TLDR: with Michael as my point of contact, between April and August 2022, I was unable to get 2 custom shirts ($95 each), and 1 vest ($155) Timeline / series of events: - April: went in, got fitted for 2 custom dress shirts, paid upfront, and was told it would take about 5 weeks. Plan was for 1st shirt to come, confirm my size and fit, and then they'd make 2nd shirt. - May: email from Michael that they had issues w/ their Shanghai team (that's where the clothes are made) - clothing production delayed until mid-June (estimated). - Some other time in May '22: without my knowledge, my wife added a vest to my order as a surprise. - Late June: 1st shirt arrives, and vest came separately (in error - was supposed to come after confirming my fit). Both items were incredibly small/tight - like spandex. And I'm a slim guy. Michael says they'll redo the shirt from scratch, but that I need to bring in the vest so they can alter in Boston. Here's where things fall apart in July and August: - My wife works in walking distance to their Boston location (the only one left), so planned to drop off the vest herself, instead of going through the mail. - Vest return attempt #1: Michael said she could drop off, "any time after 11am". She goes there at 1pm - no one was there. Michael said, "sorry about that, it's just me today and I was out at our tailor's". IMO, if you tell someone to come in any time after 11am, and you end up leaving, you should let them know. It was a careless mistake, but I let it go. - In parallel, the "1st shirt" arrives for the 2nd time: wrong style (french instead of placket) and again, way too tight. I'm slim, but this shirt makes my stomach look chubby. Michael asks over email if it's supposed to be a dress shirt or casual shirt (regarding tucking-in). Great question... that should have been asked in April. Lucky for him, I'm an educated buyer, so I did intend to buy a custom dress shirt (like the one they are attempting to make). - Vest return attempt #2: I'm losing trust in Michael at this point, so I asked specifically what days and times he will be there the next week, and for a phone number to call in advance to make sure someone is in fact there. He assured me that people would be there until 5:45pm. I called several times at 5pm so my wife could get there before 5:45pm - no one answered the number he gave me. - Vest return attempt #3: Michael emailed: "with enough advanced notice... we'll be good!" and "5pm is a safe bet on Monday". So on that Monday, I emailed at 1:42pm asking if my wife could come in at 3:30pm-ish and called several times again - no response/answer. So, she went there at 5pm (the "safe bet") and again, no one was there (another customer was trying to return something, too). - Note: over several days and several phone calls, no one answered the phone # that Michael gave me. - Vest return attempt #4: By this point, I canceled both shirts - I thought they were not worth the time and effort. I planned one more attempt on the vest (only because my wife got it for me as a gift - so wanted to appreciate it). I emailed Michael: "How about Wed 8/10 or Thu 8/11 at 9am?" He replied: "I'll be here every day at 5:00, Wednesday and Thursday both days until at least 6:00!" - I gave up. It was clear he was incapable of scheduling a simple drop off. I call the phone number 3-4 times in a row, Michael finally picks up. He said if I gave him a specific day and time, he could make it work - I explained I just tried that via email - the "Wed 8/10 or Thu 8/11 at 9am" ask - and he responded with unrelated days and times. Michael agreed to refund me for the two shirts, and refund my wife for the vest before he hung up on me. - Since he hung up, I did confirm refund via email - he confirmed quickly. - I will never go to Blank Label again. - Outside of getting the clothes to fit - the style was OK and quality was below average. - My suggestions: buy from Suitsupply (custom), Club Monaco, Bonobos, Ralph Lauren, Brooks Brothers, etc. - certainly not Blank Label. - Prediction: Blank Label will be out of business by the end of 2023. read more

I ordered a tux from Blank Label in Boston that was supposed to arrive about 1.5 months before my wedding. Around the time that my tux was supposed to arrive, they sent me an email saying that the order would be delayed by over a month -- potentially not arriving in time for my wedding. When I tried to follow up with additional questions, they were unresponsive, and it was impossible to reach them over the phone (despite many calls). I will not be using them again, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone else. read more

After expressing my frustration over the lack of urgency and communication by my specialist, Danielle took over the case and remedied the situation, sort of. I was refunded the cost of the shirt since it didn't make it to the wedding due to misdelivery, and was offered a remake of the shirt as well. Email correspondence was much more frequent, and I was given updates on the delivery status automatically. There was no fault blaming, just a sincere person trying to make things right. It is as though I was dealing with a different company altogether, one that is much more professional. The good and bad thing about BL's customer support is that we are dealing with an actual person, so the quality of service will depend on how he/she handles the situation. Humans are fallible creature so s*** happens, but at the very least, you are dealing with a person. When my shirt arrived the Fabric was not the same quality as in the showroom. The shirt was ill fitting and not being a scrawny hipster the fit was way off. I actually like to be able to move my arms higher than elbow height. Even 14#'s lighter the shirt was still too tight and too short. So if you have the least bit of a bicep forget buying a shirt here. I was told I had to wash the shirt a lot for the fabric to soften. After 12 times through the washing machine it was still a rough polyester feeling shirt. You tell them that the shirt is "fine" because you're just tired of the BS and being taken advantage of and being suckered into the "show" of supporting and shopping small when it's just a store front for shirts made in China and arrive via DHL from China. The shirt is now in the good will box in the Amhriens parking lot. $100 lesson learned! Since I paid with a gift card all I can get is a store credit. Why? When I wouldn't shop here again. read more

Having shopped online with Blank Label for a number of years, it was finally time to try it out in-person. Initially, the place was a little hard to find as it's not ground level, but once you get in, it's a really cool space that they've turned in a showroom. I got measured for a bunch of different items, and ended up leaving with a suit and three new shirts which they have as a basic package. The stylist was very knowledgeable about fit and helped provide some suggestions on what would work well with what I already have. read more

I'd like to start by saying that the product we received is A-OK. It fits well, the quality seems fine, and the fabric is what we expected based on the sample swatches we looked at in-store. No surprises, which is good. Turnaround time was longer than expected, and overall customer service could have been more proactive. Husband needed a tux for an event that was to take place 5 weeks after our appointment at blank label, which we were told was plenty of time... But it ended up really coming down to the wire. We were able to take home the finished tux the day before the event, and this was only because the alterations needed were minimal. We heard nothing for almost an entire month. We only got an update after we sent an inquiry email. After the tux arrived from the manufacturer in China, we scheduled a fitting immediately. Note that the fitting was scheduled for Black Friday. Even though the company was sending *so many promotional emails* about Black Friday, there was only 1 associate working through that entire weekend, and he was unfortunately unavailable. Michael is lovely, and it is totally OK for him to need a day off... but I don't understand why a retailer with such a promotional campaign would have a location function with just one employee. They also, very oddly, do not sell bow ties. I'd go back for shirts and suits in the future, but overall, I just feel like something was lacking about this experience between what the company portrays and how everything comes together. read more

Unclear how others have felt negatively, I got a suit made for interview season and quite frankly it looks and feels great. I worked with Michael and he was very transparent and helpful throughout the process. Suit took about 3.5 weeks to come in. It ultimately needed a minor adjustment which took a day to correct at the tailors. Fits like a glove, love the color/fabric, will likely be getting shirts in the future. Would recommend. Also for those concerned regarding customer service, I had Michael's email and could follow up with him at any point regarding questions. Turnaround time for reply was always well below 12 hrs, in my experience. read more

UPDATE ***they corrected the issue and were very helpful I liked this place at first. Thy are friendly and their customer service was attentive. Their fabric and product quality on their suits is just ok - some buttons come off and the sewing came undone on 2 occasions. Again, customer service was exceptional in that they replaced everything and refunded where appropriate. Recently I went in to buy 9 shirts though and was told I could do 3/$250. I found 8 button downs I liked and wanted to swap in one lower cost polo but was told "the system can't process the polos." I left without buying anything. These places are popping up all over and so ill probably just find a new one. read more

Great made to measure office and casual shirts. I have always had a problem blowig out the elbow on my button downs, and so far i have yet to see that with a BL shirt. I would reccomend going into a store location first, to get measured for a suit and dress shirt if you can (as opposed to the online measuremwnt guide). They are also really consultative - you can email online and say "i want this shirt, but can you make rhe length so that i can wear it both untucked or tucked." They'll then use your measurements on file to make reccomendations on the sizing. Their suits are a little pricier than Indochino - i have a buddy who has ordered from both and he said that his BL's are higher quality. I receive a ton of compliments on their suits and shirts that i wear. read more

I've had a terrible experience with this company. I went for a suit fitting about ten weeks before my sister's wedding. All of the groomsmen are wearing the same Blank Label suit. I was told they have all their suits made (and altered as I later found out) in Shanghai, China. I've been to Shanghai. You can buy lots of cheap tailored suits like these for $100. I was dubious about the accuracy of the fitting, but was told that some alterations had been noted to improve upon my concerns. I specifically mentioned the shoulders of the jacket being too tight. More on that later. A few weeks later, I get a call from a woman who lives several hours away in another state. She has my BL package (which they sent to the wrong address) and was kind enough to look me up and let me know. I thanked her and called BL, who arranged to have it picked up. When I finally got the suit several weeks later, the fit was horrible. I could barely get the jacket on because the shoulders were so tight. With the wedding fast approaching, I made a last-minute detour from my summer vacation to get fitted again in Boston. They suggested a wide variety of corrections. This time I gave them photos of myself wearing a properly tailored jacket I owned, as well as the exact shoulder measurement. I told them I was concerned the shoulder discrepancy was too significant for alteration, so they assured me they would start from scratch if necessary. Apparently, they felt it was not necessary and that shipping it back to Shanghai for tailoring would do the trick. The end result is "wearable" for this one-time event, yet still too tight and not even matching the measurement I gave. I expect more for almost $700. For the record, the jacket I'm wearing in my profile fit perfectly off the rack, is fully not half-canvassed, made in USA and actually cost less. read more

Excellent experience and shocked and the cost. For $950 you receive a custom tailored suit and three custom tailored shirts the fit was perfect and if you want to order more say in a different color just email and pick up two weeks later! read more

Once I got some chinos altered to acceptable results with them, I made the mistake of ordering six more to the same pattern. The sizing tolerances are awful defeating the whole point of getting a pattern on file. Good concept but a huge waste of time and money. read more

I've bought various clothes at Blank Label, including my wedding suit, and have been blown away by their service and attention to detail. Mike in particular has been great. There have been several times when something came in which looked good to me, but then Mike noticed details that were off and decided to send the item back for minor alterations to make it just right. Mike has also never upsold me and will recommend if he thinks an additional feature is not needed or might detract from my piece of clothing. The experience contrasts with Men's Warehouse, where they try to upsell you on everything. I hope Blank Label retains this attention to detail and great customer service as they expand. I am a big fan of Blank Label. They've made a dress shirt and basic suit for me. Experience in the shop is great, fit is great, turnaround times are great, etc. The only downside is a limited range of fabric options, which are focused on classics. This is totally understandable given their business model, which is aimed at creating a great product (tailored clothes) with a great service experience at a competitive cost. read more

I was curious about company and the idea of having a custom made suit. I went in for a fitting with Michael and even though I wasn't buying a suit today, he still gave me my measurements. Will definitely buy my next suit there, why not have a custom made suit for the same price as off the rack, plus they have great service. read more

I worked with Michael over a period of a few months to simply get the fit of a shirt right. Why did it take a several months? Because Michael is terrible at fitting customers and does not understand what a true custom shirt should be. He would quickly say, "looks good!" whenever I ask a question, making it very evident that he was just trying to get me in and out of the door. He was a poor communicator with the tailor in China and did not get my measurements correct on several occasions. Another issue was the chest fit being way too tight. We iterated on this several times, but they simply could not get the shirt to fit my shoulders correctly, resulting in stretch lines across the chest. After iterating on it 7 times (waiting 2-3 weeks in between each iteration), he said there's really nothing that can be done at this point. They also state that all measurements can come out 0.5 inches off due to the handmade nature of the shirt. 0.5 inches is quite a difference and I noticed that my 8 shirts that I ordered all fit differently (some were too tight, some were too baggy). How is this acceptable? Isn't this the point of a custom shirt? I might as well purchase an off-the-rack shirt and bring it to a tailor that's actually good. Their customer service is also bad: I also asked him to change a button style and he said no problem. I was concerned that it would not look that great, but he said we can just change it free of charge if I don't like it. However, when the shirt arrived and it was not as described, I asked to change it to another button style, I was informed that he incorrectly stated that policy and that they could not do that free of charge. Overall, a huge waste of 4-5 months of iterating on a shirt size. I'm going to try another custom shirt maker and hope my experience is not anywhere close to as terrible as this. read more

Nice looking material and a great idea. I wear a suit almost everyday for work. As a gift a friend got me a couple shirts. I figured I'd start there and then get a couple suits if I liked them. I have had them try to make a shirt for me 3 times so far. They haven't even gotten close. I mean each time was so off I couldn't imagine trying to wear it. I'm not even being picky I mean all three would not even fit in a pinch. I would have been better off wearing a shirt that was small, medium, large. And worst yet each time I have to make time to physically go there and show them that the shirt doesn't fit. They seem well intentioned but I don't have time like that. They make me appreciate my tailor all the more. Do yourself a favor and buy off the rack and have your tailor adjust it slightly. Usually cheaper, way way way less time consuming and you'll actually have a finished product In days not months read more

Blank label is hands down the best place to buy custom fitted dress shirts and suits. My husband has purchased one suit and 6 dress shirts and they all fit perfect. I love how they keep his measurements on file so I can just call up and order him a gift without him having any idea.Just make sure to hang dry every single time or else the sleeves will shrink. read more
