmosphere for both adults ad children, which is a big plus for me. This place is HUGE and has several rooms. It's an ideal place for groups from 2-8 to meet. They have so many seating options. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they serve Crimson cup drinks. There are lots of places who serve their coffee and I'm just not into it. I always order 1 of 3 things when I order from a coffee shop; black coffee, americano, black cold brew. So the taste of the actual espresso is a big deal for me. Crimson cup is kind of bitter. Its drinkable, but it's not great by any means. Still, I very much enjoy this place and frequent it because it's a nice hometown place just down the road from my home. I appreciate businesses like this in Johnstown. read more

I always get a frozen vanilla latte with soy milk and it's DELICIOUS. I usually drink my coffee black, but I have a weakness for anything caffeinated that tastes like a milkshake. I go to Hot Spot a couple times a week out of convenience, but I absolutely love the atmosphere. It's in a house and all the rooms are filled with couches and tables and the vibe is totally homey. The baristas know my order and as soon as I walk in, they ask if I want my usual. Sometimes I surprise them. But they are all super sweet and attentive and I love coming here! Baristas are great, community meh. But there are few baristas who tend to be a little lackadaisical about working. Which I totally get, but when I'm spending almost 25 dollars for coffee I expect at least subpar coffee and experience. The last 4 times I went there, there seemed to be one or two baristas who would purposely give me crappy coffee. I got 4 iced coffees once with each coffee getting 3 cubes. Needless to say, the baristas know who they are: they would prefer to be off work and hanging with their 'buddies'. Which is cool but I think this place needs to start hiring more mature management and staff. Just because they go to school within the district doesn't mean hire every single 17 year old while having one person who is barely over 30 watching all the children do piss poor work. read more

This place is not what it used to be. Staff is rude. We were in there well before closing time in 15 minutes. The person working told us that she would not wait on us because she wanted to close on time. She could have waited on us in the time she took to make that speech and still closed on time. I have historically enjoyed the coffee and experience here. I recently moved back to the area and just went in and the girls were texting and chatting in the back. I positioned myself so they could see me yet stood there for several minutes before they saw me. When they came up, they just stared. No hi, no how can I help you, just nasty stares like I was an idiot for not talking when I was awaiting a greeting, which use to be standard in our world. They were the rudest and most stand-offish people I've encountered since moving back. Their faces were contemptuous and witchy and their responses short and embittered. My girlfriend and are were appalled how terrible these girls acted, and all we ordered was black cold brew, that they then asked if we wanted cream in. So they also don't listen. When we got the coffee, it was almost pure water with very little ice in it even though I did I wanted a lot of ice. It barely even tasted like coffee. It was so terrible we threw it away. Ten dollars and what we thought would be a nice morning drive to a local coffee shop wasted and ruined by terrible hags and Crimson Cup should be embarrassed to have their name associated with this. read more
