Local coffee shop! Great atmosphere with various seating areas. Parking lot can get filled up during busy times. Best frozen hot chocolate and they will even put sprinkles on it for the kids. They do have some sandwiches, desserts and bagels but I have not tried them. Even when the line is longer it still moves pretty quick!

About the worst coffee place I've ever been to. Looked super cute and cozy so I had high hopes boy was I wrong. My husband and I both ordered a latte and the lady put it down saying what it was and that it was mine and I was like surely not, that can't be mine. Sadly it was. If you like milk with a teaspoon of espresso you're at the right place. My husband's came out looking like they mixed his caramel syrup with just the milk and served it. Sure enough it tasted like it. I asked can I get some more espresso with this because this is just straight milk and the girl looked so confused, went to the back and asked what should I do? Like what?? Put more espresso in it to make it a latte not a milk with flavor. Then I also ordered a breakfast sandwich that I was hoping would make up for it. WRONG. The egg tasted like plastic I had my husband try it and he usually eats anything, he couldn't even stomach it. Such a disappointment and waste of money. They're so expensive so you expect good quality product. Nope. If you want to waste your money on flavored milk and plastic food you are in the right place.

Just what I was looking for on my drive through Johnstown to Gambier! Cute shop situated on the main thoroughfare. Wheelchair accessible main entrance around back. Order at the counter, then various seating areas are available in rooms of the house-converted-to-shop setting. Service was fast, price point was good, coffee cake and chai were very tasty!

Hot Spot is a surprise in Johnstown. I thought you could only get coffee here at McDonald's. Thankfully you can get something that doesn't taste like hot water. Prices are good. Service is pleasant. I had a latte with coconut milk. It's about $3.50 for a medium. The latte was really creamy and smooth. It's usually pretty quiet inside. There's not many people like there are in Columbus, so you can enjoy it more without s bunch of people working on their laptops. It overall is pretty good. It closes earlier than coffee shops in the big city. This is expected since there's not much reason to be around there.

This is the sign out front, parking is out in the back.

Cute shop with a good amount of space to set up for studying! Baristas we're very helpful in answering questions. I tried a smoothie but was not impressed with how sweet it was and how fast it melted. So I won't be trying that again. But I was able to study for about an hour before close and liked the ambience. (It was not super quiet since there were a lot of school grade kids in after they got out of school.)

My 6 year old and I were riding bicycles through Alexandria (I have lived in Alexandria for 21 years) and stopped at "The Coffee Vault". We bought one cookie for the 6 year old and asked for 2 glasses of water. Was told the water was $1.00 a glass (no free water). When I received my bill it was $1.25 per glass for the water and $7.00 for the single cookie! The bill total was $10.18 ! When the water up charge was brought to the cashier's attention (she charged us for 24 oz. of water instead of 16oz.) she gave us back 50 cents in cash. There was a non-friendly and non-helpful vibe coming from her and I did feel that there should be a charge for water, especially since we bought a $7.00 cookie. $10.18 for one cookie and 2 glasses of water is ridiculous. The cookie was plastic sealed and literally non edible by a 6 year old or myself. We ate at the previous coffee shop called "Ragamuffins" frequently before it was sold to "The coffee vault". Ragamuffins prices were always priced competitively and fair, their food was excellent, their staff friendly and "small townish". So sad that coffee vault moved into Alexandria. I do not usually review restaurants but everything about this restaurant was disappointing.

All tables were full. There is nothing that is worse in service than making people not feel welcome when you walk into an establishment. I don't need much. A hello, an acknowledgement, a welcome, sorry we'll be with you shortly....None of that. We stood awkwardly at the front of the restaurant half inside the doorway behind another family. The other family nor our family were not acknowledge for about 15 minutes. I tried to make eye contact and kind of nod at some of the wait staff and people behind the counter to make sure they understood we would like a table, but they flat-out ignored us. As if we didn't exist and they didn't want us there. It was kind of sad, really. The other family that was waiting eventually left after a while of realizing we may not be seated and we were not welcome. After about those 15 minutes, three tables of people finished at the same time. The waitress came over and said we could sit in a booth wherever. Yes, kind of like that. Sit wherever. It was clear they didn't want us there. We were inconveniencing them. Getting our waters and ordering our food was fairly straightforward, but the same vibes: not friendly nor welcoming. We waited longer at the table than I would've expected for waters and ordering, considering we'd now spent 30 min in the building and had hardly been acknowledged, but she did take our order. It was after 11am, so no breakfast options. Hmm, okay I get it I guess. That's fairly common for a diner. My only option as a vegetarian is a grilled cheese and french fries (pictured, after eating half the sandwich, about 12 french fries were included). It tasted good, but it was tiny. It was a kids'-sized portion. I was unsure of how a grown man was supposed to call this a meal. It was cheap enough, but I would've paid a couple more bucks for a larger portion, maybe a full side of french fries? All else was fine. The mood/vibe never changed. We weren't checked on, until we waved her over for more water and our bill. We paid our bill at the counter. I don't think I have high expectations. I just want them to...be okay with us being there? Provide service? (I always leave a tip, but I'm not sure what I was tipping for...) It's no excuse, but maybe they thought we were out of towners? I've lived here for 15 years, but it was definitely giving "you're not our people" type of vibes.

New location, same great service and taste!…read more I have tried donuts in many states and countries and I have yet to find one better than here. Well, if I'm honest there was this Amish stand at a farmers market in Central PA that had outstanding donuts, but they only sold them a few times a year and I have no idea how to find them! This trip, I got the big boy donut, a white icing cake donut, and a pretzel. The big boy donut is a huge glazed donut as big as your head. That's right, you can hold it up to your head and it will be just as large!!! This time, however, they put a twist on them and added icing to a few. I know, sweet on top of a sweet sugary donut seems like overkill, and it was. But come on, anyone willing to eat a donut as big as his head has no problem with something super duper sweet! The other items were equally good, and I liked their new larger location. They even added a few new items since I was last there like donut holes/bites. This place continues to reign as the donut king in my estimation, and the fact that they FINALLY accept credit cards now is a huge win.

The pack of 10 cookies for $9.50 didn't appeal to me so I stuck with donuts. The donuts were delicious. I paid a little over $11 for 5 donuts. The croissant donut was outstanding.
