Lorna Blanco was the best. I was so sad when she retired but thought her replacement, Sonya Eshremann would be good. Dr. Eshremann's reviews from where she was in West Covina were great. Unfortunately she did and does not live up to those reviews. She could care less about her patients, gets you in and out if appointments as quickly as possible. Sends incorrect lab requests, won't return calls, take months and months to get an appointment. Her office staff is awful and the office manger is the worst. I'm now looking for a new primary physician. Anybody would be better than her and I don't recommend anyone go to that practice at 375 Huntington Drive, Suite G, San Marino, CA. She is a really good doctor, but she is very busy. Patients who have busy schedules need to see another doctor at the practice. Most of those other doctors have been very good, but there is turnover. I haven't seen her in years, due to her busy schedule. She was the first doctor who was honest about how overweight I was. (I thought her scale was broken - it wasn't.) She tends to be very cautious, a characteristic in the medical field which has more pluses than minuses, in that this type of cautiousness leads to early detection. read more

All in all, dr Lorna blanco is the best primary care physician I've ever had. It is true that it can take a long time to get an appointment with her. Also, Sometimes you do have to wait a while in the office for your name to be called. But there are many reasons for this. For several years she has been voted one of the best top doctors in the Pasadena area. (She's actually located in San Marino. )She is very popular. I appreciate that she expects a lot from her staff because she won't settle for anything but the best. Lorna gives her best always. My advice is if you are able, try to see her earlier in the day. She works so diligently throughout the day, she's tired near the end of the day. There are so many other qualities I like about her. She's more on the serious side, which is different than her male colleague. And really wants to do the right thing for her patients. I've never seen any PCP try so hard to appease her patients. She and her nurses work tenaciously to get me the referrals that I need. I appreciate that a majority of them have been approved before I leave her office.She cares so much about the medical field and serving others . Quite often , I call after hours and she is main doctor on call. It's reassuring to know that she will type up notes so that she , her nurses, or colleagues can assist me if I need additional help the next day. I don't know how she does it, especially since she's been working as a doctor for well over 20 years. I would never try to leave her to try out another PCP because I'm afraid that I won't find someone who is as good as she is. And I know that I it would be improbable to return back to her, since she has almost always been maxed out with patients for the 10-11 years she's been my doctor. I could go into way more specific details, but there wouldn't be enough space to write it all in one review. One thing I will write is I communicated with her office a few years ago that I would be changing doctors. ( I had frequently been spending my time at my relatives' home to take care of them and was finding it difficult to drive to San Marino, my actual home town. ) Lorna called me herself and pleaded with me to stay. I have had a very good experience with Dr. Blanco. She is very, very thorough. She takes her time and checks everything. She really gets to know her patients. The front office staff have squeezed me in when I have had urgent care needs. I love that I don't have to go to urgent care. I wanted to get in soon so they contacted me when they had a cancellation. I've been seeing Dr. Blanco for about 7 years now and am so grateful to have found her. She has impeccable attention to detail and genuinely cares about her patients. She takes the time to answer questions and explain things that would otherwise go in-noticed by me. She is the right doctor for preventative care and for simply staying on top of your health. Her staff are helpful and appointments generally run on time, give or take a few minutes. Dr. Blanco's communication style is matter of fact, and at times, feels abrupt, but I believe this stems from her laser focus on my wellness and any sign of a red flag. She schedules follow up for things that other docs may shrug off, and this gives me great comfort as I feel it is part of early detection for most any issue. Dr. Blanco is great! It is sometimes difficult to see her though. She has a tight schedule. She is very attentive and really shows that she cares about your health. Staff is great as well. Although, I noticed that two of their front staff left. If I remember correctly, their names were Natalie and Stephanie. They were always very helpful and nice. I hadn't been in for a while, and I went back to see Dr. Blanco a few days ago, and noticed that they were gone. =( Also, yelp is listing her as a dermatologist. Which, she is not! Dr Blanco has been my physician for seven years. She is terriffic. I trust her thoroughness and I very much like the way she interacts with me. However, her staff is another story. That's why I knocked my rating down from 5 to 4. I was told to call for lab results 3 days ago. The staff keeps on saying they will call me back. I call them back every morning, expecting her to get a message and call me back at the end of day after she is finished seeing patients in the office.
